Bt 6500 speaker fault

Just received replacement 6500 due to speaker fault,replacement worse,incomeing voice breaks up at anything over setting 3 and totallly garbled on loadspeaker.Finally agreesd to refund,via Jerry,juast as well as bt shop deny ever selling it to me !!!!Despite several emails and just getting repeat denials.

Funny we have been having the same issue this week and now the speaker on the answerphone has given up all together! so dont think it matters on location of base stations just a very cheaply made phone and not upto BT's Quality I think.
It sounds to me like a loose conncetion and a speaker thats not upto the job

The suggestion was that I move the base station around the house, and note where it is when the speakers crackle and cut out etc, also note the time of day and what electrical devices are on. This theory states that it's nothing to do with the BT6500 speakers being rubbish, but all due to external interference. The official excuse, when asked why other setups (eg BT Synergy phones) worked perfectly from the same location, is that this is a very different system, using a special frequency which is so close to lots of other things that even moving the Base Station a millimetre can make all the difference (yes, that is what I was told!).
So how come the Base Station handset also suffers from the same distorted speaker sound? Besides which, the Base Station doesn't suddenly send signals direct to the loudspeaker - the phone simply redirects its own audio output. Perhaps the engineer really was having a laugh, spouting this officially rubbish "science" !

  • Speaker fault on 3 x New Lumia 900 phones what the...

    Got a new lumia 900 - was switched on for 2 hours, maybe 1 or 2 calls and internal speaker stopped working. Got that replaced 4 days past - was only on bluetooth speaker in car for that time and same problem again. Got another new replacement this afternoon and 1st incoming call guess what????? bloody internal speaker stopped working on this one also!!!! and both the folks at Nokia and a customer compain that I sound like I'm underwater when using the speakerphone!!!
    What the hell is going on here folks?????

    Sounds like the detector in the headphone jack is stuck. Use a cottonswab with a bit of alcohol to clean it out and see if it works.

    Hi i had a few nokia's before and this one takes the cake for being very soft at the speaker... i cant walk and talk at the same time.. i have to stand still in a sound room.. is this normal.. i mean you can hear people .. but its soft..
    is it a problem with the phone??? or is ther anyway of making it louder.??? because the guy at the shop said its normal.. and if it is..then nokia has gone back in time.. because all the nokia;'s i had before were nice and loud and clear..
    Even if i compare it to samsung.. phillips.. the speaker phone is just to soft...
    SO CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF ITS THE PHONE.. OR IS THIS NORMAL ON THE 6111 ..

    Take it to your nearest nokia repair centre, their technicians can have a look for you, sounds like it could be a speaker fault.

  • Share your speaking tips and tricks

    Please share your speaking tips and tricks that SAP TechEd '07 speakers can take advantage of when they present in Las Vegas, Munich, Bangalore, and Shanghai.  Also, if you ever watched an excellent speaker, please share what you thought made him/her so effective. Hopefully, with all these great tips and tricks SDN and BPX communities will have some of the best public speakers out there!

    There are some obvious (or should-be-obvious) tips, such as being prepared, being on time, having a backup plan and being a subject matter expert, and some fairly common speaker faults (too quiet or too formal), but here are the top 3 goals I strive for when I speak:
    1)  Time management.  Having too little material for a 1 hour session, or trying to do a 2 hour lecture plus a 30 minute demo, or speaking up until the next session, are annoyances to avoid.  I like to have too many slides so I can skip some, but my rule of thumb is about 1 slide per minute.  Leave time for questions at the end, and for the spontaneous hallway conversations to erupt.
    2)  Rehearsal.  It's not a sermon, or a strict one-way lecture, but I am normally more relaxed if I've given the material to several smaller crowds ahead of the bigger event.
    3)  Empathy.  In a presentation class I took last year we learned how to tell if your audience is engaged.  Telling a joke is great, but it is always helpful when people nod their heads, raise their hands or evoke body language showing they have been there, done that with the pain points of software and hardware management.

