Brush Presets

It would be great to have brush presets. For example, Lets say I'm working on a hundred pictures and am selectively adding clarity, positive brightness, negative expose, etc. with the brush tool all with different brush sizes, flow, and feather settings. Everytime I want to change to a different brush, i have to set all those settings all over again. It would be awsome to be able to program different brush settings so all I have to do is click once and I have a brightness brush set at +70 with a flow of 30 and a size of 20. I use the brush to lightens someones face and then with one click I get a brush with a negative exposure of 50 with a flow of 15 and size of 30 to bring back the detail in a wedding dress, then with one more click i'm at the clarity brush that I have already programmed to be at 100 with a brush size of 20 and flow if 100 to paint some contrast in the grooms suit jacket and background foilage. I move to the next image and repeat the process. This would save hours of work.

Lee Jay, you are a pest. Those presets are lame. I want presets like I described. They would save a lot more time. Presets A and B only effect brush size and flow. I want them to effect the amount of the effect and whether that effect is positive or negative. In the least, each brush should remember its last setting. So if I switch from brightness to clarity I don't have to reset all the sliders.

  • I can't adjust my Brush Presets in Photoshop CC when using a Wacom Intuos 2 Tablet.

Hi.... I hope someone out there can help me with this. I'm using Photoshop CC with an Wacom Intros 2 Tablet.   I want my Brush Tool preset to be "Soft Round" so I can create smooth consistently shaped lines when clicking & dragging along the straight edge of a selection.
When I attempt to do this in the Brush Presets Panel it seems to be locked on "Shape Dynamics" with Pen Pressure control.  Whenever I switch both of these off & try to create a different brush preset it will automatically jump back in to the same settings, even after locking the Brush Preset & creating a new Brush. What I end up with when clicking & dragging is a fine point at one end of the line & a soft round brush effect at the other end.  Very frustrating!  I don't have this problem when using a Mouse, and a friend who is using Photoshop CS5 with an Intros 2 tablet is not having this issue either.  Is this just another one of the few glitches I've noticed with Photoshop CC?  Or am I overlooking something?
    Thanks in advance.

    You mean this?
Save it as a calligraphy brush.

  • [Photoshop CS6] Windows 7 - How to add "Brush Angle" circle to Brush Preset

    How do I add this:
    To here:
    Thanks.

Reset your Brushes so you just have the default set loaded.
Set up a new brush using the Brush Presets panel. (Probably set Angle Jitter to 'Pen Tilt' but we don't know exactly what you are trying to achieve.)
Open the brushes panel, and click on the little cog icon, and then on New Brush preset.  Give your new brush a meaningful name.
Last thing to do is 'Save brushes' in the same menu, and you new preset will always load with the default brush set.  Or save it with a custom brush set. Whatever works best for you.

  • Is it possible to export brush presets from Lightroom 4?

    Hello all,
Is it possible to export brush presets from Lightroom 4?  I created custom brush presets on my laptop and I would like to export them and import them onto my desktop if at all possible.  Did a bit of research online and could only find this link which only applies to 'Presets' in general, http://help.adobe.com/en_US/lightroom/using/WS2A36C507-E076-4b14-AAC3-87852595D175.html.  Please let me know if this is possible or not as this would be a great time saver.
    Thank you!

Brush Presets are stored in the "Local Adjustment Presets" sub-folder within the Lightroom settings folder structure. The location of the latter varies by Operating System, or if you have "Store Presets with Catalog" checked in your Lightroom Preferences (Presets Tab)....easiest way to locate them is go to that Presets Tab on the Preferences dialog and click on "Show Lightroom Presets Folder"....that will open a Finder/Explorter window with the Lightroom folder showing. Open that folder, find the Local Adjustment Presets sub-folder and copy the brush preset .lrtemplate files to your desktop. Repeat the process on the desktop to locate the Local Adjustment Presets sub-folder, then simply copy the brush presets into it. They should then show up in Lightroom on the desktop (you may need to restart Lightroom first).

  • Stroke thumbnail view in brush presets panel in CS5 doesn't represent pressure sensitivity

    Greeting.
Have just installed the CS5 package. Unlike it was in PS CS2, that I loved very much, I can't see whether the brushes are pressure sensitive or not in the brush presets panel of the new PS CS5 version. See the image please.
    Any option that I overlooked?
It's a PS CS5 64 Bit version at XP64. NVidia drivers are fresh. Enough memory and processing power.
    Thank you for your responses.

Thanks Noel. That thread was a big help. I used the last person's suggestion and so far it has corrected the problem:
"We are running the latest driver  (6.1.6-7) and can confirm the fix you are mentioning - rolling back to  the earlier driver (6.1.5-3) fixes the issue.  However, along the way we  also found a more interesting solution - loading a set of preferences  from an older driver seems to also resolve the issue!
We  used the Wacom file utility to clear our preferences on a machine  running the older driver (6.1.5-3), then saved out our default set of  preferences.
On another station, after confirming an  account had the issue on the latest driver (6.1.6-7), we proceeded to  load the preferences we'd saved out of the older driver.  Presto!  The  problem vanished.  We can replicate this by bringing back the issue if  we go back to the default prefs in 6.1.6-7.
Thought i'd share in case this is helpful for any of you.
For  us, it's a much easier fix than having to redo wacom drivers (and  perhaps have other issues!) across multiple academic comptuer  laboratories mid-semester.

  • Stroke thumbnail view in brush presets panel in CS6 doesn't represent pressure sensitivity

Everytime I open photoshop the stroke thumbnail shows up with lost settings.  I can hover my pen over brush presets and press ctrl+F1 and it will change back but when i open up photoshop cs6 it does not show what the brush setting are with the stroke thumnail and I have to do it again. I know how to correct it temporarily but I would like a permanent fix for this as it is quite annoying. I have tried to open it with just my pen from my tablet and it does not help. I am running windows 7. cintiq tablet.

    Hey JJMack!
Thank you for your response! Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be my issue. I actually think I may be running into a bug with PS6. It seems like the stroke thumbnail preview might not be receiving the information that there is pressure sensitivity turn on my cintiq.
    Here is an example below..
As you can see here the brush I have selected obviously has pressure sensitivity and PS6 is recognizing that. But for some reason that information is not being communicated to the stroke thumbnail preview.
What's even weirder is when you go into that brush's presets the preview below shows the stroke thumbnail fine!
I am wondering if maybe I have some weird preference turned on hidden away somewhere... or if this is an actual bug with the program.
    thanks guys!

  • Why won't CS6 load brush shape dynamics from brush presets?

I have a bunch of saved brush presets that I use on multiple computers and photoshop versions.
In CS6 suddenly my brush presets won't load correctly when I pick a brush.
When I pick a brush I'll get all the correct brush settings EXCEPT for the Shape Dynamics. Shape Dynamics will remain the same throughout all my different brushes.
I've done all of the following steps and in various combinations with no result:
    reloaded my brush presets
    resaved my brush presets
    re install my wacom drivers
    unplugged and re-plugged my wacom
    restarted my computer
    update photoshop
    I'm using Photoshop CS6 (64Bit) on windows 8
My tablet is a Intuos 5 touch L
    Thanks beforehand

    Two things to check
The Pressure Override could be enabled for size in the tool options bar
The Lock button to the right of Shape Dynamics in the Brush panel could be enabled

  • Make Brush preset doesn't match canvas angle

    Hello!
I'm running a demo version of Photoshop Cs 5 on my brand spanking new Macbook pro 2.3 ghz with 8gb of ramalama.
I work on comics and I create a lot of preset brushes as I go, using an action script.  I'll draw a path, and the script witll fill that path with black, make the path a selection and turn it into a brush preset.
Problem is, when I have the canvas rotated, and I make a brush preset, the new brush is not matching the angle the canvas is CURRENTLY rotated at.
For example, if I've rotated the canvas 45 degress clockwise, and create a brush, the brush will be 45 degress sounter clockwise to what I intended.
This is NOT the way CS 4 worked.
    Any thoughts?

    weird new info:
let me try to calrify again, cuz I know it's odd and difficult to visualize:
lets say im drawing a face and i want to add some feather using a brush pattern:
I create the shape, fill it with black and choose make brush, but it will create the brush canted at the angle in relation to the canvas at zero degress rotation.
Above is my canvas set at zero degrees.  All is well.
Above, I've rotated the canvas and used the lasso tool to draw a shape.
Now Ive filled it with black and makingit a brush  preset.
In the last image, you can see that the created brush preset was generated as if it had been created at 0 degress to the canvas instead of in relation to the screen!  WTF indeed!

  • Can't load tpl brush presets (CS5, Mac OSX 10.5)

    Hi all,
I'm using Photshop CS5.1 on my Mac (OSX 10.5.8) and don't seem to be able to load tpl files.
I put the file in Photoshop's "presets -> tools" folder and tried to open it via the brush presets picker. When I browse for the file, only ABR files are shown, TPLs are greyed out.
Any idea why this could be and what I could do to make the preset work?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

Open them in the tool presets picker, the preset manager, double click them, or drag them to the application icon.

  • Saving brush presets

Sorry if this is a pretty low-level question but… I need help with brush presets in Photoshop CC.
When I switch between brushes, the brush properties (Shape Dynamics/Transfer etc) of the currently selected brush seem to apply themselves to the next brush I select, even when it has not been saved with those presets. So for example when I am working with a custom, soft brush I created – with no 'shape dynamics' but with 'transfer' applied –  when I then switch to another saved brush which has been saved with 'shape dynamics' applied but no 'transfer' applied, it doesn't seem to change the properties. It just applies to the next brush the 'transfer' and 'no shape dynamics' presets of the previous brush. I don't think I encountered this problem when using Photoshop CS4 which I worked with previously.
I would imagine it is something simple, but can someone explain what I need to do so that when I switch between brushes they default back to the presets I applied when I saved them?
    Thanks,
    Alex

Thank you for your response, but in so far as I can see, this video doesn't solve the problem. Someone has actually asked the same question as I in the comments under the video. I tried saving a the brushes as a new preset as shown in the video but it still doesn't switch all the applied settings (shape dynamics, scattering or whatever): when you switch brushes – it seems to apply the setting globally to any brush you select. Very frustrating! Thanks though.

  • Using brush presets in Flash...possible?

With the stree of "integration" with the
CS3 suite of products, is it possible to use brushes from photoshop
and import them somehow to be used in Flash?
Basically, I have some great brushes in photoshop that I
would like to use in Flash. How can this be accomplished? In the
Flash help file, searching for BRUSH, I read what I interpretted to
be that Flash CS3 could use brush presets. But I saw no way to
import them, nor anyplace to change the brush presets.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pressure and tilt options for brush do not come up till you place your pen on the tablet and click on the stage.Once clicked they start appearing ,sometimes these options are hidden, you can resize your tools panel to see the options. And slow response is a known issue and we are tracking it.You can refer to this thread for more details :http://forums.adobe.com/message/5454376#5454376.

Same thing at my office with a 3 Monitor Setup! Brush Preset pops aup always on Display 1.
Any help? Is it a bug or is there a setting i do not know?

Help would be nice cause my 2nd display is a tablet display for drawing and I would like to use the brush preset right next to the cursor!

  • Photoshop CC Not Remebering Brush Preset Color

    Hi everyone,
im having an issue with CC with my brush presets not remembering the color.  I've created 4 brush presets (see pics for settings) of which i checked on the "Include Color" to include the default black & white for every brush preset.
aside from the opacity and flow (marked by the two numbers following the brush name respectively) the brush presets are identical.  they're all the same size and have all the same tip shapes.  However, the program is not remembering the color of the brushes and always defaults to black/black or white/white.
i've gone as far as resetting all my preferences in CC and recreating my workspace, keyboard shortcuts and menus with no luck.  these brushes always default to the black/black or white/white brush color.
please help, this is a really annoying bug i just can't figure out.

    hey M Shaw,
yes, im trying to set the both the default Foreground/Background color in the specific Tool Presets as the system default (Black/White).
In other words, i'd like to default the color to Black Foreground/White Background every time i choose one of my Brush Tool Presets.
I work in and out of masks frequently so i like having the default Brush Tool Preset colors to be Black & White.  That way, i can just toggle between my Foreground & Background color to work within the mask.  the issue im having is that when i do choose one of my Brush Tool Presets, it's for some reason not remembering my Black & White preference.  it seems to default to black & black.  does that help?  i hope im explaining myself okay:p

  • Photoshop CS6 Brush Preset Picker Problem

    Hello
I'd like to know if it's possible to tidy up my PSCS 6 Brush Preset Picker?  Please see image.
My brushes are installed here:  C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64bit)/Presets/Brushes
I can't seem to find any other location that would be causing this issue.  It's only happened since I installed CS6.
Thanks for any help or advice
    Diane

Thanks for the response.  I realise there are duplicates.  My question is how do I delete the duplicates from the picker?  They're aren't duplicates in the actual folders.  I've also organised the brushes into folders, restarted photoshop, rebooted and the problem is the same.
Anyone know where the duplicates might be located on my pc? Or how to delete them in the picker?
    Thanks
