BSP internal table download

Hello all,
I am trying to download an internal table,as a text file, from a BSP view. This view is getting called through a sub-controller in my application.
While downloading i get a pop-up saying: you are now downloading Main.do.
which is my Main controller's name.
If i click OPEN, again i get a pop-up: you are now downloading Forms.txt.
which is the file i actually want to download.
Though The download happens perfectly, the Request doesnot get completed. "Your request is being processed" keeps appearing and doesn't let me proceed.
Could anyone suggest a solution to the problem. I donot want the pop up for Main.do download and neither the "Your Request..." message.

Remove <xhtmlb:protectDoubleSubmit>, you wont get message "wait..your request is being processes" at all.
Also refer this forum..Same issue discussed & solved..

Hi Pritish.sap,
Before executing the program :
1) Enter '/h' and press Enter.
2) Now click on Execute
3) It will automatically take you to the Debugg mode.....
4) Now press F5 for step by step debugging...every time you have to press F5 for step by step debugging
else you can double click on Internal table to put a debugger and press F8..cursor will directly comes to your Internal table.
Now press F5 and double click on your Internal table.
If you wish to save the contents of the interanl Table then :
1) When you Double click on Itable it will apper at the right hand side of your debugger.
2) Right click on it and select save as local file.
3) It will give you options to save it in Text format, speard sheet...etc

Even though the instructions are for 4.6 you can switch your debugger to Classic mode and follow the instructions provided in the link above.

Download Internal Table into a Text File in BSP?

I have an internal table which i need to download into my local pc. I know i can not use FM gui_download. Could some one please post code on how to download the internal table into a text file in BSP. Also i am not sure if i can use save dialog FM. Also need suggestion on which FM to use for save dialog which tells where to save the file.
Any help will be appreciated.

Download internal table from BSP application to C:\ drive of the user

Hi,
How do we download a internal table data from a BSP application to the C:\ drive of the user. Have tried GUI Download, but it doesn't work. Also don't want a pop up to appear while this is happening. The code has to there in 'OnInputProcessing' event.

I went through few of the blogs and wrote the below code for downloading data. My requirement is that in the InputProcessing event i need to write a subset of data to the users C:\ drive. But even after doing the below change i'm unable to get the requirement done. Can you please tell me as to what i'm missing. I'm new to BSP development and help would be highly appreciated.

Download content of internal table to local file

Hello SDN
I have got a BSP application using pages with flow logic. What I want to do is downloading the content of an internal table to a local file, when a user triggers a certain event. In the event-handler "OnInputProcessing" I tried to use "CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download" but this causes an error in the browser.
Can anybody help me?

hello markus,
cl_gui_frontend_services can only be used in sapgui-applications.
what you could do is to create a bsp-page that doesn't generate html, but only a list of data, separated by tabs and line-breaks. on the top of the bsp, you would have to set the mime-type to text/plain, so the browser will offer so save the file or open it in notepad.

Download the KTOPL field data and GLT0 table data into one Internal table

I have downloaded GLT0 table fields data to PC file . But i need to download KTOPL(Chart Of Accounts) data also. in GLT0 table there is no KTOPL field.
But in SKA1 table have KTOPL field. Then what is the issue is GLT0 data & KTOPL field data needs to download into one Internal Table.
anybody could you please solve this problem. immediately need to solve this.

Here is a small sample program to convert data in an internal table into XML format and display it.

CREATE OBJECT l_xml.
* Convert data in ITAB to XML

Merging the internal table and structure for PO text material download

   I have a query regarding downloading the PO text from material master.Actually i have successfully downloaded the PO text using TLINE structure along with FM like READ_TEXT and GUI_Download.But when i had to append the PO text for corresponding material,there i got the problem.Let me explain clearly.Below is my coding for PO text download.In that i have used TLINE structure/table for get the POtext via FM READ_TEXT.Also I am using an internal table(It_tab) which consist fields of TDFORMAT,TDLINE and MATNR,So what i need is,i want to merge TLINES structure/table into internal table(it_tab).That is I want to display the PO text along with material No.That is my requirement.But when i append the it_tab using my coding,it was not displaying in the correct order.Attached screen shot is the sample output(excel sheet).column B and C respectively for POtext and material number.I want to get in correct order as it gets the misarrangemnt.(i.e) PO text and material number should come with the same line.So Please help me to complete this task.Kindly point out if i am wrong.

with dynamic programming, i've created a complex internal table of this type :
KNA1                          |

