Brush preset, color problem

Hi,
I can't save anymore color when i create a new brush.
I had no problem in CS5 but in CS6, it's a pain.
When i created a new brush preset in CS5, i had the "save color" option in the windows.
Now, in CS6, the only thing i have is "save brushe size" option.
So, what can i do ?

Perhaps I'm not understanding what you're saying you were able to do, but I don't see any difference between the saving of Brush Presets in Photoshop CS5 vs. CS6...
Are you sure you're not remembering another application?
Is it possible you had installed some plug-in or augment in Photoshop CS5 that provided more functionality?

  • Photoshop CC Not Remebering Brush Preset Color

    Hi everyone,
im having an issue with CC with my brush presets not remembering the color.  I've created 4 brush presets (see pics for settings) of which i checked on the "Include Color" to include the default black & white for every brush preset.
aside from the opacity and flow (marked by the two numbers following the brush name respectively) the brush presets are identical.  they're all the same size and have all the same tip shapes.  However, the program is not remembering the color of the brushes and always defaults to black/black or white/white.
i've gone as far as resetting all my preferences in CC and recreating my workspace, keyboard shortcuts and menus with no luck.  these brushes always default to the black/black or white/white brush color.
please help, this is a really annoying bug i just can't figure out.

    hey M Shaw,
yes, im trying to set the both the default Foreground/Background color in the specific Tool Presets as the system default (Black/White).
In other words, i'd like to default the color to Black Foreground/White Background every time i choose one of my Brush Tool Presets.
I work in and out of masks frequently so i like having the default Brush Tool Preset colors to be Black & White.  That way, i can just toggle between my Foreground & Background color to work within the mask.  the issue im having is that when i do choose one of my Brush Tool Presets, it's for some reason not remembering my Black & White preference.  it seems to default to black & black.  does that help?  i hope im explaining myself okay:p

  • Photoshop CS6 Brush Preset Picker Problem

    Hello
I'd like to know if it's possible to tidy up my PSCS 6 Brush Preset Picker?  Please see image.
My brushes are installed here:  C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64bit)/Presets/Brushes
I can't seem to find any other location that would be causing this issue.  It's only happened since I installed CS6.
Thanks for any help or advice
    Diane

Thanks for the response.  I realise there are duplicates.  My question is how do I delete the duplicates from the picker?  They're aren't duplicates in the actual folders.  I've also organised the brushes into folders, restarted photoshop, rebooted and the problem is the same.
Anyone know where the duplicates might be located on my pc? Or how to delete them in the picker?
    Thanks

  • Make Brush preset doesn't match canvas angle

    Hello!
I'm running a demo version of Photoshop Cs 5 on my brand spanking new Macbook pro 2.3 ghz with 8gb of ramalama.
I work on comics and I create a lot of preset brushes as I go, using an action script.  I'll draw a path, and the script witll fill that path with black, make the path a selection and turn it into a brush preset.
Problem is, when I have the canvas rotated, and I make a brush preset, the new brush is not matching the angle the canvas is CURRENTLY rotated at.
For example, if I've rotated the canvas 45 degress clockwise, and create a brush, the brush will be 45 degress sounter clockwise to what I intended.
This is NOT the way CS 4 worked.
    Any thoughts?

    weird new info:
let me try to calrify again, cuz I know it's odd and difficult to visualize:
lets say im drawing a face and i want to add some feather using a brush pattern:
I create the shape, fill it with black and choose make brush, but it will create the brush canted at the angle in relation to the canvas at zero degress rotation.
Above is my canvas set at zero degrees.  All is well.
Above, I've rotated the canvas and used the lasso tool to draw a shape.
Now Ive filled it with black and makingit a brush  preset.
In the last image, you can see that the created brush preset was generated as if it had been created at 0 degress to the canvas instead of in relation to the screen!  WTF indeed!

  • Problem: Photoshop CS5 Brush Preset pops up only at Monitor 1

I have a problem with my Photoshop CS5 Version and my Multimonitoring Setup.
I have 2 Monitors and if i paint in a Picture shown at Display 2, trying to choose another Brush Preset with Right-Mouseclick, the Brush Preset Window Pops up on Display 1 and not like it was in CS4 in place of the mouse cursor!
Same thing at my office with a 3 Monitor Setup! Brush Preset pops aup always on Display 1.
Any help? Is it a bug or is there a setting i do not know?
    BR

None of you with this problem?
Help would be nice cause my 2nd display is a tablet display for drawing and I would like to use the brush preset right next to the cursor!

I am having a problem changing a color in a selected area. Using the Quick Selection tool I am able to select the area I wish to change. I have viewed some videos and read numerous articles but haven't found the one to help me. Please point me in the best direction. Thank you Vincent TC

For the sake of clarity and to save people time, Todd is asking about the behaviour of the Patch tool when using it to repair the area next to the young lad's head.  Todd gets a blurred dark tone pretty much regardless of the options he uses.
IMO that's what I would expect to happen because of the close proximity of the other image elements i.e. the lad's neck and the strong lines of his shirt.  I would not choose to use the Patch tool in this situation.  Content Aware Fill makes a better stab at it.

  • Problems with brushes showing in Brush Preset fly-out window - CS6

I've loaded a set of brushes I created into CS6. They show up fine in the menu bar brush window, in the Preset Manager, in the Brush Preset palette above my layers palette, but they will not appear in the brush preset fly-out window. This is where I do all the manipulating of my brushes, of course, so this is essential. I have created many, many brushes and done this many, many times and have never had this problem. Any thoughts on what's going on? PS CS6 on a Mac.

Hi there! Because the forum you originally posted in is for beginners trying to learn the basics of Photoshop, I moved your question to the Photoshop General Discussion forum, where you'll get more specialized help.

  • Have a problem with a brush preset picker  in CS5

Have a problem with a brush preset picker. By right click  over your document (if you using brush or cloning tool) it’s open, so you choose a brush and size. But in new version, if your option bar is in different monitor (I am using two monitors one has my working area – document, other one tools), its open only in that monitor, where is a option bar. Supposed to open over your working area like it was in CS4. Seems to me, it’s not recognizing second monitor.

My graphic setting is OK, my CS4 is working fine. I thing it's a bug in new version.
Yes I have extended desktop mode.

  • Define brush preset problem?

I'm trying to turn a logo into a brush but the "define brush presets is greyed out", what am i missing here?  I've created brushes before but can't get this one to work, not sure why.  Any suggestions?

You must select the logo first (or an area round it).

  • Photoshop crash every time I use my brush preset.

    Hello,
So I made a simple brush of a leaf, and after I selected the presets that I want for this brush my photoshop crashed, this happened several times. Interestingly I noticed that if i did not choose color dynamics and change the fore/background jitter, photoshop is fine. But I want to be able to use this preset! Any ideas?
I've got the macbook pro and it's only half a year old, so I don't think it's a problem with ram or anything like that... =(
    Julie

    thanks for the advice!!
i trashed my preferences and it worked!
btw, you can find the brush presets in windows ->brush
and select options such as brush dynamics and color dynamics there. =)

  • I can't adjust my Brush Presets in Photoshop CC when using a Wacom Intuos 2 Tablet.

Hi.... I hope someone out there can help me with this. I'm using Photoshop CC with an Wacom Intros 2 Tablet.   I want my Brush Tool preset to be "Soft Round" so I can create smooth consistently shaped lines when clicking & dragging along the straight edge of a selection.
When I attempt to do this in the Brush Presets Panel it seems to be locked on "Shape Dynamics" with Pen Pressure control.  Whenever I switch both of these off & try to create a different brush preset it will automatically jump back in to the same settings, even after locking the Brush Preset & creating a new Brush. What I end up with when clicking & dragging is a fine point at one end of the line & a soft round brush effect at the other end.  Very frustrating!  I don't have this problem when using a Mouse, and a friend who is using Photoshop CS5 with an Intros 2 tablet is not having this issue either.  Is this just another one of the few glitches I've noticed with Photoshop CC?  Or am I overlooking something?
    Thanks in advance.
    Craig

    You mean this?
Save it as a calligraphy brush.

  • Stroke thumbnail view in brush presets panel in CS5 doesn't represent pressure sensitivity

    Greeting.
Have just installed the CS5 package. Unlike it was in PS CS2, that I loved very much, I can't see whether the brushes are pressure sensitive or not in the brush presets panel of the new PS CS5 version. See the image please.
    Any option that I overlooked?
It's a PS CS5 64 Bit version at XP64. NVidia drivers are fresh. Enough memory and processing power.
    Thank you for your responses.

Thanks Noel. That thread was a big help. I used the last person's suggestion and so far it has corrected the problem:
"We are running the latest driver  (6.1.6-7) and can confirm the fix you are mentioning - rolling back to  the earlier driver (6.1.5-3) fixes the issue.  However, along the way we  also found a more interesting solution - loading a set of preferences  from an older driver seems to also resolve the issue!
We  used the Wacom file utility to clear our preferences on a machine  running the older driver (6.1.5-3), then saved out our default set of  preferences.
On another station, after confirming an  account had the issue on the latest driver (6.1.6-7), we proceeded to  load the preferences we'd saved out of the older driver.  Presto!  The  problem vanished.  We can replicate this by bringing back the issue if  we go back to the default prefs in 6.1.6-7.
Thought i'd share in case this is helpful for any of you.
For  us, it's a much easier fix than having to redo wacom drivers (and  perhaps have other issues!) across multiple academic comptuer  laboratories mid-semester.

  • Saving brush presets

Sorry if this is a pretty low-level question but… I need help with brush presets in Photoshop CC.
When I switch between brushes, the brush properties (Shape Dynamics/Transfer etc) of the currently selected brush seem to apply themselves to the next brush I select, even when it has not been saved with those presets. So for example when I am working with a custom, soft brush I created – with no 'shape dynamics' but with 'transfer' applied –  when I then switch to another saved brush which has been saved with 'shape dynamics' applied but no 'transfer' applied, it doesn't seem to change the properties. It just applies to the next brush the 'transfer' and 'no shape dynamics' presets of the previous brush. I don't think I encountered this problem when using Photoshop CS4 which I worked with previously.
I would imagine it is something simple, but can someone explain what I need to do so that when I switch between brushes they default back to the presets I applied when I saved them?
    Thanks,
    Alex

Thank you for your response, but in so far as I can see, this video doesn't solve the problem. Someone has actually asked the same question as I in the comments under the video. I tried saving a the brushes as a new preset as shown in the video but it still doesn't switch all the applied settings (shape dynamics, scattering or whatever): when you switch brushes – it seems to apply the setting globally to any brush you select. Very frustrating! Thanks though.

  • Can't keep brush presets in preferred size order

I know this is anal, but I like to keep my brush presets arranged in order of size from larger to smaller, top to bottom. Now, after using CS3 for about 6 months, then adding OS 10.5.5, I can't keep them in order. It's like the battery is dying or something. Every time I start up Photoshop, that is every day, I have to go into the Presets Manager and rearrange everything all over again. It's driving me crazy. Note: they always de-arrange into the same order; maybe it's the order I originally wrote them in. I don't know. I don't care. What do I have to do? I'm on a G5 PM 2GHz w/ 1.5 GB RAM.

Thanks for the post. I dug in a bit further. To recap: I've arranged the tool/brush presets just so. If I quit Photoshop, restart or shutdown, upon start, the presets have reverted to a different order. Always the same order, just not the order I left them in. Every single time. The battery is fine. I tested it. Time and date are fine, and all other PRAM details are OK. I keep a Test User, tried that, and I get the same problem. I don't use the bracket keys. I Called Adobe TS and the agent assured me, after on-the-spot testing, that no version of CS in combo with Tiger or Leopard has EVER maintained a list of brush presets in a specific order. All I can say to that is, quote: "Horse puckey", unquote. IF that is the case, then A: What the heck is the Preset Manager for? B: what was happening here in my computer for the past ten years or so? and C: If the Preset Manager can manage to keep the brush SIZE presets arranged in the user-defined sequence ad nauseum, why is it impossible to keep the brush TOOL presets in a user-defined sequence? Can anybody help? I'm getting tired of poking the Preset Manager every day.

  • Save brushes preset without a save dialog

I managed to get the basic code of saving the brushes preset by using the Scripting Listener plug-in.
Only problem is that it keeps popping the file save dialog.
I'd like to dump the dialog and save the brushes file to a predefined file path.
    Is it possible?

    OK. Got it.
If a file with that name already exists in that location, you need to remove or rename it first before you save.
