BSOD (ati2vag error), the continuing saga.  Please Help !!

Hi,
I, along with many, many other users with ATI & Nvidia cards, have had a problem ever since the 10.X.X releases of Flash Player came out.  Basically, we get a BSOD when running video through Flash (youtube, many multimedia sites, etc.).  The best work around for me was to simply continue to run version 9.X of Flash Player.  Works fine for me, never crashes, etc., but now, it seems that Microsoft & Adobe have entered into some kind of agreement to make sure the latest release of Flash Player is used.  On many, many sites, when I try and access Flash driven video, I get an alternate screen telling me the content will not work without the latest version of Flash Player installed.
Yes, all my drivers are the latest.  Yes, hardware acceleration is turned off.  Yes, I've made sure that the Active X component was also removed and updated.  Still, many, many crashes that can not even be avoided because you never really know when a link will take you to a site that automatically launches Flash Video.
Like I said, I finally backed up to 9.X and everything was cool.  Except now Adobe & MS won't let you do that anymore.  I have installed Google Chrome and 9.X works fine and I never get the demand to "upgrade" to Flash Player 10.X.X.  The only trouble with that plan is that I really don't care for the Google browser.  I actually like Internet Explorer.  Please Adobe and/or Microsoft - PLEASE just let us use older versions until you get rid of these Blue Screens.
Please.

How do they not let you do that?  You can install any old FP version to the best of my knowledge.
However, what I'd recommend you to try is the new Flash Player 11, currently available as Release Candidate 1; see http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer11.html
