I've had several BSODs go by, but lost data before I could write it down.  Finally, I got so I could take down data and found:
            0x0000009C (0x0000000000000004,0xFFFFF80000123BC0,0X00000000B2000010,0X0000000000010C0F)
But I have not gotten anywhere at all when trying to chase just what that is telling me.
Also, I have had sporadic problems with my SB 0410 Live! 24-bit soundcard, which have been resolved by removing it, cleaning contacts, and reseating it carefully and firmly.  But after going into the machine's guts today to try escaping BSOD by unconnecting and reconnecting a bunch of contacts, The soundcard no longer seems to be recognized.  Before cleaning contacts and reseating it, at least I was getting signals on the NVIDIA NVMixer spectrum analyzer and such, though no sound could be heard.  Now, none of the several sound apps I've tried plays at all, though I am able to halt play and close down each such app successfully.
I guess that it is possible that the BSOD problems are due to a dying soundcard and that the card has actually failed.  I tried installing the latest drivers, from
http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download2.asp?MainCategory=1&Product=10315&dlcentric=10125&Product_Name=Live%21+24%2Dbit&filetype=1&OSName=Windows+XP+Professional+x64+Edition
by just overwriting whatever was there, and without first uninstalling the card.  Being too bold might have caused the problem, but the installation seemed to go without a hitch; I like to assume that new drivers take care of still-installed older drivers in passing, but I have no assurance that my assumption makes good sense in this particular case.
So, I hope that some of you have some thoughts that might help get me over these hurdles.  I'll be happy to try to provide any additional info that might help your thinking.
While awaiting any possible suggestioins you might offer, I'll try reseating the card once again.  In passing, I wonder whether there is a program that tests such a card's functionalities or otherwise helps one to troubleshoot *effectively* (I've never had much luck troubleshooting with Microsoft's "help".   :-/  )  Wouldn't that be nice.  :-)
                         Thanks!

I should note that the NVIDIA has never been really happy under x64.  I think I gave up trying to get it to work as it had under Win32.  I guess it is possible that there is some conflict between SB Live! 24-bit and NVIDIA, but the system has been quite stable until recently, and I changed nothing about either of those before updating the SB driver this morning.  Soundcard works, now.

I have almost the exact problem with my X-Fi card -- except that the Vista speaker test produces no sound from the rear speakers either. I have a Logitech mouse; I tried disabling the Logitech software and drivers upon rebooting, but that made no difference.Any other folks with no sound from the rear speakers?
My Logitech X-530 stopped working in 5. mode also, and I would only get the 2. option in the Creative Diagnostic panel, and also the Audio console/Speaker window. May have happened after a driver upgrade when I switched to Vista. I finally found the (simple) solution.
I went to Control Panel/Sound, Speaker icon, then hit the Configure button at the lower left (I didn't see this the first 7 times I was on this screen). From there it was easy.
Hope your problem is this simple as well.

  • MS-7926 (Z97 GAMING 9 AC) BSOD + Memory Problems

    Hello All,
i have some trouble with my new system.
    - MS-7926 Rev 1.0 (MSI Z97 GAMING 9 AC) with BIOS/UEFI v1.4 (but same with v1.3)
    - Intel i7-4790K (with Prolimatech Armageddon)
    - 16GB (4x 4GB) Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 1866
    - Gigabyte GTX770 Windforce 3 4GB (working stable for several months in my old system)
    - Windows 7 x64 SP1
After completion occured some unnormal BSOD with unspecific Error Codes even in Idle-Desktop, e.g.. 0A (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL), 1E (KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED), and some others. I reinstalled Windows and drivers again but problem stayed.
Then i used MemTest86+ v5.01. While 4 passes only 1 time an error happened. While Test #7 at 0.0 MB (seems DIMM1). I exchanged DIMM1 with 4 and tested further. Again 1 error in 3 passes. This time at 0.8 MB (again DIMM1). The former DIMM1 now at DIMM4 produced no errror.
I exchanged the board. BSOD are now less often but still there. Again MemTest finds the same strange error only in DIMM1, equally which of the 4 same modules sits in there.
I've found some reports about problems with Crucial Ballistix and MSI Boards and now i wonder if someone has running such combination without problems?
Any other thoughts to solve it?

