Bt digital vault - cant set up

I keep getting this message every time I try to set up account
BT Digital Vault Maintenance
The BT Digital Vault service you are trying to access is currently undergoing
maintenance work.

If a file is saved, it only uploads any changes to the file, not the whole file. I have mine setup to check every 20 minutes and even with files of 20Mb, that change frequently, it only takes a few seconds to upload any changes.
The idea behind auto backup is that you always have an up to date copy of a file on the DV server. If you are only going to want updates every seven days, then you may as well simply use the web interface, and do it manually.
DV runs as a service, so to stop it, you would have to go into computer management, services, and stop the service.
Its startup is automatic, but you could set it to manual I suppose.
You could start and stop the service using a command line
net stop <service name>
net start <service name>

Help! Digital vault set up problem

Signed up for the digital vault yesterday and was warned that the first download would take some time - 6 hours later it still hadn't finished - I stayed patient as wasn't sure what to do. It finally finished but it doesn't appear to have been successful and I have no clue as to what to do now. HELP!

Interesting your remark, - I would not know that the existing file of the previous set up, is interfering in the new installation.
Again, I'm very pleased having received that simple advise, but the key procedure for further downloads!

Digital Vault: can you use Filechute with digital ...

I'm hoping to use Filechute (a Mac OS program) with my BT Digital Vault allowance. (I have Filechute working fine with Dropbox.)
Filechute can be configured with either an FTP or a WebDAV enabled server
The set up needs:
1 Host Name
2 my username and password - I have these ok!
3 upload URL
4 download URL
Has someone got the settings, or can you suggest what they may be?

BT Digital Vault not available

The BT Digital Vault has not been available for three days now and BT Auto Backup just shows a red symbol. When I telephoned the helpline I was told there was a problem and no known fix time. Are we due a refund?

I have been messing with this... and can't get it to work. Is anyone using this Digital Vault Auto Backup tool?
Basically, Auto Backup is not backing up changed files. It appears to be detecting the change (according to the logs) and indeed backing up the file (according to the logs), but the file in the digital vault is not being updated/overwritten! The digital vault doesn't maintain versions does it?!
If I later choose to restore a file that I have since changed, the file that is restored is the old one (the one initially backed up) - before the changes! Not good!
I have tried changing the Auto Backup settings - but it makes no difference. I now have it set on: (Which I think is the default)
BT Auto Backup priority: High
Network utilization: Highest priority
Time interval: 2 minutes

BT Digital Vault security concerns

Hello all,
I have copyrighted video in my Digital Vault but I'm concerned about piracy. I have done some tests and it seems that any prior contacts are able to copy the video link and then stream it directly from the vault, even after they have been removed as contacts and the folder is set to private. This seems like a serious security breach to me.
Is there anyway around this issue? I want to make use of BT Digital Vault but it seems to be very unsecure.

Help upgrade to Digital Vault Plus

I have recently left bt broadband and had an email notifying me that my digital vault would be cancelled unless i upgrade to digital vault plus. I have tried to do this but when I go to upgrade and enter my payment details it says it is undergoing maintenance. This has been going on for 5 days now and my deadline is tomorrow or my account is cancelled and I will lose all my photo's as they are from an old pc.
Please help.

I think the problem lays with Last.fm. I had the same exact problem as you. In your processes screen, end the task "lastfmhelper.exe" Last.fm still scrobbles. The tracks don't skip, although I notice there is still a bit of a lag in the first part of the song - but if you can deal with that, no skipping. I think you will have to end that task everytime you boot up your computer, or uninstall last.fm completely until they fix it; it is a bug in their software, as opposed to iTunes.

Digital Vault / Auto Backup - How to upload a dire...

Hi there,
Can you use auto backup to backup a directory structure that is not held within one of the options under 'we suggest'?
I want to backup a directory that has 2 layers of sub directories that is on another drive on my computer, I tried going via 'you pick' with everything unticked on 'we suggest' but, although I could navigate to my other drives, I could only select files and not directories which is no use to me as it would take far, far to much time to select all the files in each sub directory (over a decades worth of family photos)
I do not want to move it over to my documents or pictures folder as I want to keep it all on a seperate hard drive.
I cannot see a way to upload directories using the digital vault web uploader either otherwise I would do it manually.

Yes you can, I do it.
Forget "we suggest" and use your own selection.
Navigate to the parent folder, and simply tick the box. Everything in the parent and subdirectories will be backed up.
If you only want certain subdirectiories, then you click the "+" option, and the directory treee will be displayed.
You can then select whichever subdirectories you want.
You can backup from any "fixed" drive, but not network drives.

You should see an option to skip that step and then sign out of it when looking in Settings. Check out the article below for more information.

I cant set Appointments in calendar on new 4s. Tried turning off then on several times. Siri is not able to add appt. on the monthly view the + is not on the top right and the calender button is missing from the top left of the top bar.

Try Settings>iCloud>ON and see if the + sign reappears

Hi Ranil,
I think when you work with account segmentation you need to use the account code (query the db form SELECT * FROM OACT) and find the code for that account.

Digital vault

Twice in the last week I have tried to activate my free digital vault, both times it has got to the create a vault page and then says its unavailable due to maintainance.
Has anyone else had this problem or know whats happening.
How can I activate it?
