Brush in Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 goes missing
Help!
I'm new to APE9.
Without me doing anything, my brush icon has suddenly and without me doing anything has disappeared from the left hand choice menu (see below)
I'd been using it and when I went back to the menu for no reason it had just disappeared.
On other forums I've heard about missing brushes too. Anyone any ideas?
Right click on the pencil tool icon (just below the eraser tool) and select the brush tool.
Some slots in the toolbox group more than one tool.

how do i fix this so i can install adobe photoshop elements. i read all the "help" (so to speak) screens to no avail.

Error archive section adobe photoshop elements missing
I get error message saying archive section of adobe photoshop elements is missing when I try to run the exe file; Ive downloaded everything. Ill have another birthday by the time I download it all again. Any advice?

Can anyone help with Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 installation?
I initially tried the free trial of Photoshop Elements 13, but it wouldn't install. When I received an email suggesting I purchase the product on sale for USD 70. (ending January 3) I purchased it, and have now paid for it and received a serial number. On January 3, when I tried to install it, I was told downloading, extraction and installation were complete, but then it quit. I tried again, but only got as far as 'download complete.' I clicked on 'open bundle,' then got message beginning: "The file archive part of Adobe Photoshop Elements is missing..." I repeated the process and got the same message.
On January 5 I paid a computer professional to install it. He got it working and I actually worked on a couple of images, but it quit after about fifteen minutes, and I am getting the above message again.if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here: Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 Direct Download Links, Premiere too | ProDesignTools

if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version. -
I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 and am trying to upgrade to 13 - getting error message that "file archive part" of Adobe 13 is missing. When I try to download installers for older products it only goes back to v7, not v5 what to do next?
TDFields you will want to ensure the 7z and exe file are in the same folder/directory. You can find more details at Find a download link on Adobe.com.

I just purchased Photoshop 13 for PC MS Windows 8.1 In trying to install, I get the following message after clicking on the 2nd file. "The file archive part of Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 is missing. You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe Photoshop Elements 13. Please download all parts.: I've also gotten an Exit Code: 7 when trying to install. I've turned my McAfee virus system off while trying to install.

There is only one file to download - which one depends on your system (32-bit or 64-bit).
These are the trial versions but will convert to the full version when you supply your serial number.

I was referred here by customer service. I have downloaded Photoshop elements 5.0 to a new PC. After accepting the agreement I receive an error message saying "Your Adobe Photoshop Elements user name, organization, or serial number is missing or invalid. The application cannot continue and must now exit." There is no place to enter the serial number.
All your pictures will remain safe even after uninstalling the program. Your pictures are saved to your system in form of catalog present at C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\Catalogs\<your catalog><br />When you reinstall the program you can open this catalog and view all your photos again.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 for Mac does not show up in Applications. Tutorial for editing from iPhoto shows selecting the Adobe software in Applications. Am I missing a step in registering product?
I answered my own question: There's a difference between "download' and "install." Hunt for "install" (1.5 hrs in my case) and line up your passwords, Adobe ID, etc, then install. Took 15 min. The right choice shows up in Applications. Now it's on to figuring out why photo selected for edit in iPhoto does not show up on screen in Elements.

Am new to Mac. Downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements and am trying to open it but they want a redemption code and a serial number. Since I downloaded it I don't have either of those but apparently I am missing something because I can't use it unless I enter that info and I don't know where to find it. Can you please help me figure this out. If I purchased the software I would have the serial number but as I said, I purchased and downloaded. Marianne

I have PS Elements 5. I read a previous article about above error. According to the steps you have to uninstall the program. What happens to pictures, etc. that at in the program.???

I am just starting this Photoshop Elements. A Christmas gift. Just installed today and playing around trying to combine two Christmas photos. Our family photo is missing one of our granddaughters. So I took a picture of her by herself and am trying to cut and paste her into the family photo. I thought if I used the removal brush to delete the background around her and used the protection brush to capture her, then I could drag and drop her into the spot on the family photo. I get as far as drawing the green (protection) shade on her and the red (removal) shade all around her but when I pull the handle it just goes back to original. I have no idea how to put this in Expert Mode. I went back and looked all around to find a button for that but couldn't. I am not familiar enough yet to know about layers. I can't get anyone from the company to chat with me so I appreciate you responding. What I don't understand is that I am trying my best to go by
the learning and guide tutorials but they are not working like the examples.....which is to go into Guided, recompose photo, mark it in the green and red and then pull the "handle" to the right. But when I do that, all it does is stretch my photo and the green and red shades just go away. So frustrating !!
So anyway, I appreciate your help. I really, really do. But if you don't have time to deal with it, I understand.

why is my adobe photoshop elements 12 not working. it says initializing then error and shuts itself down.
Three things you can try:
1. Clean the superdrive with a proprietory CD/DVD lens cleaner that uses tiny brushes.
2. Perform an SMC reset:
