  • Hi, my iphone 4 home screen keeps flashing on and off repeatedly. if I'm using my phone or in an app it will just go black then light up to the home screen and it does this over and over. Then the power off option will pop up. what should i do

Hi my iphone 4 home screen keeps flashing on and off repeatdly. I will beonmy phone or in an app and it will go to a black screen and then light up to the home screen. Then the power off option will pop up. I have tried letting it die and recharging it and powering it off neither worked. Does any one have an idea on what this could be or what I can do?

If the Slide to Power Off option is coming up, that suggests your power button isn't working correctly and is sticking.
Best thing to do is bring the phone to an Apple store (make an appointment first) and have a Genius take a look at it.

  • My ipod keeps turning on and off after recently trying to restore

Hi guys i was just wondering if anybody could help me my ipod keeps turning on and off after a recently trying to update.. I really need to know how to stop it.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
iOS: How to back up your data and set up as a new device
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • My iphone 3gs keeps turning its self off

it keeps turning its self on but wen i put it on the gharger it works perfectly

Try resetting it by holding the on/off and home buttons until you see the Apple logo, then releasing.  If it won't reset, force it into recovery mode and restore it, as outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808.

  • IPhone keeps turning it's self off after 3.1 update

Since I updated my iPhone to 3.1 it keeps turning it's self off.
Has anyone else had this happen?
    Is it a known bug?

Yes, I think so. Bought brand new iPhone 3Gs. Everything was all right for a couple of days. Than upgraded to 3.1.2 and the problems started - iPhone turns itself off during night mainly. Especially if I forget to trun off WiFi. But when I turn it on, it shows quite good charge (50, 60, 70 or even above 80%). VERY annoying bug.

  • BT Home Hub dropping out & turning itself off, Is ...

For the last 24 hours I've been losing connection in the house and have had to do a reset a few times,
This morning I woke up to my home hub having no lights on however the power was plugged in and on/of button pressed down, I then tested the speed and that seemed to cause the home hub to drop out once again showing no lights and needing reseting......sounds like it's about to die, might be wrong though??

if factory resets does not bring it back to life ( depressing small recessed button on back) then does sound as if hub is dying and you need to phone CS 08001114567 and if you are still in contract then they should replace it

Thanks Kieth it is on wireless, but only recently has started doing this. It has been okay for about 12 months, why has it started just now an not 12 months ago? any ideas ? thank you for responding to my post.
Probably wireless interference causing multiple re-transmissions and causing the HH3 internal buffer to overflow and crash the home hub.
You could try a different wireless channel, or connect using a cable or powerline adapters.

  • External HD keeps turning on and off after Leopard install

Since I've installed Leopard, my external HD seems to keep turning on and off at random times (i.e. the disk starts spinning for a little while, then stops, then starts again) when I'm not doing anything to access the HD. Any ideas if this is an issue with Leopard or something wrong with my HD? It wasn't an issue before Leopard.

Glad to know that I'm not the only one and that I'm not going crazy!
At least in my situation, TM has never been turned on. It might be Spotlight, but my guess is that after being installed for several days now, that most anything needing to be indexed would have been indexed. No virus checkers installed. Also, my external HD is only for backup (not saving stuff or autosaving stuff on the external HD).
I've noticed it a bit more when using Safari, but that may be purely a coincidence. The solution I've basically used has been to eject my HD and then re-mount it when I need to use it.

  • Since the iOS7 update, my iPad mini keeps turning its self off every 5 minutes of turning on or so. What can fix this?

Since the latest iOS7 update, my iPad mini keeps shutting off and on by itself every 15-20 minutes. I've reset all settings and this has still not solved this problem. What can I do to fix this?

Try a reset first: Press and hold both Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.
If the reset doesn't fix it, try a restore:

  • BT home hub keeps disconnecting with the same mess...

As post says above my BThomehub for BTinfinity keeps disconnecting ever 15 or so minutes and I have to go and have it automaticly connect again.
It keeps telling me along the lines of
"[email protected] should be set as your username"
"your username is currently [email protected]"
There are no problems around my area.
Is my BT hub breaking down? And what can I do to fix it?

Not on infinity myself, but that just looks daft.
You don't need to use the default of 'bthomehub' before the @, but anything you want.
I wonder if you were to change this, would this error message then disappear....?

  • Wi Fi Light On Home Hub Keeps dropping

I know this subject comes up every now and again but my Blue Wi Fi Light keeps going out every couple of minutes which is causing all my wireless devices to lose connection (very frustrating).
I've tried changing channels and turning everything on and off but could it be a problem that is beyond my powers to resolve?
    I hope someone can help,
    Phil

There are 13 channels to choose from, if you disable smart wireless.
Smart wireless ony checks channels 1, 6, and 11.  These are quite often in use, which is why it keeps retrying them.
