BSOD in Win 7 Pro

Hi,
My system is getting crashed frequently due to Blue Screen of Death. When i checked blue screen logs this BSOD is getting triggered due to CAUSED BY DRIVER
tcpip.sys and CAUSED BY ADDRESS tcpip.sys+6a1e7. Below is the dump view

Hi,
I've analyzed the latest dump files, and all indicate a Appfilt.sys error.
Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

Appfilt.sys  (Application Name Filter Plugin) might be related with Third-Party Application, such as programs developed by Citrix Systems, do you have such kind of programs installed, uninstall and reinstall it, check if issue persists.
Virus or malware infection can also corrupted the appfilt.sys file or related Third-Party Application program files, so it's also recommended to perform a virus scan.
Make sure to install latest version for drivers, if you have recently changed some hardware or software configuration, make sure that your configuration is correct.

My iMAC is a 2011 3.4 GHz intel i7 based with a 27in display.  A year ago, I bought a Microsoft win pro 7 64-bit english OEM OS to install over a newly assembled AMD PC.  I never installed it.  Now, I want to put it on my iMAC using either Apple Bootcamp or Parallels.  The win 7 OEM package has a lot of verbage about using an OEM preinstallation kit (OPK) and that it must be preinstalled on the hard drive.  Is it OK to install this win7 version following the Bootcamp instructions.?

  • BSODs on Satellite Pro L300

    Hi everyone,
I've been using my *Satellite Pro L300 28W* for 2 years now, and since the last summer it's no fun any more.
The notebook is suffering *BSoDs* one after one, making working impossible. According to BlueScreenView, it's mostly halmacpi.dll that's responsible, and the bug code is *0x124*, which is for hardware as far as I know.
I tried everything described on various forums, including virus and rootkit search, updating all drivers and BIOS, checked core temp with SpeedFan - everything seems to be OK, but still the BSoDs reappear. I have nothing overclocked, run Windows 7 32 bit with all the latest updates.
There are no BSoDs when booting in secure mode. If anyone has some ideas about this issue, I'll be happy to see them!

    >By the way, what's that original toshiba recovery image you're speaking about?
The Toshiba image is the package which was preinstalled at the first day of purchase the image contains the Windows OS, Toshiba drivers, tools and 3rd party software like Win DVD, etc
The usage of the Toshiba Recovery disk (which you could create using Toshiba Recover disk creator software) would format the HDD and would set the notebook back to factory settings this means that you should backup you own data and files before running this process.
By the way: the BSOD seems to be triggered by halmacpi.dll. The halmacpi.dll is related to the usage of the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Library with Operating Systems and its part of the Windows OS and its hardware related (Hardware Abstraction Layer DLL).
This means that hardware problem might cause the BSOD
However, try recover disk and check if default settings would help you.

  • Frequent BSOD in Win 7. Memory Mangement, PFN_LIST etc

    Dear Expert,
I have frequent win7 BSOD. the details are loaded in my skydrive named - vy,.
I have a three year old computer running on Zotac motherboard. Local computer expert says time to change the motherboard. But no solid explanatione with him except that the onboard GPU chip heats(as per his estimation).
I am not so sure. Kindly analyse and let me know if I need a mobo change. I have got the hard drive formatted and did a clean reinsatall of Win 7 twice, but it is not helping. The crashes happen more when computer is stressed(no of browser windows, videos,
pictures etc. ) but restarts on its own. No data has been corrupted so far. I don't play games.
Please respond ASAP. I will be grateful.

    Hi,
In order to assist you, we will need the .DMP files to analyze what exactly occurred at the time of the crash, etc.
If you don't know where .DMP files are located, here's how to get to them:
    1. Navigate to the %systemroot%\Minidump folder.
    2. Copy any and all DMP files in the Minidump folder to your Desktop and then zip up these files.
    3. Upload the zip containing the .DMP files to Onedrive or a hosting site of your choice and paste in your reply. Preferred sites: Onedrive, Mediafire, Dropbox, etc. Nothing with wait-timers, download managers, etc.
4 (optional): The type of .DMP files located in the Minidump folder are known as Small Memory Dumps. In %systemroot% there will be what is known as a Kernel-Dump (if your system is set to generate). It is labeled MEMORY.DMP. The difference
between Small Memory Dumps and Kernel-Dumps in the simplest definition is a Kernel-Dump contains
much more information at the time of the crash, therefore allowing further debugging of your issue. If your upload speed permits it, and you aren't going against any strict bandwidth and/or usage caps, etc, the Kernel-Dump is the best
choice. Do note that Kernel-Dumps are much larger in size due to containing much more info, which is why I mentioned upload speed, etc.
If you are going to use Onedrive but don't know how to upload to it, please visit the following:
Upload photos and files to Onedrive.
After doing that, to learn how to share the link to the file if you are unaware, please visit the following link -
Share files and folders and change permissions and view 'Get a link'.
Please note that any "cleaner" programs such as TuneUpUtilities, CCleaner, etc, by default will delete .DMP files upon use. With this said, if you've run such software, you will need to allow the system to crash once again to generate a crash dump.
If your computer is not generating .DMP files, please do the following:
    1. Start > type %systemroot% which should show the Windows folder, click on it. Once inside that folder, ensure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to make a New Folder and name it Minidump.
    2. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Ensure there's a check-mark for 'Automatically manage paging file size for all
    drives'.
    3. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Failure > ensure there is a check mark next to 'Write an event to the system
    log'.
Ensure Small Memory Dump is selected and ensure the path is %systemroot%\Minidump.
    4. Double check that the WERS is ENABLED:
Start > Search > type services.msc > Under the name tab, find Windows Error Reporting Service > If the status of the service is not Started then right click it and select Start. Also ensure that under Startup Type it is set to Automatic rather than
Manual. You can do this by right clicking it, selecting properties, and under General selecting startup type to 'Automatic', and then click Apply.
If you cannot get into normal mode to do any of this, please do this via Safe Mode.

    Patrick

  • File Sharing ML -- Win Pro 8

Both my iMAC and HTPC are connected through a router (Linksys X300).  I have no issues with iMAC connecting to the HTPC.  However, HTPC from time to time is having difficulties in connecting to iMAC.  I have to turn off the file sharing of ML then turning it back on.  After a succcesful connection of HTPC to iMAC, file transfer speed is erratic.sometimes I get 70MBPS sometimes 30MBPS or even lower.  This doesn't happen if iMAC does the initial connection.
Any advice for a more stable connection.  Thanks

You may need to contact AppleCare with this issue it should be working. Prior to calling though I'd recommend on both the MBP and iMac restarting in Safe Mode to clear some caches and also doing both a SMC and PRAM reset on each machine. Be careful the process for doing a SMC reset on a MBP and an iMac are totally different processes. I've listed each below so please read carefully.
    iMac
    SMC & PRAM Resets
    SMC RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    Release the power button.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    PRAM RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
    MacBook Pro
    SMC Reset
There are a couple of things you can do before heading off to the Apple store, a SMC and PRAM resets. To do these:
    SMC RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.

  • Consistent BSOD in Win XP after creating partition

I have a 13" MacBook. I've set it up with OS X 10.6.7 & Windows XP on a Bootcamp partition. I partitioned my OS X HD once again to create space for a OS X 10.7 Developer Preview Installation. Now, when I try to boot up the XP partition, the OS crashed with a BSOD everytime during the bootup animation. When I deleted the Lion partition, the XP loaded perfectly. Basically, the BSOD crops up everytime I partition the main OS X partition. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Aditya Raghuwanshi

    Hi,
when adding a partition after Windows installation with BootCamp you change the partitioning structure/numbering on which Windows relys to find its partition.
You have to edit the Windows XP boot.ini file so that it can find its partition again.
Or use a second Mac with BootCamp.

  • GT70 20D BSoD on win 8.1 - Nvidia driver

    Hello,
I have several BSod (blue screen of death) under windows 8.1. (around one every days) i try to run driver verifier on ALL the drivers, one by one (it's take me few hours) and finally discover
that it's the driver for nvidia (nvlddmkm.sys exactly) that do all the time the BSoD ! (in driver verifier it's do BSoD few seconds after windows start)
I try everything possible, uninstalling nvidia driver (no more bsod but not perfect solution because compatible vga driver is used in place), using the last nvidia
driver (9.18.13.3182 but it's not work) and even the beta driver (not work either)
What the solution i have now ? is someone really have one GT70 20D and win8.1 with the laster nvidia driver without any BSoD ??
Also my win8.1 is a clean install from iso DVD
    thanks by advance

but i can't go to windows 8 ! the only previous version i can go (supported by our company) it's windows 7 ! but on the website on msi they said we can not update the bios with a windows 7 version when the bios was originally with a windows 8 version :( this can brick the laptop they say ... so what i can do ???
and sorry but when i read here :
    http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GT70-2OD.html
    it's clearly say it's work with Windows 8.1 !
So i buy it regarding this ! but it's false advertising because it's never work on windows 8.1 !
it's msi that choose to work with nvidia, so it's their responsibility to say that it's not compatible with windows 8.1 !
anyone with the windows 8.1 can try driver verifer on the nvidia driver to see that it's immediately crash after few minutes
First off, calm down. You're being rather irrational.
The BIOS doesn't matter if it's a Windows 7 or a Windows 8 BIOS. It will work with the OS. You can install Windows 7 perfectly fine on a GT70 20D with it having a Windows 8 or 8.1 BIOS. The bios doesn't effect the OS. The reason they state information regarding the OS is that GT70 0NX's can come with both Windows 7 or Windows 8 pre-installed. Those notebooks can only upgrade to the same BIOS that corresponds to the OS originally installed.
That being said, you don't seem to understand what I said. MSI cannot control NVidia's drivers. If the NVidia drivers don't work well with Windows 8.1, that doesn't mean the notebook is incompatible. The notebook runs Windows 8.1 just fine. The problem lies more with NVidia and the drivers provided for Windows 8.1. I've been over this a million times on many different websites, getting mad at MSI over NVidia's drivers is the same as getting mad at Microsoft for printer manufacturer's not putting out updated printer drivers for Windows 8.1. Microsoft can't control what those manufacturer's do. Get mad at them.
As zipper has said, it does work, but look at what he did...he went through many different versions of both the Intel and NVidia drivers. Most likely you will have to do the same. This is not something we can do for you, you're going to have to do it on your own.

  • DJ 1512 - Won't Install on Win Pro XP 64-Bit

I have Windowx XP Pro 64-Bit and the software from HP.com for XP and Vista-64 Bit will not install.  Both reply with Operating System is not supported.  Is there no other solution as I would have thought the XP version would still install ?

XP 64 bit was a short-lived experiment and very few people ever installed it. It was notoriously buggy and unstable although quite a bit faster than standard XP. There used to be a website in the day where XP 64 bit drivers were collected called planetamd64.com but I think it is shut down now.
It might be possible to modify the Vista 64 bit driver to work with XP 64 bit. It would involve editing the actual driver code text.

What is wrong ? I was trying to install drivers, unistalling everything and installing...
    Thank you for help.

    Hi buddy,
Your posting is a little bit confusing I have checked the specifications on Toshiba website of Satellite A200 and some models are equipped with Bluetooth. What Satellite A200 model you have exactly and does it have Bluetooth model?
If yes I would try to reinstall the whole BT software. Uninstall, restart and install it again
Has Bluetooth worked on preinstalled Vista from Toshiba?

  • Persistant BSOD on Win 7 - HP Z210 Workstation

    Hello folks,
I have a HP Z210 Workstation that has been an absolute problem child ever since I got it. Ever since I've had it, after a few weeks or normal use, it hits a BCOD, and then slowly, from there, becomes unusable until I have to reinstall the whole OS. I think
the problem may be on the video card (I've been testing it as much as someone without detailed technical knowledge can), but I'm not sure. HP Support thinks it may be hardware problem, but I can't identify the hardware that may have failed. Hopefully someone
    here can help a bit.
The problem does seem to happen most frequently from sleep state - but, it doesn't always, which makes this trickier. I've attached the basic dump data here, and can try and upload the minidump and the sysdata.xml files if that would help.
I've run the length of my limited tech knowledge, and now I'm looking for a savior. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • IOS5 times out on Win Pro?

I have been trying to download iOS5 on my friends Toshiba laptop with Windows Professional and the download gets to within one second of completion, sits there for another couple minutes then it times out. We have tried this on two different WiFi locations and still get the same outcome, has anyone else confronted this and solved it?

