BrowserLab not up?

Logged in to adobe and led to https://browserlab.adobe.com/en-us/index.html#. Shows loading bar for a few minutes, then finishes loading and displays only a bar across top and no other content. So my question: is the facility down? On OS X 10.6.6, multiple browsers.
TIA, tom

Yeah, I'm one of the devs on BrowserLab. Glad I was able to help out some, but you still have an issue trying to use BrowserLab while DW is open though, correct? As a temporary workaround you might try opening BL first, logging in and then opening up DW waiting for a minute and see if the two apps will connect to each other. You can tell if they did because the BL extension in DW will show a green dot and say "Connected to BrowserLab".
Beyond that, I think we may want to dig into this issue further with you so we can figure it out for yourself and others. Can you send me your contact info please (email to [email protected])
Thanks,
Mark

  • Browserlab not loading and showing page error

    Hi!
Have been using BL for while, works great for (X)HTML sites. I am now starting to work with PHP and have developing a site with DW and Cartweaver for a store, and I cannot get it to show in BL. I am on a Mac, OSX, MAMP (Apache/MySQL). My site shows fine in Live View, and the various browsers on my Mac, but I need to check against IE versions. My site looks as though it is set up correctly etc. please can you point me in the right direction to get BL to work for this?
    Thx,
    Rob

Got the screenshot, thanks. And hello again Rob
    Follow-up:
    2) Not sure that it matters, but what's the url you see in the BrowserLab UI after making the request? What path do you have defined as the Local Site Path in your site definition in DW?
    3) How are you requesting the screenshots? From the BrowserLab panel inside DW?
    4) Open up the BrowserLab panel in DW and see what the drop-down control is set to. If it doesn't say "Local" change it to Local and press the preview button and let me know what happens.
    6) I want to make sure that none of the assets your page(s) need live outside the directory you've got within your DW site definition.
    Thanks,

  • Browserlab not loading from CS5 Dreamweaver

    Hi,
I am using Dreamweaver CS5 and have previously been able to connect to the online Browserlab to test a page layout in several browsers.
I am using a Mac platform.
This no longer seems to work. It used to load the browserlab site into the browser and then download the browser options so I could view the different types.
I am not aware of any changes I have made to Dreamweaver. Can you help?
    Thanks

Make sure your Dreamweaver is updated with the 11.0.4 update (build 4993).
You can go to Help > Updates in Dreamweaver to check for and install the update, or go here to download for manual installation:
    http://adobe.ly/DWUpdates
If you are still having issues after updating, be sure to reply to Mark's question in as much detail as possible.
    Kind regards,

  • BrowserLab not working?

When I try to use BrowserLab it returns a server error - not working ?

Yes. In fact it was the behavior you described in Safari that makes me think so. No matter how BrowserLab is started, it will make an attempt to link to DW. In the relatively rare case when the LocalConnection communication is broken, it can cause exactly the behavior you described. Did you close/restart DW at all during this process? If not, how long was the interval between when it was broken and when you saw it working again? I think there is about a 5-10 minute timer when our communication will attempt to reset itself.

  • Another issue of Browserlab not displaying IE screenshots...

Browserlab is showing the screenshots for Chrome, FF and Safari, but refuses to give me an IE7/8/9.  Has anyone solved this issue?
IE7 error: "This program cannot isplay the webpage."
IE8 error: blank white page with no delay, and blank black page with 10 sec delay
    IE9 error: blank white page

After chasing our tails for a bit, we found there are actually a couple of different issues we were looking at. The reproducible case with a different URL I thought I'd found was a completely separate issue that we're still investigating.
As far as the problem with your URL, BrowserLab is having one issue, but for the most part, our renderings are accurate in IE. Something about that page is causing it to render incorrectly in all versions of IE that we were able to test. I'm attaching a screenshot as a sample of what we got in IE7 for your URL.
Here are the results we got from that URL testing outside of BrowserLab:
IE6 on XP: Blank white page
IE7 on XP: Doesn't render right, see screenshot
IE8 on Win7: Looks the same as IE7
    IE9 on Win7: White page
The one issue it looks like we have is that BrowserLab returns an error for IE7 and not that blank black screen. We'll investigate that issue as well as the one I found with another site, but other than that, there are big problems with that page in IE.
    Hope this helps,

  • Browserlab in DW trial version

Hi, I am trying out  DW CS5 30 day version. My browserlab window has never worked and the 'preview in adobe browserlab' function has never worked from day 1.
Is browserlab not available in the trial version?

    Hi Archna,
I solved my problem by going to the help menu and clicking on updates. Downloaded the two updates and I then had Browserlab.
    Thanks,

  • Browserlab is not working for me, it wont complete the load even though i have high speed internet?

    Subject
First time use of browser lab not working.
    Problem Description
Ok, so, I'm working on a tutorial page on CS5.5 and I am at the stage of using browserlab to preview it online. I log in and enter my password then it opens my browser and I click on "start using browserlab now" and a load screed appears. It loads for about a minute and then remains "blank", which is in fact the adobe screen with a language bar at the top right, but NO preview pages? also, if I then go into dreamweaver again the browserlab tab reports an error saying "Timed out, failed to connect to BrowserLab"
    Steps to Recreate
This issue happens every time, and I have never got it to work.
    Windows 7 32-bit operating system.
I am using the main BrowserLab interface as well as testing via Dreamweaver integration (DW version is version 11.5 build 5315)
I dont understand what this next statement means? "What is the URL you're testing against?"
    Expected Results
I thought that browserlab would open my page in multiple browsers on one page so i could see if there are any errors for different browser types.
    Actual Results
Did not load correctly and gives errors.
    Many thanks in advance
    Marshall de Meillon

    Hi Marshall,
Thanks for the detailed report. Don't worry about your step #4, you didn't get to that point.
From what I can tell, you're opening up BrowserLab in your browser first, then trying to do a preview from Dreamweaver, is that correct? I'd like to try a test where you first test BrowserLab in standalone mode and if that works, then try the BrowserLab integration with Dreamweaver. So please try doing the following steps:
Close Dreamweaver and all of your browser windows.
Leave DW closed, open a single browser window and go to https://browserlab.adobe.com
Log in, and request a screenshot by typing in a URL like http://www.yahoo.com and pressing <Enter>
Does that work for you? Do you get screenshots for that? If not, please describe the steps you followed and what you see
If so, close your browser window and open Dreamweaver. Do not open your browser to BrowserLab
In DW, open the webpage you'd like to view in BrowserLab and press the preview button in the BrowserLab panel as shown in your shot
You may need to log in again, but let me know what happens with that test.

  • Entire DIV (text and images) not displaying in IE7 & IE6, says Browserlab. All other browsers OK.

Please help. I am baffled. I have created this small web site here and Browserlab shows that when using IE7 & IE6, there is an entire DIV that is not displaying at all. All other browsers seems to be OK. I have removed all 'position' attributes, with no Z-indexing on anything. I floated the top left section (to the left) and then floated the top right section ( to the right). It is the section to the right that is not displaying.
Here is a pic for most browsers. Everything seems OK.
    And here is a pic showing Browserlab in IE7;
What could be causing my display problems?
    Many thanks for any help.
    Dave F.

Thank you. I had changed (and saved) the positioning to get rid of the absolute attribute. But for some reason, the change did not actually make it into my CSS stlye sheet. I had to manually code in the floats to left and right.
    Then my problem was solved.
Now I just need to find out why my changes are not being properly saved in the CSS style sheet.
Thanks again! You definitely led me down the right path. Much obliged.

  • BrowserLab login NOT WORKING CORRECTLY - going round in circles

Hi, I tried, as normal to log into Browser Lab and got the new "sign into CS Live and CS5" thingy, which then sent me round in a big CIRCLE. Ending up with not getting onto Browser Lab, but being asked again if I want to sign up for CS Live. Have I broken it?
Yup, just tried again, going round in circles. Somebody broke it, tsk tsk. Any ideas ?

I can't get into BrowserLab either.  I've used it several times since getting CS5, but over the past week or two, every time I try I just get the loading bar.
In Safari, I can't even get to the landing page--i.e. the one with the big red "Try BrowserLab" button (http://www.adobe.com/go/browserlab_cslive).  That gives me the same fullscreen gray page with the loading bar in the middle.  Oddly, there doesn't seem to be an option on the Adobe site to log out and then log back in so I can retrace my steps through the sign-up process as you suggest.  In Firefox, the landing page appears, but when I click "Try BrowserLab" I get the same loading bar, taunting me.
In Dreamweaver, I click the CS Live button up top and it tells me "The application is not connected to the internet."  Is there a particular way I need to connect Dreamweaver to use CS Live/BrowserLab?  I connect using FTP just fine and upload/download files all day.  Don't use a proxy.
Looking forward to using CS Live once again.  It was a cool feature, the few times I was able to use it.
    Thanks,

  • BrowserLab font examples do not render correctly

I am creating a web site using Marydale Inspired (TT) from Three Islands Press for titling and Helvetica Neue for body type. In FF 3.6 and 4.0 RC and Safari 5.0 on Mac Pro running OS X 10.6.6 the fonts render properly. In the BrowserLab tests, the Marydale, a casual font, becomes a Times-like serif typestyle and the body type is much thinner. In all BrowserLab cases the text weight of the body type is reduced. But, at least it doesn't serify the body text.
Ah, well. Nice idea in concept, but not worth the trouble.

