BT business hub 2700hgv and 2701hgv

Is there much of a difference between these hubs? And will they work with visions?

The Business hub has it's issues (compared to non BT routers), for me the current one being that you cannot reboot it via routerstats (ie a url) but all in all these are fairlyl minor. Not being able to save and restore the settings is probably the worst one.
On long lines it is a commonly accepted preference for sure. On mine it does not seem to make much of a difference except in one respect. All the previosu routers I have tried have showed on frequent occassions a minute by minute flucuation in noise margin (and also periods of no change) but the business hub does not show any of these at all generally so either it is hiding them which i doubt of it has some trick within it that is not on some other routers (perhaps inpluse noise impedence but that is a guess).
The Noise margin over the day varies the same as it always did (but is clearer to see now) so that is no improvement over my old routers but that would be as expected pretty much since they were also good on long lines.
What I don't know is how well the business hub can hold a low noise margin, my previous preferred router a WAG354G could normally hold it down to 0 and on occassion where it read -1 but my target margin was increased from 6 to 9 before I switched routers so the hub rarely sees 2 (and then only briefly) and at worst is seeing 3 or 4 overnight so I have no idea if it would hold to the same degree as the other routers would (however all routers would drop if the error count shot up at the same time to a high enough rate).
When the 2701 came out I believe that there were some statements to it not being as good on long lines as the 2700 but these I suspect were not the results of a rigorous test.

  • Improvements using a BT Business Hub 2700HGV

    Hello fora!
I have just got my hands on a BT Business Hub 2700HGV which I am trying at the moment.. Safe to say when compared with my Home Hub v2 its a lot better! My line was sync'ing at 4mb on the home hub, but is now managing 5.5mb!!!
Has anyone ever noticed anything like this happening? My line is perfectly stable on the Business Hub and have had no dropouts.. On the Homehub I used to have a couple of dropouts a week.
Is this a sign of a dodgy home hub? or are the Business Hubs a lot better at maintaining a connection across a long(ish) line?

In my experience, the 2700HGV is the best modem/router for hanging on to a long or noisy line and is also best at squeezing the maximum performance out of a good line. I see a similar big improvement on my line versus a HomeHub2.
The slight downside is that you cannot use Hubphones with a 2700HGV as it does not have that capability.
To use BB Talk, you need to hook an ordinary wired or wireless phone into the phone port  on the 2700HGV using the supplied phone adaptor and then set up the BB Talk. You can "break out" onto the normal voice line by dialling 5 on the phone connected to the 2700HGV, but, AFAIK, you cannot get normal voice line calls to ring on the phone connected to the 2700HGV like you can with the HomeHub2
    WARNING TO OTHERS:
If you buy a 2700HGV off of ebay or elsewhere, make absolutely sure it is NOT one that has been "cracked" for use on non-BT services as it will almost ceratinly not work on BT!

  • Business Hub 3 or Home Hub 3 ?

I am on BT Business broadband (at home) and currently have  a Business Hub 2 and wish to upgrade to a Business Hub 3 (as am advised it will provide me with a better range around the house).  Am on ADSL.
I have been offered (on ebay) a Home Hub 3 - which looks very similar to the Business Hub 3.  Is there a difference ?   Help please

  • BT Business Hub 2701HGV

Recently switched to BT Broadband Unlimited following a home move. Previously I was using a BT Business Hub 2701HGV quite successfully on a non BT ISP. Does anyone know if I can use the Business Hub with Broadband Unlimited instead of the supplied Home Hub 4 without too much hassle please?
    Thanks

  • Business Hub reporting inaccurate speeds.

    Hi guys,
So as some of you may already know from my numerous broadband issues, I have a 2700HGV Business Hub. Now I like to squeeze every last kB out of my broadband as I'm pretty desperate. My router is telling me that I have a rate of 944kbps which would actually be quite a nice speed for my line, though I have seen it at 1.2+ meg before. The problem is, this is not the actual speed I'm getting. I'm only getting 78-80kBps which is about 624-640 kbps. Obviously this is quite a substantial difference. What's going on, is there any way to get the displayed speed? Oh and it's not a faulty router, all 3 of my 2700HGVs have done this.
    Regards,
    Mike

Yes I'm on a long line, and the router is already plugged into the test socket (with a filter on obviously). Here are the stats.