That is most likely the issue. That is called mixing which is NOT recommended, especially if all of these were separately sold sticks.
Even mixing of 2 kits of 2x4 can be an issue.
If you are able to borrow MATCHED 4x4 set from a friend/colleague from work, then do it so you can test how it works.
As these are Crucials, I would contact them and ask if they could replace 4 separate modules for 1 matched kit. At least Corsair does similar, so hopefully Crucial would do it too.

  • K8n neo2 platnum memory soundcard problems.

I just recently bought this board and im having problems with it. here is what I have installed.
windows XP home edition (all updates installed)
    AMD 64 bit 3500+
    (4) 512 meg sticks pc 3200 underclocked to ddr 333 (mushkin blue)
liteon dvd rom drive (set to master)
liteon dvd burner (set to slave)
    (2) 36 gig raptors in raid 0
    ATI X800 pro
soundblaster live Xgamer (installed on orange PCI slot)
problem im having is when I play everquest or everquest 2 my computer crashes. I run checkit diagnostics that came with norton systemworks 2005 and it says my memory has erros. Ive already sent ram back to newegg bought new ram same problem. at first the motherboard wouldnt install the soundcard I moved it to a diffrent pci slot and it installed. However same problem checkit diagnostics still says I got bad memory and Im pretty sure well im sure that just cant be the case or I have to have the worst luck in the world to get bad ram 2X's in a row.
I did call mushkin today they told me there is problems with this board and soundblaster cards ive been looking for answers on the web and and found none so ive come here in search of some.  Is my soundcard uncompatable with this motherboard? or do I need to set somthing up in the bios to make it compatable (im sure I have latest bios as I bought the board like 2 weeks ago so im sure thats not the problem eather)
    any suggestions?
    thanks.
(note for some reason with only 2 sticks of ram installed everything seems to work fine I told mushkin this they told me it has somthign to do with my soundcard that I need to contact MSI)

I have a Sound Blaster Live! 4.1 (CT-4760), and I do get random crashes. Sometimes I'm stable for days, sometimes it happens more frequently.
Usually happens while playing Enemy Territory. The computer would freeze for about 20 seconds and would resume normally after that. No errors, no reboots, no logs. During those 20 seconds everything would lock, and I would get the sound loop.
But I could blame many things other than my sound card:
    * Enemy Territory has proven to give problems before, like with video drivers, etc.
    * I could blame my PSU only having 16A on the 12V rail (will upgrade soon).
    * Or I could blame my ram not being the best out there.

  • Audition CS5.5 (OSX) + RME HDSPe MADI Soundcard Problem

There is a big problem here with Audition CS5.5 and the RME HDSPe MADI soundcard.
Stereo playback is no problem but surround playback is. This is a 64in/64out soundcard and Audition
seems to have problems with the amount of outputs. With surround playback and the output channels
set to 1/2/3/4/5/6 for 5.1 playback, the output starts at channel 57! Then one channel is left out - the next
playback channel is 59 and so on. Please make Audition CS5.5 aware of more I/O channels.
When I switch to the additional RME HDSPe PCIe card which only has 26 I/O Audition works normal and addresses
all I/Os correctly as far as I could check.
I even have the two soundcards aggregated to a 90in/90out CoreAudio device. It would be great to have the possibility
to use this aggregated device too. RME allows on driver level to combine different/multiple soundcards for ASIO and CroeAudio.
It would be great if Audition can support all audio interface combinations.
The RME soundcards work absolutely flawless on the same machine with Nuendo 5, PT HD9 and Logic 9 so I can exlude
    any driver or setup problem.
Manyn thanks in advance for any effort to solve this.

I have to say that I'm a bit surprised no official seems to take this serious enough to answer to this problem.
Audition CS5.5 is surprisingly good and mainly layed out very ergonomically. Therefore I think a lot more
professionals will be interested in this software. But things like problems with sound card environments with I/O cpability
above, let's say, 32 channels is a major show stopper.
I'm very confident that the problems lies in Auditions channel handling with CoreAudio, because any other (professional) software
runs perfectly with 128 or 180 channels I/O combined.
I read in another post that no patches are planned until CS6. This would be a real drag ... to use Audition with surround files and
higher channel count I have to do work arounds that aren't funny at all.