The declaration of the internal table is :
TYPES: BEGIN OF gty_record,
        table TYPE tabname,
        dataref TYPE REF TO data,
       END OF gty_record.
This means that each line, has a different line-type. In the first field of the table, i have the name of the structure. In the second, the data-part (in debug double click on leads to structure contents - field by field).
The structure KNA1 contains C and packed (P) fields also so when i pass the internal table to FM GUI_DOWNLOAD, i have this short-dump : UC_OBJECTS_NOT_CONVERTIBLE.
Is there a way to solve this problem quickly?
The goals is download all data of a customer into a local file. Data is distribuited on different structures, readed by standard bapi 'BAPI_CUSTOMER_GETDETAIL2'. This file will be read in another program, of another system.
Any hints/suggestion will be appreciated.

I cannot use this approach to the problem, because i should keep in mind the dimension of single fields and the blanks should be concatenated also, but RESPECTING BLANK switch of concatenate instruction doesen't exists in 4.7 abap.
Sure, i can use a workaround, but i'll have a lot of programming.

This could be the solution. I've already read some posts about it before write mine. I should test it: i don't know if in 4.7 release works. So i could transform the internal table to xml and save to text file.
But then, how i can read xml string and mapping again in this special kind of table ?
Is CALL TRANSFORMATION ID SOURCE XML String RESULT Dataobject instruction sufficient to perform this task?

How to download internal table data to excel in WebUI

Hi everyone,
I am trying to download the contents of an internal table to excel in CRM Web UI.
One way, would be to create a table view and use the export to excel button.
However, wish to avoid this and directly download using code.
Also tried converting to xstring and setting data in the response object. However, this works only when I execute the component directly from BSP_WD_CMPWB. In the UI framework however, when I click on custom button(for download), it navigates to a screen where the contents of string are shown directly on browser.
Is there any other way of doing this?

Hi,
there are two ways to download excel from the webclient using table views. The first is a XML stream that is send to Excel directly. Only works for Excel 2003 and later. The second is the fall back to a .csv.
I do not know if for the second option a direct connection is established as mentioned in the last post or there is actually a file stream send to the client.
Anyway the SAP provides the excel download through a seperate webservice. Have a look at CL_CHTMLB_CONFIG_TAB_EXCEL_EXP->IF_HTTP_EXTENSION~HANDLE_REQUEST( ).
I suppose going the same direction with your excel download will work. This service opens a new download stream with the excel content... Maybe it is even possible to copy it and adjust it to your needs...

How to download internal table data to .xlsx file ?

I am using SAP ECC 6.0. I need to download internal table data to .xlsx file.
I tried GUI_DOWNLOAD, all the data are getting transferred to the .xlsx file, but while opening I am getting the below error.
Excel cannot open the file "download.xlsx" because file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file.
Though Microsoft office 2007 is installed in my system.

How to create internal table for a structure in BSP

I have created a Structure in BSP.I want to create an internal table for that Structure. But in my coding ie.

How to download internal table to excel sheet

I have a requirement to download nearly 8 to 10 internal tables to excel sheets(for each internal table one excel sheet) without displaying the diolog box showing open and save buttons.
scenario :
I will enter the path name like this -   C:\myfolder\Custom_programs.xls.
                                                        C:\myfolder\Custom_tables.xls.
                                                        (File name does not exit..it has to created inside the
                                                            specified folder)
in submit button I populate 2 internal tables say it1 and it2. then I need to move the tables contents to the path I have specified above.
attach_file_to_response method is not working for the above reqt since it is showing the dialog box.
Please provide a suitable solution...

Please ignore all the responders that are stating that you can use GUI_DOWNLOAD from Web Dynpro ABAP. As you found out, this absolutely will not work, since this function module and other download logic like it depends upon a connection to the SAPGUI. People posting to use the GUI_DOWNLOAD from WDA need to learn a little more about the architecture of WDA before they go posting incorrect repsonses in the forum. I have little tollerance for people posting outright incorrect information in the WDA Forum.
What you want to do - download silent - is not easily done from WDA. There are rules about how web applications must behave in a browser. Normal HTML/JavaScript does not allow silent downloads for security reasons. Obviously there are many untrustworthy websites on the internet that you wouldn't want to allow to directly access your local machine. WDA must live within these same browser limitations.
SAP has done some work using a Java Applet to get around some of these security issues. This funcitonality comes in NetWeaver 7.01. It is the AcfUpDownload UI element:

However it is designer for usage with the Content or KPro server - so even it might not meet your needs.