Most of these apps I don't have, so I can't run the script. Generally though, to avoid a timeout error, you should use a "with timeout of" control statement.
    <pre class="jive-pre">with timeout of ### seconds
-- your calls taking a long time here
    end timeout</pre>
You can use any number between "0" and "8947848" to indicate the number of seconds to wait before displaying a timeout error, or you can use "-1" to signify no timeout.

  • How do i get win 8.1. *pro* for mac parallels, deauthorizing win 8.1 pro and license rules for windows vms

ok, i've seen this question asked a number of times.  i know the general procedure:
    - first download some installer things to a window box so i can make a bootable DVD / flash drive
    - go the mac and use the DVD / usb stick to install the virtual machine
    great.. BUT :
    1) unfortunately, i'm still really confused at the  most basic part which is where (link) do i actually get the initial download thing to create the 8.1 *PRO* from microsoft and where (link) / how do i pay for the subscription key to install the thing????
i keep seeing a link for windows 8 or windows 8.1 where windows PRO is NEVER mentioned.  i ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE a) PRO 64 bit and NOT vanilla windows and b) it MUST BE A FULL INSTALL (i'm not upgrading from windows 7, 8 or 8.1 NON pro..  i'm going
to be installing this thing on a brand new system.
i'm an IT guy for two decades and i can tell you trying to find, download, install a clean version of windows 8.1 PRO is a royal pita and nothing about windows 8.1 PRO is intuitive on the MS site.  it's almost as if they do NOT want you to install the
thing.   i'm not trying to bust jewels here, i'm just being honest and providing feedback that you folks need to make this much more clear and intuitive.  people really shouldN'T have to post on forums to find out how to purchase, download and enter
in a subscription key for a base version of an OS.  it's crazy.
    2) once i can figure out how to download, install and register the darn thing ;)... i'm curious how the licensing works.
2a) first if my windows 8.1 pro experiment on mac parallels sucks, i want to be able to remove the authorization so i can reinstall 8.1 pro on another system.   can i / how do i do this in my scenario?
2b) i actually already bought windows pro 8.1 about a year ago (to upgrade a laptop that came with 8 that i needed to upgrade to vanilla 8.1 then to finally to pro) so that i could windows phone 8.1 development with simulator on the laptop.  unfortunately
the laptop maxed out at 4G and the performance of the emulator was ridiculously slow that it's unusable.  i'd love to somehow be able to put the laptop back to windows *vanilla* 8.1 and reclaim my 8.1 pro that i *already* purchased by removing the authorization
from that laptop allowing me to reinstall the full 8.1 pro with the same key on the mac with parallels.  then i can sell the laptop that has sat there collecting dust for a year and regain my windows 8.1 pro investment vs having to buy another copy for
    the mac.
i have no idea how to do this though i think it should be possible.  can anybody tell me where / how i do this?
note the win pro 8.1 install never went well so i actually had some guy from MS login to my laptop remotely and do the install.. in doing so i believe he wiped away the original windows vanilla 8.1 recovery partition asus put on the drive meaning i'm not
sure i can get the laptop back to 8.1  or 8 vanilla so i can resell it functionally to another person while removing my 8.1 *pro* license from it.   any suggestions here highly welcome.
2c)  once i get the windows 8.1 pro installed in a vm under parallels, i'll have one licensed copy running.  my guess is that is what i'm limited to.  but when you start working with VMs the whole purpose is to be able to create multiple test
enviornments and dispose of them when you don't need them etc.   since the window will be tied to the single mac hw id, will i be able to install multiple *win* vms (duping an exising win vm for instance) from the one license  or must i purchase
multiple win licenses for each win vm on the SAME system?   if you need a new license for each vm, wouldn't i have to do a FULL WINDOWS INSTALL every time i wanted to create another windows VM.. THAT IS CRAZILY INEFFICIENT...
there has to be some kind of option to dup a windows licensed vm on the SAME system yes?  what are the rules / procedures for making this work.
i'm using parallels on mac as an example but the same question would apply to using hyperV (which i know nothing about at this point) as the virtual host platform as well.
i'm open to well thought out links that actually answer these questions succinctly in addition to comments here
    thanks in advance
