Bt fon android issue

Can I first say I am new to this and this is my first post so please be bear with me.
I have an android phone which I have been using wirelessly through my home hub for sometime but since updating the bt fon app I have been unable to connect through my home hub but I have managed to do it in other hotspots.  The error message '' we are unable to identify this hotspot'' comes up even when I'm on line with my PC.
Can anyone help me with this please.
Many thanks

just need to wait until BT issue an update.  you don't need the app to connect to BTFON - it still works ok on my android phone
do you not connect to your own wifi when at home and not BTFON?

  • Bt openzone/FON connection issue

Ok so I often use this specific btopenzone wifi hotspot, used it for a couple hours every now and again for ages. Hit a problem now though my laptoop no longer connects to it. it sees it i click connect but it just keeps coming up no internet connection. Help/ This is the only wifi thing that it dont connect to.

It could be down to the hub2 (if this is being used) as there is a known issue whereby it caches ALL passing wireless devices which then jams the hub and stops the connection to Fon/Openzone - a reset of the hub is the only known cure, though BT are rolling out an update to sort this out.
The other thing is that occasionally and I don't know why, we lose the ability to connect to random hotspots. Without any changes, the ability returns after a few days. Keep trying the same hotspot or as I said earlier, try another one to see if you also can't connect to this one. What about your own hub's Fon/Openzone hotspot, can you connect to this?

  • Android Issues? Operator or Operational System Problems?

The concept of the Android operational system got many rave reviews, and many positive comments regarding the many things an android phone can achieve.  However,  as a funtionally smartphone to use in business to organize, file and utilize contacts, it falls short in the performance department.  Many of the primarly functions as a smart phone of the Droid X falls short and at this time after nearly four months and 4 droids, the solution appears far in the distance.
I am presently using my 4th Motorola Droid X, which all the 3 previous models were deemed defective by Motorola & Verizon Tech's.  I find it interesting that it appears that despite numerous telephone calls for help & assistance, that I am told by both Motorola & Verizon support that the following concerns do not show as problems with the Droid X.
Don't believe me... get out your droid now and try the following:
    1. Why when selecting either a phone number, address or email as "DEFAULT", absolutely nothing is displayed to indicate that a default was set?
SOLUTION:  Upon selecting either a phone number, address or email as DEFAULT, why not have the entire entry change color to GREEN.  (keep in mind those that might be color blind).  Green is the color that means go, first, and is most easily viewed immediately.
    2. Why when selecting a contact to edit does information appear in different order in "edit" screen that in the "contact data screen.?
SOLUTION:  Programmers you need to fix this discrepancy.  It is too confusing when trying to compare data.
    3. Why does the data also appear differently in different order when comparing information to that which is displayed on google.account?
SOLUTION:  See answer to number 2.
    4. Why when conducting searches in which many of the contacts have similar names (like "Marina") that the search will not list all of the contacts matching criteria requested in search?
SOLUTION:  Correct search critera to examine all data fields and to ensure multiple entries in each field is identified by the search feature.
NOTE: it would be nice that when search results are listed that user have the option to see requested search first rather than all other contacts that have matching criteria.  Example.  if searching for Marina,  if typing Ma...  as the letters are typed only list those matches that the MA is matching as the first two characters FIRST rather than every match that contains the letters MA.
But still problem remains that the search criteria leaves out contacts that have the exact match requested criteria.
    5.  Why have the ability  to create groups if groups will not sync  between the phone and gmail?
SOLUTION:  Programmers need to investigate and determine why when creating groups on the phone or on gmail do not sync.   If the phone is designed to be a phone to work with the google /gmail features, then perhaps all of the features should be tested... or make a disclosure prior to sale of functions that do not work.
    6. Does this Droid X, have the ability to work as designed with more than one gmail contact?  IF YES, then how is a particular gmail account linked to a contact?  Can this contact gmail link be changed or linked to more than one email without having to retype contact data?  There appears to be no method in which to select a gmail in which to link a contact?
SOLUTION:  enable feature to select which account to link a contact.   Also, enable ability to select mulitple links and/or ability to switch links.
    7. What causes differences in total number of contacts on the phone than that listed in the gmail account?  Phone constantly shows fewer contacts than the gmail account,  in my case, there are (402) missing contacts on the phone?
SOLUTION:  There should be mathatical check to ensure contacts match both phone and gmail account and an error message when the count differs.   NOTE: is there a problem not disclosed regarding an OUTLOOK CVS file not syncing with a google account data?
    8. Constantly getting message:  SORRY, The application Google Services Framework (process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.   FORCE CLOSE.   Why? What is constantly not working?
NOTE: This problem appears, often several times, then is followed by phone resetting itself.
SOLUTION:  BE PRO ACTIVE IN NOTIFYING CUSTOMERS USING EQUIPMENT OF ISSUES DEEMED NECESSARY TO BE ADDRESSED IN SOFTWARE FIX.  IN FACT, WHY NOT AN APPLICATION THAT IDENTIFYS ALL ISSUES WITH ANTICIPATED STATUS ON WHEN CORECTIONS WILL BE FORTHCOMING.

Thank you for your reply from the Droid (1) point of view.  However, the issues I have addressed are regarding the DROID X model only.  I am sure there are more issues that I have not discovered, but I am confident that these problems are NOT caused by operator error.  I look forward to any comments from those of you using the DROID X.  Let me know if you find any other problems.  OH.  Has anyone purchased the Navigational/Music Vehicle Mount by Motorola for the DROID X?  Has anyone found a "CASE" that allows you to use the Mount with the case still on the DROID X?  Motorola states that they do not make a case.  I wonder just how the prototype was developed with out an actual case to create the mount?  Sounds like possible class action material.  Build, Sell an accessory that can't support the accessory as advertised?

  • BT wifi & BT Wifi with Fon connection issue

in the last 5 days I've had  issues connecting to BT Wifi and BT Wifi with Fon. I'm connecting using an iPhone and iPad so when I use the BT Wifi app for logging in it constantly says check details (which are correct) and then it will connect but then log off and won't connect for ages. It will sometimes connect one device but not the other.
When I try connect using the browser page I get a message ' maximum number of sessions reached'.
Has anyone any idea what causes this, what it means and a possible solution?
ps I tried email BT but they don't seem to care as i've not received a reply,  thanks BT

    Hi Gioabb,
    Welcome to the forum.
Can I just check, is this problem happening with several hotspots or just the one?

  • Endemic FON/Openzone Issues: Advertising Standards...

I've posted issues with FOn/BTO a couple of times, and no-one has been able to help with a solution.
All that I get is 'Me Too' replies.
A trawl through the posts indicates that the only problems consistently 'Solved' are the ones to do with unsubscribing from FON.
This says to me that this offering from BT is not fit for purpose.
One of the reasons I switched to BT rather than another ISP was the concept of access out and about.
I am seriously thinking of complaining to the Advertising Standards Authority. What do others think?

I have no problem connecting to BTFON/OPENZONE when out and about with HTC desire.  just set phone app with username and password maining sure to use primary email and also btinternet.com address and not btopenworld

  • BT FON connection issue

Hello, I got my BT infinity installed on Thursday and it was working fine, but Saturday morning the infinity box was broken, currently a new box is being sent, but until the box is received I've been told we should use BT FON. I connected to it fine (Laptop) but my son's computer can't connect to it (web page). You connect to BT FON, then you would go on to a web browser and get directed to the page where you have to sign in using your bt email. On my son's computer he connects to BT FON with limited access, but when he goes onto a web browser it does not direct him to any page. Can anyone help?
    Thanks, Linda.