  • X-fi Xtreme Music soundcard PROBLEM: Microphone volume too low(unusab

Hello, I've spent a while?sifting through these forums and?can't find any solution to this problem. Many people have been asking this same question and?aren't getting any solutions. When I say the microphone is?too low, I mean it's at the lowest possible volume it could?run at,?so it's unusable and?might as well not be functioning at all. Keep in mind every volume setting on the computer has been set to max.
Is their anyone?that?owns a X-fi xtreme music sound card?using a?microphone that does work?If so, what microphone are you using?I'm only?suggesting that theirs some odd settings with this card that only allow a certain kind of microphone to work with it. I'm using an old mic that works perfectly with my sb li've and that I've had for 3 years now. I'll echo the same basic details I've already checked over. They can be found in other customers' posts who are having this?same problem.) Microphone works - tested on other systems and other cards2) Microphone volume is on max - both in recording and playback (although playback is muted)3) Gain is enabled - Ticked +20dB box4) Drivers are current - tried shipped drivers, current stable, and beta release? Here are more links to this problem, which has not been solved yet:
    http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=49623
    http://forums.creative.com/creativel...id=29980#M4984
I?suspect no one?has?the answer to this problem?yet. But could someone please tell me if they are using this soundcard with a mic that is working. If so please tell me what microphone you are using.

I don't know if this is the latest thread but it seems to be. Obviously this is a big prob for a lot of pee
    ps.
I have Just built a new machine and included a X-Fi Extreme audio for the 8 channel sound capabilities for movie viewing etc, but .. I also run Teamspeak servers for several games ( WoW , UT , CS etc) and find myself unable to communicate using said card. problem is mic boost is available in playback mode but not in record mode. If you activate mic boost in playback it does actually increase volume in output mode also (don't ask me why) ...but not by much . Not enough for peeps on the other end to hear you while gaming. So... if you can boost mic on playback , why not on record ? which is where it is suposed to be in the first place. there are a LOT of frustrated gamers out there that have paid good money for the surround experience but are unable to do what previous cards have done well .... and that is allow communication between players . please don't ignore this as this is not an operating system problem.... i have installed this card on Vista and XP (both X64 and 32)? and still no mic boost from the software available. you know the problem .. at least acknowledge it and give an update. thank you?Fly

  • Sound / Soundcard problem

I have the standard Mac Pro 2.66 GHz
In os x everything is working excelent, but in my windows installation I have some problems with the sound it is on coming from the buildin frontpanel speaker, I can use the minijack on the frontpanel for my headphones but I can't get any sound from the soundcard on the backpanel nothing from the line-in or line-out.
when I look at the system preference panel (Driver display list) windows tells me that alle the drivers is installed.
    anyone have any ideers?

This is not a BOOT CAMP Problem. It is a WINDOWS XP Problem. Either he didn't install the drivers for the sound card. (Which is Realtek High Definition Audio) or the Windows XP audio driver (WNMM) is corrupt.
Go to Device manager and under Sound, Video and Game controllers you should see a little yellow question mark under the WNMM driver. If this is the case he needs to uninstall the driver and reboot. It will then reinstall itself and should work properly after that.

  • EIE Pro soundcard problems

The EIE PRO soundcard worked rather well before update to Mavericks.
Now there are lot of problems.
    Read this.

There are many soundcards in the professional field with similar problems.
Can we expect updates from Apple?
Can anyone help with new solutions?
The Soundflower solution mentioned in akaicommunity works only one one chanel

I've had the same problem with my MOTU Traveler. You need to re-set your interface. Instructions for this should be in the manual that came with your MOTU.

  • Soundcard problems on Lenovo B450

    Hello!
I just bought a Lenovo B450 in China to replace my old laptop which had broken down.
Since I don´t speak any chinese I opted to install a verision of win XP that I had lying around and was in a more suitable language. Everything works fine except for the soundcard.
I tried to install the drivers that are provided on the "service and download" page but when I do I get an error message stating "this product will not install before you connect your soundcard".
If i go and have a look in the "hardware" menu I have no soundcard, on the other hand I have a device that is not installed and is called "PCI-device". Does anyone know how to solve this?
    Cheers/ Simon

    Hello Naaman2012.
    Don't format your pc.
The solution might be very simple!
I only want to know one thing from you, can you follow these steps for me?
Click on start > Right Click on computer > Click on manage a window pops up >
Go to device manager > Go to screen adapters  > you will see something like "AtI radeon " or "Nvidia " or "intel" > Right click on it> Go to properties > Now go to the tab "Details" > Select "Hardware-id's" > Copy the hardware id and paste it into your new post.
It should look like (So not exactly) "PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0162&SUBSYS_21111462&REV_09"

