BT HOMEHUB 5 Rebooting constantly

Have been using BTHH 5 for about two weeks. 1st was faulty. 2nd one is rebooting at least once an hour. Is this normalfor this to happen during the 10 days stabliisation period? The BB service was reset about 6 days ago. Have gone back to HH3 cos it doesnt drop connection. SHould I put the HH5 back in and wait for the 10 days to be up?

OpenRG does not appear once in Event Logs. It is literally rebooting several times an hour. HH3 is back in and staying in. HH5 might end up in bin!
Then it looks like you have a faulty home hub 5.

My new ipod touch (software 5.1) is rebooting constantly, white display problems, stuck problems, it is new, do you have a solution? is it software or hardware? I have visited you tube and I am surprised about a lot of problems like this

If you can't turn it off, then let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour, tyrb a reset and restore. If it continue to reboot then time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

firefox 4.0.1 is constantly freezing, having to reboot constantly, and not responding to key strokes, and very slow responses to keys strokes and to change sites. Firefox 3. Do you have multiple keyboard layouts installed?
It is possible that you have switched the keyboard layout by accident.
    * http://support.microsoft.com/kb/258824 - How to change your keyboard layout
Windows remembers the keyboard layout setting per application and you may have changed the keyboard layout by accident via a keyboard shortcut.
    * http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/The-Language-bar-overview The Language bar (overview)
    * Make sure that you have the Language bar visible on the Windows Taskbar
    * You can do that via the right-click context menu of the Taskbar: Toolbars > Language Bar
    * Check the keyboard language (keyboard layout) setting for the application that has focus via the icon on the Language bar
    * You need to do that while Firefox has focus because Windows remembers the keyboard layout setting per application

  • Z3 compact freezes and reboots constantly with large music collection on sd card.

    Hi
On adding my music collection(72GB) to the sd card via the usb cable, I've run into a pretty serious issue/bug with my z3 compact. This renders the phone useless.   All is well as long as I never reboot/shutdown the phone after adding music. I've successfully used the walkman app for a number of days with the full music colletion present.  Once the phone is shutdown,  on restart it gets hot, battery starts to drain significantly( +- 10% in about 4min) and it then freezes and reboots constantly. I've tried a number of things to attempt to recover.
removing the sd card, leaving it out and restarting the phone
removing the music files from the sd card
factory reset but keeping the music files on the sd card
I've used mp3diags to scan my collection for broken files, there were some minor issues with id3 tags which I've corrected but no broken files.
None of these actions improved matters, the only solution seems to be to erase data from the sd card and factory reset the phone. Then add the files again. This is quite time consuming and very very frustrating.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

  • HP Photosmart Premium C310 Series crashing/rebooting constantly

For the past several months (six, maybe? could be more) my printer has been crashing and rebooting every 5–10 minutes. This happens even when I am not using it for anything (although when it happens in the middle of printing something it's even worse).
The printer is on the wireless network. The reboot only happens when one of the two Windows 7 computers in the house is also on the network. If those machines are powered down, the reboot problem does not seem to occur. Connecting my MacBook or either of my two Ubuntu boxes has no effect. For this reason, I am led to believe that the problem is some interaction between Windows 7 and firmware on the device.
My firmware and drivers are up-to-date. I was hoping that I could find some way to roll back the printer firmware to the factory version and just turn off auto-updates to see if that would prevent the problem, but HP certainly doesn't make that easy.
I found a similar discussion in another thread (I don't believe that it's the same printer model, but I'm not sure). There was no solution: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/HP-Photosmart-6525-rebooting-itself/t...
The printer has rebooted twice while I wrote this post. After working on this problem off-and-on for months, the only solution that I can come up with is to throw the printer away and never buy anything from HP again.

    Nope. Didn't work at all.
I called HP support, as suggested, and it has thus far proved a monumental waste of time. After two calls totalling more than two hours, HP customer support was unable to solve the problem.
They had me uninstall and reinstall all drivers and software (including all of their blasted bloat-ware for coupons.com and other such nonsense). They took remote control of one of my computers to poke around. I’d already done several of the things they suggested, such as setting a static IP. We but they checked again anyway. The printer continued to reboot about every 12 minutes or so throughout this process, whenever one of the Windows 7 machines was connected to the network. (We verified again that no such crashes happened when the machines were disconnected.)
They could find no cause for the problem, and suggested that it was a problem with my computer (some software or spyware that I have installed). They suggested that either I reformat both computers and start from scratch or that I pay a local technician to investigate. When I pointed out that this would be far more expensive that simply buying a new printer from a different company, I got the verbal equivalent of a shrug. “Well, this printer was manufactured in 2011.” “Yes,” I replied. “A whole three years ago!”
“We uninstalled all of the software, sir,” I was told. “There is no more communication between the printer and the computer.” When I pointed out that this was obviously untrue, given that the problem only occurs when one of the Windows 7 machines is online, I was told, “That’s why we think that it’s some software on your computer, sir.”
When I suggested that there may be a problem with the printer firmware, I was told that that was impossible, because I was still able to print from my Mac, which I wouldn’t be able to do if there were a problem with my firmware. I responded that that’s a very narrow view of what a “firmware problem” might entail, and the fellow with technical support (whose name was Ronald) replied that the firmware didn’t really have anything to do with printing, and only ran the front panel display anyway.
I laughed a hollow, sad laugh, realizing that this fellow obviously had no idea what was going on, and attempted to explain that the firmware is responsible for translating instructions from the computer into discrete actions, controlling the operation of the printing hardware itself, and in this case would probably be responsible for handling things like network communication. He admitted that he was out of ideas, and escalated the case to their software engineering team.
The whole time, all I can think of is this: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/printers
    I eagerly await their call.

