BSOD when installing windows 7 drivers using bootcamp in macbook pro late 2013

I followed the bootcamp instructions and installed windows 7 in my macbook pro 13 inch late 2013. But when the bootcamp starts to install the required drivers, halfway through the computer goes to BSOD. And after restart windows shows many error messages of "validation error".
I have a student licensed windows 7 professional.

I had the same problem. I  was installing a Debug Build of Windows 7 on MacBook Pro 15" Late 2013 with a student license and it would die with BSOD while running BootCamp at the end of Windows installation. I solved the probelm by downloading a non-Debug version of Windows 7 Professional with Service Pack 1 and re-trying the installation from scratch. That is, I went back to OS X, launched BootCamp Assistant, erased the previous partition of Windows and re-created it again. After that, I installed a fresh copy of the right flavor of WIndows and it worked flawelessly.

You can install Windows 8.1 using Boot Camp Assistant or by using a virtual machine like Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox.

  • Problem installing Windows 8 via Bootcamp on MacBook Pro 13 (late 2009).

    Hello,
I've installed Windows 8 Pro on my MacBook Pro 13 (Late 2009) which does not support Windows 8. I've started installing Windows 7 via Bootcamp, then interupted the installation and pluged-in the Windows 8 Disk, and after formating the partition, I've installed Windows 8 64-Bit.
Here is the problem. The Windows works fine, BUT after restart when I hold 'Alt' and choose EFI Boot (Windows 8's partition), Windows 8 starts loading but then suddenly there is a white flash and it restarts again. So after shut down or restart I cannot boot it.
Do you think that this is because I do not have Bootcamp installed on the Windows 8?
I've downloaded the supported software for Windows 8, but when I click setup.exe, it is giving me the following error:
This version of Bootcamp is not intended for this computer model. I've been trying to install it for more than 78 hours, so I'll be extremely gratefull to whoever help me. Thank you in advance.
P.S. Mac OS X partition boots fine.

If it is really not possible, I get it. But there are plenty of people that are running Windows 8 on the same model, that is powerfull enough to run Win 8. I'm actually running it, but until shut down or restart . Can't I edit Info.plst file alternative for Windows 8 like I did to allow BootCamp to image burn my USB on my model? I mean my model is same as the next one. I can't see why the drivers for mid 2010, won''t work on mine...

  • Error 0x80300024 When Installing Windows 7 Using Bootcamp

Hi.  I'm trying to install windows on my mac mini.  I have a 2010 mini server with dual 500gb hard drives.  I want to have one disc for apple and the other disc for windows.  When I try the install I get the windows error 0x80300024.  After some research I found a straightforward, but not easy solution.  It seems windows freaks out when it sees more than one physical hard drive.  Therefore the solution is to disconnect the cables for the other hard drive, install windows on the target drive, then reconnect the cables to the other drive.  I rather not tear open the mini and do this as it looks a little painful.  Anyone have a suggestion on how to get around this?  And yes, I know it's a windows issue but i figured there must be some mini users who've experienced this issue.
    Thanks.
    Craig

    Hi Graig,
One possble solution here, with maybe alt key to boot your Windows installer instead of the c key...

I just installed it today (twice actually, after changing my mind about something) so I can tell you how to do it. What I did was completely ignore Boot Camp and used Disk Utility to format the intended Windows drive as FAT32/Master Boot Record. Then I just rebooted with C held down and the Windows 7 CD took care of the rest.
I have a 2009 Mac Pro so all my drivers etc were on my OS disc. If you need to burn the drivers, by all means use Boot Camp just for that part
I got a warning in Windows 7 that Boot Camp had issues with the RC but it has been rock solid so far.

  • When installing Windows 7 using Bootcamp, expanding windows files gets stuck at 65%?

I was installing Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on my Macboom Pro Retina with Bootcamp, and when it reached the "expanding windows files" stage, it got stuck at 0%. I waited a few minutes, and the percentage began to increase until it got to 65%, at which it stopped again. I left it for a while, but after coming back nearly an hour later, it was still stuck at 65%, so I canceled the installation by clicking the close button of the installation window. It froze after that. I could move my cursor, but I couldn't click anything. I got impatient and held down the power button to shut it down manually. When I restarted the Mac, it played the normal startup sound then went to a black screen with a blinking dash symbol in the upper left corner. It's now stuck on this screen. I'm scared I might have really screwed up my computer. What do I do?

Edit: Fixed it by just holding down the option key when it restarted. Don't know why I didn't think of that before. I also removed the partial Windows download and the whole Windows disc partition using Bootcamp.
I think the reason why it didn't work is because I used an OEM version of Windows 7, which is to say I bought the licence key off of some website for $35 and they emailed me with the key and an .iso of Windows 7. I read somewhere that using OEMs with Bootcamp is not recommended. But that leads me to another problem - I really do want Windows on my Mac since I have some programs that would only run on Windows and I bought PhotoShop Elements 12 for the Windows platform and to switch platforms I would need to upgrade to 13, which costs almost as much as buying the original. And I don't want to go buy a proper Windows installation disc, that would mean wasting the $35 I already spent.
So is there any way I can actually install Windows safely with my OEM version of it?

  • Installing windows 8 through bootcamp on macbook pro mid 2010

i know there are a lot of posts about this but i've not seen anything to help me.  i have a mid 2010 macbook pro with maverick installed and completely updated.  i'm want to try bootcamp to install windows for my database class that is using microsoft office and access (i'm getting the software for free from school and it is not the mac friendly versions).  i can use virtual box but i really want to try boot camp just because i've not used it before.
i open up boot camp and follow the prompts of downloading windows support from apple and install windows 7 to my 32gb flash drive (which is fat formated).  the message i get when doing anything is that this software is not on the support software server.
i have downloaded the bootcamp 5.0 support software directly from apple's website and it is unzipped on my flash drive.  i also already have windows 8 iso ( i also have windows 7 if i can't do 8).  even though i already have the support and os iso on my flash drive bootcamp still wants to down load them.  can i bypass this step and move on?  do i need to have a partition on my hard drive already made.
basically i need some to see what else i need to do to prepare my system and/or steps i have missed to install windows 8.  thanks for any assistance you can give me.

I DOWNLOAD BOOT CAMP 5 THEN INSTALL WINDOWS 8 PRO.
AND I UNZIPPED ON MY FLESH DRIVE TO HAVE DRIVERS READY.
BUT THE WINDOWS DOESN'T EXCEPT PRODUCT KEY.

  • Installing windows 8.1 on new mac pro (late 2013)

    Greetings,
First time poster so forgive me if I mess up protocol.
I'm trying to install Window 8.1 on my new late 2013 Mac Pro via bootcamp.
I have followed all the steps in bootcamp and the installation fails saying "cannot update boot configuration".
I tried using a few methods I saw people on here had success with creating their own partitions with disk utility, but I still have not had success.
My system is the 6 core version, 16gb RAM, 512gb flash storage, D500 graphics cards
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem with my brand new MacPro (6-Core, D700, 1tb SSD)
I have called Apple support to report this issue, in the mean time I've done the following tests:
    Windows 7/8 tests NO Joy...
I have also tried tricking the windows 8 installer by doing the following.
1)Boot of Windows 8 installation (USB)
2)At the setup screen it will ask you to format your boot camp created drive to NTFS so that windows can be installed.
After the formatting is done and windows is ready to install i swap the Windows 8 USB stick for a Windows 7 USB stick then I click on next.
3)Windows starts copying the files just like it did on the Windows 8 installation and I get the same error.
    "Can't update boot configuration"
I guess it has nothing to do with the Windows USB Stick since I've tried installing Win 7/8 and 8.1 with the exact same error.
I have not received any news from Apple support on this issue.
Any other ideas or suggestions ?
    Thanks!

  • What drivers do I use when installing windows 7 on macbook pro late 2013?

I purchased a new macbook pro from bestbuy. I would like to install windows 7 using bootcamp. Now I have read online that macs come with a driver cd well mine didn't and I got it new in sealed apple box..
What or how can I go about getting windows 7 to fully work on bootcamp.. I've yet to try to install windows 7 yet beacuse I am lost when it comes to this cd and the drivers...

    See -> http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1636/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_ 10.8.pdf.
In addition to the Windows disc (or USB flash drive with the Windows installer) you'll need a 8GB+ flash drive.
The referenced manual - on page 3, I think, gives you a run-down of what you'll need before you begin the installation. You may also want to post any further Boot Camp questions in the Boot Camp forum -> https://discussions.apple.com/community/windows_software/boot_camp.
    Good luck,

  • How can I install Mac Mini drivers for Windows 7 32-bit if I didn't install Windows 7 using bootcamp?