  • Blackberry z10 - no messages in business hub

    Hello Community,
I just received my blackberry Z10 phone and I have to say it is very very nice to use.
It´s working threw our company server, and I use the company e-mail on it.
The only big issue I have is that if I´m in the business hub, I do not receive any text messages. I don´t even get a notification that I received a new text message.
This is a big problem because I have to switch to private hub everytime I want to check my text messages, so I cannot react to them. And if I am in private hub I receive the notification and I can check my text messages without any problems, but I dont have my company e-mails on it.
Also if I´m in the business Hub and click on the Text message sign it directs me to my e-mails and not to any text message conversations as it does in the private hub.
Please can somebody help me? Because if I cannot solve this issue it is hard to use this phone because I cannot react either to e-mails or to text messages, so it´s very bad.
Thank you very much and send you greetings from Austria,
    Alexander

  • BT Business Hub connect to BT Home Hub2

    Hi please help,
I have recently been given a BT Business Hub and want to bridge it with our existing BT Home Hub 2 to allow us to have wireless access throughout the house. Does anyone know how we can go about this?

There are some option on this menu.

You may be better using the business hub as the main router, and use the HH2 as an additional access point.

  • Using Netgear Access Point with Business Hub

    Dear all,
I am trying to set up a wireless network and am using a BT Business Hub 3.0 as the router + wireless transmitter in one area and a Netgear WG602 v.4 Access Point in another area of my home.
The Business Hub and the Netgear are connected via wire (Ethernet cable), with the Netgears purpose being to boost/relay a wireless connection to an area of my home which the Business Hub wireless signal cannot reach.
I am however having trouble connecting the two devices. Ideally I would like the Netgear to be configured so that computers connected to the Business Hub seamlessly connect to the Netgear when its signal strength is strongest without the need to enter a separate wireless key.
Hopefully that is clear however if anyone needs anything clarifying please don't hesitate to ask.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    andicd

    Thanks,
But the two units arn't plug and play are they? How do I go about paring the two units? I have accessed the Netgears IP settings, do these need to be changed in order to make it compatible to my network?
    I am following this guide - http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/WG602v4_IG_04June07.pdf
I am currently at 2b however am unsure what these settings for my network should be.

  • Using a BT Business Hub on a home line.

In total desperation at being let down again and again by BT, who have now given me a broadband speed between 83 kbps on a good day and 15 kbps on a normal day, I'm trying anything to get even close to a 'proper' broadband speed. I was advised to try a business hub as it has a more robust build quality and may improve thngs.
Consequently I bought a BT Business Hub off an eBay seller. It has arrived sealed and unused but I have no password for it - only the wireless key and the Hub password.
As I'm a long-standing BT customer (maybe not for much longer) how can I use this hub with my existing account?
Struggling with less than 50 KB/s… a quarter of what it used to be.

  • 2 Web Servers on one Business Hub?

We had a two-wire hub and we've just moved to new offices and have a new BT Business Hub 3.  We have five static IP addresses and we have two servers on the end of it. I have one server running on a static IP via port forwarding and the web site (Sharpoint 2007 on port 80 IIS Windows 2008) is available from the internet. However, I want to run the other site (Sharepoint 2010 on port 80 IIS Windows 2008) on a static IP address as well. I cannot find ANY way of making port forwarding send traffic bound for port 80 to the correct server based on the incoming static IP address; I can see how to forward all traffic destined for port 80 to ONE server but not to have two servers on fixed IP on port 80 only get their own connections.  Does this help?
Server A : Sharepoint 2007 - Website (machine has two network cards, one public/one private) - delivering site over internet no problem.
Server B: Sharepoint 2010 - Website (machine has two network cards, one public/one private) - cannot see how to send traffic bound for port 80 to this machine. If I change IIS port to 8080 then it works fine - but I want / need to use port 80.
We had an old Voyager which could do this sort of stuff but had no wireless. They sent us a 2-wire hub but were told it can't do this. Then I was told the business hub 3 would do it "no problems" - some help would be appreciated before I throw my toys out of the pram at BT....
    Thanks in anticipation!

  • I can't connect to wifi at home on business hub ? So cannot update my iPhone 5  Help!

I can't connect to wifi at home on business hub ? So cannot update my iPhone 5  Help!

wifi is wifi, and business hub means very little.. this is area for time capsule discussion.. but the standard measures apply.
    1. Set wireless name (SSID) to a name that is short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric. Eg your Business Hub call wireless BH. There is no need for names longer than that.
    2. Set wireless channel for 2.4ghz to 11 or 6 or 1. Please test in that order. In Eurozone you can add 13 or use it instead of 11. They are the only 3 non-overlapping channels.
    3. Use no security to test.. of course this is unsafe long term.. so this is to test for a few minutes only.
The only security that should be used with N wireless is WPA2 TKIP-AES .. it can be named several different things ie in Apple routers it is WPA2 personal. Use a passkey of 10-20 characters.. more if you are paranoid, mix of upper and lower case + numerics.. so pure alphanumeric.
    4. If it fails set the mode to G wireless. It is more consistent standard.
If it still fails buy an Apple router and use that as WAP.

