BT 6500 - Blocked Calls Problem

I have a problem with a BT 6500 phone. I have programmed the phone to block calls by call type: ie Withheld / International / Coin Box.
Over the last few months, all calls from these type numbers have been blocked.
However, according to the manual, calls that are blocked by call type can leave a message on my ansaphone, if they want to.
This is not happening - I have missed several calls, from withheld numbers, as they were unable to leave a message. My phone number just kept on ringing out.
I have tried on 2 /3 occasions to reset this facility, but still messages are unable to be left.
Any solution??

Have you used the forum search ie. http://community.bt.com/t5/forums/searchpage/tab/message?filter=labels%2Clocation&location=forum-boa...
You will find lots of info there.

  • Nokia 6500 call problem

    Hello.
    I have owned a Nokia 6500 slide on the 3 network for just over a year now, it's a decent phone and I've had very few problems with it until recently. The current problem is that when I make or receive a call, there is no audio/volume. Once the call begins to ring or I answer, and it's connected, there is no volume. However, if I change it to loudspeaker, it can be heard perfectly normally as if it were played through loudspeaker (obviously). So in short, the "handset" option of the call is muted. I have checked the obvious thing such as settings and makings sure the call volume was high enough, but there is just no sound at all when on the handset setting of a call. To make a personal call I have to make it in loudspeaker and everyone can hear.
    I also had a problem wiht my contacts, and I downloaded the latest firmware and it fixed that problem. However, the loudspeaker call problem has remained. Usual searching hasn't sufficed, I appear to be the only one wiht this problem. Hopefully somebody can help me out here.
    Thanks in advance,
    Cams

    Take it to the nearest Nokia Care Point. Probably your speaker is damaged.

  • How can we encourage Apple to develop blocking calls from specific numbers?

    Looking through posts on here, I see that neither AT&T nor the iPhone itself permits an iPhone owner to block calls from one or more specific numbers.
    For some reason, although I've had my mobile number for years, I've recently started to receive daily calls from one specific number, an ignorant person who calls at all times of the day and night, barely apologizing for yet again dialing incorrectly. Very annoying.
    Yes, I know I could change my number, but literally hundreds of people have used this number for years, and I'm truly loathe to start over.
    In reading posts here and on AT&T, I gather this is not an uncommon problem. I assume that even if AT&T is unwilling to institute call blocking, this is a problem Apple could solve with iPhone software. What's the best way to encourage Apple to include this in a future iPhone software update?
    In advance, thanks for your guidance.

    This would be something ATT would have to do since they provide the actual phone service.
    In the meantime, you could create a ringtone of "silence" and assign it to that person's number. This way you wouldn't be disturbed when the person calls until you can work out a solution with ATT.

  • How can I interrupt the blocking call when call timeout?

    Hi,Guys
    I wrote an application server(daemon process) to talk with oracle server
    continuous which used oracle9 OCCI lib, each 5 min it executes the procedure
    on the DB server.
    Now I have come cross a problem:
    If the network is blocked, app server will blocked at occi call and would
    never pass, and no exception was catched :-(
    for e.g.
    1. Oracle server reboot without shutdown oracle process
    2. udp broadcast message storm blocked the connection between app server and
    oracle DB.
    I consider maybe it's because OCCI using the blocking mode of connection
    that caused this problem.
    How can I interrupt the blocking call when call timeout?

    Manage the timeout using a separate thread. When the timeout happens, issue a break on the OCCI connection. There is no direct way as of now. You need to do this to break a OCCI connection.
    retrieve the OCI handle from the OCCI handle (e.g. using Connection::getOCIServer or Connection::getOCIServiceContext methods) and issue a OCIBreak on it. Do not forget to allocate a error handle which should be passed to OCIBreak call.

