BT Cloud Not backing up photos on Galaxy S5

Whilst the app installs and sets up fine, it will not recognise or backup the photos on the device.  I assume this may be related to the storage location being the SD card, but this should still work.  Can you advise on how this issue can be resolved. Thanks

Do files stored on the phone itself get backed up?
Check your network settings to see if you have an internet connection. By default for Android devices, BT Cloud is set to only back up over a wireless connection. This is to help prevent you incurring excessive mobile data charges, however you can change this by going to Settings and turning the "Wi-fi only" setting off.

  • Time machine did not back up photos

    When I was preparing to upgrade from Mountain Lion to Mavericks, I heeded advice and purchased an external drive and backed up my iMac with Time Machine.  I was very glad I did, because I encountered the 'There is a problem with your hard disc' message, so, I had to erase the hard drive and restore from Time Machine.
    I felt very proud that I had been, for once, wise before the event, so I did not lose any of my important data. 
    That was a month ago. 
    Today, I decided to change my desktop picture and found no photographs available.  When I opened iPhoto, it indicated that there were no libraries and prompted me to create a new one.  No worries, I thought;  the photos will all be on my external hard disc because of my prudence.  But they were not there, as you, Dear Reader, will already have guessed.
    I have looked at various Q & A discussions (here and elsewhere) and it seems at best that Time Machine is idisyncratic - and there are indications that it will not back up photos.  This is despite the statement on the Apple website that says: 'Time Machine automatically backs up your entire Mac, including system files, applications, accounts, preferences, email messages, music, photos, movies, and documents.' 
    So, is there a solution to this?  Am I missing something important?  Or am I justified to feel outraged that I was fooled into thinking that a back-up would save my data for me to retrieve in the event of a crash, or the need to erase the hard disc?  Is it simply a way of making people buy into iLife?

    If it's true that the iPhoto library wasn't backed up, then it must have been excluded from your backups for some reason. Check the exclusion settings in the Time Machine preference pane. Even if you find nothing there, it's still possible for files to be excluded for other reasons, but that won't help you recover the lost data.
    You can use Spotlight to search your backups:

    Just figure out the reason to cause lost of my photos after restore from Time Machine Backup:

    Here was how I tested the problem, I don't know why TM stop doing backup folder
    1) Import some new pictures from camera to iphoto library --> FINE , I can view the new imports in iphoto and also I can find the copies of imported files under iphoto Library/Originals (by Show package content)
    2) I closed iphoto and I manually ask TM to backup.
    3) After TM is done, I go to backup in TM, all newly imported photos are missing in the
    TM backup which I just created 5 min ago.!!
    No matter what, Apple need to fix this bug!!! How many people lost their precious data
    because iphoto & TM???? I will go back to 3rd party software to manually import photos
    and manage photos. You never know what's next bug and the result is very serious.
    I knew someone lost the whole year photos. !!! Be cautious!!!!!!
    AND I think somehow it is bug in the iphoto............

    I just lost 6 months of photos! Same problem. Not sure why Time Machine did not back them up. I couldnt even get my iphoto '09 disk to install. Had to buy the new version because the system crashed.
    Any thoughts on how to find the 6 months of photos that are missing? Only thing I can think of is that iphoto started saving the new photos in a new library. Is that possible? If so where would I find it in my TM back ups?
    I really dislike Apple right now... I thought they never crashed.

    I have about 160 contacts on my phone but the verizon cloud only backs up 10 of them.  I'm sure the rest are other accounts or google backed up but i need them in Verizon so i can use the web based messaging app.  Is there any way to get those other contacts into the verizon cloud?

    It definitely sounds strange that you haven't been able to get all of your 160 contacts backed up. When you log into your My Verizon account, are you able to view the contacts there? Please let me know, thanks.

  • BT Cloud - Not backing up new folder

    Hi,
    I have 2 folders on my PC which have been added to the BT CLoud list of folders for automatic backup.
    These folders contain other folders and ulitmately some photos.
    Yesterday I added a new folder also containing photos to one of the existing sub folders, but it does not appear in the BT Cloud application, it is as if it has not been backed up.
    Does anyone have a clue as to why this is happening (or not in my case)?

  • Verizon cloud not backing up correctly

    Recently downloaded Verizon cloud to use with my new iPhone 6.  I set it to backup my photos, videos and contacts. Photos and videos were backed up, but I get the message "it looks like
    there are no contacts on your device," which obviously isn't true.  Any suggestions?

    With an iphone, given that Verizon cloud seems to be kind of acting up on you anyway, I would suggest backing up instead to iCloud or iTunes. iCloud can be done without a computer, but you only get 5GB free storage. If you have a PC or a Mac, I would recommend using the iTunes program instead, as there is no limit on backup size, and your backup is stored locally on your hard drive, instead of on a remote apple server.

  • TS3992 IOS 8 & cloud not backing up

    Managed to restore all my things from iCloud onto my new iPhone 6 but now when I try back my iPhone 6 to the cloud it can't because each time you select back up it boots me off the wifi....restarted phone and router and the same occurs. Any ideas?

    On ios vcloud while on WiFi will only backup contacts pics and videos. I cloud does more but you may need iTunes for your music

    Iphone 6 will not back up photos from iCloud. I am running iOS8, I know the photos exist in iCloud from the storage size.
    I have tried resetting and following the on line instructions.
    It backs up my contacts. A clue might be that it downloads only a couple of phots I took on this device. I made sure to back up from my previous device before setting up the new phone.
    Have not tried iTunes yet!

