BSOD - Updated BIOS - Windows doesn't load

Hi,
I've been running my system since August with out any problems, however today I decided to download MSI Live Update since I've never update anything on the motherboard before (except for the GPU driver). So I checked the boxes to update the BIOS, Audio driver and ethernet and I pressed "Total Installer". I got a message that everything went well and that I had to restart my computer which I did. But as my computer is starting again and is about to load into Windows a quick bluescreen pops up and then the computer shuts down itself. I then tried to start the computer again but I get the same problem. Is there any way to resolve this?
Best Regards,
Jon

oki, it appear to be this version:
http://www.msi.com/service/download/bios-16109.html
Put the BIOS file [E7681IMS.190] over a blank FAT32 formatted USB key,
in a rear USB port of the mainboard, then turn it ON and wait 5 min see if your board can boot from it
I tried it, but it didn't resolve the problem :(

It won't enter UEFI/BIOS now to change the settings?
Nope, after I cleared CMOS and I try to start the computer this happens:
I got no reaction on my monitor while this is happening.

  • Update to windows 8.1 Load MMdriver not responding

After I updated my windows 8 professional to windows 8.1, first the graphics drivers stopped working. So I downloaded the intel and amd graphics driver form hp support page.
Now the intel graphics is running fine, but the amd graphics driver is not working. Everytime the laptop starts after 1-2 minutes "Load MMdriver application has stopped working" error comes which disables the highperformance ATI graphics.
Please help what can be done here to solve this issue.
I downloaded http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59501-60000/sp59936.exe which is dated 2012-11-26 but still is the only driver which actually installs, other lates drivers from the amd abruptly stops through install. Also it is recommended from hp support page for my laptop.
    My laptop specs

    Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3632QM CPU @ 2.20GHz, 2201 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
    Radeon (TM) HD 7670M
    Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000

I found this thread sometime ago as I have had the same problems installing the graphics.
    HP Pavilion dv7-6b01tx
Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz
Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 on board
    AMD HD 6700M card
    8Gb ram
    17" 1920x1080 monitor
My issue is now the 'Load MM driver....' but it is deeper than that.
My laptop came with W7 preinstalled and I have since upgraded to W8.1 and got nothing but more problems.
At my last rebuild (I am up to double figures on complete rebuilds trying to fix this) I followed the specific order of installation as given here, chipset, mei etc, I even disabled windows automatic 'look for missing drivers option' so that it didn't install my graphics card itself.
Every time the onboard graphics installer tells me that my laptop doesn't meet the minimum requirements and exits. Eventually I found that doing a windows update at that point (again trying to avoid an auto install of the graphics card) would install the onboard device, then onto the graphics card. Going to Intels site didn't help. (Hope your following this).
This has been the best result to date, apart from the MM driver issue, which is not every time and the fact my screen stays blank after closing the lid (open and close a couple of times fixes that). That may give you the idea of just how hopeless this has been. It also stopped the regular BSOD's that I'd been getting, that's yet another issue.
The fact that I found the 'strict installation routine' on a forum and not on HP's site points to deeper problems.
During one rebuild I left all the drivers off and used the HP site to discover my machine (it did) and check for missing drivers, it came back that everything was up to date. I laughed like a drain at that one.
What has brought me here has been recent, impromptu, discussions with other people and because this issue is the most typical example of the 'HP disease' I could find. Those conversations were basically mocking me, or trying to, for ever buying a HP in the first place. I contended that I'd broken a lifetimes promise that I would never buy a HP, but this machine was about the only choice at the time that met my requirements. Don't get me wrong I don't regret buying it, when it works, well ok when the faults are bearable (error messages, drivers not loading, BSOD, weird shut downs), it is a really nice machine.
HP no doubt will take the view that they sold me a machine with W7 on it and it is now 18 months past warranty. That they are being 'nice' to provide support for another operating system. Not the best way to get returning customers and the simple fact that it really wasn't any better with W7, there was a time when the family knew this laptop by the nickname 'Bluescreen'.
I can't ever really be totally down on HP, I did make good money some 15 years ago going round fixing folks computer problems, without HP I would have gone broke very very quickly.
So there it is, reading the replies on this thread just tell me, don't waste your time mate, HP is simply HP and that will never change. When this machine finally goes belly up (most folks think I've doen well to get to 2.5 years use, I back up everyday) then I will return to that 'lifelong' promise that I broke and simply pay what it takes to get a proper machine with porper support made by proper computer people.
    Ah, that feels better!

  • "adobe updater preferences" window doesn't show

i have the newest adobe reader X and im trying to disable auto update as it says in many instructions on the net
the problem is that i cant get to "Adobe Updater Preferences" window which is necessary to do this - the instructions says that it should appear after clicking "Help"-"Check for Updates" but i see only software checking for updates, completes the check and informing me about any new updates AND THAT'S ALL. just the information that there are no any new updates. there are no any "preferences" option or something as it shows for example below:
    http://www.chotocheeta.com/2007/11/01/turn-off-adobe-auto-update/
any idea whats going on? all sites says that this window should be there...

i did this before i started this thread ("do not download or install updates automatically")... it doesnt change anything.
really, wouldnt be life easier if people would disable auto update on SAME window where updates popup? why we must spend our time for searching something that could be just next to info about new updates waiting for download? then wouldnt be this and thounds of other threads :/

  • Updating BIOS, Windows won't run the exe

I'm running Win7 Pro x64 and I want to update the BIOS on a a55m-p33 mobo. Live update just says 'download fail', so I've downloaded the file separately and put it on a pen drive as per the BIOS Update SOP. When I run the exe it says it isn't compatible with this version of Windows.
Anyone know why that would be?
    Thanks.

    >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<< and point to the uncompressed archive from MSI or create a dos bootstick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0), put the .exe on it and start it in dos (also described in the BIOS Update SOP).

  • My Macbook Pro auto update, now it doesn't load and OS.

My Macbook had what looked like an auto update which I just accepted and now it won't load the Lion OSX at all.  It won't even load "Safe Mode." I don't know what to do as it now just says I have to turn it off in four different languages.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the disk image (dmg) file to the desktop
    *Firefox 8.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
*Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
*Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data if you uninstall and (re)install Firefox.

  • Ever since the "update" itunes store doesn't load.

I haven't been able to access the itunes store on my iphone 4s since the update.  It is just a blank screen with the icons listed along the bottom.  I have synced the phone with my itunes acct. on my computer.  I have signed out and signed back in.  I have run a diagnostic on my phone through the apple.com (everything checked out).  I have tried to get support from apple.com but keep going around in circles.  Before I call or visit a store I thought I'd check to see if anyone else has had this problem and if he/she was able to correct it.  Any advice or suggetions would be greatly apprectiated.

    Hello, KAS225.
There are a couple of things you can try.  The first would be to reset all settings.  Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings.
If the issue persists, try signing out of all services that require signing into your Apple ID and then signing back in.

  • After today latest update Firefox doesn't load Mafia Wars (on Facebook), but it loads other web sites. Chrome loads it alright.

After latest (today) Firefox automatic update Mafia Wars doesn't load on Firefox. Other sites do load ok. Chrome loads Mafia Wars ok.
I can't load Mafia Wars from Facebook, neither from Zynga directly. Only think I get is a blank page.
I downloaded and installed latest Java and Flash to no avail.

This issue exists for me on a clean installation of Windows 7 64bit running Firefox 7.0.1 with all addons disabled and the cache cleared out. Even with additional cleaning using CCleaner the problem persists.
This problem also exists on my work Win7 64bit box running Firefox 6.0.2 and Windows XP Pro SP3 running Firefox 7.0.1.
My roommates who run Windows Vista are unaffected.

  • Bsod after bios update 1.4 - 1.5 + Windows automatic repair loops

After i updated my bios with liveupdate5 my computer started acting up with endless automatic repairs for w8.1 and random bsods for w7. Changing bios settings and restoring defaults does not solve the issue :-/
Is it possible to revert back to the 1.4 somehow?

v1.5 was released 3 months ago.

Did you clear the CMOS (and reload the default settings) after the BIOS update?
hm true, weird how they just now was displayed in the live update. No, I havent done any type of manual cmos clearing, but it would seem that the live update takes care of that as far as the instructions goes.
Patching back to 1.4 without any light in the tunnel. The computer still does no longer boot futher than the windowslogo before bsod. Reinstalling windows does not help :-/

  • New Icloud Terms and Conditions window pops up every time I try to check my email, or when I open setting. My email doesn't load because of this, so I haven't been able to check my email for months.

'New Icloud Terms and Conditions' window pops up every time I try to check my email, or when I open setting. My email doesn't load because of this, so I haven't been able to check my email for months. When I click, 'view terms' it takes me to my Icloud section in settings, but the terms don't pop up. I plugged it into my iTunes to see if it would pop up, but that didn't work either. My phone is updated, and I'm pretty sure I already accepted the new terms and conditions on the last update a few months back.

    Hi munaxnight,
If you are having issues with your iPhone continuing to ask you to accept terms and conditions, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPhone -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

You will need to run the IPIBL-LB Motherboard BIOS v5.43 Update on Windows Vista or Windows 7. It is unlikely that the update will succeed when run on Windows 8 / 8.1. Additionally, this update doesn't address your issue and will not solve your problem.
The GTX 750 Ti graphics card is incompatible with your HP Pavilion a6652f Desktop Computer and its IPIBL-LB (Benicia) motherboard. Current generation graphics cards will not work with your computer and you will need to purchase a graphics card that is one generation old... such as the GTX 650 Ti / GTX 660 Ti.

  • Update fails and Embedded Youtube videos doesn't load

Problem 1: All update (beta, RC) fails in my computer. After download, when I click in apply button, Firefox closes and a process "firefox.exe"starts with (~2.800 kB) and nothing happens. Every time and every versions in my 2 computers (Vista and Seven). It occurs since ~10 version (9, 10, 11... i don't remember.
When I download the exe from Mozilla, the update works.
Problem 2: Since the ~10 version or flash version, mostly embedded youtube videos doesn't load in firefox (in all pcs again). In youtube site it works, but embedded only shows a black square. In Google Reader it occurs all the time.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version of the Firefox installer.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 15.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

I have recently upgraded my operating system from Windows 7 pro to Windows 8 pro. I have alos changed the CPU to a pentium D, The power supply and the graphics card but I am having from with my SD ram and temperature displays.
I want to upgrade my bios if possible due to all the upgrades, when I looked in this site it doesn't mention windows 8 operating system with my PC? My system info is below.
Compaq Presario SR2129UK bios update for windows 8 pro 32bit.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi:
The only BIOS update for your model is for Windows Vista (v5.23).
There aren't any newer BIOS releases than that one.
You would need to be running Windows Vista in order to update the BIOS, or you would run a better than 99% chance of completely wrecking your PC.