    Sounds like you have a speaker fault and the phone would normally require servicing. But seeing as you have had the screen replaced, you will not be able to do this via the Genius Bar.
    You will probably need to go back to the place where you got the screen replaced and ask them to look at the speaker for you.

    This has just happened to me. I backed up using Nokia PC Suite (Content Copier) and al was OK. I then updated the firmware on the phone from v12..... to v20..... Again all OK. Tried to restore and it stops at 71%. PC CPU is running at 99% for 20 minutes before I stop it. Where does it say Nokia recognise this problem?

    Yesterday i had requested an online repair for my iPhone as it had a speaker fault. So this morning when i woke up, my iPhone was lying on the floor, i think must've dropped it while asleep. Well anyways, i tested it all and it seems to be working fine, the speaker problem is sorted now
    So now there is no need to send it for repair, how do i cancel this? I have also recieved an empty box from Apple with AppleCare box. What do i do about them?

  • Lost my center channel on X-Fi (and recovered

    That's the weirdest thing I have ever seen. I have formatted my dri've and reinstalled Windows XP with SP2 integrated. My machine is a Pentium 4 2.26 o/c at 2.7 (60 FSB), it's been working solid rock for years. Motherboard is Gigabyte 8INXP (Intel E7205 Granite Bay chipset) with Gb or RAM (2x52Mb OCZ).
    Afer formatting and reaintalling, I configured the X-Fi Fatalty, I did speaker test and everything works fine, sound from all of them (tested under THX console). On saturday I started playing Doom 3 (EAX 4.0 patched) and I noticed that weapon sound came from front right speaker. I exit Doom, and I enter Battlefield 2, with nati've X-Fi support. Same thing, center sounds came from right speaker. I couldn't believe it.
    I unplugged all cables from the subwoofer (Megaworks 550 THX 5.l), launched speaker test and started pluggin again every cable. Guess what?, I didn't get any sound from center speaker. I uplugged center speaker and connected it intro front left connector. It sound ok, so it's not speaker fault. I switch the center/sub cable with the front left/right, and I get sound from center speaker when I clic front left, so the amplifier seems ok.
    So I have only one thing left: the X-Fi. I tried everything, shut down the PC, restart, change speaker settings and nothing works, so I start thinking about RMA. I take out the card from the PC, look at it (I was waiting to see some burnt chip into it, but it was perfect) and, as my last effort, I plug it into a different PCI slot.
    It worked, and I still can't believe it. I haven't changed ANYTHING, just boot again and all speakers work. I'm sure if I place it into the original PCI slot it will work, because it was working when I just installed the OS.
    If anybody can tell me what the hell happened here, I would be very, very grateful

    same thing happened to me , but i lost my rear left , when i ran the speaker test the sounds for the left was comming the right , and the test sound for the right came out muffled trough the front right .
    pissed out of my mind , i uninstalled all the drivers and deleted all the creative folders.
    reinstalled and it was fixed ,
    creative builds awesome sound cards , but awefull drivers .
    im still trying to find out why my microphone is sending the feed back back to my speakers , even when im not recording anything or have any recording application open , resulting in a nasty feedback and screching noise when i turn on my spakers loud .
    i solved this by connecting the microphone in the front of the platium panel and just puting up to having to listen to myself type in my earphones , and when i want to listen to my speakers i just turn down the microphone nob .
    annoying , i dont think this card was ready to be released driver wise .

  • M115 S3094 Popping/Static sound

    It seems that the sound is bad within the sound card, because I tried using a headset and it is still staticly, so it's not the laptop's speaker fault. 
    I tried updating sound driver, didn't help.
    I've read that flashing a new BIOS work, but I got a "0251: System CMOS checksum is bad" after the update so I had to restore to old BIOS.
    What else can I do? It is getting really annoying.

    I would try the BIOS update again. If a spontaneous power-on password develops, you won't be able to boot at all.

    It's safest to make the bootable CD.

  • 6500 Slide Ridiculus speaker problems.

