BT "Fixed" my connection now it's 25% slower

I'm sure I'm not the first and won't be the last to have this issue.
I had a problem with my connection where the speed dropped to around 0.3 to 0.5 Mb.
Before my issues my connection speed was around 3.2-3.3Mb.
Now my speed never goes above 2.36Mb.
Running the test on http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ it says my IP profile is 2.37Mb
Speaking to customer services is infuriating, all I get is 
"We only guarantee a speed of 1.5Mb based on your contract so you should be happy it's faster"
After speaking to a supervisor his final comment was:
They must have connected more customers to the cabinet that's why your connection has got slower.
Really?
A 25% drop in speed.
Is there anything I can do about this?

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router you may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or if HH4/5 then go to troubleshooting then logs and you are looking for 2 line together when hub last connected to internet and they will show your connection speed and noise margin or if netgear enter 192.168.0.1). Then run  btspeedtester  (MAC users may have problems). when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post the results ( do not reset the router).
are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

    It's important that you have a steady WiFi connection, ZealousEdge. What phone do you have? Is your phone unable to connect to any WiFi network? If you can, please try deleting the saved WiFi network and re-adding it.

    Hey everyone-
    Im in the same boat, started a thread . My hands free system worked fine with iOS 8 out of the box new iphone 6. Did the update this morning and i can stream music perfectly fine however i cannot make or receive calls through hands free system.
    I have not tried resetting the settings like most people indicate is working. I feel like I shouldn't have to reset anything, even less mess with settings with an update coming from apple. it should "Just Work"
    Some people who reset said it works for a few hours, other say it don't work, and I don't know what I should do.

    NOTE: I was able to replicate the issue in my wifes Hyunday Elentra 2013.
    This is how I know its not a defect with the BT in my car.

    Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.     FCP, and all software on OSX, has a few different "preference" files (the extension is .plist), which store all your user settings. Each time you resize a window, change a setting, anything, this file is re-written. Kinda easy to see how they would become corrupt every now and then.
    -Close FCP
    -Navigate to User>Library>Preferences and delete com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist
    -Navigate to User>Library>Preferences>Final Cut Pro User Data and delete Final Cut Pro 5.0 Prefs
    -Empty your trash
    Relaunch FCP and see if that worked.
    Download FCP Rescue to make this process easier in the future. When you have FCP running really smooth, open FCP Rescue and create a backup of your preference files. If it starts acting wanky, just run FCP Rescue and Restore your backup preferences. Works really slick, and it's free.
    EDIT: Or use the really simple explaination that X posted as I was typing.

    Removed. Re-synced. Still not working. Factory reset the phone, re-installed music... made a GIANT "Other" file instead of actually adding any songs.
    Factory resetting again. Any other solutions?
    EDIT: If It helps, I'm doing this all over USB connection, not trying to sync music through wifi or anything.

  • Wireless routers on only 80211b or g instead of mixed as fix to connection

    I posted before that setting an Airport Extreme base station to run only on 802.11b or only on 802.11g instead of mixed b/g fixed many connection issues on my MacBook Pro. Well, it seems it is also a fix with other routers. I just tried it on two Lynksys and Netgear wireless routers and now connection is perfect.
    Can anyone please confirm if this works for them?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

    Have old iOs 106.8. Connection to internet was extremely slow, so, stupidly, updated Firefox to current iteration. Now nearly impossible. Connections are incredibly slow or incomplete. So - tried to Reset Firefox. THAT won't work. Keep getting "This is embarrassing"message re unable to load tabs, etc. and to close open windows. So I do. The only windows are Mozilla's, btw. Keep getting same thing. Round and round and round, etc.

    I only use Image Capture, so I can't speak for other software.

    The obvious way to resolve this on a computer would be to uninstall the app, then reinstall it, however on an iOS device that would cause all the data assoicated with the app to be thrown away.
    Make sure your iTunes library has the latest updates for all your apps, then backup and restore the device. This should pull back a fresh copy of the app from your iTunes library and then give it the data from your device backup.
