BSOD Caused by connection.

When my brand new iPod touch is plugged into my computer [running on windows xp] I get the BSOD, also known as the Blue Screen Of Death.
I've heard of others having this problem and that it's most probably caused by the current iTunes, or firmware update on the touch itself.
Anyone help? Please?

Hi all,
I had a similar problem: iPod worked fine for 2 days and then started causing BSOD when I connected it (XP SP3).
Doing all the things in the KB did not solve my problem.
Eventually I found out that the iPod is causing a 'camera' device driver to be installed too.
Disabling this device seems to solve the problem.
(Device can be disabled after you start XP in safe mode)
Please let me know if this solves your problems as well.
Bert
PS: Apple, where did you hide this camera...

  • Remote Resources: "A problem with the system proxy caused the connection to fail: End of file"

Hi, I am trying to use "Remote Resources" on the current version of the Microsoft Remote Desktop for Android app, I can input the webfeed and it even shows the apps that I have configured on the server for "Remote App", sadly whenever
I try to load any of the RemoteApps, I receive an error stating " A problem with the system proxy caused the connection to fail. End of File".
I don't know what I can do to fix this, I've tried many things to no avail, also, normal Remote Desktop connections from the Microsoft Android app work flawlessly to the server.
The relevant log is the following:

Now, I know the host can be resolved because: if I connect to the same host but on a full remote desktop (as opposed to just RemoteApp on it) I have no trouble either through 3G OR through my work connection.
Moreover, I also tried directly inputting the IP as opposed to the web address of my server, I get the same error, that is the Remote Resources tab is able to access the feed (because it shows the available RemoteApps) but when I click an app it says it can't
find the Host, here's the log for the connection directly to the IP address/rdweb/feed/webfeed.aspx :

As Bob said, though, this is generally a hardware/driver issue of some sort. I've just seen a case where some malware was causing BSOD when trying to run or install a scanner. When I got the malware off the machine the BSOD problem was instantly cured.

Web Acceleration Client Error (513) - Internal Error
The Web Acceleration Client detected an internal error which caused the connection between the Web Acceleration Client and Web Acceleration Server to be broken. Retrying the web page may correct the problem.
I get this error continuously when working in the ancestry.com website. I have to reload the page on almost every search I do on that website. This is the ONLY website that I get this error message on, can work continuously for several hours on other websites and never get this message. I've talked to the people at Ancestry.com support and they made 2 recommendations: turn of antivirus (did not help) or switch to another web browser. I tried both IE 11 and Chrome Version 31.0.1650.63 m and I did not have the problem with either of those 2 browsers getting this error.
Is there a problem with how Firefox and ancestry.com are communicating with each other?

Hello byron.lewis, many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • ACE Module Cookie Parsing causes Reset Connection

I am trying to upgrade my ACE Modules from A2(1.3) to A2(3.2) . Unfortunately, the cookie parsing breaks when there are illegal characters and causes a connection reset (RST) when there is an invalid cookie, but only on code later than A2(1.3).
The cookie in question is being passed by a third party so making them change the cookie is not necessarily do-able. The cookie has the following value:
    Cookie:  CurrentUser={"UserKey":{"Key":"anonymous"},"LastUpdated":"10/13/2010 1:35:52 PM"}
We are using the following parameter map:
    parameter-map type http CASE_PARAM
      case-insensitive
      persistence-rebalance
      set header-maxparse-length 20480
      length-exceed continue
On the older code, the request is passed on to the server.
Is there a setting similar to "length-exceed continue" that I can give the ACE to tell it to ignore cookies it cannot parse?

    HTTP inspection is not enabled.
Did you mean adding a class-default to the policy-map?
Adding it to the policy-map does make it match the class-default. Unfortunately, cookie parse errors result in the inability to parse both the cookie and the host header as well. It seems that rather than just failing to parse the cookie and being unable to do sticky matching - it completely fails the entire header parsing.

  • Bt signal extender causing limited connection

    Hi,
I recently bought a bt dual band wifi extender 600 and it did the job perfectly for a few weeks but it is now causing 'limited connectivity' issues for all devices that try to connect through it. It is obviously the extender that is the issues as if i turn it off i get connection through the router fine when i am in the same room (as long as i am in range of course), i was wondering if this is likely to be a fault with the extender or if there are some settings i can try that may solve the problem. I have tried resetting nd moving the extender which seems to work for an hour or so but then the problem occurs again.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Adam

Have you tried changing the wireless channel on the home hub, try channel 13?
There may be interference on the channel you are using at the moment, causing the extender to lose connection.

