BSP performance, what tool to use

Hi,
I found on <a href="http://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/bsp/main&">http://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/bsp/main&</a> (Business Server Pages) that some of the recommended tools for measuring performance are
•     Fiddler
•     HttpWatch
But nothing about IEMon that I actually downloaded from SAP Service Marketplace (actually this is the tool recommended for measuring the response time of a Web Query from BW but I assume it is good for any web page)
From a document about this tool
<i>For our response time analysis we need to look at only three types of events:
•&#61472;&#61472;Before Navigate: The HTTP request is being sent to the Web server.
•&#61472;&#61472;Navigate Complete: The Web server responds with an HTML stream.
•&#61472;&#61472;Document Complete: The browser has finished rendering the Web page.</i>
It seems this is enough for what I want to measure: the total response time it takes to display a view.
Any experience with using the other tools, are they more suitable for measuring the performance ?
Regards,
Mihai

I don't have used these tools for quite some time now, but it all comes down to what works best for you. Are there specific values/information you are looking for? Which browser are working with? What's just simply the program you like to work with?
There is also the Firebug extension for Firefox, which also shows you response times in a very nice and easy way, if that's enough for your purpose.

  • I am wondering what tools were used in the "Body Evolution" video

    Hi,
I am wondering what the names of the tools that were used in the "Body Evolution" video? I know somw of them, but I don't know what tools they used for the eyes, nose and to stretch the legs.
    Thank you!

    Station Two,
I am not in the habbit of, nor do I ever plan to be in the habbit of, photoshopping things to death for the pupose of making it "picture perfect."
I have always been a person that loves to know how. I may never use it, I just like to know how. Take a look at my work:
    https://www.facebook.com/BenjaminRootPhotography
I definitely know it wasn't meant to be a tutorial, and personally, I think it's sick when someone photoshops a person like that.
Like I said before, it all just looked different to me and I wondered what they used.
I mainly use Photoshop to correct lighting, or to put someone on a different background, or to add a little color to something, or corect some minor things that they request; but a bove all, I alway try to make it look realistic and like the person.

  • What tool is used to open and read UCS tech support files

    Hello,
Due to internal Infosec policies, I need to open and read UCS tech supoort files that I generate prior to sending them to Cisco TAC. Can someone tell me what tool I can use to accomplish this task? Thanks.

    Good to hear.
Are you intending to blank out all the proprietary info?  IPs, Hostnames etc?
Suggest an advanced editor such as ultraEdit which can find and replace any private information.

  • What tools to use developing JAX-WS for AS 10.1.3

    Hello,
now I use JDeveloper 10.1.3, but I see it lacks some features (for example, I'd like to see JAX-WS development support).
I develop applications for Application Server 10.1.3 (as this is the latest stable version too), but I'd like to use JAX-WS there. as this is the latest technology.
I know, i can deploy JAX-WS for 10.1.3.4 with some efforts.
But what is the best tool to use for development? JDev 10.1.3 - a lot of "coding by hand", Jdev 11 TP4 - maybe, not stable, and how to test - with JDev 11 TP4 embedded OC4J? And then try to deploy to AS 10.1.3? Or, maybe, better to use other IDE, that supports JAX-WS? At the end, I need to deploy to AS 10.1.3.4.... Any ideas?

    Hi,
JAX-WS requires a Java EE runtime environment, and AS 10.1.3 has a Java EE 1.4 runtime environment, which means that JAX-WS wont run here. JDeveloper 11, though in Technology Preview" allows you to build JAXWS web services. However, the deployment still requirs Java EE 1.5

  • What tools were used to make this cartoon picture?

I want to make a picture like these ones, but i dont know which tools to use. it seems they didnt use the pen tool at all, and i cant quite figure out how they did all the shadows and highlights. its seems they used the brush, but when i use the brush tool, i dont get the same clean results. any advice? any good tutorials that could help?
    Thanks in advance

Adobe Illustrator is probably the best tool to do something like this.  It's made by drawing a lot of shapes on a lot of layers.  You can do this with the pen/brush tool in Flash, but they really aren't the best for drawing.  Check out tv.adobe.com for some videos on Illustrator.

  • Trying to create round LED effect from ellipse -- what tools to use

I need some direction. I know what I want to do but can't find the right tools in the photoshop toolbox to accomplish the task.  I want to create a top down view of a single green LED.  I want it to have the illusion of a rounded dome and some sort of highlight like the room light was bouncing from a point in the rounded surface.  I've played around with the ellipse tool to create the green circle and several attempts using the blend modes, bevel emboss and inner glow.  Nothing seems to come close to what I want. Thanks for directing me to the right tools to be using. Jim

You are trying to make it too simple and complicated in the same vein. No need for layer styles add all. You need just a bunch of circles layered on top of each other using blending modes. Start out with the darkes color, then add feathered circles on top of it using Screen, Multiply and Add blending modes. Scale them in size, and place them correctly. They colors should all be along the base color, but with slight variations in brightness and saturation. Use a very bright samll one placed out of center to create a specular highlight...

  • Color keeps distorting no matter what tool I use

All of a sudden my photoshop CS5 started distorting any and all pictures. I cannot use the brushes or the eraser, I cannot use the paintbucket tool or anything. The colored squares (number 1) here are when I used the paintbucket tool on white on a new layer. This is what happened when I pressed the "step backwards" button in the edit tab (see number 3). The white squares (number 2) I used the eraser on the photo. I am in RGB color mode & 8 bits channel. This is what happens when I move to 16 bits channel (see number 4). Basically, anything I do will mess up the color and it's different every time. I have no idea why.

    See if resetting prefs helps:
Windows - CTRL-SHIFT-ALT immediately after you double-click the PS icon.
Macintosh - CMD-SHIFT-OPTION immediately after you double-click the PS icon.
"Yes" when asked if you want to delete Photoshop settings file.

  • What tool to use from my toolbox (which app from CS5, when?)

    Hello,
OK I've used Photoshop for years, and PageMaker/InDesign for a good while. But now I have CS5.
Now, instead of sticking to our approach of literature, posters and basic web site, I'm getting excited after watching some Max and adobe.tv videos, and I'd like to start pushing the envelope with interactive .pdfs, a better, more dynamic web site, and whatever else I can do to add some excitement to this joint - in print and online.
Problem is, I'm not sure which tool works best, where. Can anyone list (or point me to a link) that gives a good basic explanation of which each program in CS5 is best used for? (I have Design Premium). One video indicated that Flash Catalyst was good for nav. buttons (which does look alot easier than the Photoshop-created buttons I made); and of course a Terry White presentation showed some other great uses for Catalyst.
Another section of video indicated that Fireworks was good for web design (although I've been using DreamWeaver for that)...so a good list would help alot as I try to learn these applications.
    Thanks!

First piece of advice...don't use Flash for sake of using Flash. Websites need to be clean and easy to navigate and having buttons jumping all over the place gets old in a hurry. There are plenty of methods for making a site interesting without using Flash (yeah, I know that's heresy).
InDesign does a great job of creating interactive PDFs.
I suggest visiting the various product forums and searching for answers there.

  • My cursor is stuck as an arrow no matter what tool I use.

I have checked the caps lock and that does not do anything and I have restarted photoshop 3 times and nothing seems to work. Can somebody help?

    What OS version?
Usually that's an indication of a video card driver bug, an OS bug (Windows cursor scaling doesn't work right), or some other utility grabbing control of the cursor (which depends on what sort of utilities you have installed).

  • What tool to use to fix "twinkling" lights?

I have been doing alot of real estate photography, and i cant seem to avoid the lights looking like twinkling stars.  Is there a trick to fix this in post production in photoshop?

    josh phoenix wrote:
…lens is a Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM Lens
But I'm sure you're not shooting at f/2.8.  The star effect is achieved, without a filter, by shooting at extremely small apertures, beyond f/11 or f/16, maybe f/22 or even smaller.
It's caused by light diffracting at the edges of the aperture blades. Shooting at a larger aperture should help; typically the effect becomes more pronounced as you stop down.

  • What Tool You Like The Most To Use In Adobe Photoshop 6?

  • Can you tell me what tool and settings I used?

look at the picture, it seems I used a brush to do the red line and inner blue and outter white but I can't replicate the exact thing can you guys tell me what tools I used? The line at the bottom is the one I want to replicate. The line at the top is the one I get from simulating settings.

Make a new blank layer below palo 2, click back on palo 2 and choose Layer>Merge Down or Ctrl+E
Or if you want to maintain the layer name, make a blank layer below palo 2, click back on palo 2 and beside the blank layer, click in the box just to the right of the eye icon on
the blank layer to link the layers. Then go to Layer>Merge Linked or Ctrl+E

You have apparently purchased a lost or stolen iPhone. The owner's telephone number was given. You should contact the rightful owner about returning it. You should contact the person from whom you purchased it and get your money back. Report all to the local police.

  • What techniques are used to create these images?

The artist who created the pictures shown on the links below uses Photoshop. Does anyone know what tools are used for this?
    http://www.chrisjordan.com/gallery/rtn/#plastic-bottles
    http://www.chrisjordan.com/gallery/rtn/#cell-phones

Did you click on each of those images to see them reach full size in Flash animation?
Here are crops from the bottles and cell phones at 100% resolution:
The Flash zoom-out and zoom-in animation is done in programming the code of the web page, as you can see by "Inspecting the Element" on the web browser page:
I cannot give you any further information or assistance, as I don't deal with web programming.
As far as I can tell, the "technique" used here is pretty straight forward:
Take a picture with a digital camera, then program the web page to repeat the image a bunch of times and display the zooming in and out in Flash animation.
