BT Homehub 5 disconnecting Windlows clients only

Hi,
I'm having a problem with my HH5.  Basically, I have 2 Windows 8.1 laptops which disconnect from the wifi network and can't reconnect until I restart the hh.  Everything else stays connected; printer, TV, iPhone, iPad.
The log on the hh shows that both machines are deauthenticated from wifi and that's it.  I've done a factory reset to see if that helps but while I wait (and do so with little faith that it's fixed) I thought I would post here to see if anybody has seen something like this.  I've had the hh for a few months now and it has been pretty solid up until a few days ago.
Thanks,
Gary.

Hi GJ1982,
It sounds like you've got the same issue as BT Home Hub 5A - dropping connection updates. Can you post up the details from your hub event log which might help confirm what the problem might be?
Cheers
David

  • How to set time zone for a session in Client Only installation

    Environment:
    OS : Unix (HP-UX 11.0)
    Oracle DB : Ver 8.0.5
Developer : Ver 1.6 ( Client only Installation)
    Developer also on Unix.
RDBMS and Developer Installed on different
    home directories.
Our development is Forms 4.5 on X windows.
    Runtime is forms character mode.
    Probelm Description:
To run the application I am using TWO_TASK to connect to the database. In our application we have to take care of time zones. For that in previous versions(NO TWO_TASK used) I used TZ unix environment variable, to get time zone dependent time wherever sysdate is used.
Now because I am using TWO_TASK, oracle is no more using users TZ settings.
Question : Is there any way I can make oracle to use the TZ environment setting

    Thanks for replying Johnny!
What you are referring to is adding a city. I need to know how to set the time zone in settings -> Date & Time -> Timezone. Unless & untill this is set properly the iPod will never show me the right time. Please help me with it.
I will definately use your advice on the second query.
    Thanks once again!

  • Disconnect a client

i have two client machines ( client A ,client B) and a server.
i create a interface for server. it will run into the server. using this interface administrator can monitor client activities.
i want to write a program for disconnect particular client from the main rmi server. but other client should run with out any problem.
    how can i do it?

If you mean to disconnect a client after it has called the main server, you don't have to do anything, the connections are dropped after 15 seconds.
If you want to prevent one of the clients from ever connecting to the main server, you can do that either with custom code in the server that checks RemoteServer.getClientHost(), or by excluding that host from the hosts permitted by SocketPermission 'accept' in your security .policy file, assuming you are running a SecurityManager at the server.

  • Where is option to "disconnect wifi clients" from personal hotspot?

According to this Apple Knowledge Base article, there should be an option in Settings > Wifi to "disconnect wifi clients" who are connected to the iPhone via personal hotspot: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4517
I do not see that in the Settings. I am on an iPhone 4, iOS 5.01, AT&T. Does anyone else see this? Was it removed in an iOS update? The KB article says it was updated December 14, 2011, so it should be pretty current.

I too was looking for it and it's. It in my iPhone 4 AT&T 5.0.1 Perhaps it's not in this firmware update, in another location or apple decided to axe this option.
Perhaps they reason that if you're going to disconnect all users, and leaving wifi sharing on was redundant as the wifi will cease to hotspot after 90 seconds anyways, it probably saves battery life... I dunno all I can think of.

My understanding is that the client only configuration should connect to a remote tuxedo domain as an anonymous client instead of a peer tuxedo domain, but the remote tuxedo gateway domain listener is acting like the client has to be configured in its dmconfig file before it will allow the connection request. Is there a different kind of listener the client only configuration should connect to instead of the tuxedo gateway domain listener? How can a remote tuxedo domain accept a connection from an anonymous client if the client must first be specified in the remote domain's dmconfig file? Is this a tuxedo 11g only feature? I'm trying to connect to a tuxedo 10.3 server.

Looks like this is an RTFM question. From:
    Is the following:
    Dynamic RemoteAccessPoint (RAP) Insertion
In order to make default LocalAccessPoint to work, Oracle Tuxedo GWTDOMAIN gateway configuration is required in order to make this simplified /Domain configuration to work.
GWTDOMAIN gateway must be modified to allow Dynamic RemoteAccessPoint (RAP) Registration. If DYNAMIC_RAP is set to YES, it will also update the in-memory database of the status of the connection from those dynamically registered RAP. If the connection from those dynamically registered RAP lost then the information about that RAP will be removed from the SHM database.
GWADM must be modified to process the DM MIB correctly to reflect the connection status of those dynamically registered RAP. When the connection from those dynamically registered RAP lost their entries in the SHM database will also be removed so that the DM MIB query can return the connection status correctly.
The dynamically registered RAP will be added to /DOMAIN configuration permanently. Their existence will only be known when the Session is established. Their existence will be lost when the connection is lost.
The DM_CONNECTION Oracle Tuxedo /Domain DMIB call returns all the connected dynamically registered RemoteAccessPoint. All other dynamically registered RemoteAccessPoint that are not connected will not be shown.
The OPENCONNECTION DMIB request will not be supported to connect to those dynamically registered RAP.
The CLOSECONNECTION Oracle Tuxedo /DMIB request closes the connection and remove the session from those dynamically registered RemoteAccessPoint, and returns its connection status as 'UNKNOWN.
The PERSISTENT_DISCONNECT type of CONNECTION_POLICY will be honored that means when PERSISTENT_DISCONNECT is in effect all connections request from any RAP, whether they are dynamically or non-dynamically registered, will be rejected.
I must have overlooked this section when reading it. Looks like I've got more configuration to do.
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • Oracle 9i Client ONLY Download?

