BT ADSL Checker Questions

Hi all,
Newbie here. Just moved here from Australia and looking to get BT in my rental apartment.
Question 2:
I get different package results if I put in
"1 **** Court"
vs
"Flat 1, **** Court"
(even though they are the same address).
If I put in "1" - I can select the up to 40Mbps unlimited plans, whereas if I put in "Flat 1" then I only see the 20Mbps plans. Which should I believe?
Thanks,
m00g
Any answers would be most appreciated, and may help alleviate the confusion this has all caused!

So may be best to phone BT

  • BT Openreach ADSL Checker

    Why all of a sudden is the Openreach ADSL checker reporting that my line speed would only go up 8mb when a month ago at was showing upto 14mb and I'm clearly getting around 14mb on my line anyway?
    Bit concerned that this database error will affect things when I can apply for Infinity in my area when it goes live in March.
    Regards
    Simon

    Hi do not worry it will have no affect on infinity as that is a totally separate product and when available will show your approximate speed for that service the data base change to reflect occasional connection changes certainly do not worry also please remember infinity live dates are estimates and may and do change

  • BT ADSL Checker

    Hi All,
    I have used the new checker at https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/pls/adsl/adslchecker.welcome
    One question what does this statement mean:
    The Stop Sale date for Datastream is from 30-Jun-2012; the Formal Retirement date for Datastream is from 31-Mar-2014.
    Hope someone can help.
    Thanks

    Hi Keith,
    I have just run the ADSL Checker (first time for some months) and that seems to have changed format, viz :-

    For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage. Throughput/download speeds will be less than line rates and can be affected by a number of factors within and external to BT's network, Communication Providers' networks and within customer premises.
    The Stop Sale date for Datastream is from 30-Jun-2012; the Formal Retirement date for Datastream is from 31-Mar-2014. The Stop Sale date for IPstream is from 31-Oct-2013; the Formal Retirement date for IPstream is from 31-Mar-2014.
    If the End User wishes to migrate from their current Broadband supplier they will need to contact them in the first instance to obtain a MAC (Migrations Authorisation) Code, and then contact their new Broadband supplier to arrange for the service to be migrated.
    Note: Please note that postcode and address check results are indicative only. Most accurate results can be obtained from a telephone number check.
    Thank you for your interest.
    Was it some sort of update by BT Wholesale like the speedtester ?

  • ADSL Checker Information Changed?

    Hi
    Last week when I entered my phone number into the ADSL Checker it stated:
    Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that it is VERY UNLIKELY you will be able to receive fixed 512Kbps broadband service due to the very long length of your telephone line. However, your order will be accepted if you still wish to order.   Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL Max broadband line speed of 1Mbps; typically the line speed would
    But when I have checked again today it now says:
    Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a fixed line speed up to 512Kbps. However, due to the length of your line, an engineer visit may be required, who will, where possible, supply the broadband service.
    Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL Max broadband line speed of 750Kbps; typically the line speed would range between 750Kbps and 2.5Mbps.
    Our test also indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL2+ broadband service that provides a fixed line speed up to 512Kbps. However, due to the length of your line, an engineer visit may be required, who will, where possible, supply the broadband service.
    Our test also indicates that your line currently supports an estimated ADSL2+ broadband line speed of 1Mbps; typically the line speed would range between 1Mbps and 3Mbps.
    The only thing that has changed in the meantime is that I have had my BT Total Broadband connection connected. Could the ADSL Checker data have been updated off the back of that?
    I'm convinced BT have the wrong information on file regarding my line's broadband/infinity potential and this latest change of information on their website seems a potential further pointer to this perhaps being the case?
    In addition, average speed from Speedtest.net shows 0.3mps so far...albeit I'm within the initial 10 day period but nevertheless will it really jump to 1-3mb average by the end of the test period?

  • Authorization check question

    Hi all, I have a question regarding authority-check.
    I have a program with some custom buttons, these buttons will show a small window where the user has to enter some data. This data then will be shown in an ALV grid, and also be saved in a custom table.
    There are two buttoms, and I have to check is the user has authorization for each one of them. How do I do that? what would be the authorization object? and what would be the activity?. does the authorization object needs to be created somewhere? if so, can you give me the transaction?.
    TIA Mauro.

    Hello,
    You can create your own authorization object using Tcode SU21. Use the authorization object when he clicks on the button.

  • AP Checks Question

    We are beginning to look at printing signatures on our AP checks with something like Evergreen and a number of other customizations. However I would like to look into simply sending all the payment information to a Automated Clearing House (ACH) and let them handle the Checks, EFT or what every and we would not have to be concerned with signing or even printing checks.
    If any one has any experience or ideas along this line please share.

    What is your EBS version ? Have you explored printing checks on your own using XML Publisher ? It would be cheaper then using an ACH, I believe. We use this method without any special printers or stock.

  • Spell checking question

    I have Mail set to automatically check spelling before it sends an email. Currently, Mail starts checking after where the cursor is positioned (so after what I just typed) and checks all the content in the message. In long threads, where messages have a lot of quoted text, it's a huge pain to have to keep clicking "ignore" as it works it's way through the quoted text -- after all, how asinine is it to correct past exchanges in the thread?
    So my question is: is there a way to have Mail start its auto spell-check at the beginning of an email, regardless of where the cursor is, and only check text with a quote level of zero?
    Thanks.

    It doesn't do what you want, but ...
    I have it set to check as I type, so it just underlines in red whatever it finds. I can then choose to fix it or ask it (control-click the underlined word) or ignore it without having the prompt appearing on every error.

  • BT ADSL Checker Misleading

    Hi,
    Why does the BT checker say your cabinet is being upgraded to WBC FTTC and anticipated speeds of 500k down and 100Kb up when the truth of the matter is you will not be able to avail of the service?
    I have been caught out this way as I was previously with TT and when I checked and saw this I thought great fibre here we come! I order BT so that when the fibre was available (3 weeks from ordering Option 3) it would speed up the process of getting fibre. I even phoned infinity to ask about the low speeds on the checker and was told this was probably because it had not been tested so BT were unable to give accurate speeds. I continue with my order and then through other enquiries discover that I am too far from the cabinet that is being upgraded hence the low speeds.
    I am not a telephone expert and assumed that the green box at the end of my street was being upgraded to find out from a wholesale person that this is a distribution post and not a cabinet (look all the same to me even pics on google)
    The overall problem I have apart from being very disappointed is that I feel I was misled by the checker ie if it had not been on the results page I would have continued to use the meagre 1mb download I was getting from TT whereas now I am getting half that and fighting with BT to get my profile changed across to ADSL2+
    I think the easy solution for the BT checker is either add a line in stating the speeds reported will not be acceptable to order BT Infinity or remove it all together to stop building peoples hopes up (There are a number of posts in a thread regarding this)
    This may sound like a rant to some, but I feel its justified to warn others who are expecting to get Infinity when the truth of the matter is its only a very small percentage are going to be able to get this!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi, Yes points noted about assuming, my fault but when you are stuck on a 1MB line due to distance the slightest glimmer is a bright light light!
    I order BT so that when the fibre was available (3 weeks from ordering Option 3) it would speed up the process of getting fibre.
    Maybe you should have checked up first .... instead of after..?
    Check with who? Sam Knows, ADSL Wholesale Checker, BT Infinity who else, wholesale dont speak with members of the public for a general enquiry, hence I emailed the CEO to get a response.
    So the chairman's office said you could get Infinity? ... Did you get a BT linecheck done to see?
    I even phoned infinity to ask about the low speeds on the checker and was told this was probably because it had not been tested so BT were unable to give accurate speeds.
    Clearly the adviser was trying ot think of a plausible reason why ... not to dupe you.
    I am not suggesting the adviser was trying to dupe me but they do work in the department and they could have pointed out that the speeds being quoted would not have been acceptle for any order
    That's assuming everybody "trusts" the speed checkers, and they don't,  merely a guide.
    They aren't responsible for you not checking it all out first... are they?
    The overall problem I have apart from being very disappointed is that I feel I was misled by the checker ie if it had not been on the results page I would have continued to use the meagre 1mb download I was getting from TT whereas now I am getting half that and fighting with BT to get my profile changed across to ADSL2+
    Well as it turns out from your own valition, the checker must have been giving accurate results....
    The only accurate results the checker is giving are the Infinity results. On a daily basis it varies whether my ADSL2+ line can support 500Kb to 1.5Mb
    Then your line is marginal for adsl2+, it's a marginal product, not everyone benefits from the upgrade. Did you not investigate that either?
    And besides if you know that ... why trust to order BT option 3 on that basis?
    I think the easy solution for the BT checker is either add a line in stating the speeds reported will not be acceptable to order BT Infinity or remove it all together to stop building peoples hopes up (There are a number of posts in a thread regarding this)
    The tool is meant to be a technical aid, and not for empowering people's hopes or aspirations.
    Unfortunately I have read too many forums were this the case
    Don't understand the comment. But if you're going to enter any contract for services from any provider, you exhaust all avenues and opinions first, not just sign up and hope for the best....
    Fiction ... the majority of people located within suitable loop loss areas of streetside msans will get Infinity.
    Otherwise what's the point of rolling it out. Will everybody get it?  ... No.
    Granted, but not everyone lives in an area lucky enough to have this.
    That's hardly BT's fault either is it .... thought of perhaps moving?
    The copper line that is carrying the fibre speeds runs at the back of me so it only adds insult to injury.
    If that's true, which I doubt it would probably be a copper multicore that is fully employed by others, so you wouldn't get a look in anyhow, or someone's metallic pair that can't get it either.
     There are only 180 dwellings where I live so BT wont extend this any further due to costs and now will look at Rutland or a local operator who is will to venture into this world.
    If it's not commercially viable why would you expect anybody to do it?
    I think you've maybe been unlucky in this instance .... things may change, and often do!
    I hope you are right but I am not hopeful!!
    getting quite colourful ... maybe a new trend we started.

  • ADSL Checker not showing Infinity which is Due

    So for my postcode it says June 2014, I also checked on BT wholesale website and I dont understand the results in my area.
    This is what it says
    I get 15mb download now (if thats what downstream means) , so why is it showing atleast half that, and Why isnt it showing WBC Fibre as coming soon when the Open reach site does?
    I really dont understand what it is saying, considering it is saying that my town is getting Fibre Optic in June

    You should not actually have Infinity you should have a service called "BT Option3 with fibre" which until very recently has been a trial product that you could only get if you asked. The main difference between the two products is the minmum speed guarantee of 12Mb/sec on Infinity. Therefore the Infinity checker did not show sub 15Mb/sec predictions but the widely used wholesale checker does go to https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html.
    The checkers were set at a very conservative level because they assume that as more lines are activated cross talk will cause speeds to fall, the reduction being thought more likely on longer lines. Late last year the estimates were increased so my line currrently  shows a prediction of 33Mb/sec when I currently get 35Mb/sec but when I ordered it was showing 22Mb/sec. Until the early cabinets are fully loaded, typically each can handle 288 lines, I suspect BT will remain cautious.