Can you possibly provide a bit more detail or even better a URL we could test?
Browserlab fully supports @font-face declarations.  One thing to keep in mind is that the fonts need to be downloaded by the browsers before they will display properly.
When working directly with a browser you will notice the browser downloads the text first, then the font.  After the font is download the page refreshes with the correct font.
If you increase the delay setting, you should be able to work around the font download delay. Start off with a 3-5 second delay, you can adjust from there.
Please let us know what your results are.  We need your input to improve the service.

  • The Dreamweaver client version does not match this version of the BrowserLab client

    Cannot use BrowserLab
I have followed the upgrade instructions on this page
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/browserlab.html
Deleted the MeerMeerDW folder, downloaded and installed the latest MXP files.
But when I try to use BrowserLab from Dreamweaver after program loads error message says
"The Dreamweaver client version does not match this version of the BrowserLab client.
Please download and install the latest version of the Dreamweaver MXPs"
I have tried several times, even tried removing the extensions from Extension Manager, quiting the program,
deleting the MeerMeerDW folder, restarting Extension Manager and reinstalling the MXPs, then starting Dreamweaver
and trying the Preview in Browser>Adobe BrowserLab. Same problem, program loads and then get error message.
    Macintosh OS 10.5.8
    Dreamweaver CS4
    Extension Manager CS4 (2.1.115)

    Hello toni7,
I'm sorry to hear you're having problems. Are you prompted to replace the existing extensions when performing the installation? The error message you are receiving when using the service is expected if the new versions of the extensions are not installed.
What is the version number of the extensions displayed in Extension Manager?
Are you deleting the MeerMeerDW folder in the user library prior to installing the new version of the extensions? And just to be sure, are you logged in as the same user? [(user)\Library\Application Support\Adobe\CS4ServiceManager\extensions\MeerMeerDW]
Do you have more than one MeerMeerDW folder at the path above?
Also, be sure that all adobe applications are closed before trying to install the new extensions. I would also make sure that CS4ServiceManager, Extension Manager and Dreamweaver are not running when you delete the MeerMeerDW folder and prior to installing the updated extensions. Go to Applications\Utilities\Activity Monitor and Quit Process on any of those three running prior to installing.
It's critical that the MeerMeerDW folder is manually deleted, rather than removed using Extension Manager before updating the extensions.
    Best regards,
    Corey

  • BrowserLab bug: not displaying IEPNGFIX in IE6

BrowserLab doesn't seem to be able to correctly apply the htc file, used by IEPNGFIX--at least for a local file. Steps:
    1. Download IEPNGFIX alpha 2 from here: http://www.twinhelix.com/test/iepngfix.zip
    2. open iepngfix.html (it's in the download) in Dreamweaver then preview in BrowserLab
    3. The IE6 view in BrowserLab doesn't display the PNG transparency--i've test same files locally using VMWare and a locally running copy of IE6 gets it right.
Interestingly, if you view an online demo at http://www.twinhelix.com/css/iepngfix/demo/ using in BrowserLab, BrowserLab gets it right for IE6 preview. Why?

Oops sorry, I've used them before and forgot they did that soon after a site was set-up! My other site is hosted by them with no problem.
If you are able to see the site now the link is still http://www.lewistest.webatu.com/ ... failing that I will post source code etc tomorrow

  • BrowserLab / firebug not loading CSS??

    Hi
I am testing a site from localhost using firebug.  The pages load, but none of the css loads - even when testing in FF5...  Yet, in another window I have the site rendering perfectly....  and permissions are set correctly to the best of my knowledge.   Any thoughts as to why this would happen?

    Hey,
    please try the below steps.
    1.  please make sure that Firebug is engaged for your page, by default  Firebug is not engaged (grey) in color , when engaged it turns orange  color - please ensure that Firebug is orange for your page
    2. Ensure that "Net" tab of Firebug is enabled
    3. Refresh your page
this  will ensure that "Firebug net cache" is available and will  increase/improve performance for streaming assets back to BL cloud  service for preview.
please try the above steps - it should fix the issue you are running into.

PS : these instructions/optimizations are specifically for Firebug integration with BL/

  • BrowserLab just not working! Please fix issue!

    Hi guys,
In Dreamweaver I go into test page using BrowserLab, blank BrowserLab grey screen comes up. There's no 'Browser Sets' to select in the drop down menu, and when I go into Browser Sets at the top to set one up, I can check box the various browsers but the "Add new browser set" button does nothing. So, can't add browser set, therefore can't test site. It just tells me "there is no browser set defined."
Seems like something wrong with that 'add browser set button' perhaps? Please help asap! Many thanks!

There is a very occasional problem with BrowserLab where the interface is shown without the user actually having been logged in. At the top of the BrowserLab UI do you see "Welcome <YourFullName>"? If you don't see your full name shown there, that's the cause of the problem. Can you try closing all open browser windows, restarting your browser, clearing your cache, and giving it another try?
    Hope this helps,
    Mark
