BT are being unhelpful, engineer dont turn up and ...

Hi, we have been a Sky customer for a few years or so with ~2.5mbs download, and recentley we saw that BT was able to provide us with an estimated speed of 72.1mbs download and 20mbs upload, according to their postcode/address check. We wanted their infinity 2 service, so we went and orderd it last month.
We were told that the phone line will be transferred on the 16th of May, 2012, which was also the date where the engineer was supposed to come, and that the delivery package will be recieved on the 14th. We did recieve the Home Hub 3, and a small black box, which appears to be two ethernet cables.
On the 16th, we waited all day for the engineer to turn up, and, as you guess, no one turns up. We call and call, and we are told the phone line will transfer on the 16th, however on the 17th, it just cut off mid day and the phoneline failed to transfer.
We were told on the 16th, that there was an unexpected problem at the exchange, and the problem will be resolved within 48hrs, however they failed to fix it, and they failed to transfer the phone line. Now we have no phone line and no internet, seems we would have been better off with Sky broadband, at least we would have had some connection to the internet. I find myself having to use my mobile phone internet to tether to my laptop for internet access.
I know this bit may sound stupid but, I am in the middle of my exam period and internet access is vital for my revision, and we ordered infinity 2 with no expetations of such problems. I have read that people have had an engineer visit delayed by a short while, but now, we dont even have a phone line.
Im acually feeling hopeless here, we have called them enough times with pointless useless replies that dont tell us anything about when we will get our internet, or phone line. We can't even use the landline to call BT, so our calls aren't free using a mobile.

    All it takes is for one computer to be infected by a virus (obviously a PC) that sends all its contacts to the hacker's server, and then all these contacts are used as recipients to scam emails.  Hackers even post stolen contacts on the web for others to use.

    To identify your iMessages as coming from your phone number go to Settings>Messages>Receive At>Caller ID and select your phone number rather than your email address.  Also, the email can't be removed because this is the email address linked to the Apple ID you are using for iMessage.  If you really want to remove it you have to go to Settings>Messages>Receive At, tap the Apple ID at the top and sign out.

    I have 2 NAT rules, each with a route-map to determine which packets are translated. What I don't understand is how to control which NAT rule is applied first..?
    In my config, the first of the following rules is applied first, and then the other. I would like to have it the other way round, the second being applied first, and the first being applied second.

    The reason why I want it this way round is because the first rule NAT's almost everything so that I can access the Internet. The second rule NAT's specific traffic to a different address.
    If I want traffic to be NATTED according to the second rule, I have to deny traffic in the first associated ACL, and permit it in the second ACL. That means I basically have to configure each ACL each time I want packets to be matched by the second NAT rule - there must be a better way of doing it!!!
    Any help would be most appreciated.

    Hello, here's the basic (shortened list). If I want packets to be matched by NAT_RADIANZ_PIXACCESS_ACL I have to put a deny in NAT_INTERNET_ACCESS_ACL. If I could make sure that the first list is used first, and then anything left over compared against the second, then it would make life/editing much easier...

    Manage Databases Upgrade Status will provide you all active and offline DB details, you can get same result
    using below PowerShell cmdlet.
    Get-SPDatabase and Get-SPContentDatabase will provide all active database/Content DB in Farm which include Service application db, central admin DB.
    Get-SPDatabase | Format-Table Name, ID
    Coming back to your question, if you find that there are some site are not completely upgraded then run below command and understand the cause if issue on specific DB.
    Test-SPContentDatabase WSS_ContentDB_Name
    If you find any missing file issue in DB then resolve these issue to upgrade content database.
    (verify all customizations referenced within the content database are also installed in the web application. This cmdlet can be issued
    against a content database currently attached to the farm, or a content database that is not connected to the farm )
    Use the Upgrade-SPContentDatabase cmdlet
    to resume a failed database upgrade or begin a build-to-build database upgrade against a SharePoint content database

    I don't know what WoW is, but it sounds like a website has been giving you unwanted pop-ups. Firefox is like the car you drive to navigate the web, so a pop-up is like you parking at a store and someone comes out between you and the store to sell you something.
    What I'm saying is, those ads are not provided by Firefox. There is a tool in Firefox to block pop-ups though. See [[Pop-up blocker]]

  • Psd files are being saved as .14 file format and I cannot open them

    I have been creating a few large (100MB+) files in Adobe Photoshop CS4. I saved the files both as .psd and .jpg. When I restarted my computer the next day, I went to open the file and instead of seeing the normal Photoshop icon on the file it was just a blank page icon. After attempting to open it in CS4 it flashes an alert saying, "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document. Then when I hover my cursor over the icon the File Type says "14 File"
    I then clicked the help button in CS4 to solve the problem only to be greeted with another error message of, "There was an error loading the Adobe Help Application, you may need to re-install the application and the help component" which would be all well and good if I were at home and had the original handy. Unfortunately I am out of town and unable to do so. I do not wish to buy another version of Photoshop but I need to work on these files. Please Help

    I'm not sure what happened. I would suspect something with your system, hopefully not malware.
    Run a Anti virus scan. Also do some disk maintenance, check disk, cleanup, and defrag.
    You can rename the files with the correct extensions and see if they open.
    Let's see. You don't have access to your discs, but you can download the installer:
    Download CS4 products
    Have your serial number ready and if CS4 was an upgrade, the qualifying serial number.
    You can these under the account you registered them under with Adobe.
    Usually here: https://www.adobe.com/account/my-products-services.html
    If you uninstall the old CS4, use the Cleaner tool to remove any remnants.
    Also checkmark "Remove Preferences" when uninstalling.
    Do this all using your admin account.

    Go to Settings>Notes>Default Account and set it to iCloud.  Then open the Notes app, tap Accounts at the top, tap your iCloud account on the Accounts list, then try creating a new note and confirm that it appears on icloud.com now.  If it does, leave things this way and your notes will sync properly with iCloud.

    Here's a blip from the IOS Message support site:
    On iPhone, if iMessage is unavailable, the message may be sent as SMS or MMS, depending on content. Carrier messaging rates may apply. You can adjust this behavior in iPhone at Settings > Messages > Send As SMS. Messages sent using iMessage appear in a light blue bubble, while messages sent using SMS or MMS appear in a green bubble.