    Hi
    The problem is that you are making a re-entrant call back into a cache service from the service thread or worker thread of a cache service. This is a bad thing to do as you risk deadlocking your cluster by consuming all of the threads in the service. From the stack trace it looks like you are doing a get on a cache which is calling through to a cache store which is then doing a get on another cache.
    For example, you have done a "get" on a cache, that has now consumed a worker thread (call it Thread-1), that thread is calling the cache store which is doing a get on another cache in the same cache service so will now consume another thread (call it Thread-2) so you now have two threads in use, Thread-1 will not return until Thread-2 completes. Now say you had 2 worker threads on your cache service and two "get" calls came in at the same time, Get-1 and Get-2. Both worker threads are now in use so when Get-1 calls the cache store to do a get on the other cache then it has to wait for a worker thread to become free to process the get. The same applies to Get-2, it is calling the cache store and waiting for a thread to become free. The problem is no threads will become free as they are all waiting. Hopefully that is a clear enough explanation of why you get the warning.
    Read this Constraints on Re-entrant Calls - 12c (12.1.2) This is for 12.1.2 but the same applies for any Coherence version.

  • Blocking calls within start()

    Howdy. I read a few pages back through here and searched the forums, but didn't find anything on my particular issue.
    I have a little applet I'm working on (that I recently got some amazing help on from someone on the JAR forum), and I've run into a problem. I am using Applet, from awt, rather than JApplet. I haven't tried JApplet, but I have some generally unspoken, irrational opposition to Swing, so I just haven't bothered.
    The code for Applet.start() is relatively lengthy, but mainly irrelevant. What's important is that the last line of it is conn.start();
    The object conn is an instance of Connection, which is the central object to a network core that I've written. I can change parts of Connection, if need be, but I'd rather not, since there is a non-applet version of this same project which uses Connection that's currently working juuuust fine. At any rate, Connection.start() is as follows:
    public void start()
         try
              isConnected = true;
              handlers.triggerIncoming(new ConnectedEvent());
              Thread readerThread = new Thread(new SocketReader(socket, parser));
              Thread writerThread = new Thread(new SocketWriter(socket, outputQueue));
              readerThread.start();
              writerThread.start();
              readerThread.join(); // Wait for the reader to finish
              outputQueue.enqueue(null); // Make sure the writer dies.
              writerThread.join();
              isConnected = false;
              handlers.triggerIncoming(new DisconnectedEvent(""));
         catch(Exception e)
              e.printStackTrace();
    }As you can see, this is clearly a blocking call. I've toyed with it a little bit, commenting out chunks, to see what might cause issues... it seems that as long as it's blocking, the applet gets stuck at "Applet Loading" in the browser. If I remove the join() calls, it loads up just fine. It doesn't -work- if I remove the join() calls, because almost everything else relies on isConnected being set to true.
    Am I correct? Can I not put blocking calls into Applet.start()?
    Thanks,
    Null Flux

    Dealt with it.
    The answer is, "No, start() cannot block."

  • So there's no way to block BLOCKED calls at 3 am?

    OK, I just got off the phone with AT&T customer service.
    I've been getting phone calls at 3 am (every 4 or 5 days). They're not "threatening" in the sense that someone says they're going to put a horse's bloody head in my bed or anything. In fact, the person doesn't really say anything at all. But it's obviously pretty annoying to be woken up at 3 am when you think a family member might be calling you about an emergency (old, frail mother, etc.). I also use my iPhone as my alarm clock, so I don't want to turn the volume off.
    When I had Sprint service, it was no problem to block all BLOCKED caller ID calls. AT&T says this is impossible for a few months until they get some new service installed (at which point they'll charge $2 or more per month, of course).
    Is that true? Is their system really that archaic?
    Short of buying a separate alarm clock and hoping nothing happens to my mother between 11 pm and 6 am, is there anything I can do?

    Payphones don't appear blocked it usually shows the number. Sometimes what happens is that some companies use computers to telemarket that dial a number by themselves and the computers get messed up sometimes and call at weird hours and don't say anything. I work for ATT landline there is a number that we refer customers for that kind of issue it is the ANNOYANCE CALL BUREAU and I believe every city has their own number I know they help with the landline annoying calls, they might have technology for cells.

  • My iohone5 signals incoming call. Then, immediately Blocked Call is displayed! With no further information re caller.  I have just switched from iPhone 4 and never had experience with Blocked Call! Message . How can I at least find out who or what blocked

    MY iPhone 5 keeps blocking incoming phone calls with a message "call blocked" there is no addition information on who/what is being blocked or why. I have just transitioned from iPhone 4 to 5 and never had this happen before.  Does anyone else have this problem? How does one find out what/who is being blocked?

    If a user has blocked their caller ID there's nothing you can do but either answer the call or don't.
    This is NOT a problem, this is how blocked calling works.

    I keep getting calls from a block caller id and it's some dude speaking arabian what do i do? How do i stop this?

    Stop answering calls with blocked numbers. If it's someone who really wants to talk to you, they'll leave you a message and you can call them back.

  • How can I block calls on my G3 when Verizon took away that functionality?

    I find it very interesting that I used to receive a small amount of SPAM calls/texts on my old phone (older version of Android) but once I updated my phone last August, after waiting for years to find the options, design, and features that I wanted, to the LGG3 through Verizon I am receiving these calls at least once a week and sometimes several times a week.  I ordered the G3 specifically because of the design and features.  One of these features was the ability to block calls from the call settings menu.  Unfortunately it appears that Verizon has taken away my choice to be able to do that by removing this feature from the Android OS on the G3 (and possibly other phones as well from my reading of these forums and other media online) Verizon tells me that I can block up to 5 numbers for a period of 90 days for free but if I want to block a number permanently I need to pay for their service at $5 a month and even then it is only up to 20 numbers.  Sounds a little suspicious to me in that I should be able to do a block for free on my phone but yet Verizon wants me to pay up to $60 per year to use their service when they are the ones sharing my number pursuant to their privacy policy.  I want the functionality back on my phone.  This is probably part of the reason that the new android update is not working for most people as I can only speculate that Verizon has most likely "piece-mealed" the update to comply with features that they believe we need and allows them to add to their bottom line instead of letting the consumer decide what they want.

    Called well actually chatted with Tech Support this morning...the option is not there and Tech Support of course would not admit that Verizon contracted with LG to have their phones produced without that option (though I explained T-Mobile G3 has the option) Tech support started wanting to change my plan to lower my plan price to offset the cost of Family Base-- I called ** on this --no changes made. Was given a number to contact LG but I doubt that will get me anywhere as well; what about the Mister Number app? I heard that was supposed to be a good one as well....but anyway I quite frankly told the representative that I could only believe that this was greed on Verizon's part since the functionality was removed but in order to use the functionality I have to pay for it on their site and that I refused to do so.  Like you stated I should not have to pay for privacy. Very frustrating; she also tried telling me that there may be an update in the future that may change this on my device but she couldn't speak to when; again I am calling **...I have heard nothing but bad news on the Lollipop update and wont be doing that until I see all the bugs are worked out

  • I am an iphone4 user from United Arab Emirates with home button/MIC not working during call problems..

    hi, i am an iphone4 user from the United Arab Emirates. I got my phone as a gift last September and it was not bundled with any carriers and was a factory unlocked piece. Within one month of usage the home button started misfunctioning. It started registering double clicks as single, triple clicks, etc. (the usual complaint of many countless users of iphone from the time of the release.) I then kind of ignored this problem and continued using the phone.
    With this problem still continuing, comes another one.
    My friend gave me a call yesterday, and we were talking happily for a minute or so and suddenly without any reason my friend failed to hear me. Five minutes was spent trying to make myself heard to him. I tried and i tried and the only solution i could find was tapping the phone gently,but firmly. Then he was able to hear me but then after sometime it was back to the same problem.
    The only solution i found was to tap in th sides.(please note that this is also a common problem with many who have call problems but no voice memo problems.) I tried adding and registering my device to my account but when i try to put in my iphone's serial number,they say that the device number is invalid.
    Now i want to get a solution to this, but since this was a gift piece i do not have any invoice of any sort. I even checked itunes.com/support and was happy to find i still have warranty till september.
    I am confused as to what to do as I was dissappointed to find even a single apple store in the UAE and do not know what do we get in terms of support. Could someone please help me?

    that is exactly the problem. I have no idea as in where this phone originates from. It was gifted to my Dad from a personnel who he was supplying for in the company. My dad then gifted it to me on my birthday. I asked my dad about the phone but he also does not know a thing. He also said that the other guy must have taken the invoice with him as he did not give anything to my dad.
    I checked it in quite a few places (like SharafDG,eMax,Axiom etc., the local electronics suppliers) to track where this phone was originally purchased from( because these people usually take down the IMEI's of the electronic devices they sell), but they all could not help me.
    Now i have no idea what to do and i do not want to spend huge amounts of cash for this matter as i am already in the warranty period. Anyways,thanks for your help in advance, but it would be helpful if you could try to get this solved for me.
