Brush Resize in Liquify - Photoshop CC

I try to resize my brush in liquify with my pen, when I resize a few times, the brush pressure resets. I'm just about to explode of rage.
Also is there are way to disable the ALT+ UP/DOWN motion to change the pressure as well? I just want the brush to change size with ALT+ Left/Right motion
Thanks
Video card drivers are up to date.

I'm using the Intuos 4.
I don't use pen pressure in liquify.
I have this issue with Photoshop CC. I tried installing CS6 and I don't have the issue there.
For obvious reasons, I'd like to use the latest Photoshop, so I'd like to find a solution even though CS6 is doing the job for now.

  • Why not enable left click brush resizing in liquify tool?

I'm not sure if it can be changed, but, I've never understood why all the menus to change the brush size can only be accessed from te side of the screen.

You can Alt/Opt right click and drag to resize the tool brush sizes in Liquify.  It works really well and is very fast.

  • Brush resize in Liquify doesn't work

Mac OS X 10.10 (fully updated!)
    Photoshop CC 2014 (latest release!)
Wacom Intuos 5 Medium (newest drivers!)
Normal brush increase / decrease with a keystroke setup of [ and ] works fine.
Opening liquify filter and try to increase or decrease the brush doesn't work at all. Seems the keystrokes in the liquify filter are different (and unknown?!) to increase & decrease the brush size but WHY?

    Solution found:
Setting up the Wacom Intuos 5 and Photoshop CC 2014 to...
    Brush decrease: #
    Brush increase: NumPad *
    Keyboard language: German
Works with normal brushes and in the Liquify filter.

  • On Screen Liquify Brush Resizing Issue

    Hello
I love screen brush resizing feature (alt+right click drag) added since version CS5, it works perfect I can say to be addicted to it.
But I believe after some of the recent Photoshop CC updates the behaviour of brush resizing in Liquify menu changed. Now I can describe it as lagged, graduated, it can freeze forcing me to drag the cursor farther (I use wacom tablet). The same time brush resizing outside of Liquify menu works perfect.
Can the problem be associated with my video card?
I will post the same message to photoshop.com as well, just want to be noticed.

It might be an issue specific to your system, as you mention.
Brush resizing (with a mouse) in the Liquify filter for me is perfectly responsive - smooth and quick, just as on the main Photoshop document display.

  • Resize brush in the liquify filter, photoshop cs6 Mac (13.0.4)

    Hello,
I just update to photoshop cs6 (Mac 13.0.4). Unfortunately, it's not possible anymore to resize brush in the liquify filter by "CTRL-Option-drag" like I did before in former CS6 version.
Has anyone encountered the same problem ?
    Many thanks for your help.

    its not ctrl+option+drag
its ctrl+option+shift and launch your ps, delete the
    setting file when prompted.
    open your photoshop.

  • The "Normal Brush Tip" cursor is appearing as the "Full Brush Tip" cursor in Photoshop CC.

In spite of resetting all presets, restarting, etc., the Normal Brush Tip cursor is appearing as the Full Brush Tip cursor in Photoshop CC. The Full Brush Tip cursor is working as it should.
    Photoshop CC 14.1.2 x64
    OS X 10.9

Maybe in your system preferences you have the Cursor Size set to something other than Normal.

  • I'm using iMovie on my iPad 2. when I import a jpeg from my desktop and use it in a video clip it is so large in the frame it is not usable. No matter how I resize it in photoshop it's still the same. When I take a photo with the iPad it's no problem.

I'm using my ipad2 with iMovie. When I import photos from my pc and try to use them they are huge. Even when I resize them in photoshop they are still huge and unusable. How do I resize them?

I'm not sure of your question.
Are you asking how to use Photoshop?
Or are you asking for the dimensions of video iMovie uses?
It edits in 720P HD, which is 1280x720.
You can make it a bit bigger so you can zoom in.
Much bigger then this is a waste of time.

  • Custom brushes in Flash like Photoshop?

I just started using Flash for my animations and I want to ask if one can create custom brushes in Flash like Photoshop?
Also I imported an embeded video avi into Flash and I want to reduce the opacity of the video so I can create a new layer over it and draw over the frames with the video as reference.I dragged the movie into the stage and converted to movie clip and reduced the opacity but its not showing on the stage when I go to the part of the video I want to draw over.
    I use Flash CS3.
BTW,why isn't the bucket tool & selection tool like Photoshop? It makes shading colours problematic?or is it because its vector?

I was not able to access the mc inside the scroll pane with the code:
    TweenLite.to(mc_pane2.content.scrollpaneBckgrnd_mc.FloraLytell_btn, 1,
I had to explicitly specify that it is the mc I am accessing inside the
scroll pane, otherwise I was getting errors:
    TweenLite.to(MovieClip(mc_pane2.content).scrollpaneBckgrnd_mc.FloraLyt ell_btn,
    1, );
That's OK. It's because ScrollPane::content is of a type DisplayObject. DisplayObject does not contain property named scrollpaneBckgrnd. MovieClip, however, is a dynamic class and enables you to (try to) access virtually any property you can imagine. If it doesn't exist in your particular instance of a MovieClip, you'll get an runtime error.
P.S. If you have time can you briefly tell me why is there  a line of code
    in your sample:
    mc_pane2.update();
ScrollPane::update() measures your content and sets scrollbars accordingly, if needed.
Can it be changed with the size specified for the mc_pane2:
    mc_pane2.setSize(556, 300);
what would be the major difference between them?
They definitelly don't do the same. ScrollPane::setSize() sets size of your scrollpane If you get same results using one or the other function, it's because your content is smaller than 556x300px and you don't need scrollbars so in this particular case ScrollPane::update() would "do nothing".

  • Anomalies Photoshop CS6 - Liquify Keyboard Brush resizing shortcuts & Selection Alt

    New Box HP Z420 Workstation
    Intel Xeon CPU E5-1603 @ 2.80 GHz

    Issues:
    1. Intermittently on any selection - Keyboard Alt key on right of spacebar gives me the double arrow
alt key on left of the spacebar gives me Plus with the submenus.
    2. More importantly in the Liquify (Shift+Ctrl+X) intermittently when using the brushes shortcut resize keyboard key they May on May not work ( { or } ) with the
    tools on the left side
3 For efficiency shortcut keys are necessary - I use the allot - Fashion Industry

Contact Sheet is a welcome return. So many features can be adapted. I made this a few years ago by sizing up 40 images, and turning off titles, and ‘Flatten Layers’ when making the contact sheet. It was then fairly simple to FT each layer to give some overlap, and use Layer masks for creative affect.
It was eventually incorperated into a poster for the organisation running the event.
Some interesting JDIs  (thanks so much for the typed list!).
The Eye dropper changes appeal to me, and Ctrl J now working on Groups is very welcome.  Lots more there, but what worries me is that there are apparently twice as many new JDIs in CS6 as there were in CS5, which makes me think I must be missing a lot of the CS5 JDIs.  is there a list somewhere?

  • Brush resize with [ ] deletes layer

    Hello, ALL!
I have Photoshop CS4 x64 Extended installed on Windows XP x64 and there is a problem with resizing brushes with brackets []. Pressing these buttons leads to active layer deletion. Undo restores layer and resizing work ok for a while, but after some resizes or selection of another layer, the same error occures. I have 11.0.1 update installed. This error is actual for both x32 and x64 versions. Drag resize works fine.
Did someone face the same issue and have a solution?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards / Ilya.

If you are experiencing problems like that and you are in the laptop make sure to check the keyboard shortcuts and change them to some other key on your keyboard. This tutorial shows you how to:

  • PS CC – Brush size in Liquify filter

Hello, who can help me? Since I have Photoshop installed CC works there the possibility to change the brush size by pressing the ctrl + alt key especially in the Liquify filter anymore. Anyone know the problem? The same problem I have with the zoom function. In PS 6 I was able to press the alt + space key and while moving the mouse in the image in or out back. also that no longer works?
I look forward to your feedback.
    Thanks + Regards,

You are the greatest R_Kelly!  Now it works – THANK YOU!
But it´s still a mystery to me because the Graphic Processro was always activated.
when I have checked the settings, following your recommendation, the system could not identify the graphic card…?
then, when I copied your settings and made a restart, suddenly it works. ?
however, I appreciate your help very well. this was the right way!

  • New Brush Resizing is Awesome (plus one feature upgrade request).

The ability to resize your brushes and change the hardness on the fly, rather than using the brushes dropdown dialog, is a HUGE time-saver. Talk about a great feature that I wish had been in Photoshop all along...
The only improvement I could suggest is to be able to switch between size and hardness on the fly, i.e. if I'm holding ALT to change the size and I add SHIFT it should instantly change to hardness. Having to re-right-click makes it difficult to switch from size to hardness or vice versa while keeping the brush in the same position.

Vereyezuhn, you should remember those articles and reports floating around the blog sites and this forum were technically all leaks. There was nothing official until yesterday on VZ's Twitter or Facebook page.
Yes we were officially told earlier (6 months or so prior) that tiered plans were coming in the summer, but we were never given a specific date.
If Verizon truly did not make a statement that the plans were changing until yesterday, that is ridiculous. I know all of us on here have been expecting the changes, like you said from leaks, but not all customers check these forums.
I'm very curious as to why all these changes came about so fast, one right after the other. No NE2 credit, no 1 year contracts, no annual upgrades, and now the very overpriced data plans. It's all very fishy.