  • Check question using HashSet

    I am trying to stop the same question from appearing again on the screen ones it has been answered. like store the last question and then check to see if it's not already been asked. . just want to no with what i have up to now am i on the right tracks or not? been told to use HashSet also.
    code:
    // the question being shown
    String question=questionLabel.getText();
    // gets the new question
    String newQuestion=ClientCommunication.getRandomQuestion();
    // where trying to check the the newQuestion is not already been asked
    try {
    HashSet questionhash = new HashSet();
    questionhash.add(question);
    System.out.println(questionhash);
    if(newQuestion.equals(questionhash))
    newQuestion=ClientCommunication.getRandomQuestion();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("Error: " + e); }
    // shows the new question
    questionLabel.setText(newQuestion);
    answerField.setText("");
    any helpful hints / tips i would be grateful
    cheers chris

    That can be fixed a little:
    try {
      HashSet questionhash = new HashSet();
      String question = null;
      do {
        question = ClientCommunication.getRandomQuestion();
      } while (! questionhash.add(question) )
      System.out.println(questionhash);
      questionLabel.setText(question);
      answerField.setText("");
    } catch (Exception e) { //catch specific exceptions rather than Exception e...
      e.printStackTrace();;
    }My preference would be to make the ClientCommunication class create a Stack with random order of questions, each time a guestion is asked for pop it out of the Stack, add it to a 'read' List and return it. Return null when you reach the end of the Stack (as a signal) and then reshuffle the List and fill the Stack again. This way, once-only and random order can be controlled at the source, which IMHO is better...

  • LiveCache Consistency Check question, OM17

    I have a general question about a LiveCache Consistency Check (transaction OM17).  I know that it is a data inconsistency b/w the SAP APO database and SAP APO LiveCache.  But what does that mean to a functional user?  Can someone explain this in layman's terms?

    In Layman terms, you can say that this checks the INCONSISTENCY between LiveCache and Database.
    Here is a detailed documentation on each of the Object Types
    Consistency Check for Setup Matrices
    The consistency check for setup matrices contains:
    · A check whether the setup matrices exist in liveCache
    · A check whether the setup transitions exist in liveCache
    · A field comparison between the setup transitions in the database and those in liveCache
    When the setup matrices are corrected, the setup matrices in liveCache are completely generated from those in the database. Previously nonexistent setup matrices and setup transitions are newly created in liveCache. Superfluous setup transitions are deleted from liveCache. Setup transitions that differ at the field level are adjusted to match the database status.
    Consistency Comparison for Block Basis Definitions
    Use
    When you set this indicator, checks are performed in liveCache and in the database on characteristic values for block basis definitions:
    · The existence of block basis definitions is checked.
    · The consistency of the characteristic values is checked.
    After the checks you can call a correction function in the check results display. When correcting the error, the system deletes obsolete block basis definitions in liveCache. The system completes or corrects missing or inconsistent block basis definitions in liveCache.
    Note
    The check is performed independently of the planning version.
    Consistency Check for Resources
    The consistency check for resources contains:
    · A check that the resource and corresponding time stream exist in liveCache
    · An check that a resource's characteristic blocks exist in liveCache
    · A field comparison between the database resource and the liveCache resource
    When correcting the resources, the resources in liveCache are completely generated from the database resources. Previously nonexistent resources are created in liveCache.
    Consistency check for downtimes caused by maintenance order
    The consistency check for maintenance downtimes contains:
    A check that the maintenance downtime has a reference to an existing maintenance order.
    A check that the dates of maintenance downtime correspond to the exisiting maintenance order.
    When correcting the maintenance downtime errors, downtimes without maintenance order are deleted and wrong dates of downtimes are corrected in relation to the maintenance order.
    Consistency Check for Product Location Combinations
    Use
    If you set this indicator the system executes a consistency check for product location combinations. The consistency check for product location combinations includes:
    · A check for the existence of a product location combination in the database and in liveCache
    · A field comparison between product location combinations in the database and in liveCache
    · The determination of obsolete entries for product location combinations in the database
    · A check for the existence of characteristic value assignments for product location combinations in the database and in liveCache
    · A field comparison of characteristic value assignments for product location combinations in the database and in liveCache
    After the check you can call a correction function from the display of check results. For the correction, the system deletes obsolete product location combinations from the database and in liveCache. The system corrects inconsistent product location combinations and characteristic value assignments for product location combinations in liveCache.
    Consistency Check for Stocks
    Use
    If you set this indicator the system executes a consistency check for stocks. The consistency check for stocks includes:
    · A check for the existence of a stock in the database and in liveCache
    · A field comparison between stocks in the database and in liveCache
    · The determination of obsolete entries for stocks in the database
    · A check for the existence of characteristic value assignments in the database and in liveCache
    · A field comparison between characteristic value assignments for batch stocks in the database and in liveCache
    After the check, you can call a correction function from the display of check results. For the correction, the system attempts to correct inconsistent stocks in the database and in liveCache. If a correction is not possible, the stocks are deleted in the database and in liveCache. The system corrects characteristic value assignments for batch stocks in liveCache.
    After inconsistent stocks have been corrected, it may be necessary to start the delta report in order to reconcile SAP APO and SAP R/3.
    Consistency Comparison of Configuration/CDP for Orders
    Use
    When you set this indicator, the system performs a consistency check with regard to configuration or CDP (characteristic value assignments/ requirements) for receipts/requirements belonging to orders:
    · In the case of products with variant configuration and product variants, the system checks whether there is a referenced configuration in the database.
    · In the case of products with CDP, the system checks whether CDP characteristics exist.
    Note
    In the area Restrictions, you can use the indicator CDP: Detailed Check to define a detailed check for CDP characteristics. If you set this indicator, the CDP data used for the orders is also compared with the product master.
    · For products without configuration/CDP, the system checks whether invalid references to variant configuration or invalid CDP characteristics data exist.
    After the check, you can call a correction function in the check results display. When executing the correction, the system tries to adjust inconsistent orders in liveCache.
    After inconsistent orders have been corrected, you may need to start the delta report to compare the SAP R/3 system and SAP APO again.
    Dependencies
    The consistency check for configuration or CDP data is very time-consuming. You should therefore limit the comparison as far as possible to certain products or locations.
    Consistency Check for Production Campaigns
    If orders are assigned to production campaigns that do not exist in the database, this leads to inconsistent campaigns.
    You can correct inconsistent production campaigns by removing all orders from them. That means that the campaign assignments are removed from the orders in liveCache.
    Consistency Check for Operations
    In the database table of /SAPAPO/OPR operations, there may exist operations that have no orders in liveCache, no orders for a simulation version, orders for deleted simulation versions, or no external operation number. These operations place an unnecessary load on the database table and can hinder system performance.
    Consistency Check for Planning Matrices
    As planning matrices are not master data, they are only located in liveCache. For each production version, there is a record in the database with information about matrices that must exist for this production version and whether the last matrix explosion was successful.
    The consistency check for planning matrices checks:
    · Whether the matrices associated with each record on the database exist in liveCache
    · Whether the records associated with all the matrices in liveCache exist on the database
    · Whether the last matrix explosion was successful.
    If inconsistencies are discovered, they can be corrected. As corrections are made by recalculating the inconsistent matrices, the process can take a while and should only be done for large matrices (with many orders or many item variants) at times when it can be guaranteed not to hinder any other system processes.
    Consistency Check for Simulation Versions
    This is a check for whether simulation versions exist in liveCache.