Can any one please help me to solve this problem.........
    Regards,
    Nani

    Hi,
Yes Android emulator is very problematic, and there are certain out of box emulator configurations that would not even start up on a reasonably powerful PC.
What works typically for me is to use an emulator built using SDK version 15 or 16 - for some reason, the Android SDK API level's emulators are much more problematic than before. There are some configurations (for example Nexus 7 tab) that simply hangs when trying to start it using default RAM allocation. After reducing it to 512, I can start it but then I can't start app. With older version of the emulator, if I set the RAM to say 512, generally the emulator will start and the app will also start (although very slowly).
Unfortunately this is an Android issue, and there is very little ADF Mobile can do.
In short, if possible please deploy to a device, and also please remember to deploy in release mode when you don't need to debug the app, as performance difference is very great. There are some articles on how to compile Android app in release mode. This may also help with your Android deployment. https://blogs.oracle.com/shay/entry/speed_up_adf_mobile_deployment

  • Installation: HPLIP, and remote printing from ANDROID, & iOS to a static networked HP printer

I recently installed an HP LaserJet Professional m1212nf MFP Printer on my network and gave it a static IP address.  On my main computer (also statically networked - Ubuntu 12.04) I installed the hplip services and can successfully print to it.  On the same computer I have a Dymo Labelwriter and an HP ColorLaserJet 1215 connected by USB.
I can print from my iPhone and tablet running Android's ICS to the labelmaker and the color laserjet using Airprint services, but I can't print to the m1212nf with Airprint.  If I print via the CUPS driver using Airprint I get a successsful completion of the printout, but the printer doesn't print.  Now, since the printer m1212nf is NOT connected to the CUPS print server by USB, that makes sense unless I can be told how to set up CUPS to print to the device on the network.
    -or-
I think, from what I've read so far, that Icould use eprint if there was a way to put a windows driver (Yes, begrudgingly I have access to a Windows laptop that I can put on my network) on the m1212nf as well as the hplip driver that currently lets it communicate with my primary computer.
I would prefer an Airprint solution as Airprint works with the mobile devices to the other two printers.
    This question was solved.

    OK, Egg on my face!
Turns out iOS worked perfectly fine, but the Android app I had on my tablet didn't.  Upon further pursuit of the Android issue, I found only one free app that did work (at least for text) in the play store, but that one was really a "trial" version as the printout was watermarked, but one could remove the watermark for two separate prices, one for text and another for photos.
But, by replying with a solution to this problem myself, I consider it {SOLVED].  Futhermore it leaves no doubt that Airprint and the "airprint-generate" script do work for versions of Ubuntu on the Ubuntu side.

  • BlazeDS Java Client + Android

Has anyone gotten the BlazeDS Java Client running on an android device? I have a amfphp server that I want to talk to from my android app. But I'm getting errors linking the jar files to my project.
The 2 errors when I import the flex-messaging jar files are below:
[2010-01-07 12:14:45 - test1]warning: Ignoring InnerClasses attribute for an anonymous inner class that doesn't come with an associated EnclosingMethod attribute. (This class was probably produced by a broken compiler.)
    [2010-01-07 12:14:45 - test1]Error generating final archive: duplicate entry: flex/messaging/version.properties
    Thanks
    Phil

Hi. This looks like an Android issue. I found a couple people with issues that sounded similar to this and they were all trying to build Android apps. Here is one such posting. . .
    http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg11579.html//www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg11579.html
Unfortunately, I didn't see anyone offering a good solution to this problem.
I still think removing all but one of the version.properties files from the BlazeDS modules/jars will workaround this problem.
Since you are new to BlazeDS and Java, it might be easier for you to just modify the BlazeDS jars directly rather than rebuilding from source. You can try opening the .jar files in a archiving/extraction tool such a WinZip and removing/deleting the version.properties files from the jars.
Try that and see if that error you are getting goes away.
    Hope that helps.

  • GWIA Relay Issue, maybe the SPAMmers authenticated...