Hello. I have a mac-mini (mid 2010) and with bootcamp, was successfully running XP.
I then decided to upgraded to Windows 7 had lots of trouble installing it on my existing bootcamp partition.
I finally was able to install Windows 7, by just booting off the CD and letting it install that way.
But reading more on it, I think I was supposed to use Bootcamp to do it for me...
I had thought the Bootcamp Assistant was for only fresh installs of a Windows O.S. where no partitiion existed previously.
I had a partition so thought Bootcamp wasn't required for my needs.
But now, inside Windows 7, I have 0 drivers installed. I have an AirPort Express, so on the Mac side, I downloaded
and installed the Windows version of AirPort Utility and copied it to my USB stick. Then
I exported my settings to a text file on a USB Stick, then on Windows was able to successfully install AirPort Utility and import the settings.
But it still doesn't find my network. I am pretty sure I'm broadcasting my SSID...
So I need to know the following:
    1) How to know I'm broadcasting my SSID - where do I find this in settings?
    2) How I can install my mac-mini drivers on Windows 7 so I can use my existing wireless network, now that I've gone through the installation without using Bootcamp?
    3) Do I need to set up network adapters and all that stuff in Windows 7 first? If so, how and what drivers do I need?
One other thing I tried was downloading Bootccamp 4.x and installing that on Windows 7 to see if it gives me the drivers that were supposed to be written to my USB stick if I had installed Windows 7 using Bootcamp in the first place... However I think the message it said was that it couldn't install as it was the wrong version. So I'm still stuck without drivers and therefore no internet.
And that is my main task - getting the Internet up and running in Windows 7.
    Other Info:
I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8 with 2 GB of memory.
I installed the 32-bit version of Windows 7 and I don't know what version of Bootcamp I'm running...
I can tell you that BootCamp Assistant is v3.0.4, but don't know if that means Bootcamp is also 3.0.4.
    Hope you can help.
    Thanks.

I tried something that worked for me...
Knowing that after my install of Windows 7 wasn't the correct method (didn't go through bootcamp), and the BootCamp 4.x package wouldn't install under windows 7, I tried reinstalling Bootcamp 4.x in Windows 7 to see what the exact message was it gave me. The message said it couldn't install because of a 32-bit O.S. vs a 64-bit version of the package.
So that got me thinging - my XP version was 32-bit, and so is my Windows 7 installation. So I tried installing the bootcamp that came with my Mac OS X installation CD. This is bootcamp version 3.1.
Not only did it install, but it practically took care of everything driver-wise for me. I was then able to see my wireless network, enter my password and I was connected. The only thing else I had to do to get on the Internet was bring IE8 online (guess it ships offline by default). Firewall and Antivirus are now installed, just a few more things to go.
That's one thing that's just not clear that I'll be sure to note for next time... The Bootcamp packages you download are actually driver packages for Windows. That is where the Windows drivers exists that are necessary to make your Windows 7 PC work on a bootcamp partition!
I didn't need the AirPoirt Utility at all (at least, I never went into it).
Thanks VikingOSX for your post. I will not need to follow the steps you provided, but they may help someone else as all of these bootcamp issues I've been reading seem to be very unique per installation.
    Hopefully my solution helps others.

I am trying to install Windows 7 using Bootcamp Assistence 5.0 on a MacBook Pro Retina OSX 10.8.2, I went through all steps on Creatting the Windows 7.iso into a bootable USB Dirve 16GB I use a separate USB Drive 2 GB and download Windows Support Drivers Step 2 on bootcamp assistence. I run into the problem in step 3 when the computer reboot I just get a black screen the back display still on like I can still see the apple on the back lit up, but the screen is black and wont load the window installer, if i shut it down and bring it back up i get error saying IOS not found so then i have to shut it down, enter recovery and restart on osx partition, i can see that the bootcamp partition was created but cant load windows to it. Please can anybody help me or guide me on what i am doing wrong? thank you so much in advance

this will install as normal. before installing however you will need an activation key cos in win 7 this is one of the first pages that is presented before instalation.
the key from your relative could possibly work especially if he used your internet connection to register. but this could cause problems with his/your authenticity after 30 days.
the only other option is to purchase a key.
you say a 30 day trial, does it give you a temporary key for this?

My first thoughts were that 'bootcamp' was out of date...needed an upgrade to register windows 7. Since then I am once again met with the same problem... how can it not see the I have already have a paritioned drived ready to be used for installition, is there a way to fix this problem? I don't really want to pay out for 'i-parition' only to merge my 2 drives back into one and start again from scratch =/. Seems silly to do so...what are my options?
Regards Swishi...p.s If anyone can help me...it'll make my day :3.

    ONE PARTITION.
You don't need to buy anything but you should have backups.
you can delete #2 you created. Then resize to full drive.
    There are already
    GPT
    EFI
    Mac
    Recovery
and there needs to be Windows which cannot be higher ID
Reading the instructions first and just swallow whatever pride or inidignation. It is a "my way or highwar" setup and utility,.

"At least 16 GB of free space on the disk onto which you’re installing for 32-bit, or 20 GB for 64-bit (for Microsoft Windows and Windows-based applications)."
That's what Apple proposes in here Boot Camp: System requirements for Microsoft Windows
Personally I would double these amounts and add to that the diskspace needed for your Windows games.