    Anyone,
From the online downloads is there any place to get what can install the Oracle Client "ONLY".
We have a site License to Oracle need to have remote sites be able to set up connectivity. Trying to avoid having them download entire 300M of Oracle Lite just to get the Oracle Client/SQL Net installation and/or burn CD and ship to them to install.
    Thanks in advance,
    David Miller

That 600MB file is exactly what I wanted to avoid having them download.
They are not on a very good pipe and I am never goingto hear the end of how long it takes to download.
I am AMAZED that Oracle can not create a "thin client" for their software... Unbelieveable.. This is why SQL Server is catching up so fast....

  • Disconnecting Tuxedo Clients

I would like to know if there is a simple way to disconnect Tuxedo clients from
a Tuxedo server (perhaps in tmadmin??). My preference is to be able to disconnect
a tuxedo client based on the user that is logged in (eg, the username listed when
a 'pclt' command is run in tmadmin).
I'm using version 7.1 of Tuxedo.
    Any help appreciated.
    Rod.

You can do this at runtime. You can either write a program that calls the MIB, or
use a ud32 script. You'll need to know the client ID and some other key fields.
If you get stuck, post another message and we'll see if someone can help you a
    little more.

  • Disconnecting DHCP Clients

Wondering how to disconnect DCHP clients from the Mac OS X Server?

    Disconnect in what way?
The DHCP standard basically gives the client a lease on the IP configuration. As far as it knows, that lease is good for as long as the TTL says. You can control the TTL used so that longer or shorter leases are offered as needed (e.g. 1 hour, 1 day, 2 weeks, etc.), but once that lease is accepted you can't easily revoke it.

  • 10g Client only

    Hi All,
    AIX 5.3
As there is no 10g Client on separate file any more, I believe the Client installation should be an option at the beginning of OUI run?
I have to install Client only, but the OUI offers me Database installation and no other option.
    What am I missing here?
What's the way to install 10g Client only?
    Thx,

The client media is found on the database download page and is a separate download.
    Try:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/index.html
    Enterprise/Standard Edition for AIX5L:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/htdocs/10201aixsoft.html
For Enterprise/Standard Edition for AIX5L, download both 10gr2_aix5l64_client.cpio.gz and 10gr2_aix5l64_companion.cpio.gz
I would encourage the installation of the Companion CD for 10g because some Oracle apps like OID will require the companion cd if you decide to use your own database in place of the 10g database home provided by the OID media. Separate media for the 10g client is a change from 9i where the database and client install options were options within the same OUI and install media (at least for Windows and Solaris as I recall them).
I have not installed on AIX -- the OS I typically support is Solaris. For Solaris, the database installation and patching is pretty much identical to the client installation except for the base installation where you elect to either install either the database media or the client media. During the client install of 10.2.0.1, select the admin install. This is the install with the largest disk space requirement and will pretty much preclude the issue where some component you later need is missing. I tried installing the instant client and found that much of what I needed was missing (again, install was Solaris/SPARC).
    The basic install outline is:
    Client 10.2.0.1
Patchset 10.2.0.4 (or .5 when it comes out). FYI - 10.2.0.4 is the same download for client and database.
Opatch - most current version --- again, same for client and database
CPU patch - most current version ---- again, same for client and database.
If you don't have the patch id's for 10.2.0.4, opatch, and CPU, I can snag them for you on Metalink.

Unless you installed the ARD administration application on the computers yourselves, all they'll have is the client. The ARD admin app is not included with Macs; it must be purchased from the Mac App Store. If you did for some reason install the ARD admin app, just remove it.

  • Time capsule dropped signal - use as client only?

    Hi all -
A two part question/dilema if you can bare with me.  Trying to learn/understand as well as get myself the best setup.
My TC is nearly 3 yrs old and has always been my router and backup, no problems.  I moved and in the new house find that the TC was dropping the internet signal to my computer.  I had optimum come out twice to check the signal to the house and it was fine.  The TC sits in a wood tv cabinet and there are two basic house walls btwn the TC and computer.  Interference should be nill.
I have an airport express in the same room as the TC for airplay.  This worked fine.  One day i moved it from say 5 feet away into another room, 25 feet away, and found the airplay would not function.  When i moved it back closer to the TC worked great on again.  It seems anything 20 feet away the airplay stops working.
What are the odds that my TC has lost signal strength over the years and/or has a glitch and drops its broadcast signal?   Or is there a chance a setting is wrong that is causing a weak signal between the devices..... my computer for internet and the express for airplay?  Even without an internet signal from outside shouldn't these two devices be super fast speaking to each other on my home internal network without flaw?  Can i test this?
For the second part of my inquiry, if i get a 3rd party router to be the main source of wireless:
    1. Can i hook up the TC to "strengthen" the 3rd party signal without interfering?  My fear is that if TC broadcasts i'll run into the same weak/dropped signals on devices that hook up to it overe the 3rd party.
    2. Can i make the TC a non-broadcasting "client" only unit for backups only?
    3.  Can my airport express "extend" my 3rd party network without worry of weaking the signal?  Or am i better off using "client" only if i know the 3rd party provides a strong and clear wireless signal?
thanks very much in advance.  I went from never dropping an internet signal to now losing the internet and having airplay working only when TC and airport express are 5 feet from each other.  this can't be right, not for apple products!
    Cheers,
    Joe

Wi-Fi devices don't degrade in the manner you describe.  I'd blame a difference between your old and new houses.
What Wi-Fi band are your clients (and the AirPort Express) using to connect?  If they're using the 5 GHz band, selecting one of the higher-numbered channels (149 and up) can significantly increase the broadcast power.  I'd also select "Use wide channels" in the "Wireless Network Options" panel.
I suspect that the problems you're seeing are due to too weak a signal.  You can investigate the signal and noise level that each of your devices is seeing using the advice in the second message of this thread.
I won't try to answer your question about third-party routers, as I have little experience with them.