    Correction does not take place automatically. Simulation versions that still exist in the database but no longer exist in liveCache do not influence the running of the system. If necessary, they can be deleted using transaction /SAPAPO/CDPSS0.
    Consistency Check for Product Allocations
    The consistency check for product allocations checks the data for product allocation assignment from the database and compares this with the incoming orders quantity in Demand Planning. Surpluses or shortages are displayed and can be corrected.
    The reconcile is only executed for product allocation groups with a direct connection to the product allocation group in the planning area if the connection is also fully defined.
    There may be long runtimes during the consistency check due to the data structure. The following factors can hinder performance:
    · Number of characteristics combinations
    · Number of periods in a time series
    · Number of sales orders that take product allocations from a time stream
    Error in the reconcile
    If it is not possible to reconcile the incoming orders quantity, the data records are issued again with a relevant error message. Check the following causes and attempt again.
    Check:
    · If the planning area to be checked is locked
    · If the time streams are initialized (after liveCache has been initialized)
    · If all characteristics combinations area available in the planning area
    · The wildcard indicator for collective product allocation
    · The settings for your planning area
    Due Delivery Schedules/Confirmations Consistency Check
    When a scheduling agreement release is received from a customer for sales and distribution scheduling agreement items, a due delivery schedule is created and stored in liveCache. As soon as a confirmation for a due delivery schedule containing at least one schedule line with a quantity larger than zero is generated, an object is also created for it in liveCache. The transaction data for sales and distribution scheduling agreement items contains, amongst other things, an entry with the key of the due delivery schedule object currently located in liveCache and an entry with the key of the confirmation that is currently valid in the database. During the check, the system checks whether liveCache objects exist for sales and distribution scheduling agreement items and whether the transaction data entries are correct.
    The following individual checks are made for active sales and distribution scheduling agreement items:
    · Is there an operative scheduling agreement release and/or forecast/planning delivery schedule in the database, but no associated liveCache object?
    · Is there a confirmation in the database, but no associated liveCache object?
    · Is there a due delivery schedule in liveCache, without at least one existing operative scheduling agreement release and/or forecast/planning delivery schedule?
    · Is there a confirmation in liveCache, without an existing confirmation in the database?
    · Is the key in the transaction data in the database that shows the current due delivery schedule in liveCache, also that of the actual liveCache object?
    · Is there actually a confirmation in the database for the key in the transaction data that shows the currently valid confirmation in the database?
    If a sales and distribution scheduling agreement item is inactive, there are not allowed to be any due delivery schedules or confirmations in liveCache. In this case, the following checks are made:
    · Is there a due delivery schedule in liveCache for an inactive sales and distribution scheduling agreement item?
    · Is there a confirmation in liveCache for an inactive sales and distribution scheduling agreement item?
    Consistency Check for Production Backflushes
    Partially confirmed orders cannot be deleted from liveCache. For each partially confirmed order of the database table, there must be a corresponding order in liveCache. If no order exists, there is a data inconsistency that can only be rectified by deleting the order from the database tables of the confirmation.
    Entries for orders that have already been confirmed exist in the status matrix. The entry in an order's status matrix is deleted when the confirmed order is deleted by the /SAPAPO/PPC_ORD archiving report. Each status matrix entry for which database tables of the confirmation do not exist, present an inconsistency that can only be removed by deleting the status matrix entry.
    Consistency Check for iPPE Objects
    The iPPE object is not an iPPE master data structure. It is a data extract that is generated for each iPPE access object.
    The consistency check for the object checks that it exists in liveCache and also determines its identity using the backup copy in the database. When correcting the object, the copy from the database is written to liveCache.
    It is necessary to check the object if the following error message occurs: 'Error while calling COM routines via application program' (/sapapo/om 102) with return code 1601, 1602, or 1603. This does not apply to liveCache initialization.
    Consistency Check for Procurement Scheduling Agreement Items
    The following three objects represent procurement scheduling agreement items (scheduling agreement in short):
    1. Scheduling agreement schedule lines
    2. Release schedule lines
    3. Confirmations
    All these objects are located in liveCache. Release schedule lines and confirmations are also located in the database with a historical record. Depending on the process that was set up for the scheduling agreement, not all objects exist in liveCache or have historical records.
    If goods movements exist for an object, there must always be at least one entry in liveCache. If all schedule lines are covered by goods receipts, at least one schedule line will exist in liveCache with the number '0000000000' and an open quantity of 0.
    A liveCache crash, operator errors, and program errors can all cause inconsistencies. Below is a list of all the inconsistent statuses that have been identified and that can be removed:
    1. The object is not in liveCache but goods receipts exist.
    2. The number of input nodes and output nodes is different.
    3. There are no input nodes at the order, but the material exists in the source location for the order.
    4. The original quantity at the source of an order is different from that at the destination.
    5. The accumulated quantities in liveCache are different from those in the database (the cumulative received quantity, for example).
    6. The set process is compared with the status in liveCache.
    7. A check is made to see whether the scheduling agreement is being planned in APO or in R/3 and whether the schedule lines have the appropriate specification.
    If a schedule line inconsistency is identified, no more checks for inconsistencies are made, instead it moves on to the next schedule line.
    Consistency Check for MSP Orders
    Provides a list of maintenance and slot orders that
    ·     Exist in the database but have no corresponding orders in the liveCache
    ·     Exist in the liveCache, but have no corresponding orders in the database
    Procedure
    From within the list, you can either
    ·     Correct the inconsistencies
    If you choose to do this, the system deletes the selected orders from the database and/or liveCache.
    You receive a message that the selected order(s) have been deleted.
    ·     Leave the inconsistencies in the database and/or liveCache
    Such inconsistencies place an unnecessary load on the database and/or liveCache.  Moreover, those orders that exist in the liveCache, but have no corresponding orders in the database, influence the scheduling results of subsequent orders in the liveCache
    Hope this helps

  • Spell checker question

    The text I'm entering on a particular forum is not being checked for spelling errors. A member of that forum said it didn't have a spell checker and he used an add on for his browser which was internet explorer. Is there a similar add-on for Firefox?
    Thanks. Jim B.

    "Not all locales come with a dictionary installed due to licensing reasons." Could this be the problem?
    The English (United States) version has a dictionary installed by default. Regardless of your Firefox language, if you want more dictionaries, the aforementioned article explains how to add them.

    When I right click on the box, I see the check spelling option has a check mark next to it but it doesn't seem to be working.
    Does the forum in question have a Reply box that is accessible to unregistered users? If so, could you post a link to the page?

  • Multiple condition checking question

    Hi I have a newbie question -
    if ((temp == null) && (!temp.text.equals(""))) {
    statement;
    If temp really is null, would this give a compiler error? or would it simply break after the first condition?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    I'm curious though what you're trying to accomplish. You seem to be confused about the meaning of &&.
    or would it simply break after the first condition?&& and || are "short-circuit" operators. They stop evaluating once the truth of the operation is known. So if the first operand to && is false, it stops there and does not evaluate the second, since the result of the && must be false, regardless of what the second operand is. Likewise, if the first operand to || is true, then it doesn't evaluate the second one, because the result is true regardless.

  • OS/DB Migration Check Question

    Hi,
    I am planning an OS/DB Migration for a ECC 5 legacy production system that is now only used as a reference system. This system is currently on AIX/Oracle and will be moving to Windows/SQL and will just be as a reference system only. What I want to know is will we have to order a Migration Check as this isn't really a Productive system that needs moving?
    Thanks
    Simon.

    So we could change the Client Role in scc4 to something other than production, i.e. Demo or Test and then do the migration that way?
    The Migration Consultant is only needed to order the Migration Check so if this is not needed then any Basis person should be able to perform the migration.
    Thanks
    Simon

  • Adobe Section 508 compliance check question

    I've run the Adobe Section 508 compliance check on a document.  The only errors I receive now are 5 tables without designated table headers.  I click on the link to these tables, but nothing happens.  It doesn't point me to the tables with the errors.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I'm using Adobe Pro v9.2.0.

    I work at a college and have to create complex Section 508-compliant PDFs throughout the year. Though you've probably upgraded to CS6 or higher, I thought I'd share info on an ID plug-in that is very helpful with determining and setting the reading order from within ID. It is called "FrameMaker," by Rorohiko, and it puts a tiny label on each frame of a page. For example, if I select a frame, the reading order "number" will show on the top right of the frame. So I'll know immediately that I need to fix the order before creating a pdf.
    Very inexpensive. Definitely worth the money.

    BTW: If you have to create text files from large ID files, their TextExporter is fabulous.