  • Inconsistent Alt - Right Click Brush Resizing in PS CS5

Anyone else seeing the new brush sizing gestures working inconsistently?
If I hold down the Alt key and click the right mouse button...
    - Sometimes I see a red brush facsimile that I can resize or make harder/softer by moving the mouse right/left or down/up.  I assume this is the intended behavior.
    - Sometimes I see just an outline of the size, which I can resize by moving the mouse right/left.  Hardness may be affected, but it's impossible to tell.
    - Sometimes I can't use the gestures at all; Alt + Right Click simply does nothing.
I haven't been able to put my finger on it or investigate it in any great detail because I'm usually working on something and want to continue concentrating on that something.  Usually I'm using the Spot Healing brush, or the Clone tool, or the Eraser tool, or the Paintbrush tool.
Complicating matters is the fact that I use both the 32 bit and 64 bit Photoshop CS5, and it's possible I have some setting different in one than the other.  I've been trying to use them kind of interchangeably just to get to know them.
I just started both 32 bit and 64 bit versions (in succession) and tried all the above tools, and found that the second problem above was manifesting only in the 32 bit version.  Then I noticed my OpenGL settings had disappeared again.  I had thought the ATI 10.5 drivers had solved that, but apparently not - at least not completely.  So I'm back to using the AllowOldGPUs_ON registry fix until the next ATI driver update.  Sigh.
After the registry fix, and verifying OpenGL settings are "Advanced" on both 32 bit and 64 bit versions, I see the red brush for all the above tools.
I'll watch for the gestures going away again, and post the edit log (which I have enabled for detailed text logging).

  • Liquify photoshop CS6 stopped working.

    Good Morning,
I have Lightroom 4, Photoshop CS6 and am trying to edit a photograph in Photoshop using liquify. I did a test on a jpeg photo the night before and it worked just fine, I was able to maniplulate the file. However last night when I tried to edit a file from lightroom or any jpeg file now with liquify it doesn't do anything. An example of this is that when I open the same jpeg as I did the night beofre and select for example the hand tool nothing happens to the image as I pull on parts of the image. I have changed the brush size and the pressure settings but no change. Any ideas? I am really new to photoshop.
    Thanks,

First make sure all the Liquify settings over on the right of the panel look correct. Change some if they look correct and play with the tools and see if changing settings fixes the problem.
When Photoshop starts to behave badly often the only to get it back inyo its nor working condition is to reset your userid Photoshop Preferences. Be forewarned if you do that preferences you has set will revert to Adobe default settings.  So you may want to backup your settings before resetting then.  You could also try restoring the from a system backup you may have from before the time it stopped working correctly.

  • Brush resizing on the fly

I've seen several places that you should be able to resize the brush with a key + mouse drag combination. The first one I saw was Ctrl + Alt + drag left or right but for me this just produces a new layer. I've tried other combinations of those keys but nothing seems to work. I'm on a Windows XP machine with a wired Logitech mouse. My PS CS6 is new and I haven't changed the preferences at all so far.

i still don't see any problems - it looks like Photoshop is doing what it's supposed to do
    first:
the levels adjutsment layer was added, and  the levels were darkened, so your entire image appears slightly darker.
Next, you filled that same adjutsment layer with black as your foreground color, so what this did was 'hide' that darkened adjustment layer, so your image returned to normal. The darkened levels is still there on that layer, but it's hidden (by filling the entire layer in black)
now when you change your foreground color to white (just use the color picker to chane your painting color to white), just choose a soft airbursh tool and paint on to the adjutsment layer - now because you're using white, it is "un-hiding", or showing the darkened levels and the gray smear is just the darkened levels showing through- take note of your brush opacity - make sure it's at 100% for starters. If you want that 'gray smear' to appear darker, then double click on the split-circle icon (beside the eye icon on your layer) and the levels window should show up again - then re-adjust those levels sliders again so they're even darker - you'll notice that gray smear on your image darkening as you pull the sliders down.
The degree of darkness that the gray smear appears to be is totally dependant on how far you pull the sliders in the 'levels' panel
for example, you can pull the sliders all the way in one direction and the gray smear will turn very very dark, or pull the sliders the other way and the gray smear will turn very very bright (all the way up until it's actually white)
what you're showing us looks to be total normal behavior - you might try reading up on adjustment layers to get a better understanding of what's actually happening, but there appears to be no problems with your Photoshop or your camera
