BT 900 Dongle works but then disables itself after...

I am running a BT 802.11ac 900 Dongle on my Windows 10 PC, which works but after a while it seems to disable itself and I have to unplug it and plug it back in, so it re-enables itself and works again.
I've checked all the settings I can think of and disabled the ablility for the computer to power off the USB save power - although this doesn't seem to be the issue.
Anyone else had this problem on Windows 10 or any other OS?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Memtest X or Rember to test the RAM.
Reseat is also good.
The iPhone 4 doesn't like USB 1.1 much.
after the update the computer was working well, except for this freeze when ever I connect iPhone.
I'd try USB 2.0 PCI. That's how I connect my iPhone 4s, and have connected all iPhones and iPods, to my G4.
Never an issue.
Can't say the same for USB 1.1.......

The NEC chipset is the desired chipset, regardless of what OS the maker says is compatible.
OS X has native NEC chipset USB support.

You can do it by manually managing music and videos. See:

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar.
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions

The acsm file is not the book, it is a ticket to get the book. I sometimes get library books online, here is what I do.
1. Start ADE on the computer
2. Go to library website and find the book I want to download.
3. Click on the download link
4. In windows 7 a box opens asking whether I want to open( or run) or save the acsm file
5. Click open/run and ADE downloads the book into the "Library"
6. Transfer the book (epub file) to the reader.

Also, I then opened the same file (as a project)and when I closed it, it asked if I wanted to save changes. I said no, and the next time I opened it, there was no content. Any thoughts on what might have happened?

Being a RW disc, perhaps you accidentally deleted it?

G560 PXE error; OneKey Recovery seems to work, but then I get BSOD upon boot

I've got a 3-year old G560 and a few days ago, I ran into a PXE error out of the blue. I didn't really change anything about the computer's setup, and it may have been caused by commuting the laptop.
I already went through the whole F2 setup regimen of disabling network boot, changing over to compatible mode, trying every combination of boot order, etc.
When I was in compatibility mode, I was able to get the OneKey Recovery to work. There's no DVD involved, seems like it's stuck in that partition. I never set a restore point, but I didn't mind a factory reset. So I did the OneKey factory reset and it took about 15 minutes and it seemed to be okay, but then when I try to start the laptop, it will show the Windows logo, freeze there for a few seconds and then it flashes the blue screen of death for a split second (impossible to capture the error codes).
If I try it in safe mode, it shows the files that are being loaded, and it BSODs right after classpnp.sys
Now, I guess my main question is if OneKey will appear to work and yet maybe the HDD (hard drive) does not work. Could it be a matter of just replacing the hard drive? I did pull out the hard drive and re-mount it. Also the motherboard and re-mounted it. Is the OneKey function separate from the hard drive?
The laptop is so old that I wouldn't want to invest much money in its repair (warranty is past expiration date), but it's also been my daily computer, so I wouldn't mind if it was just a case of replacing a hard drive. With these problems, would it just be possible to make Ubuntu into my primary operating system by using an install disc?

Welcome to the Forums.
It looks like you have some bad sectors on the HDD that's why the OKR didn't work or for some reason, OKR worked but the bad sectors corrupted the OS installation files. To verify this, you will need to run diagnostics on the HDD (try ultimatebootcd as it has diagnostic tools for ever brand of HDD's)
Also, the OneKey Recovery runs on a hidden partition on the HDD (usually the last few sectors of the drive). It's possible to trigger the OneKey Recovery if the partition structure isn't damage but if the target drive has bad sectors (i.e. Drive C:\), it may fail to image the drive or corrupt the installation files.
If verified that you have bad sectors on the HDD, you will need to replace the HDD and from here, you can:
1. Use a recovery disc to restore the default OS (this is only psosible if you have created one using this method)
2. If you can still read the COA product key at the bottom, you can burn an ISO copy on this website and use it to clean install Windows into your PC (if you get issues activating Windows, try to activate by phone).
3. Scratch Windows and use Ubuntu as you're primary OS.

I recently tried to burn some photos to a disc. It did not work, but then I ended up with a .fpbf folder on my desktop. Can't trash it, and when trying to burn again, I get this "... can't be burned because the original items can't be found". Help???

I recently tried to burn some photos on a CD. For some reason, It did not work. Now I have a .fpbf folder on my desktop. I can't seem to get rid of it. I tried dragging it to the trash, but then I get a box asking my to type my password it, so Finder can make the changes. Doing so, does nothing at all. And when I try to burn another CD from the same .fpbf file, I get a the following message: "There are 35 items that can’t be burned because the original items can’t be found. Skip the items and continue burning?". When I skip and continue burning, nothing shows up on the CD. In the meantime, the .fpbf folder is still in my desktop. I tried changing the aliases on each pic, but it still doesn't work. Any ideas of how I can remove this folder from my desktop?

Thank you for your detailed explanation but something is seriously wrong with my computer. Although the method you have described is very similar to the one I tried in step 2 from my second post, I have since "done things" which may have complicated matters—or suggests that my computer has a more serious problem.
Here's what I did:
1). Installed Onyx and discovered that I had a .plist file (com.apple.iphotomosaic.plist) that was causing a Syntax error: "Conversion of data failed. The file is not UTF-8, or in the encoding specified in XML header, if XML." After doing some research online, I was given the understanding that downloading the iLife update 9.0.3 (I installed the more recent version, 9.0.4) would solve this problem because it would also fix some system issues. So, I downloaded it...and when it didn't solve the problem, I decided to just deleted that .plist file.
2). I read your knew post and decided to follow your directions, even though I realized they were basically the same steps I followed in the 2nd method I mentioned earlier. I say "basically" because, for some reason, after inserting a blank disc, my computer does not open the disc in the Finder. Instead, it places the blank disc's image on the Desktop, even though the Finder's Preferences and the System's Preferences are set to have it open in the Finder—nothing should be on my Desktop! (Note: When transferring the items (all folders) I want to burn to the blank disc, I did not use the Option-Click-Drag method as before, I used the Click-Drag method, which created the curved arrow in the lower left corner of each item.)
Now, for the result of "method 2," the method we basically have in common, the computer goes through the burn stage but, in the verify stage, tells me that it is unable to verify the disk, suggests that my DVD may be unreliable and that I should try another disc, and then tells me about some "fork" (?) error (-43).
I don't know what to do anymore...

Mozilla will continue to host the old version of Sync for a limited time...?

that it will work indefinitely, but only for your devices already paired/synced?

The new version of Sync will work in a limited capacity for a short time. You can use it as is, but you can't add new devices. You should upgrade to the new sync ASAP (it's more reliable and robust).

Are you using the correct disc?
Only * discs that don't say Update, DropIn, or OEM will install Snow Leopard on a Mac that didn't come with it.
For those Macs that came with Snow Leopard, which were the Macs released new after August 28, 2009, you must use the Snow Leopard installer that is labeled for that Mac.
Do you have a minimum of 1 GB of RAM on your Mac?
If you do, do you have any peripherals attached when you are trying the installation? If you do, remove them before attempting the installation.
If the installation still is having difficulty, have you tried zapping the PRAM as described below?

If that doesn't solve it, is there a Boot Camp partition on your Mac?

If there was no Boot Camp, it may mean you have a hardware issue with your machine. Some can be diagnosed with the startup disc that came with the computer:

If as your previous posts indicate this is for the used machine you bought, and the previous seller didn't give you the hardware test disc, insist they call AppleCare for you to get that disc, if they lost it.
Some MacBooks also fell under an exchange/repair program for the battery or logicboard that the hardware test can't diagnose, but you can determine that by serial number:
