BT AVRCP 1.3 support

New Nokia phone have BT AVRCP 1.3 support, what yhis mean in practise and is there any accessory on the markets where is that profile supported?

Hi,
I've just got an N79 but it does not support the transmission of the track name to the stereo headset I have which has a screen. The track info was displayed on it from my last phone but not the N79 In wikipedia is suggests full AVRCP v1.3 support provides:
"It has the possibility for vendor-dependent extensions. Additionally, with the version 1.3 release of the specification, there is now capability to transmit information on the status of the music source (playing, stopped, etc), including information on the track itself (artist, track name, etc)."
Does any Nokia N series support transmission of currently playing track name to headset?
Cheers,
Stephen.

  • Not getting stereo audio out of earphones with iPod touch

I own an iPod touch 2nd generation which I have had since January 2008. For some time, I have had issues with the audio when using earphones with my iPod, where the audio comes out one side but not both. Occasionally, if I bend the earphone part that plugs into the jack a certain way, it will be fine, but most of the time it is not. I have purchased many pairs of earphones due to this problem, thinking it was an earphone problem, including a fairly expensive set of Skullcandy earphones (which I lost when they fell out of my pocket), but the problem has persisted. I am beginning to think the problem is the iPod, not the earphones. Any advice?

The 2, 3 and 4th generation iPod all support the same BT profiles so most common headphone should work. The iPod supports Advanced Audio
    Distribution Profile
    (A2DP) and
    Audio/Video Remote
    Control Profile
    (AVRCP)1
    1. iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPad, iPod touch (2nd generation), and iPod touch (4th generation) support pause, play, stop, next track and previous track for AVRCP.

  • Bluetooth audio problem and 2011 Mazda 3

There is a great deal of conflicting information in regards to bluetooth audio compatibility and various cars (2011 Mazda 3 in my case) and the iphone 4... So I'm trying to get a straight answer!
Anyway my car (according to Mazda) supports AVRCP 1.3, however when pairing to my Verizon iPhone (4.2.6), the car reports BT Audio (which denotes that the device has less than AVRCP 1.3 support).
So question 1... Does the iphone support AVRCP 1.3 in its entirety or is it some limited incarnation of it or simply just A2DP?
Question 2... The options that I have with BT Audio allow me to skip the track, but won't allow me to pause/stop (I hit the pause/stop and the audio stops for split second and then restarts) So what's the story here?
Question 3... What am I supposed to expect from the iphone 4 in terms of bluetooth support? i.e.
Plays blue tooth audio? (Yes it does that quite well in my car)
Allows Skip, Pause functions from car controls? (It skips track, but NOT Pause)
Shows current playing track? (Ok I'd assume that the most advanced smart phone on the planet would support this simple function, but I don't believe it does and if it doesn't...why not?)
    Answers anyone?

Yes, the iPhone does support AVRCP. The Supported Bluetooth profiles article says that it supports "pause, play, stop, next track and previous track for AVRCP."
When you look at Wikipedia, the AVRCP profile goes up to 1.4. It looks like the iPhone supports the 1.0 profile.
Question 2... The options that I have with BT Audio allow me to skip the track, but won't allow me to pause/stop (I hit the pause/stop and the audio stops for split second and then restarts) So what's the story here?
Thats all that AVRCP 1.0 supports.

The first article that I linked provides details about what bluetooth profiles are supported by the iPhone and what you can expect it to do.
To get the most functionality, you'll want to keep your car stereo and your iPhone updated. Previous iOS updates have included support for more bluetooth profiles.

  • Nokia 6085 its support AVRCP

    Hi.
I do not obtain to control the volume of a Bluetooth Speaker through Nokia 6085.
The control functions in the Midia Player. However it does not function in the Music Player.
The 6085 do not support support AVRCP (Audio/video Remote Control Profile).
Or it would be a problem in firmware of the Music Player.
The Bluetooth Speaker functioned correctly with a Nokia and 50.
    Thanks

Figured it out myself. My bad ... )

  • BB10 Support for Bluetooth AVRCP 1.4??

    Hi guys,
This is something that has been bugging me for a while and I could not find answers anywhere else on the internet regarding this.
AVRCP 1.4 is the evolution of AVRCP 1.3, which enables bluetooth connected devices (eg.: a cars infotainment system) to search through the phones music playlists, display album art, playlist information and etc.
As it seems to me, this is not supported by the latest official OS release.
My question is: Is this in BlackBerry's TO-DO list?? iOS7 and Android KitKat both support the AVRCP 1.4 bluetooth profile, which makes me wonder why BB has not enabled this yet?
I attach the link to a pdf explaining everything there is to know about AVRCP 1.4
BB, please make this work !!!!