    Hi,
In order to assist you, we will need the .DMP files to analyze what exactly occurred at the time of the crash, etc.
If you don't know where .DMP files are located, here's how to get to them:
    1. Navigate to the %systemroot%\Minidump folder.
    2. Copy any and all DMP files in the Minidump folder to your Desktop and then zip up these files.
    3. Upload the zip containing the .DMP files to Onedrive or a hosting site of your choice and paste in your reply. Preferred sites: Onedrive, Mediafire, Dropbox, etc. Nothing with wait-timers, download managers, etc.
4 (optional): The type of .DMP files located in the Minidump folder are known as Small Memory Dumps. In %systemroot% there will be what is known as a Kernel-Dump (if your system is set to generate). It is labeled MEMORY.DMP. The difference
between Small Memory Dumps and Kernel-Dumps in the simplest definition is a Kernel-Dump contains
much more information at the time of the crash, therefore allowing further debugging of your issue. If your upload speed permits it, and you aren't going against any strict bandwidth and/or usage caps, etc, the Kernel-Dump is the best
choice. Do note that Kernel-Dumps are much larger in size due to containing much more info, which is why I mentioned upload speed, etc.
If you are going to use Onedrive but don't know how to upload to it, please visit the following:
Upload photos and files to Onedrive.
After doing that, to learn how to share the link to the file if you are unaware, please visit the following link -
Share files and folders and change permissions and view 'Get a link'.
Please note that any "cleaner" programs such as TuneUpUtilities, CCleaner, etc, by default will delete .DMP files upon use. With this said, if you've run such software, you will need to allow the system to crash once again to generate a crash dump.
If your computer is not generating .DMP files, please do the following:
    1. Start > type %systemroot% which should show the Windows folder, click on it. Once inside that folder, ensure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to make a New Folder and name it Minidump.
    2. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Ensure there's a check-mark for 'Automatically manage paging file size for all
    drives'.
    3. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Failure > ensure there is a check mark next to 'Write an event to the system
    log'.
Ensure Small Memory Dump is selected and ensure the path is %systemroot%\Minidump.
    4. Double check that the WERS is ENABLED:
Start > Search > type services.msc > Under the name tab, find Windows Error Reporting Service > If the status of the service is not Started then right click it and select Start. Also ensure that under Startup Type it is set to Automatic rather than
Manual. You can do this by right clicking it, selecting properties, and under General selecting startup type to 'Automatic', and then click Apply.
If you cannot get into normal mode to do any of this, please do this via Safe Mode.
    Regards,
    Patrick

  • Home Hub 3/USB HDD causing internet connection to ...

    Hi Guys,
I've been using a Home Hub 3 for a couple of years without any real problems. I recently decided to plug a USB HDD into the hubs usb port to act as shared storage on the network. I initially tried using an unpowered portable HDD which failed to work (I've since found out that the port does not have the power to power these devices).
I then tried a powered HDD which worked well and I was able to map to my network. However with in 24 hours I started noticing very frequent intermintant dropping of my internet connection. Through elimination I have isolated the cause to the USB drive. On removing and powering the drive the internet connection returns to being stable with no problems.
To test if it was just a fault caused by that particular USB drive I installed a USB flash drive (I have read that the port outputs enough power for a simple thumb drive) to see if the problem was recreated. Again the drive was recognised and I mappped it to the network sucessfully. However the intermitant problem has again become apparent. It has again also been corrected by removing the drive from the home hub.
The outages seem only to be with the internet connection. The wireless network with in the home remains up and running without interfernce. The outages are all for several seconds before self correcting and can happen almost continually making the web virtually unusable. For example it has taken me 5 or 6 attempts to post this message.
Any help on the cause of this problem and solutions would be greatly appreciated. I'd really like to avoid buying a NAS etc if unnecessary.
    Many Thanks,
    Jeff

...HDD needs to be formatted in FAT32...
    Hi Nick,
Thanks for that info, and the above probably explains why it didn't work with the drive I tried it on - I'm pretty sure I formatted the one I tried to NTFS - I shall have to test it with a thumb drive.
Also, if you're looking at going down the NAS route, I've also been looking into getting a NAS and have had Netgear recommended to me - I know they're a good manufacturer, and from what I've seen it looks like you get pro-level features (such as RAID 5 (improved error correction/redundancy (for models with 3 or more drive bays)), hot swap (so you can swap out a dead drive without switching the unit off), and so on) at much closer to consumer-level prices - not 100% sure if they do one with FTP/web access, but I'd be surprised if they didn't.
Worth shopping around - there's a lot of alternatives on the market these days.

  • BSOD caused by e22win7x64.sys

    Hey all,
recently I have some issues related with e22win7x64.sys. I believe this BSOD is caused by Killer network manager.
I have checked all possible solutions like uninstall Killer network, and only install the drivers.
Unfortunately, it doesn't help me much. I still have BSOD problems.
Does anyone know if there exist another network adapter that can replace Killer network?

I am porting an ADF application to WebSphere and DB2 and noticed AM passivation goes from file to database. I have bc4j setup to use file passivation. • T43 BSOD's when connected to a Projecter

Ok here is a good one for you guys.
I have a T43 type 1875 that blue screens everytime it is plugged into a projector.  I have other similar laptops (some T43's some HP's) and they all work with the projector without any issues.  This system in particular also can connect to a LCD monitor without causing BSODing.  I have swapped cables, updated video drivers, formatted the computer and reimaged.  At this point I am lost.  Any other suggestions?
    Thanks in advance....

What you describe is not an Apple or iPhone issue.
Talk to Toshiba.  If you chose to pursue the issue with them, that is up to you.  No one here can tell you what the correct solution is.
Keep in mind, all iPhones ship will a wall plug to permit the device being charged from a wall outlet.
