BT Box Sets and BT Film - what's on?

Hi,
I used to subscribe to BT Vision, and am now considering BT TV.
The wife is quite interested to know what she will be able to watch from BT Box Sets and Film, but I'm unable to find out! The BT TV website has this to say if you click the link "explore Film and TV Box sets" -
"Film & TV Box Sets
Film and TV on demand. Unlimited access to US and UK box sets and a large range of films. Watch dramas, comedies, documentaries and cinematic modern greats whenever you want."
Not exactly enlightening then! So I thought I'd ask here, as you good people are users of the service... What's on Box Sets and Film? I'm thinking the answer may be 'not much' since it's impossible to track down the info at www.bt.com !
Thanks in advance for any help :-)

I have the £5 per month subscription for 12 months with my YouView box, but haven't signed up to pay for extra content as I don't want to pay more and I don't have Infinity anyway, only ADSL,
Note - when I click on these titles, I get two messages.
a) I need to go to bt.com to add the title to my subscription
b) Rent SD £1.1O   per episode
I don't know how miuch it costs for the extra channel subscription.
Also - licences expire at intervals so you by the time you get your YouView box, if you buy one, some of these titles might no longer be available......

  • TV Box Sets & Movies Bolt On

Hello Everyone, I have viewed on here for a long time but thought I would join as I noticed the Bolt On for the TV Box Sets & Movies has been removed and I had it confirmed on live chat that it is no longer available. I am guessing it will be discontinued for existing customers at some point?
I know Netflix is becoming available fairly soon (but we do know that can mean anything with Youview) but I have to say I will be waiting and seeing what happens next before renewing my broadband and TV contracts especially with EE TV, Amazon TV Box etc coming onto the market. I have been a big fan of BT Vision and had it for several years now but it seems to have lost direction unless you mainly want sports content.

So BT brought in Mrs Bushell in July in there words
She will be responsible for developing the BT TV platform and the BT Sport channels as well as for their financial performance. She will also oversee the development and acquisition of content at BT TV including premium rights.
BT TV has a customer base of more than 950,000 homes which can access more than 150 channels ranging from premium sport to the most popular pay TV channels, as well as a huge library of on demand content via a BT set top box
And since then all that has happened is that the box sets and films have been removed and no quality content (including sports) have been added. Yes we know Netflix is about to get on board but seeing as they are getting a kicking for not meeting there forecasted subscription numbers that is hardly a big ask and it is available on so many other formats (I will still watch it through my TV app because it recognises my UHD TV and gives me the higher quality) it isn't really a huge draw...

  • Mac Box Set necessary to upgrade Tiger?

I have a MacBook Pro running on Tiger 10.4.11. My system won't allow basic updates (Safari, iTunes, Firefox, etc) until I
upgrade the system. I wasn't aware of this before. Now I'm behind 3 upgrades, making things tougher(?) I guess the route
to go is to buy the Mac Box Set(?) But Apple doesn't sell it anymore so if I buy it from Amazon, etc. I am assuming I need a
New, unused version - otherwise my computer will see it being "licensed" to another computer? Also, before I do that I
would like to give my computer a fresh start. Once I backup files and docs I'm wondering if it would help to Reinstall the
Tiger disc to restore it to original settings? Would that clean off any unknown/unwanted apps and such and create a better
base before installing the upgrade? Does that make sense? And third, it sounds too good to be true, to install a disc and
Voila! the system is upgraded. Is it that simple or what issues could there be? Thanks for any help!
P.S. My system meets the upgrade requirements and has plenty of space.

It looks like Snow Leopard is still available at least in the Apple online store.  You can get the box set and do the upgrade from that.  What you should do is a complete backup to an external drive, using, say, SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner, or even the Restore option in Disk Utility (see Disk Utility help for details) to create a clone of your HD.
Then just do the upgrade from the install disks, then sort out any problems as they occur, knowing that you have the cloned backup that can get you back to ground zero if you need it.

  • Video not working in Beatles Box Set

I just purchased The Beatles Box Set and the video "Live at the Washington Coliseum, 1964" unexpectedly quits playing after about 5 minutes in and will not resume from that point on. Anyone else have this issue?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Nokia camera app.

  • Setting for importing Beatles Mono Box Set to iTunes

I just bought the Beatles' Mono Box Set and imported it to iTunes. Because I have tons of room left on both my iPod and Mac, I did something I never do...imported them using the AIFF encoder. (I left the setting on Automatic.) Now, when I look at the info for the files, they show up as Stereo. I don't have a of technical know-how and I'm assuming that this simply means that the songs will play in two channels. (I know that if the original masters are mono they can't actually "play in stereo".) But my question is...would there have been any advantage to my setting the encoder to Custom and the Channels to Mono instead of Stereo? Thanks.

would there have been any advantage to my setting the encoder to Custom and the Channels to Mono instead of Stereo?
With your AIFF settting set to Mono instead of Stereo, the resulting file size would be half the size. Apart from that, there would be no difference.

  • Upgrading iLife - blank disc in box set

UGH!!!  I have been so careful to do all my research as to not encounter a problem I couldn't handle with my upgrade from tiger to snow leopard.  Bought the box set and now the iLife disc is coming up as "blank disc has been inserted"  any chance there's something I'm doing wrong and I don't actually have to return it for a replacement?????
    Argh!

If you put any OTHER DVD in the drive - does your mini see that?
I ask, because many older CD/DVD drives start to fail by not seeing DVDs....

  • Fixing up my Box Sets

I've got a whole Mass of Box Sets... and I'd like to put them into my iTunes...
However a few discs in I've noticed that my iTunes is like 4-teers deep of the same
    album artwork...
maybe because I'm still new, or I don't get this whole thing... but I was undering if
iTunes has a feature that allows you to orginize your box sets for example:
    album: box set - title
              box set - vol. title
box set - vol. title (2)
    etc..
but you click on one image and that then opens up the box set and you could see all the vols. and thier titles and songs etc.
am I dreaming? or is this a real thing?

The new software does boot and then complains about being offline but just pressing exit on the remote removes the message and returns you to freeview.
no trees were harmed in the sending of this message but millions of electrons were terribly inconvenienced

  • Which Mac Box Set ?

    Hi
I want to upgrade from Tiger (10.4.11) to Snow Leopard.
I understand that I must purchase the Mac Box Set. I want to upgrade one imac which has four user accounts on the one imac.
Do I need to purchase the Box Set for one user or the Box Set for 5 users which appears to offer the ability to load the software on 5 workstations (which i don't want).
    You advice please.

I want to upgrade from Tiger (10.4.11) to Snow Leopard.
I understand that I must purchase the Mac Box Set.
No, that is not necessary. It has been much-discussed here, but there's no difference in the license between the single-user box set and the $29 single-user copy of SL. It's exactly the same OS with exactly the same terms of use. The box set is recommended as "the best way" to upgrade, according to the Apple Store, because it will update old copies of iLife and iWork that may not be very SL-savvy.
I want to upgrade one imac which has four user accounts on the one imac.
The number of user accounts is not controlled by the license. You can have one user or fifteen, for all Apple cares. It would be more accurate to call the "single-user" copy of SL the "single-machine" copy. The license controls how many different machines you can run it on. The 5-user box allows you to run on 5 machines.

  • Beatles Box Set Organization

    Hello All,
I've recently purchased the Beatles Box Set (not from iTunes) and am wondering if there is a way to organize them in a single album, titled "Beatles Box Set" and containing the albums.
In short, is there a way to place albums inside of other "albums"?
Sorry if I'm missing something really obvious, new to iTunes/Mac.

You could, but I wouldn't recommend it... A playlist for the whole box set might be a better move. That way you can still navigate the individual albums if you want to.

  • Mac Box Set for iLife '09 and iWork '09 - what does it mean for me?

Apple recently offered the Mac Box Set on their online Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB997
It comes both in family and single user license.
If you recently bought a new Mac on or after January 6, 2009, and it lacked iLife '09 after January 6, 2009, Apple offered an up to date program for iLife:
    http://www.apple.com/ilife/uptodate/
    Which says:
The program ends on March 28, 2009. Your order must be postmarked or faxed by April 3, 2009, and received by April 10, 2009.
Assuming it is not extended, I won't ask this tip to be updated.
Since the Mac Box Set includes iLife '09 and iWork '09, check the system requirements below to see if your Mac is able to use that update:
    http://www.apple.com/ilife/systemrequirements.html
    http://www.apple.com/iwork/systemrequirements.html
Mac OS X 10.5.6 will run on any PowerPC or Intel Mac that is 867 Mhz or faster with built-in processor (not including the 800 Mhz dual processor Macs or slower), with 512 MB of RAM, and 9 GB of free disk space. Realistically that has been found to be 9 GB+ 15% free of disk space by end users.
    1. If you bought your Mac on or after January 6, getting the iLife up to date, and iWork '09 installer may be the most you'll need to do if your Mac didn't come bundled with iLife '09.
    2. If you bought a new Mac post December 15, 2008 but pre-January 6, buying iLife and iWork separtely is probably the best deal.
    3. If you bought your Mac post October 26, 2007, but pre-December 15, 2008, the Mac Box set will work with your machine, but may not be necessary unless you lack the ability to contact AppleCare, and lack the ability to get the original discs that came with your Mac, and have no other way to install 10.5. Getting a single user license is good if all you have is one Mac that meets those qualifications, and a family pack if you have 5 Macs in the same household that meet those requirements.
    4. Macs purchased prior to October 26, 2007, get the best deal out of the Mac Box Set if they meet the iLife, iWork, and Leopard requirements. Getting a single user license is good if all you have is one Mac that meets those qualifications, and a family pack if you have 5 Macs in the same household that meet those requirements.

Sorry about that, but at this time, this tip is outdated. Remove?

  • Runs Tiger and has Mac Box Set. Confused?

    Hi all!
I've have just got a copy of Mac Box Set as I want Snow Leopard and the new iLife and all that jazz! I have a MacBook that is running Tiger 10.4.11 at the minute. I'm not the most technical person in the world so can I just put the Snow Leopard DVD in and just install it? I wasn't too sure!
Any help or advice would be great.
    Cheers
    Righini

I assume you mean install SL without updating iLife and iWork? If so, then Yes.
I'm not sure what versions of iLife and iWork still function under Snow Leopard, so you may or may not run into a problem there.
[This site|http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/start] has compatibility info for iLife apps. They are listed under Apple, not iXXX.

The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required.
If you cannot get this information from the seller
Removing a device from a previous owner’s account
You need to return the Device for a refund, as you will not be able to re-activate it.
