Brush Size Keyboard Shortcut

After looking I couldn't find a keyboard shortcut that
controls brush size. Is there a way to set brush size to the
bracket keys, as in Photoshop?
...Forgot to note: I am running Flash Pro 8, but would like
to know if there is a solution in either 8 or CS3.
Thanks.

unfortunately no - trust me, I have tried using JSFL but
found out there is no way - i know many
developers who are much better at customizing Flash tham I am
who can't do it either. Add it to the
wish list for flash 10 (CS4).

  • CS6 brush size keyboard shortcut?

Just started working a bit with the CS6 beta. I'm used to CS5.1 where I can use the ' * ' key to increase / 'SHIFT' + ' * ' to decrease the brush size which does not work in the CS6 beta (Mac).
So: What's the new keyboard shortcut to change the brush size?

Check to see if they are still set in the Keyboard Shortcuts window.
    Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts
    Select "Tools" from "Shortcuts For"
Scroll down until you see Increase/Decrease Brush Size.
That will allow you to set the shortcuts.
If that fails, you may want to reset preferences. http://forums.adobe.com/message/4209421#4209421

  • Brush size/hardness shortcut will not work in CC

I constantly used command-option-drag to change the size and hardness of brushes, but now on CC it moves and duplicates my layer. Is there any way to change this back or is there a new shortcut besides using the brackets?

The keyboard shortcut for brush size should be the same in photoshop cc as in photoshop cs6.
Are you sure your not pressing the Command key instead of the Control key?
Your using a mac or windows keyboard?
You haven't remapped the Modifier keys in the System Preferences>Keyboard>Modifier Keys?

  • Photoshop CS4, MAC, Spanish keyboard shortcut for brush size...

    OK.
I work with an iMAC and a Mac Book Pro.
My CS4 is genuine English language software.
But having bought my computers here, in Spain, the keyboards are, naturally, the Spanish ones.
    So....
I'd like to use the brush size short cuts, which in all English based PS tutorials, are the  [ and ].
But when I try this, it doesn't work.
    Any hints?

Thanks Christoph. I actually tried this with my iMAC yesterday but CS4 didn't seem to accept my "suggestions".
However, I tried it a few minutes before reading your post in my MAC Book Pro, and it worked!!!
Let's see what happens later when I try it again with my iMAC. It may be a question of CS4 being reluctant to accept certain keyboard strokes.. and not others. In the case of the shortcust for brush size modifications, in my MAC Book Pro, CS4 accepted the "." and the "," as the newly introduced shortcuts, and rejected others that I had "suggested"
    ... the mysteries of life....
I'll let you know what happened later.
    Cheers.

  • Not able to set custom shortcut for increase/decrease brush size in Photoshop CC 2014 on Win 8

I am using Windows 8 and PS CC2014 and the issue is that I can't assign custom shortcut to the dot. I have been using , and . as decreasing and increasing brush size and it has worked well in every photoshop, even cc2014 in win7 but not in win8 it seems. It lets me to change the , and just tells me that it is in use in somewhere else but i can still change it. But I can't do the same with . as it complains it being used by an application although I have cleared that from the original place and left it empty, photoshop still recognizes it if I press it although it would be empty but I can't assign that key to anything else either.
Small thing but drives me crazy as I had to assign it to another keys and I am using the shortcuts from muscle memory mostly and end up changing the brush when I had an intention to increase the size. I tried to google this but couldn't find anything similar solution.

I didn't manage to get it to work :c Restart won't do anything and I tried to reset the preferences by deleting manually the file with keyboard shortcuts. I managed to get them to the factory settings but that was about it. Everytime I try to assign "." to somewhere (including to the place where it already is), it gives the red x and says "the shortcut is not valid. It is being used by another application." (not sure what it is in english exactly, I happen to have my PS in finnish unfortunately ). Plugin disabled mode did nothing either.
I have changed that shortcut many times to different versions earlier and this is first time I see that message or am not being able to change the shortcut. And I installed the photoshop yesterday from fresh and first thing I did was making the shortcuts and it gave the error from the first use.

  • Change the shortcut for larger brush size (CS5)

    Hello
Does anyone now how to change the standard shortcut ("[" or "]") in Photoshop CS 5 to increase or decrease the size of the brush? The langauage and keyboard setting make it impossible to use it (French Keyboard, Dutch Language, I know it's a bit exotic, but that's the problem)
    Thx
    Herman

Edit – Keyboard Shortcuts – Tools (see screenshot)
Edit: I also use a non-english keyboard, so I think some shortcuts are out of my reach (like »Select next layer down/up« or »Move target layer down/up«) or at least I never could find them in the Keyboard Shortcuts-dialog.

  • "Always use pressure for size" - assign keyboard shortcut?

Is there a way to assign a keyboard shortcut to the "always use pressure for size" toggle on/off button that sits in the brush toolbar?
It would speed up masking with a wacom quite a bit where you want to use shift-clicking to draw straight lines between points (where you really need the pen pressure controling brush size turned off) and then back to masking around detail areas where you need the pressure turned back on.  I seem to recall Julieanne Kost saying this was possible at some point back when CS5 was launched, but I've never found it and can't find it in CS6 either.

Hi Brett, thanks for the reply.
Yeah, that would be amazing if it could be added to the big list you guys must have for JDI requests... I'll add it to the feedback.photoshop.com feature requests list as well.
    Cheers!

  • Is there a way to create an action or keyboard shortcut to set Crop tool to the front window size?

Is there any way to create an action or keyboard shortcut to set the Crop tool to the front window size in Photoshop CS6?
I find that I use that several times a day. I got used to it being the top choice in the Crop tool presets menu.
    Thanks.

It depends on whether you have the cloud version or perpetual license version.
For the cloud version press  I (eye)
For the perpectual version press  F

  • Keyboard shortcut enable/disable transfer option (Brush Panel)

Is There a way to assign a keyboard shortcut to enable/disable the transfer option in the Brush Panel ?

Not sure for Mac, but in Windows I can enable, disable or change this option. However, according to https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA12024/what-are-hotkeys-and-how-do-i-use-them-mac and https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA12074/what-keyboard-shortcuts-can-i-use-with-skype-for-mac-os-x seems that these options are available for Mac OS.

  • Keyboard shortcut for "Clear" brush mode?

    I saw on this site http://helpx.adobe.com/en/photoshop/using/default-keyboard-shortcuts.html#WS17DDC46E-8F05- 4250-8CFC-EE0AB2E6EF84a
that the keyboard shortcut for CLEAR brush blending mode was shift+alt+R for windows. I tried it but I keep hearing that "DING ERROR" sound everytime I try. Most of the normal shortcuts work but that one and a few others dont for some reason.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to select adjustment brush A or B?

    Hi,
Maybe I'm missing this somewhere but is there a keyboard shortcut to switch between adjustment brush 'A' and 'B' in Lightroom?
    Thanks,
    Jon

    Jon,
On Windows, it's the "/" key. Try Googling "lightroom keyboard shortcuts" and going to the Victoria Bampton site. She has a .pdf file with a complete list.

  • Ctrl+= "make font size larger" keyboard shortcut is not working, maybe related to Windows 7?

I changed recently from Windows XP to Windows 7 64bit, and since then the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+= to make "font size larger" is not working anymore. Ctrl+- to make "font size smaller" is working like always. I tried this with LV8.5 and LV2011 and the missing functionality is on both LV-versions. So I wonder if this is related to Windows 7... Or am I missing something?
    Any ideas?
I tried to switch keyboard input language without success. Then searched for menu shortcuts in the LV options, where Ctrl+= is not listed as it is only a keyboard shortcut and not in the menu. I wonder also why the whole font setting is so nestled in LV, why not just having a toolbar...
    Looking forward for any help.

It works for me. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit, but I'm running LabVIEW 8.2, so I can't test this on other versions. Are you sure you don't have some extension installed that's using that keyboard shortcut?

  • Mixer brush keyboard shortcuts not working

According to Adobe, I should be able to change the Wet  value by holding down Alt+Shift and using the numeric keyboard, and should be able to change the Flow value by holding down Shift and using the numeric keyboard. Neither of these keyboard shortcuts are working. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Adobe means the number keys at the top of the the keyboard, just below
    the f keys.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 Keyboard Shortcuts Help

Hey! Not sure if I am posting this in the right location, but anyway...
I use a Wacom Cintiq with my Photoshop Cs5.1 package and have had some troubles when it comes to a particular keyboard shortcut.
The scroll wheel on the Cintiq when it's set to brush size is using the default "[ and ]" which scales up and down the brush size in Photoshop and is how I want it to be. Though when I am painting I use the eyedropper tool a lot which is the "Option" key. I don't really want to change this as I am used to it being in that location and am not sure where else to set it on my keyboard.
So the problem here is that when I am using the scroll wheel for brush size I am sometimes holding down the Option key so the keyboard shortcut "Opt + [ and ]" is being used which cycles through the different layers I have made. This can be very annoying when I am happily painting my illustration and suddenly I'm on a different layer without realising it.
So how do you remove this keyboard shortcut "Opt + [ and ]" as I don't want it to cycle through the layers with this, I'd rather it be deleted. I have looked through keyboard shortcuts and can't find anything, I've also checked online and cannot locate a way of disabling it, thanks!
P.S You may be thinking why don't I just change the keyboard shortcut to the brush size scroll wheel. Well I have tried that and it seems to be a little bit laggy if it doesn't use "[ and ]".

    nobody know?