  • Difference bw open hub destination and info spoke ???

    Hi,
what are difference b/w open hub destination and info spoke ???
    Thanks In advance.
    Regards
      Nitin

    Hi,
The open hub destination is the object that allows you to distribute data from a BI system to non-SAP data marts, analytical applications, and other applications. It ensures controlled distribution across multiple systems.
The open hub destination defines the target to which the data is transferred.
An InfoSpoke can extract data in two ways:
1.Full mode (F): the data corresponding to the selection criteria of the InfoSpoke is transferred from the data source into the respective destination.
2.Delta mode (D): records that were added since the last extraction only are transferred in this mode. This is only possible for the source objects InfoCube and DataStore object.

  • Network drive..... business hub.

I take it a network drive will work OK plugged into a business hub, eg. Compare
SEAGATE FreeAgent GoFlex Network Hard Drive - 2TB, Black
    Ethernet

If you run out, network switches are very cheap and can be situated near to where your equipment is located, which can avoid running lots of cables.

  • Business Hub rate not updating.

    Hi guys, me again!
It's been a little while so I thought I'd post a problem I've been having with my Business Hub. Effectively when I first got the business hub, the Rate would always match the Max Rate, I.e. when the line capacity changes (which can do because of the length of the line) the rate would change with it. I was happy with this as my Max rate rarely dropped below 1150kbps and so I stayed in that profile. Often it would go up to above to 1300 and the rate would follow even if it didn't mean a change in IP profile.
However, now things have changed. It seems as though the rate doesn't follow the Max Rate and it's actually causing problems. For instance, for the last 2 weeks my rate was stuck at 944kbps (which gives me a profile of 750kbps) while my rate was 1250 with 6.4db noise (which gives me a profile of 1000kbps). I checked the diagnostics and Max Rate dropped below 1150kbps only once for a very short time and it was soon up again to 1200+. What's annoying is that for the last 2 weeks I could have been on a higher IP profile but it simply wasn't updating. Then yesterday the rate went up to 1360 (still in the 1000kbps profile range), yippee I thought, but to no avail as it was down to 1050 (back down to 750 profile) again this morning, despite having a max rate of 1200. It seems as though it rarely updates the Rate if Max Rate is higher, but instantly updates it if it has a lower value.
I don't know why it's begun doing this but as you can see it shouldn't be doing this as its stopping my IP profile from rising despite my Max Rate increasing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Regards,
    Mike.

unless you are on a non adsl-max/adsl2 line then what you seem to think happens does not sound at all correct, certainly it is not how either of my lines work (both business hubs),
What happens is that you get a sync, fine, at that stage it determines the amount of data that can be send and that becomes your rate, over the length of the connection the max rate value can vary due I believe to bitloading and fluctuation normal interference on the line but this does not alter the sync rate on any of my lines EVER.
You seem to be losing sync then due to some reason and this causes you to swtch to another rate, either you have a line issue, an internal wiring issue or your target margin is set to low for the line you have (which would mean you get a really good sync during the day but at night it would tend to drop).
Now when you get a new sync and it is in the different IP profile band to the last ones(s) then two things can happen
1 - your sync means you drop a band and in which case this happens within 75 minutes, normally much quicker
2 - Your sync means you should go up a band and this should happen eventuallly.
When going up a band (unless you are on the CN21 88.2% method (which you are not by what you say) then there are two methods that would apply to you depending on your exchange.
Method 1 - 3 days. After 3 days of having a sync rate ALWAYS within the new higher band the profile should change, it does not matter despite what others saty if you have resyncs in between but every single one of them must be in the same band or greater.
Method 2 - Adaptive max. Same rules as above re syncs but the timeframe is much reduced, At the speeds you are talking about it basically works out at 24 hours if jumping 1 band and 12 hours if jumping more than 1 (allow 2 hours extra that these since the update seeems to be a scheduled task).
IN either of the above your profile can stick so if it has not updated within 3 days then you need to contact the mods on this site, posting the results of a bt speedtester and your hub stats and ask for the profile to be checked. They will be able to see the correct value on their systems and the wrong value on the speedtest and so know it is stuck or not.
Stuck profiles in my experience do occasionally get unstuck without any help but so far when this has happened it has been at 3-3.5 days only and if after that time then it never happens.
