Browsing Adobe document in Acrobat XI
I had to install Acrobat XI ($129) because I had to reset my computer and couldn't find my earlier Acrobat installation file. I didn't find any new features I needed, but the browse bar on the right hand side for moving around in a document has disappeared. I used that a lot and it's common to many applications. Is there a way to get it back?
Hi catsnotkids,
You need to use the 'DISABLE_BROWSER _INTEGRATION' in the install command line to achieve this.

HI,
I have an XDP file designed by Adobe Designer 7.1 with the following hierarchy of elements:
-form1(root)
--Button
--tmpForm (subform - Repeat subform for each data entry )
---ST (Text)
Now, this XDP file generates an Interactive PDF form with Reader Rights enabled by the Adobe Document Services.
On click of button, the following javascript is executed on client side:
var df = _tmpForm.addInstance(1);
df.ST.rawValue = "HI" ;
xfa.host.messageBox( "Instances" + tmpForm.all.length ) ;
On clicking the button, i get the length of the instances of the subform and the size increases on each click, but no element is added "visibly" to the pdf.
But when i try to do the same by saving the XDP file as Dynamic PDF form for Acrobat 8.0,and open it using Adobe Acrobat PRO 8.0, it works fine.
My question is,I s it not possible to add subforms dynamically in PDF's generated by Adobe Document Services with Reader Rights enabled?
Or, is there something that i am missing?
Please guide.
Thanks.

SiddharthaHi,
you can't change the behavior of the save button in the browser nor in Reader/Acrobat.
You can add a custom button within your form which calls a custom script from a folder level script using the browserForDoc method.
The browseForDoc methos is the only one whcih can change the name in the saveAs dialog.
Here's an example., you can run from Acrobat console.
You need to combine it with the solution from the other thread to make it work with your form.

var oRetn = app.browseForDoc({

Hi higi97,
How are you connected to the internet? Are you behind a particularly secure corporate firewall? Are you on Mac or Windows? Do you have any anti-malware software running on your machine that may be preventing applications other than your browser from connecting to the internet?
You may try to follow the steps below:
1.Close the Creative Cloud application.
2.Navigate to the OOBE folder.
Windows: [System drive]:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
Mac OS: /Users/[user name]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE folder
3.Delete the opm.db file.
4.Launch Creative Cloud.
Let us know if that helps,

Adobe Send within Acrobat XI Std - Integration with Outlook 2013
I recently upgraded a user from Office 2007 to Office 2013. The install for Office 2013 was a fresh install (not a true upgrade). Prior to the upgrade, the user was able to use the Adobe Send feature within Acrobat XI Standard (11.0.10) to send documents to multiple recipients without the need to type everyone's email address in. After the upgrade, the feature to use Adobe Send within Acrobat XI seems to have vanished, forcing the user the log in via the browser, but this requires typing out the email address for each recipient. As one can guess, it's a very tedious process, especially given how it worked like a charm for her prior to the upgrade.
Is there a feature or add-on that needs to be applied for Outlook 2013 and Acrobat XI to be integrated?I don't know why Send is not working from Acrobat, but since you're using Outlook 2013, you might try our Outlook plugin -- https://www.acrobat.com/en_us/landing/adobesend-outlook-plugin.html

Did you do that: launch the standalone Reader (not the browser plugin) and accept the EULA? -
I was notified to upgrade OS X to 10.8.5. Part of the upgrade was adjustments to Safari. Now when I download a document into Adobe format it will not open and gives an alert that it is not able to be opened because it is damaged. Never happened before. Does Safari need a fix?
Back up all data.
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, there should be a setting in its preferences such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected. Otherwise do as follows.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again. -
Printing adobe documents from safari
I have recently loaded Maverick on my mac. When I try to print various adobe documents I am viewing using safari, after stating that the site is trustworthy, the print I receive is not the image but a piece of each image shown 6 times on each sheet. I have printed pages from safari without a problem. Only occurs with adobe files. I have been forced to copy the screen image and printing that image so I can keep working. Any solutions?

Opening .pdf web documents with Acrobat XI Standard
After installing Acrobat XI, when I click the hyperlink "view" for .pdf statements in either of my two brokerage company accounts, or click on a hyperlink to open a .pdf document in a web document, the .pdf gets downloaded but not opened. So I have to view .pdf documents from my "Downloads" folder, rather than having them simply open in a new page or tab when I click on them. (The new tab either quickly disappears or stays open, but is blank. Only the Download location works to open the .pdf file.) I don't know whether this is an Adobe issue with Acrobat XI or something else causing my computer not to open the .pdf files. I am running Acrobat XI Standard in the Windows Vista Home Premium OS on a Gateway GT5678 PC.
Many thanks for the quick response, Bill. On your hunch that the browser
might make a difference, I tried clicking on the same sites' .pdf files in
Chrome and IE, rather than my normal Firefox browser. They opened on-screen
without a problem. Looks like I may have a Java plugin problem in Firefox,
rather than an AA XI issue. Also looks like Windows Vista supports AA XI
without a problem. -
Avoid Save As dialog when Signing a document in Acrobat?
I'm working on a web application that allows users to download a PDF, sign it, and then upload it back to the server. I'm trying to minimize the number of steps required of the user, so I would like to by-pass the Save As dialog that is presented when a user signs a document in Acrobat. Is there a way to do this?
Basically, I would like the signed document to be saved *automatically* in one of the following ways:
1. Automatically overwrite the original document
2. Save to the same location as the original document, but with a different name (e.g., [original_name]_Signed.pdf)
3. Save to a subdirectory of the original document's location (e.g., in a "Signed" folder)
Is this possible using JavaScript or a custom plug-in? Or in a simpler way?Okay, let's say I chose to do an HTTP POST of the signed PDF content from the Acrobat browser plug-in to the server -- how would I accomplish that? Would it require JavaScript in the PDF to make it happen? Or is there a way to instruct the Acrobat browser plug-in to do it without any custom coding?
Thanks for your replies, Irosenth. -

But, it still does not resolve my problem. I also upgraded the version to SP16 and yet it does not resolve the problem. Can someone tell me what could be wrong?
Thanks for all your help in advance.
Regards,
DivyaHi,
All the form-related services have to be started first: the IIOP on dispatcher and server, all the Document Services *, PDF manupulation and XML form module.
Then you should be able to register your credential.

How can I save a Adobe document to print duplex for other users.
I want to create a doc using Adobe and be able to set it to print duplex by other users without the user needed to go into printer settings.
All the user has to do is click print on there computer and the doc. will print duplex. The users have Adobe Reader installed. It is possible to set a default value for the Adobe Reader or Acrobat print dialog on a document basis. After the document is created, go to Document Properties (Ctrl-D), and select the Advanced tab. Go to the DuplexMode setting. Normally, this is set to Simplex, i.e. single sided printing. You can also set it to either Duplex Flip Long Edge or Duplex Flip Short Edge depending upon your needs. Duplex Flip Long Edge is normally used for printing of “portrait” orientation content with Duplex Flip Short Edge typically used for printing of “landscape” orientation content. Then save the PDF file (typically, “save as” should be used).
Important notes: Obviously, this only works if the PDF file is being opened by one of the applications that even bothers to look at these settings. Adobe Reader and Acrobat do. Don't count on MacOS Preview or other applications to do so! Furthermore (and somewhat obviously), this setting is only observed with print devices that directly support duplex printing. And finally, this does not force the user to print duplex. It simply pre-populates the print dialog; the user can change the setting.

A few questions regarding the configuration of Adobe Document Services
<u><i>For Your Information: the main questions are repeated at the end of this post.</i></u>
The Adobe Document Services seems to work fine. The test I did on http://<server>:<port>/AdobeDocumentServices/Config gives the error
' "Required stream: "PDFDocument" not found. ' so that's fine.
But when I do this: http://server:50000/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/TutWD_OnlineInteractiveForm/OnlineInteractiveFormApp
The result: the PDF is shown and I can enter text in the textboxes and also use the radioboxes.
But I can't use the dropdownboxes, neither can I use the "submit" and "check" buttons..
Is this normal? Or is it because of the ReaderRights credential?
Or is it necessary to install the ACF?
Here is some info I got from a blog:
"<b>Client Side Requirements</b>
Follow the steps mentioned below. Please make sure the following prerequisites are met before working with Adobe Interactive Forms.
NWDS 7.0 / 6.0
Adobe Live cycle designer 7.1 / 7.0
Adobe Reader 7.0.8 [ Minimum : 7.0.1]
<b>End User Requirements</b>
Adobe Reader 7.0.8 [ Minimum : 7.0.1]
Active Component Framework (ACF) - SPS 9, SPS 10"
Two more questions;
1)This info is in the config guide:
"If you have installed the ADS and the WD runtime environment on different J2EE engines and if the communication between these engines uses the SLD, you need to publish the ADS to the SLD."
Does this mean that I don't need to do this when I haven't used SLD? Or is it necessary to install SLD?
Some more info:
Prerequisites:
A System Landscape Dir must already have been configured.
If you have not yet done so, perform the necessary activities according to the documentation SAP System Landscape Directory, Administrative Activities section, chapters:
Start and stop the SLD Service
Configure the SLD Server
Configure data persistence
Make settings for the SLD bridge
You can find this documentation by calling the following URL in your web
browser: http://<host>:<port>/sld
When I check this URL, I don't see anything concerning an (already configured) SLD.
2) Do I need the license below too to develop in AIF?
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes/sdn_oss_bc_srv/~form/handler%7b5f4150503d3030323030363832353030303030303031393732265f4556454e543d444953504c4159265f4e4e554d3d373530373834%7d
Main questions----
I need to create a form with a few fields (of which some fields are mandatory); then I have to use a few BAPI's to check these fields and to save the content in a CRM system.
I've installed Netweaver Sneak Preview, and configured Adobe Document Services (made ADSUser & ADSCaller, set IIOP etc to Autostart, Installed the credentials). The tests seem to work fine, but I haven't developed anything yet.
My questions:
1)Is it necessary to install the ACF?
2)Is it necessary to install Adobe LifeCycle Designer?
3)Also SLD?
4)Also the license described above?

Some questions are answered by someone else.
-The SLD is okay, it doesn't need to be configured
-The Adobe Lifecycle Designer is automatically installed when installing the Netweaver Studio Sneak Preview SP16
Just two more questions:
1)when I open http://server:port/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/TutWD_OnlineInteractiveForm/OnlineInteractiveFormApp
The PDF is shown but I can't use the buttons or the dropdown boxes.
I tried to install ACF but I have NW04s SP16, and the ACF is only SP11.
So when I install that, it only shows a blue screen with "I am the placeholder control"
When I install ACF SP19 for NW04, the PDF shows again, but I still can't use the buttons or dropdowns. Is this normal?
2) Do I need the license described below?

I've tried Command Q to close; Tried Adobe Reader Tool Bar but closing is grayed out; I'ved held the power button for hard close, but everytime I try to open a .pdf I get this message:
There was an error opening this document. Acrobat cannot open this file because a task is still active in Acrobat.
I'm not extremely technical, but I can follow directions if someone can help!
ThanksLooks like it got stuck.
You can switch to another program or the Finder (click on desktop) and Apple menu > Force Quit > Adobe
You can press and hold the power button, it's a emergency force shutdown which you can boot normally and it should be fine. -