  • BSOD bootup problem

i boot up my laptop and BSOD comes up titled recovery, your pc couldn't start properly. after multiple tries, the operating system on your pc failed to start, so it needs to be repaired.
    error code: 0xc0000001
you'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. if you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or pc manufacturer.
i have done some research into this problem and i found a lot of suggestions using the SHIFT + F8 at the bootup when the windows logo appears on screen, but that has not worked for me at all. i have tried doing that several times, but i had no success with it.
i have my original windows 8 pro upgrade installation disc with me, and i have tried the auto repair and refresh, but they do not work. also, i am running the windows 8.1 preview as well.
here is a link to my laptop's specs if needed:

  • Soundcard problem

    Hi,
I have an Audigy2 and recently got a Hauppauge WinTV Nova S plus.
So far so good, everything worked fine.
Earlier I tried MythTV and after installing it and configuring it (following the archwiki) I used it for a little while.
I came to the conclusion that I don't like it, so I removed it again.
    And now comes the problem.
Since I removed it, for some reason, somehow, my Audigy2 isn't the default card anymore, but my dvb-s,
thus artsd fails with "can't create mcop directory" after creating a link /root/.kde/socket-bla and I have no sound.
It's been established on IRC that it isn't an alsa problem and creating a file .asoundrc containing
    pcm.!default { type hw card 1
    ctl.!default { type hw card 1
    is a quick fix.
However, I'd like to get back the original state with the Audigy2 being the default.
    cat /proc/asound/cards
    0 [CX8801         ]: CX88x - Conexant CX8801
                          Conexant CX8801 at 0xf4000000
    1 [Audigy2        ]: Audigy2 - Audigy 2 ZS [SB0350]
                          Audigy 2 ZS [SB0350] (rev.4, serial:0x20021102) at 0xdf00, irq 23
    cat /proc/asound/modules
    0 cx88_alsa
    1 snd_emu10k1
There are also two symlinks(socket-files?) called Audigy2 and CX8801 pointing to card1 and card0 in /proc/asound/
I tried reinstalling alsa-utils and libs and ran alsaconf but it didn't help.
If you can help me and need more info let me know.
    Thank you

Thanks byte, the Audigy2 is default again, however there's still one little annoyance.
In KMix the dvb-s is still default, meaning, if I click on the little speaker, it displays the capture mixer of the dvb-s,
but when I then choose Mixer, it shows the Audigy mixer settings.
Any idea on how to change this?

  • M-Audio Firewire 410 soundcard problem on Windows on new iMac

I've had this problem since I got the new iMac. When running Windows natively, with all Boot Camp 2.0 (same with the older Boot Camp) drivers installed and the latest drivers for my M-Audio Firewire 410 for Windows XP Pro, I haven't been able to use the sound card at all. Everything installs perfectly, the control panel works, but the hardware won't respond to any sound playback. I'm not sure if it's the Boot Camp drivers for my iMac or if it's my interface. It worked fine through Boot Camp with my MacBook Pro, but not the new Aluminum iMac. Using it with Ableton Live 6/7 fails. Playing it from iTunes fails. Everything fails. My interface is basically rendered useless on Windows. I believe it's an iMac + Boot Camp problem, not the interface. Audio program forums didn't help, so I cam here. Hope someone can help. Thanks!

    from M-audio...
M-Audio does not support Boot Camp on Intel based Macs at this time.
The problem is that there is no BIOS on Mac Intel systems and getting devices to work on some XP systems requires BIOS/OS tweaks. Boot Camp works around the need for BIOS; Windows does not. Windows installations are not always consistent and the fact it works on one Intel Mac does not mean it will work on another.
Attempting to install any M-Audio device or drivers in Boot Camp is done solely at the user’s own risk.
Here is a website that has many troubleshooting tips that can help get devices to work on XP and MAY work for Boot Camp; however this is all done at the users own risk.

    For M-Audio FireWire devices:
Switching from Mac to PC the FireWire device may not always load the firmware properly. To get the PC firmware to load you may have to boot into XP then shut down, disconnect, reconnect and reboot. Switching from PC to Mac automatically loads the correct firmware.
If this workaround does not fix your issue, you will have to run the device solely on Mac OS or on Windows hardware.
