BSOD on NB200-10Z while installing Win XP

Hi guys,
I am having problem to install XP on my new netbook nb200-10z. When I boot from USB after the message "Windows is starting" I get the blue screen of death.
I have SATA contoller mode turned to Compatibilty. I have downladed NB200 SATA drivers, extracted them, integrated them into Win installation with nLite, but still no result.
Where am I getting wrong.
Please help. I am missing something for sure but what....
Thanks in advance...

The problem was in bootable USB drive I think. It is important how You make the bootable USB drive. The process of making bootable USB drive is important. I was using WinToFlash and did not succeeded, My friend gave me the bootable USB drive made in another program he can not remember what is it's name and then I have succeeded. And one more thing about Wireless not working on WinXp, it is needed to install HotKeys for display devices and the problem is solved...

    You needs this driver http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-70477
when installing Windows XP you will see probmt to press F6 to add 3rd party driver using floppy disk... yes that right a floppy disk only option!.
or you can add driver to Windows XP cd using Nlite program. www.nliteos.com
maybe the easies option is to change AHCI option from bios that you have already did.
i havent seen any performance issues if XP uses compatibility mode.

  • Bootcamp, Non-system disk error while installing Win 7. iMac Late 2012

    Hello,
I am having an issue while trying install OEM Win 7 Home Prem. 64bit on my new iMac 27 inch late 2012 with bootcamp. I am using all brand new products with an Apple SuperDrive. After downloading the Windows Support files onto a USB and paritioning the hard drive, the system reboots to begin the Windows 7 install; however, a black screen appears and it simply says, 'Non-system disk. Press any key to reboot'. I am not sure what to do here and any help would be much appreciated! Thanks
Also - i read this thread, but it doesnt look like an answer has been posted:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4682842?start=0&tstart=0

Sounds like the Boot camp system that looks for the Windows install system can't see the Apple superdrive. Which doesn't surprise me all that much as Apple has limited the external superdrive to working with only some Mac computers. Yes yours is included when you are booted into OSX but we are talking boot camp and Windows here.
You may need to place the Win install files on a USB thumb drive by making an ISO of the install files and or downloading an ISO file from the "My Digital Life" website for the version of Win 7 you have and then using a program like ISO to USB to place the Win install files on a USB thumb drive. Bad part of all of that is you may need a Windows PC to do that. I am not sure if it can be done on a Mac using Disk Utility and or even if Disk Utility can expand the ISO file whether it can make it bootable.

  • "Error Loading Operating System" while installing Win XP (P6N)??

I have two harddrives (320GB each) on my MSI P6N SLI with Vista installed on one HDD, and everytime I try to install XP on the other HDD I get this error message (when Win XP restarts after formatting). I tried formatting both HDDs and install XP first but same error shows up. Any help is appreciated. Both HDDs are Seagate SATAII.

First off, XP-SP2 doesn't come with every SATA controller driver on the disk.  You might have to create an F6 driver disk for use in the text based installer section.  I don't know with your specific mainboard though.  I had to do this for my MSI P35 Platinum.  Read the help files on your mainboard's driver CD and check out on the net for creating a F6 disk controller driver floppy.  YOU DO HAVE A FLOPPY DRIVE????  If not, you might have to get one as XP won't read the drivers from a flash drive or CD/DVD drive.  If you don't want to buy a floppy drive, your only option is called SLIPSTREAMING.  That's where you make an image of the OS install disk and inject the drivers into it so that during the install process, the drivers are found and automatically installed.  I use a wonderful freeware program called NLite to slipstream my personal/client loads.
Also, you'll want more than 16GB of space for your OS partitions.  I suggest at least 20GB.  Don't forget that unless you use tweakui to relocate your MY <Whatever> folders, they will be on the C: drive.
I suggest you put BOTH OS's on the same drive, just create different partitions for them.  The standard for dual booting is to install the "older" OS first, then once that is working, install the newer OS's, then connect any "data" drives.  This way when you decide on a single OS, you simply wipe one drive, not two.  Going from a "two drive OS install" dual boot to a single OS isn't as easy as just pulling the OS drive you don't want.  Both OS's require the drive the boot loader is on, which is the first drive.  Also, the XP boot loader doesn't play nice with Vista so you need to install XP first, then Vista.
MAKE SURE you install your CHIPSET drivers before anything else.  Both XP and Vista will have all sorts of weird issues if you don't install this first.
Then while in XP, put your Vista disk in and run the set up.  It'll ask how you want to install it, chose in another location.  It'll reboot and come up with the Vista installer.  Now for your target, chose that non-partitioned space on the first drive (set a partial size of at least 20GB since Vista will CRAWL with less than 10% free drive space on the OS drive).  Vista will install there and modify the FIRST partition's boot files by converting them to the Vista Boot Loader.  Once the install is done, boot into Vista and install all the patches and drivers.
One of the nice things with a dualboot XP/Vista is that BOTH OS's will see themselves as C: when they are the active OS.  The other OS will be D:  However, your optical drive will be E: on both.  I suggest you change this before connecting other HDD's (I use I:) so that the extra HDD's will be D:, E:, etc.
After you have your OS's working, connect the 2nd drive and format it under XP.  Assign a drive letter there too and then make sure that under Vista you have the same drive letter.
This method is if you're going to share the same "data" drive for both OS's.  If you want a game playable under both OS's, just install it under XP first, then under Vista.  Make sure to change the destination under both OS's to the same place on the Data drive.  Saves space as you don't have to have a single game installed at two different locations.
I use an 80GB drive split for XP and Vista.  Then I use a 250GB drive for my games/media.

  • K8N sata driver disk problems while installing win xp

I've seen quite a few people have this problem.  I hit f6, after all is said and done, it asks me to insert the disk labled NVIDIA RAID DRIVER (SCSI) into drive A: press enter when ready.
It reads the two files it asked for earlier fine, so why, when I press enter, does it insist that the disk isn't in there and I still need to put the same disk in there??
I've seen other posts where people make other driver boot disks and they work, so what exactly do I need to do, or where exactly do I need to go, or what exact files do I need to make this happen??
my one sata drive is plugged into sata 1.

If you are using only 1 sata drive you could install xp without the F6 option and install the default xp drivers for your sata drive. There is not a lot of difference regarding performance. Otherwise create your own sata drivers floppy(instructions in the sticky) and work from there.

  • How can I install new windows on NB200-10z without a CD drive?

    Hi,
I have a mini laptop "Toshiba nb200-10z" and it doesnt startup anymore.
I would like to do a recovery, but it also doesnt work.
I know there is a shortcut like press the 0 button when the laptop is starting up.
With this shortcut you can start the recovery to reset the software.
But when I press the 0 button it gives me an error.
So I think the recovery drive/partition is lost.
How can I install new windows on this minilaptop without a CD drive?

I have found a much easier way to install Windows 7 from a USB Flash drive. Unlike other methods where you have to write complicated commands, this method can be completed even by those who have very little computer background.
The whole process takes only two steps, run UNetbootin, load the Windows 7 ISO file, and finally restart your computer.
Before you begin, you will require the following:
    USB Flash Drive (4GB minimum)
    Windows 7 ISO Image file
    UNetbootin
Note: If UNetbootin doesnt work, try out the Microsofts official tool called Windows 7 USB/DVD Tool.
Now insert the USB drive, run UNetbootin, and select Disk Image as ISO. Browse your local drive for Windows 7 ISO that you downloaded and click Open. Now Select Type as USB and choose the drive. Once done, it will look like a bit similar to the screenshot shown below.
Click OK and it will begin extracting all installation files to the USB drive. The whole process will take some time (10-15 minutes), so have patience.
Once the installation is complete, reboot your computer. Now while your system is starting up press the appropriate button (usually F1, F2, F12, ESC, Backspace, or Escape) to bring up Bios Boot Menu.
Change the startup order to boot USB by default, usually you will have to press F6 to move the selected USB device on top. Once done, save changes and restart the system.

  • Pdf printer is not get installed while installing adobe acrobat pro 11 in win 7 32 bit

pdf printer is not get installed while installing adobe acrobat  pro 11 in win 7 32 bit

    BlackCat,
    Two things:
    1) Acrobat 8 Pro is not Win 7 compatible, no less Win 7 64-bit copmpatible
    2) Reader X and Acrobat 8 are not a supported combination. Reader X and Acrobat X is the first Windows combination that is supported by Adobe. Reader X and Acrobat 8 will cause problems.
You are using a brand new 64-bit OS, you need to use an application that is designed to work with it. Acrobat X is the way to go, HOWEVER, there are still growing pains with Acrobat X, Win 7 64-bit, and the latest version of Office.

  • Error While Installing Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 on Win 2003 Server

    Hi,
I am getting following error while installing Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 on Windos Server 2003-
    ORA-12546: TNS: Permission Denied.
Above error pops-up during database configuration phase. Oracle docs says- "Acquire necessary privileges and try again." But I am installing as administrator.
    Thanks in advance,

I can't tell you why this error is occurring but you are installing a desupported version of the Oracle database that may well not be supported on your version of the o/s.
Check the support matrix and metalink and see if you can install a supported product such as 10.2.

  • Error trying to install Win 8.1 x64 Enterprise

Brand new iMac 27", fully loaded, 1 TB SSD, 32 GB RAM, running Mavericks 10.9.3.  Trying to install Win 8.1 x64 Enterprise (from MSDN).
Downloaded the ISO file and license and used Boot Camp to install the files and Apple Support files to a 16 GB USB 3.0 thumbdrive.
Used Boot Camp to repartition the 1 TB SSD to set a Windows partion of 256 GB, then the computer rebooted into Windows Setup.
Came to the drives listing, selected the BOOTCAMP parition (Drive 0, Partition 4, 239 GB) and formated it, then clicked on NEXT.
Thought for a while, then it came up with this error message:  "We couldn't install Windows in the location you chose.  Please check your media drive.  Here's more info about what happened:  0x80300002"
Got some hits on Google about issues with VISTA, or with Intel processors, but, nothing specific.
Checked USB thumb drive with Norton, no issues, CHKDSK, no issues.
Have repeated the entire process twice, including restoring the patition and recreating it, and rebuilding the USB Thumbdrive.
Any ideas on what to do?
    Thanks!

More sadness.  I finally started getting the BSOD as soon as Windows booted, and, I could not restart or shutdown the computer...had to power off.  That, after a few times, corrupted my BootCamp partition.  I messed around with trying to fix, but, no joy.
Redid the partition, checked all drives for errors (fixed permissions on the Mac HD...LOT of errors), and created a new partition.
Used USB 2.0 (VERY SLOW) thumbdrive and had all external drives removed, and installed Win 8.1 Pro, not Enterprise this time.
Got it back up, patched it, configured it, put Norton 360 on it (have on all my computers and iOS devices) shut down, and hooked up the external drives.  Booted up and...got the BSOD.
This time I had Windows Debugger loaded, and after the BSOD could reboot, go back intoWindows, and Debug.
Culprit seems to be Norton--in particular a Norton Storage driver.  Will be contacting vendor to fix.
