BSP Data Entry Application in a SAP BW System

Would it be unwise to develop a BSP data entry application within a BW system?
The application's purpose in life is to collect data for reporting in BW.
The application would store its data in transactional ODS tables.  From there, the data would be extracted and loaded into the InfoCube for analysis and reporting.
Your words of wisdom would be appreciated.

anniee ,
This is pretty easy , I have done this for my implementation.
Data will be entered from a Web Application back into BW using a BSP.
but this post already has the status as answered ..  so a solution has been found ?
or like durai athavan raja has asked .. we could have it as a separate post ... ( then you could give me more points!!!;-) )
Arun
P.S I have done this being a newbie to ABAP and BSP .. so I could give you my code and the experts here could help me in making it better. It works for the moment and no problkems as such...!!!

  • Export data from ABAP report to SAP BW system

    Hi Everyone,
I have requirement to export data from the R/3 system from a ABAP report to BW system.
Currently we are planning to create a Ztable to put the data into that, but I would like to know , is there a better way to do instead of going for a Ztable.
    Regards,
    Shobana.K

    Hi Shobana,
is possible define a data-source in RSO2 with Function module as source.
In this function module you define a table. During the loading data in BW from this datasource the system execute this function module and transfer the line of that table.
In the function module you can repeat the code of the abap program.
You can see the function module example (RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE).

  • Best practices for data entry online system

    Hi all
I am(with a team of 4 members) going to build an online data entry system which may have approximately 30 screens. I am going to use Spring BlazeDS remoting to connect middleware.
Anyone could please suggest me some good practices to follow in flex side to do such a "DATA ENTRY" application.
The below points are some very few common best practices we need to follow while doing coding .But i am not sure how to achive them in flex side.
User experience (Probably i can get little info regarding this from my client)
    Code maintanability
    Code extendibility
    memory and CPU optimization
Able to work with team members(Multiple checkouts)
    Best framework
So i am looking for valueble suggestion from great minds.

There are two options, none of them very palatable:
    1) One is to create a domain, and add the VM and your local box to it.
    2) Stick to a workgroup, but have the same user name and password on both machines.
In practice, a better option is to create an SQL login that is member of sysadmin - or who have rights to impersonate an account that is member of sysadmin. And for that matter, you could use the built-in sa account - but you rename it to something else.
The other day I was looking at the error log from a server that apparently had been exposed on the net. The log was full with failed login attempts for sa, with occasional attempts for names like usera and so on. The server is in Sweden - the IP address
for the login attempts were in China.
Just so know what you can expect.

  • Multiple data feeds to Informatica from SAP BI

    Guru's,
I have the need to push multiple data streams out of our SAP BI system into Informatica. I can move a single Open Hub Destination in a process chain, but have the need to run multiple OHD's in the same process chain.
I have tried doing this with a single ABAP 'Send Status' program, and with multiple ABAP 'Send Status' programs without success. I have also tried executing the steps in parallel or in series, also without success.
    Any information/help would be appreciated.

OK according to Informatica support, this feature is not available at this time.

  • How to downlaod vednor master data into excel sheet in SAP Application ser

    Hi friends
I want to download SAP vendor master data into excel sheet and the file should be stored in SAP Application server Location with padding zeros.
    Please help me.
    Thanks

    Hi Ramesh,
You can download the data into application server using the following code. You will have the vendor details in the internal table. Then you will open a file and transfer the data as follows.
    *   Download internal table to Application server file(Unix)
    DATA: e_file like rlgrap-filename value '/usr/sap/tmp/file.txt'.
open dataset e_file for output in text mode.
      lOOP AT it_datatab......
        transfer it_datatab to e_file.
      ENDLOOP.
      close dataset e_file.
In application server you will have only files and not excel sheets.
    Reward points if useful,
    Aleem.

  • SAP BPC - As per IFRS, data entry mode for OWNERSHIP model is YTD. Why?

    Dear All,
As per IFRS, data entry mode for OWNERSHIP model is YTD. I do not understand this. YTD means accumulated data. When it comes to Ownership data(Consolidation Perimeter), it goes by month. Consolidation is done month by month. If so, why is YTD the data entry mode for OWNERSHIP model?
    Pls. help to understand!
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Peri

    Hi Peri,
the information stored in the ownership model (method and percentages) is used as it is entered by month. At least in BPC MS I have found no difference between having the ownership cube as YTD or periodic as all my accounts in that cube are defined as AST accounts.
However, conceptually, since the consolidation model usually is YTD I think it makes sense to have the ownership also as YTD.

  • Fetching of multiple files from Application Server into SAP Program

    Hi All,
I have a issue related <b>Fetching of multiple files from Application Server into SAP Program</b>.
    Actual issue is as below.
    In the <b>selection screen</b> of <b>my program</b> i will give <b>Application Server Path</b> as :
    <b>/PW/DATA/SAP/D1S/PP/DOWN/eppi0720*</b>
Then the based on above input it should pick up all the files that are matching <b>eppi0720*</b> criteria.
Suppose if i am having <b>5</b> files with above scenario, i have to fetch all those <b>5</b> files at a time and place in my SAP Program.
All those 5 file's data should come into SAP at a time.
Can anybody tell me how can we solve above issue.

    Hi!
    Many thanks for your answer.
Via BD87 on BW system I detect that all the IDOC's (type: RSRQST) will be received from SAP ECC system.
Via tcode SM58 I could not detect any entries.
However the loading status from yesterday is set to "red".