    Hi,
    I have had my 6500 slide for 5 months, and in 5 months have had 5 handsets as everytime the speaker fails within days.
    I have had my current one 1 week and it has gone already, it is amazing they are allowed to keep selling these phones.
    I am about to take mine back to carphone and argue until they change it to another model, if I have to put up with this for another year I will go mad.

    true, well i have had my nokia slide for about a month now, but just today i've realised that when i call people and when they call me, i cannot here anything through the speaker... but they can hear me.
    but otherwise when i'm playing music and such on the phone the speaker works fine.
    .... i dunno, this is probably a different problem to yours..

    What do you expect from notebook speakers?? I've never heard music from standard notebook speaker that sounded remotely as great as with external speakers. This isn't Apple's fault or any other notebook manufacturer's. It's just the nature of the beast.
    Did I miss something in the system requirements for the linked speakers you mentioned? I don't see that they're compatible with OS X and Macintosh.
    Your best bet for finding speakers is not to post on this forum looking for the opinions of others, who may hear things differently than you do. I believe it best to go to a store (maybe an Apple store?) and give a bunch of speakers a listen.
    That said, I think the JBL creatures sound great to my ears.

  • IPhone 4 ear speaker not working after 2 restores and cleaning the headphone socket.

    Hi,
    I know this problem is not uncommon, but here goes...
    I have an iPhone 4 which was running iOS 5.1.1 a few days ago when the ear speaker stopped working.  I cant hear the other person when I make or recieve a call, but nothing else is wrong with the phone.  It is 18 months old.
    I've searched the discussions and seen some of the suggestions.  I tried cleaning out the headphone socket, with no luck.  I then tried a full restore and update to iOS 6.  This appeared to have worked.  I tried 2 calls and I could hear the other person.  I then left the phone alone for a couple of hours and when I tried it again, it had stopped working again.
    I have since done another full restore but the speaker is still not working at all.  The fact that it worked after the first restore suggests it's something simple or software related but I have no idea what else to try other than getting it repaired in a shop.  The problem is I am in Japan where my network (Softbank) and an independent repair shop have both quoted me the equivalent of $176 / £110 to fix it.
    Does anyone know anything else I can try before I give in and end up shelling out this ridiculous cost for something that is probably a 20 minute fix?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I have the exact same problem with my ear speaker after my IOS 6 upgrade. My speakers work, bluetooth works, the earphones work, but the ear speaker doesn’t work. I noticed this IMMEDIATELY after the upgrade was completed. I also have the following problems:
    -Very slow call connect time. 30 - 45 seconds just to connect is typical. Signal strength is 5 bars (ATT)
    -Problems attaching to known networks
    -Very slow internet browsing with many timeouts on both the ATT 3G service and known Wi-Fi networks.
    - My camera was missing after the IOS 6 upgrade. I restored that from Restrictions inside of the Settings App
    - Music was so screwed up it was easier to just restore it
    I went to the Apple store hoping to get some support. Between my wife, my son, and myself we have purchased 4 iPhones and an iPad over the last few years with plans to purchase another iPad in a month or so. So it’s not like I' not familiar with Apple Technology and their typical level of support.
    The individual who waited on me was rude and condescending. He insisted that all of the problems were hardware related or ATT’s fault, or my fault. He further asserted that IOS 6 had NOTHING to do with any of the problems. I pointed out that it would be quite a coincidence for my hardware to break, for ATT to have network problems, and for me to suddenly forget how to use an iPhone at the same exact moment that IOS 6 had been installed. He maintained his position and offered to sell me another phone.
    I don’t expect the folks in the store to reprogram the OS. Mistakes happen. I’m going to guess that Apple’s OS programmers are already working on a fix for many of the IOS 6 complaints that are easy to find on Google. Assigning blame to the customer and denying any responsibility is not a model for success or customer service. I’m sure Apple wouldn’t accept that kind of excuse from their component manufacturers and don’t think it is how they should deal with their customers. Further, Apple wants to own the device. They want to control the apps, the OS, battery, the delivery channel. I’m good with that so long as when there is a problem, they own that as well.
    And BTW… I’m not including the maps in my list of issues with IOS 6 because I kind of like the new maps and am willing to give Apple the benefit of the doubt. I believe that their map service will get a lot better in a hurry.