    So, your iCloud has 3.3 GB of available storage left.
    This device has never backed up to iCloud.
    The next (or first) backup of this device will require 13.5 GB.
    Therefore, if you want to backup this device to iCloud, you need to purchase more iCloud storage, or you need to remove data from the device, or choose some data to not be backed up.
    To upgrade from the free 5GB to 20 GB is $0.99 per month.
    200 GB is $3.99 per month.
    Choose one of those options under ettings > iCloud > Storage > Buy More Storage.

    Try a "full reset" of Time Machine, per #A4 in [Time Machine - Troubleshooting|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/Troubleshooting.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum).
    If that doesn't help, repair your backups, per #A5 there.

    Had asked for help with iCloud 3 weeks ago.  Cloud has my old email and I no longer know the password, wont't let me sign in with new email.  When I talked with apple cust service they assured me that everything associated with apple would change over.  NO it did not! Cannot find how to get cloud to change this. My Iphone says I have not backed up in 9 weeks because of iCloud.  Can anyone help me or give me some advise please

    Same thing happened to me. My son's iPod touch suddenly started indicating that my "username or PW had changed" or was "incorrect" so I paid Apple $30 to find out that all that was required was updating the software by plugging his iPod into my computer & syncing with iTunes. My problem was then solved.

  • My photos are not backed up on to my i cloud.  I paid for extra storage to allow my phone to back itself up.  What's occurring??

    I had my phone stolen, and when I went to my iCloud account, it had not backed up anything apart form my contacts and a few other useless bits and pieces.
    My phone used to display a message saying something like, cannot back up i phone, not enough storage.  I paid for my storage and my phone backed itself up.  Why can I not see it on my iCloud

    What is backed up does not show when you look at your iCloud account. The backup is for restoring purposes only. The backup should contain the complete content of the Camera Roll on your iPhone.

  • My iPhone 4 was run over at work worked fine  for 5 days then got really hot and shut down. I can not get it to power back up. I have photos that were not backed up is there anyway that I can retrieve my photos from the phone?

    MY iPhone 4 was run over at work by a forklift the screen was badly cracked but other than that worked fine for 6 days. Then it got really hot while charging and shut down and will not  power back up. I have photos on this phone that we're not backed up to I cloud is there any way to retrieve my photos from this phone?

    No. You probably should have backed it up while it was working during those 6 days...

  • HT201317 Using icloud to back up photos and shared photostream, why not updating?

    I've been manually backing up my camera roll on my windows 7 pc the old fashioned way (copying files through windows explorer) for some time, and have my pc as a whole backed up on a cloud product.
    I have this week however learned about icloud and the ability to back up the shared streams I'm subscribed to. I therefore installed icloud control panel and watched my family's streams appear in My Pictures.
    However, one shared stream did not transfer completely - there are 18 of my mum's pictures missing - and My Photo Stream has only transferred 70.
    Know there's a 30 day limit so given that is the first backup, it may not back up all 1000 as the earlier ones are older than 30 days, but the selection making up to 70 aren't the most recent as showing on my iPhone, so its no that. I took a whole lot together last weekend, one is on there but not the rest (for example).
    I can back up manually to get a complete set of my own photos but think I must be doing something wrong if it's missing some.
    I did go out after backing up first time, did I interrupt it , which is why there are only 70?  How do I restart it? - given that it didn't finish first backup.
    Also, I got home tonight, and the ones I've taken today have not transferred over.
    Is there something I'm supposed to do to trigger a backup? ( both to finish first back up, and to backup new ones too)
    Given that I'm using icloud more as a way of getting my photos and shared streams onto my pc, rather than backing up in icloud (as I have my own cloud too), what settings should I have on my iPhone, and what settings on iTunes?
    At the moment on iPhone In settings/icloud/storage & backup, I have icloud backup turned on.
    In iTunes, on the summary page for my iPhone (when plugged in) under Backups, I have 'iCloud' option ticked. Rather than 'this computer', when I change to 'this computer', the icloud setting on my iPhone gets turned to 'off'. I did hit the 'back up now' under 'manually back up and restore' in case that triggered it, and its showing a back up date and time of last night when I did this - but My Photo Stream is still at 70 - not complete transfer, or new ones - and mum's 18 still missing.
    Same page in iTunes, under 'Option' I have both 'sync over wifi' and 'manually manage music and videos' checked.
    I'm sure I'm overlooking something simple, any ideas?

    Right, they're slowly reappearing. And My Photo Stream is updating this time too.
    So, is it signing in and out that did this? Is this what's supposed to happen?
    I should have said, I was looking for a way to back shared streams as we all have each others streams on our iOS devices and its filling up our storage, so we want to start deleting from the beginning, but not til we've backed up.
    However, if icloud works by constantly removing and rebacking up from what is on the device then, then this isn't the right solution for us, as it would remove the complete stream and back up a smaller stream after we've started deleting...
    Did i do something wrong here, was this supposed to happen?
    What should I have done?
    How do I stop this happening again?? I'm clearly not using icloud control properly!

    Only if you made a backup of the old iPhone which includes the photos you had stored in Camera Roll (if the photo you want to restore is there) or if the photo was stored in Photo Stream. In both of the cases, you will be able to get back the photo, but note that Photo Stream deletes photos 30 days after adding them

    What messages? What app? The backup includes Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS),
    What photos? How did the photos get on the iPod
    The backup only includes photos in the iPod's camera roll album.