So I was greeted with a lovely issue this morning that is really driving me nuts. My mail system was relaying messages from [email protected] using a valid user on my system (MFouch). The IP address that was sending the messages appears to be in Lagos, Nigeria (41.203.64.250). I have been combing my GWIA, MTA, and POA logs and I am not seeing any POP/IMAP/SMTP auth from that IP address. The valid local user that was being abused "C/S dos" login was getting logged but from GWIA's internal IP address. I attached a MIME copy of the message.
My GWIA agent is setup to prevent relaying. I do allow relaying from some specifically defined internal addresses. I do allow POP3 in, but only specific users can use IMAP4 (silly Android issue). I require authentication for both POP3, IMAP4, and SMTP. I ran all of the different open relay tests that I am aware of (abuse.net, mxtoolbox.com) as well as tried to relay something via telnetting to my GWIA. I have attached my current GWIA flags as well. I just added /disallowauthrelay for now as a test/precaution.
I found TID 7008712 that confused, upset, and scared me all at the same time (GroupWise Internet Agents are relaying emails when they're not suppose to be relaying.). If what this TID says is correct, how can I continue to use GroupWise?
It looks like I have stopped the trouble for now. I added /disallowauthrelay as per TID7008712 (which will probably upset a few people). I renamed my gwac.db in case there was some corruption in my SMTP access control list. I changed the abused local user's password. I renamed all of my various GWIA directories (000.PRC, DEFER, GWHOLD, GWPROB, RECEIVE, RESULT, SEND, WPCSIN, and WPCSOUT) just to give me some time to clean out all of the deferrals, send items, and to be sure there is not a message queued somewhere. Members of my team are scanning the two machines this user uses as a precaution. I have also explicitly denied 41.203.64.250 access to my network at my perimeter.
Has any of the great minds out there in the Novell Forum Land seen this before or can point out my buffoonery?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jeff

    Hi.
I'm not quite sure where the uncertainty lies. The user yo uidentified
with the logins from GWIA has been hacked, e.g his password probably was
weak and brute forced, or gained by other means (has this user been in
    nigeria recently? ;))
I also don't quite understand the outrage on the TID. It merely explains
what is logical. If someone can authenticate, he can relay. There's
nothing to be overly concerned about, except your password security. You
may want to activate intruder detection... Of course there are other
means to possibly gat to know a users password, but brute force is the
    usual way...

  • Using iPhoto with Android

Is there a workaround for apple's recent breakage of the interaction between these two apps. As of December iPhoto can no longer find images in /DCIM/camera.
    For more information check here:
    http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-help/11644-mac-users-photos-no-longer- show-up-iphoto-9-ilife-11-a.html

This bug consists of two android-related problems:
    - the location where android's camera stores its photos is not the standard one;
    - the name format that android's camera uses for its photos its also not the standard one!
You can check this for yourself, and vote for the problem to be solved, at android support here:
    http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2960
According to the page above, your choices are:
    -waiting for google to solve it (and you can speed them up by voting);
    -modifying Iphoto at your own risks;
-buying (or compile yourself, seems difficult) the fixed ''Camera dcim' app at the android market that one of the folks there created.
I voted, because I think this is google's problem, not mine! Why to spend time or money on this?

  • I use Firefox on my PC and I have no problem reading kurdish fonts, but on my android Sumsung Galaxy S 2 phone I can't read kurdish fonts.

Recently I bought a Samsung Galaxy S II mobile phone which uses Android software. I then downloaded the Firefox for Mobile application to use it as my main browser, but I have a problem, which is, whenever I visit a Kurdish Sorani website some of the characters appear like a small box. Can you suggest some solution please?
    Thanks.

Sorry, most Android devices do not include fonts with full support for the Kurdish script, and so Android applications like Firefox are not able to display Kurdish correctly. For some more details, see this link:
    http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=15401
Unfortunately, there's currently no easy way to install additional fonts on an Android device. For a future version of Firefox, we plan to make Firefox automatically download fonts for missing scripts:
