Browsing tables problem [v1.2.1]

When I try to view some tables I get the following error...
"table or view does not exist"
The table browser still appears and works but I get the error 3 times every time I move between tabs.
This appears to happen to users that have more restrictions.
Thanks

I've logged this as bug 6347799. I can't offer more comment on this until the dev team gets in.

    And they said no problem before move to new server.
    Then you could try the workaround mentioned in comment 6: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=786587#c6
    According to the bug report it was found in 3.3, so either they had this problem before or they used an older version firefox than 16 prior to the server migration.

  • Oracle 10g express edition browser login problem

    Hi
    I installed oracle 10g express edition and after installing successfully logged in browser , unlocked hr login and also created one form then I shutdown the database and rebooted my pc and since then when I try to login to "go to Database Home page" after starting database , I get a cookie 127.0.0.1 with username and password, First of all I am not sure what username/password it is expecting, I believe it requires my Windows XP username and password , I tried to enter couple of times my pc login username which has administrator privileges, I also checked it has ora_dba group but after entering pc username , password browser opens saying "unauthorized". I created another os user and tried with that still same. I tried entering oracle password "SYSTEM" and password for it but still could not login, I tried HR username password still nothing.
    I tried disabling firewall but still same issue. I tried to re-install two time but still same .
    Start database dos prompt does show all the process are started successfully .
    I also did ping for 127.0.0.1 and it does ping.
    I tried everything what I knew.
    Can anyone please help me ..to resolve this issue .

    Hi
    This is how I resolved the browser login problem .
    I checked the listener log
    C:\OracleXE\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\NETWORK\log
    And found the error
    TNS-12542: TNS:address already in use
    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
    TNS-00512: Address already in use
    I have another version for oracle installed on my pc .
    I ended both the oracle process (Oracle.exe) through the Task Manager
    Then manually started “OracleServiceXe” service through Component Services
    Control Panel – Performance & Maintenance – Administrative – Component Services
    Then did following
    Programs – Oracle Database10g ExpressEdition – Start Database
    Programs – Oracle Databse10g ExpressEdition – Go to Database Homepage –
    Enter username SYSTEM
    Enter password xxxxxx … whatever given at the time of installing.
    And I did successfully login to the browser .
    Hope this will help to those of you who have run into similar problem which I faced
    Good Luck .

  • Autonomous Trigger / Mutating Table Problem

    We have a specific problem in one of our applications being developed where by the database needs to enforce a specific business requirement.
    We need to use a database trigger to enforce some data integrity which involves more than one table as such cannot use standard constraint. The integrity has to be maintained in the database as the DML statements may be coming from a Java application or PL/SQL code as such we need the logic all in one place.
    The problem being that within the trigger we need to examine the state of the table the trigger is associated with as well as one other table. Obviously using a trigger on a table that is being affected by DML statements causes the dreaded mutating table problem.
    One suggested solution to this was to make the trigger or the code the trigger called autonomous. This allows the trigger to execute by only showing the trigger the original state of the table before any of the DML statements have affected it.
    The problem is this seems to work for single row DML statements but not for multi row DML statements. In multi row the trigger only sees the original state of the table, not the state of the table plus the changes made by any other actions in the same DML statement.
    Below I have shown an example of what I'm seeing.
    I have grossly simplified the example code below to only refer to a single table and use stupidly simple logic
    I do realise i appear to be implementing uniqueness in my own PL/SQL code, this is purely for the example.
    CREATE TABLE mutate_test
    id INTEGER NOT NULL,
    value VARCHAR2(255) NOT NULL
    ALTER TABLE mutate_test ADD CONSTRAINT pk_mutate_test PRIMARY KEY(id);
    ALTER TABLE mutate_test ADD CONSTRAINT ck_mutate_test CHECK (value = UPPER(value));
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION duplicate_found(in_value IN mutate_test.value%TYPE) RETURN BOOLEAN IS
    PRAGMA AUTONOMOUS_TRANSACTION;
    v_value_found INTEGER;
    BEGIN
    SELECT COUNT(*)
    INTO v_value_found
    FROM mutate_test
    WHERE value = in_value;
    IF v_value_found > 0 THEN
    RETURN TRUE;
    ELSE
    RETURN FALSE;
    END IF;
    END;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER tr_mutate_test BEFORE INSERT OR UPDATE ON mutate_test
    FOR EACH ROW
    BEGIN
    IF duplicate_found(:new.value) = TRUE THEN
    RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR(-20000,'Duplicate value found');
    END IF;
    END;
    INSERT INTO mutate_test (id,value) VALUES (1,'CLIFF');
    INSERT INTO mutate_test (id,value) VALUES (2,'SULA');
    COMMIT;
    SELECT * FROM mutate_test;
    -- Should fail as row 1 already has a value of CLIFF
    INSERT INTO mutate_test (id,value) VALUES (3,'CLIFF');
    COMMIT;
    SELECT * FROM mutate_test;
    -- Should fail as row 1 is already set to CLIFF
    UPDATE mutate_test SET value = 'CLIFF' WHERE id = 2;
    COMMIT;
    SELECT * FROM mutate_test;
    UPDATE mutate_test SET value = 'CLIFFORD' WHERE id = 1;
    COMMIT;
    SELECT * FROM mutate_test;
    INSERT INTO mutate_test (id,value) VALUES (3,'RONNY');
    INSERT INTO mutate_test (id,value) VALUES (4,'TIM');
    INSERT INTO mutate_test (id,value) VALUES (5,'MONIQUE');
    COMMIT;
    SELECT * FROM mutate_test;
    -- Wanted result would be row 1 would be updated from CLIFFORD to CLIFF
    -- and the others raise errors, or all of them raise errors.
    UPDATE mutate_test SET value = 'CLIFF' WHERE id IN (1,3,4);
    COMMIT;
    SELECT * FROM mutate_test;

    This is all from a University application that deals with eLearning.
    Shell = Mapping from the system to an external eLearning application, ie: unique id of the Blackboard course shell, or WebBoard board.
    Term = Academic term
    Sector = University sector, ie: Higher Education, TAFE, etc..
    Resource = eLearning tool, ie: Blackboard, WebBoard, etc..
    Resource Level = Whether the resource is being offered at a Course or Program level
    Resource Mapping = Association of a resource to shell
    What we are trying to achieve is that shells cannot be used across sector boundaries.
    The real table structure is (grossly simplified again)
    CREATE TABLE sector (sector_pk INTEGER PRIMARY KEY);
    CREATE TABLE sector_pattern (sector_pk INTEGER REFERENCES sector(sector_pk), pattern CHAR(2) NOT NULL UNIQUE CHECK (pattern = UPPER(pattern)));
    CREATE TABLE term (term_pk INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, term CHAR(4) NOT NULL UNIQUE CHECK (term = UPPER(term)));
    CREATE TABLE resource_level (resource_level_pk INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, term_pk INTEGER REFERENCES term(term_pk));
    CREATE TABLE shell_detail (shell_detail_pk INTEGER PRIMARY KEY);
    CREATE TABLE resource_mapping (resource_mapping INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, resource_level_pk INTEGER REFERENCES resource_level(resource_level_pk), shell_detail_pk INTEGER REFERENCES shell_detail(shell_detail_pk));
    Based on the Ask Tom article linked I'd liked to use a MATERIALIZED VIEW on the following query
    SELECT DISTINCT rm.shell_detail_pk,sp.sector_pk
    FROM resource_mapping rm, resource_level rl, term t, sector_pattern sp
    WHERE rm.resource_level_pk = rl.resource_level_pk
    AND rl.term_pk = t.term_pk
    AND SUBSTR(t.term,3,2) = sp.pattern;
    Then apply a UNIQUE constraint on that VIEW.
    But I'm receiving a
    SQL Error: ORA-12054: cannot set the ON COMMIT refresh attribute for the materialized view
    I'm not sure how to create the MATERIALIZED VIEW LOG entries for the above VIEW.
    Any ideas anyone? ;)
    Need to do some more reading and research but as Tom says
    "I'm asking around about the future of "SQL" as far as enhancments go like that
    (will update when I get some feedback), but -- you are not limited to triggers
    (in fact, I would avoid triggers as it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to implement
    cross row/cross object constraints with them!!!! at least correctly)"
    So I think i'll give up on the TRIGGER approach as it doesn't meet our requirements.

  • Mutating table problem help required

    Hi. I am rather hoping someone will be able to help me with this problem.
    I have two tables, sa and mv. Create script below:
    create table mv (
    moduleId Char(2) CONSTRAINT ck_moduleId CHECK(moduleId in ('M1', 'M2', 'M3', 'M4', 'M5', 'M6', 'M7', 'M8')),
    credits Number(2) CONSTRAINT ck_credits CHECK(credits in (10, 20, 40)),
    constraint pk_mv primary key(moduleId)
    create table sa (
    stuId Char(2) CONSTRAINT ck_stuId CHECK(stuId in ('S1', 'S2', 'S3', 'S4', 'S5')),
    moduleId Char(2),
    constraint pk_sa primary key(stuId, moduleId),
    constraint fk_moduleid foreign key(moduleId) references mv(moduleId)
    And the scripts below is to insert data into both:
    insert into mv VALUES('M1', 20)
    insert into mv VALUES('M2', 20)
    insert into mv VALUES('M3', 20)
    insert into mv VALUES('M4', 20)
    insert into mv VALUES('M5', 40)
    insert into mv VALUES('M6', 10)
    insert into mv VALUES('M7', 10)
    insert into mv VALUES('M8', 20)
    insert into sa VALUES('S1', 'M1')
    insert into sa VALUES('S1', 'M2')
    insert into sa VALUES('S1', 'M3')
    insert into sa VALUES('S2', 'M2')
    insert into sa VALUES('S2', 'M4')
    insert into sa VALUES('S2', 'M5')
    insert into sa VALUES('S3', 'M1')
    insert into sa VALUES('S3', 'M6')
    Now for the actual problems.
    Firstly I need to try and overcome the mutating table problem by ensure that stuid = S1 in table sa can not take both moduleId M5 and M6.
    Just one or the other. I have created a single trigger, but if fails because of the mutating table problem.
    The second problem I need to overcome is that none of the stuids can have moduleIds where total credit value of more than 120 credits. Credit value is stored in the mv table.
    Many thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Use a statement level trigger:

  • How to handle Back button, Browser Refresh problem at server side.

    Hi Friends,
    How to handle Back button, Browser Refresh problem at server side in java?.
    I am able to trace that,
    request.getHeader("ACCEPT") is returning value- */*
    when the browser was refreshed and returning different MIME types
    for all other actions from browser.
    I have doubt, will the above solution works always for all servers,browsers?.
    Please also specify any solution to handle back button at server side?.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Venkat..

    I'm sorry I don't think tht's the right solution for
    the above question....
    We must be aware that whatever scripting methdologies
    we either javascript/vbscript would executed @
    client(browser) side not @ server side....
    Dud If U get a good solution keep me updated.....
    THANKS & REGARDS,
    RAHULMy dear friend ...
    the bad news is that u simply cant disable or add any listener to the back button of the browser.
    When u hit the back button of ur browser the URL gets re-executed. So in case u have a JSP then the history.forward() is the best solution. [only if the page doesnt get expired similar to secure https sites]
    Now dont say that user can have javascript disabled ...those users will have a pretty touch time browsing websites since javascripts r used extensively by almost all websites.
    But in case u have an action.do or servlet call then u need to manage it using a session variable since the request will be sent to the server rather than client.
    For multiple form submittion issues read the following article in javaworld...
    Client vs. server solutions
    Different solutions can solve this multiple form submission situation. Some transactional sites simply warn the user to wait for a response after submitting and not to submit twice. More sophisticated solutions involve either client scripting or server programming.
    In the client-only strategy, a flag is set on the first submission, and, from then on, the submit button is disabled based on this flag. While appropriate in some situations, this strategy is more or less browser dependent and not as dependable as server solutions.
    For a server-based solution, the Synchronizer Token pattern (from Core J2EE Patterns) can be applied, which requires minimal contribution from the client side. The basic idea is to set a token in a session variable before returning a transactional page to the client. This page carries the token inside a hidden field. Upon submission, request processing first tests for the presence of a valid token in the request parameter by comparing it with the one registered in the session. If the token is valid, processing can continue normally, otherwise an alternate course of action is taken. After testing, the token resets to null to prevent subsequent submissions until a new token is saved in the session, which must be done at the appropriate time based on the desired application flow of control.
    for more details refer :
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/javatips/jw-javatip136.html
    Hope u got the idea.
    FYI I have been using both these ideas in my credit card payment gateway project. This concept has worked really well.

  • Bug: object browser shows invalid identifier when browsing  table data

    Hello,
    getting the following message:
    failed to parse SQL query:
    ORA-00904: "some column name": invalid identifier
    to reproduce,
    install the sample application in application express
    open object browser (tables are displayed)
    click on first DEMO table
    in the right panel, click DATA to view contents of table
    click on 2nd DEMO table
    repeat process for each table, eventually it will appear; mileage varies between table clicks to error
    the data can be displayed without errors by simply clicking DATA link again
    I don't find a particular pattern as to when it appears (time between clicks, order of tables clicked)
    my environment: oracle xe, appex on local machine with windows xp
    Thanks.
    Albert

    Hello,
    This is a known bug/issue because of how the object browser iframe interacts with some of the ajax data pulls.
    It will be fixed in 3.0 when we drop the iframe from the object browser and make it fully Ajax based.

  • How do I browse tables and packages?

    Hello,
    I just got Raptor. I can run SQL statement but I can not find a way to browse tables, views, packages and so on.
    Please help.
    Thanks,

    Sharon,
    Thank you for your help.
    My coworker also download Raptor and he is able to browse tables. We both work on my system and we still can not figure out how to display the Connection Tab. We click on View > Connections and it still does not display the Connection Tab.
    We also reboot my system and run Raptor by itself, it still does not work.
    We start Raptor from C:\Program Files\raptor\Raptor.exe and C:\Program Files\raptor\jdev\bin\raptor.exe.
    I have Windows 2000.

  • J2ee tutorial. "ant create-tables" problem

    I am following Java ee 5 tutorial. In one of its sections it asks me to populate the db by following the below instructions:
    1. In a terminal window, go to the books directory or any one of the bookstore1 through
    bookstore6 example directories.
    2. Start the JavaDB database server. For instructions, see ?Starting and Stopping the JavaDB
    Database Server? on page 69. You don?t have to do this if you are usingNetBeans IDE. It
    starts the database server automatically.
    3. Type ant create-tables. This task runs a command to read the file tutorial.sql and
    execute the SQL commands contained in the file.
    4. At the end of the processing, you should see the following output:
    [sql] 181 of 181 SQL statements executed successfully
    when i reach step 3 and type ant create-tables, i get the following error:

    Any suggestions.

    I was stuck with the same problem but finally managed to get it to work.
    The only difference being, I did not change the "javaee.server.passwordfile" field. Like someone else said, I just changed the first two fields. The following are the values I set for the GlassFish 3.1 server with NetBeans 6.7.1,
    javaee.home=C:/Sun/AppServer
    javaee.tutorial.home=C:/JavaWork/javaeesuntutorial/javaeetutorial5
    Hope this helps.

  • IE Table Problem

    There are a few good books out by www.sitepoint.comthat teach how to use css in simple terms.
    Do they teach using absolutely positioned divs in all their books - I doubt it.  I'm a regular over at Sitepoint and not many there advocate the use of AP divs as the first method of constructing a page.
    If you've been using them for many years and have had no cross browser problems, then you've probably avoided the pitfalls as explained in that article I pointed to - so good on you  ;-)
    A newbie would be in over their heads using AP divs from the get go - if you've been around the DW forum for as long as I have, you'd realise the number of questions arising from people using  AP divs (layers in the old days)  and wondering why their pages are breaking  :-0
    The original poster wanted their page fixed, I told them how to do it in the way the page was originally constructed.  You could actually redo that page without having to resort to using absolutely positioned divs anyway  :-)
    Here's a few Adobe articles on getting started with CSS layouts - geared towards the Dreamweaver user:

  • Browsing table data with server explorer.

    I'm trying to browse data from a table in a different schema. When I double click on the table, I keep getting an error. Schema object MY_TABLE.MY_SCHEMA : Table @ JIN.dbprd/prd1 no longer exists in the database. I can see that (at least in the message), the table and schema is clearly reversed. Anybody else having this problem? is this a known issue? any fix?

    If you would like to try to diagnose this, please try the following:
    1) Close Visual Studio and all applications that are connected to Oracle
    2) In the same Oracle Home as the ODT install, please find the SQLNET.ORA file
    3) In that file, add a line:
    TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT=16
    4) Start Visual Studio
    5) Reproduce the error as efficiently as possible (with no extra steps)
    6) Close Visual Studio immediately
    7) Search for the newly created SQLNET.TRC file
    8) Zip the file, rename the extension to .zipa or something else and email to [email protected]
    9) Remove the TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT entry in SQLNET.ORA

    I call the apps API from custom code.
    It runs the API with no issue. It fails when it tries to access the HR table. So APPS cannot access HR.
    Are you saying I need to modify APPS code?? That is not likely. Are you saying I need to create a public synonym for an HR table for APPS? That seems unlikely also...OK, looks like there is a typo in your first post and the object name is IRC_ASSIGNMENT_STATUSES.
    From eTRM, I see the following:
    TABLE: HR.IRC_ASSIGNMENT_STATUSES
    http://etrm.oracle.com/pls/et1211d9/etrm_pnav.show_object?c_name=IRC_ASSIGNMENT_STATUSES&c_owner=HR&c_type=TABLE

    So, this indicates that apps user should be able access this table without a prefix.

  • IE9 table problem

    Hi,
    I have a problem getting  tables properly displayed in IE9. The table is in the restaurant menu.
    The site works ok on all browsers except IE9 and FireFox4 on the Mac. http://www.topbl1.spiderswebcreation.com
    All tips are very much appreciated!
    David

    Works fine in all browsers.
    Looks like the issue with wrapping in the menu is due to the fact that different browsers need different quantities of leader dots between the menu item and the price.
    Rather than typing dots and trying to get this perfect in each browser (and driving yourself nuts), delete all the typed dots and try a small background image via CSS for the dots.
    http://www.catchmyfame.com/2007/06/02/leader-dots-with-css/
    .dots {
    background:url('dot.gif') repeat-x bottom;

    There are dozens of CSS attributes that can (and have to) be handwritten. Trouble with them is that, like text shadows, they don't appear in all browsers. I have nine different browsers installed and test pages in ALL of them before I "finish" building site or page for a template.
    I try to build for Firefox, out of personal preference for it, but I have to do things that work with IE because it still holds the market share (46%IE to 42%FF), and I will only go with designs that work in IE, FF, NS, Opera, Safari, and Chrome.
    As to your questions.
    1. The compatibility check is most likely current with the time of the build. I don't know if that component updates as browsers do, but I'd tend to think it doesn't. I'm using CS4  and there haven't been any updates for it in nearly a year. Firefox has released 4.0, Opera released 11, and Safari released 5 since then. The updater would have found and downloaded something if it was available.