HOWEVER According to Nokia the media player has not been updtated to use the new features... this means that the features exist on the phone, but you cannot use them... apparantly.
Sounds like you're describing a product from the old USSR.
Another feature missing from the N8 is what Damian Dinning mentioned while discussing the N8's camera with GSMarena:
If you prefer the more processed look, you can adjust the color and sharpness settings on-the-fly and the Nokia N8 will remember those settings for the next time you start the camera.
I can't get this to work on my N8. Does it mean that the feature is there but I can't use it?

  • Does the Ipod Touch 5th generation support AVRCP for bluetooth connectivity.

Do the Ipod Touch 5th generation support AVRCP for bluetooth connectivity.
I would like to know if it supports the volume control, call answering function and next/back song panel in a bluetooth headphone. (AVRCP bluetooth)
Does it support headphones with microphone? (for Face Time, TinyChat or recording)
Does it support this device on bluetooth with the Ipod Touch 5th Gen?

Though this wasn't updated (not having the Ipod Touch 5) but seeing the Ipod Touch 4 having both AVRCP and A2DP, Ipod Touch 5 should also have those...
Thank you so much... Have a wonderful day

  • 4.2 for Pearl 8100 for support of Bluetooth A2DP or AVRCP to pair with Motorola S9 headset

According to Doc ID : KB13930, it'll be supported on BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2.  Does anybody know when it'll be released or if one can participate in a beta trial of the software?
<< The Bluetooth Stereo Audio Profile is supported in BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2. BlackBerry devices running BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 or earlier do not support this feature. For more information on BlackBerry devices running BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 or later see KB04195.
Note: A BlackBerry device user may successfully pair with a Bluetooth enabled headset if the BlackBerry device is running BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1; however, the music audio is unable to be heard on the headset and comes out through the speakerphone.>>

    Hey all,
As with most of you, I'm experiencing the same issues with both my mouse and keyboard not pairing after changing batteries. I spoke with my tech guy at work and he knows of the problem and told me how to fix it - which I tried but couldn't do it. So I brought them into work and gave then to my tech guy just to see if they would pair with another Mac G5. He was having the same problem but was able to get them to pair. This is what he did -
    1. Ran the BT set up.
    2. When he made it to the enter passkey and typed in the PK but it didn't work, he would hit the continue button, turn the keyboard off/on super fast and retype in the PK.
After a few times, it worked. He also suggested pulling the batteries out and placing them back in in the middle of the process. He doesn't know why this works other then saying "it's finicky".
Just one other note. He got my mouse to connect with no problem. I couldn't at home. I'm writing this at work and will try this solution tonight and let everyone know if it works for me.
    Hope this helps

  • Iphone 3G support for A2DP and AVRCP

Hi guys, I recently got a Jabra bt3030 bluetooth stereo dongle to listen to my music wirelessly from my Iphone 3G. Only wish it was as simple as I hoped it would be. After pairing the two via bluetooth and playing a song, I realised that the next/previous buttons on my bluetooth unit do not work. Nor does the volume control on the iphone itself! As a result, the playback signal is at full blast-causing buzzing in my earphones continously throughout the song. Are there any apps out there that fix this 'volume bar' issue? If not, I do hope that Apple will fix this problem with their next update-3.2. I'm quite disappointed as I have tried playing music on other bluetooth devices, and the music is flawless! If they do fix this, iphone will be, in my opinion, perfect...

I tried pairing the jabra unit on a Blackberry Bold and there was no distortion or buzzing. I also tried using my Sennheiser headphones with the Jabra unit instead of the stock headphones provided but that didnt change anything. Nope, no boosting of the volume when I imported the music into itunes. The Jabra BT3030's track record is excellent.
I have tested the Iphone and bluetooth unit everywhere. Brought it for several walks in parks and even placed the unit on top of the iphone with the phone face down (hoping to get it the closest i can to the Bluetooth radio chip and there was still the buzzing present.
I guess I have to wait for either an app that solves this issue or a permanent fix from Apple. I'm hoping to my wits end for the latter.

  • Stereo Bluetooth - no support for controls and other issues

I have tried 2 stereo headsets now and both have the same issue. No controls other than Vol +/- are supported. Pause/Play doesn't work and >| and |< don't work. It's pretty clear that the 3.0 software doesn't support these functions.
One Headset is the new Sony BT100CX. The other is Insignia.
Are others getting the same results?
I also get some bizarre results with the Stereo Headset, like no audio in one direction on a phone call. Then when I switched to iPhone from Bluetooth and hung up, the call actually stayed open! Another time I connected to the Sony BT and got constant static.
I spent a long time talking to a nice but not very knowledgeable gentleman at Apple Support who consulted an "specialist." The specialist did not seem to know whether these controls are supported or not. It is bizarre that Apple is paying so little attention to bluetooth. Having waited years for decent bluetooth support, you would would think they would want to get it right when they finally put it in, but they leave out VERY valuable features. And they don't even seem to know that they left out these features. A simple pause in the iPhone in Ipod mode is a PITA. With the Bluetooth stereo profile it should be easy.

Thanks. That page says the 3G supports the AVRCP profile, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetoothprofile#Audio.2FVideo_Remote_Control_Profile.28AVRCP.29. Version 1.0 of the profile includes pause/play etc. It is clear that although they claim support, it does not work.
Are others not having this issue?

  • Nokia 5800 and AVRCP issues.

    Hi ,
First of all I just regret having 5800 in the first place, I really pity nokia , they have lost all the respect I ever had for them.
Starting with the problem I bought a Jabra BT3030 few days back to use it along with my nokia 5800, Nokia 5800 does support AVRCP profile ( atleast they have mentioned it on their website http://www.nokia.co.in/find-products/products/nokia-5800-xpressmusic/specifications ) , 5800 ( Rev : 20.0.012 ) just fails to understand the remote play / pause / forward and backward tracks commands. Which I found to be working perfectly with Nokia E51/E71 and to my horror even the old N73 connects seamlessly.
I have tried with two of 5800 handsets ( even both having the same colour :-) ) and no wonder they had the same problem , I am not sure of the firmware revision of the other handset , but it wont be greater than 20.0.012 for sure.
    I had mailed this to nokia support regarding the problem and following was their reply;
"This e-mail is with regard to functionality of headset Nokia 5800. We regret the inconvenience caused. We would like to inform you that Nokia does not recommend the usage of non Nokia enhancement with Nokia product as it might hamper the optimal performance of the phone."
What a pity I must say, the people replying dont even understand the meaning of bluetooth standard's which have been written for AVRCP.
Please advice if anyone elseis also facing the same problem and how should I tackle this.
    Thanks and regards,
    Mahendra

  • No A2DP support for Nokia N80!

I just wonder why Nokia can't add support for A2DP in the new firmware for Nokia N80ie cellphone. =(
I just uppdatet my phone in hope of getting somewhere, but it was pointless.
It would be pretty nice if i could use my N80 as a real media centre with my Jabra BT 620s bluetooth headset but no way.
I am just intrested why not, i have read som discussions in this forum and other N phones did get their uppdates with A2DP support . Or am i wrong. Am i doing somethig wrong and cant get this to work?

A2DP and AVRCP does not require additional hardware for bluetooth 1.2 and above. It is based purely on software simulation.
Nokia can support A2DP in nokia n80. but battery could be an issue. Initial prototype of N80 had bluetooth 2 but then it was downgraded to 1.2 !!!

  • Bluetooth a2dp/avrcp

Ever since a week after the first Iphones were released (when I bought my first one), I've been waiting for Iphone to support bluetooth a2dp/avrcp.
I bought a 3G-S yesterday. I have 3 different a2dp/avrcp products I've paired it with: my Sony car stereo, a Motorola MOTOROKR S9 and a 3rd device (I forget the make/model). All three seem to play the music via a2dp fine. But I cannot get skip-to-next-track and skip-to-beginning-of-track ( |<< and >>| )to work on any of them. Play/pause works on the 2nd and 3rd device, but not on the car stereo. On the car stereo when I hit pause I hear a split-second pause and then it continues playing.
So my question is, does the Iphone 3G-S not support the avrcp protocol or is it buggy?

The iPhone 3GS' Bluetooth profile does not support forward and back, only pause and play via stereo Bluetooth. I had this issue as well, and had to dig around the apple site to find out the supported profiles. My car stereo has the capability to transfer the phonebook contacts to the stereo so you can see a name rather than a phone number; however since the iphone's profile does not support file transfer or sharing I cannot use this feature on my stereo. I hope Apple updates this soon as well as the forward/rewind Bluetooth functionality so I can keep my phone secured in my purse without having to take it out to change the song or see who is calling me while driving.
    Go to this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647
it lists the supported profiles. Pay close attention to the * toward the bottom. It states only pause and play are supported.

  • AVRCP version in os 10.3?

    Hi
I am a little confused on what version of AVRCP is supported in os 10.3,
and why did os 10.1 support AVRCP 1.6 and then go back to 1.5.
That does not make any sense or what?
    Futhermore on Bluetooth.org
you can see that the host system decleration for 10.2 only supports AVRCP 1.3.
    BlackBerry 10 OS Version
    10.0
    10.1
    10.2
    10.3
    AVRCP (CT/TG)
    1.5
    1.6
    1.5
Can anybody please clerify this? ;-)

As 10.3 is an unreleased OS at this point, no one from BlackBerry will comment, and being that this forum is community, user-to-user forum, any speculation will only come from other users same as yourself.