  • Late 2011 17" MacBook Pro reboots CONSTANTLY!!!

Okay first a little history, not sure if it has anything to do with the problem but it might be because it was when this started.  Back in October of last year I replaced my DVD-ROM with a HD adapter and installed a SSD an "OCZ Agility 3" to be exact.  I have metered internet so I waited a few weeks to download Mountain Lion for it.  Well instantly my computer started these just random reboots, which normally I have some sort of game or music playing so right before the reboot the computer will freeze then the sound will be stuck like an old record and do that about 5-10 times and then reboot with a white screen which states: "Your computer restarted because of a problem. Press a key or wait a few seconds to continue starting up."  and displayed in five other languages as well.  I work overseas in Iraq so its hard for me to get parts but still feasible, recently I took out the whole adapter (didn't put DVD-ROM because I didn't bring it) and it did not solve the issue and I still have reboots below are two of my most recent Panic Reports.  Any and all help is much abligued the only thing I have yet to do is wipe clean the original Hard Drive that came with the Mac because I don't have my Windows CDs but the weight of that is dwindling by the minute.  Also if someone smarter than I can explain to me how to read these reports maybe I'll be able to do some trouble shooting on my own thanks!

  • After updating to Mac OS X 10.9.5 my MacBook Pro 2010 reboots constantly

Every update makes more problems. First 10.9.2 introduced the randomly dis-functioning of my external monitor and now after updating to 10.9.5. my MacBook Pro (mid 2010) is rebooting every 30 minutes. It drives me crazy.
Does anyone experience the same problem and even better has found a solution or a tip where to look at?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

  • Ipod does not respond to computer/Itunes, but reboots constantly.

I have been using the same Ipod since 2/14/2006 (Black 30GB-5th Generation). Never had any problems with it at all.
About 4 days ago, I updated to the latest version of Itunes (Ver 7.6.2.9.) and I have been having problems with my Ipod ever since. Everytime I connect my Ipod to the dock/computer to sync, it turns off by itself immediately and keeps rebooting over and over by itself when connected. My Ipod is not able to establish a connection with my computer or Itunes.
I have read other recent threads in regards to similar issues, namely "low battery" or a sad Ipod face, but I haven't had either appear on my Ipod yet. I have put Ipod in Disk mode and plugged it in with a full battery to no success, I have rebooted OVER 50 times in the past 48 hours. The battery is well charged and has not given me any issues, I changed the battery on the Ipod 2 months ago, but it never affected anything. I am able to charge the Ipod fully with my standard AC Charger. At first I thought it was that my computer was not giving enough power to my Ipod, but according to the other posts I read, that is not the case.
In addition, If by chance not enough power is the problem, how can I put more power in my Ipod when it is plugged into the USB port? Why did it change all of a sudden? Most dual AC Power Adaptor USB ports for Ipod have a firewire prong, but I do not have a firewire outlet in my computer to plug in. Can I connect the computer to AC power adaptor and then to Ipod docking station?
I have tried connecting Ipod to another USB port, no success either.
Help! Troubleshooting this on my own has taken its toll. I tried everything!

When i said reboot, I meant "restarts my Ipod".
I tried installing driver to no success. What could be wrong? My Ipod just doesn't communicate with my computer since the latest Itunes was installed.

  • 3rd gen touch rebooting constantly after DFU restore

I've spent a lot of time googling this problem, and found some advice in the forums here but nothing quite like my problem, so I joined up so I could hopefully get an answer.
I have a 3rd gen 32 GB, not jailbroken, that keeps restarting itself when plugged in. The battery died on it the other day and when I tried plugging it in to a computer to charge, it gave me the iTunes and USB logo saying that it needed to be restored.
I have gotten it into DFU mode and restored it, and got the messasge that it has been restored and to leave it plugged in. Then it restarted, stayed on the Apple logo for 20 or 30 seconds, went black, and started the reboot process again.
If I unplug it, it still will only make it to this point and then go black, but will only come back on when I hold the buttons down.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

You restored your computer without making sure everything was backed up?
The ipod touch will sync with one library at a time. a system restore constitutes a new library.
You should use your backup copy to put the music back. the ipod touch music sync is one way - computer to ipod.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( bad idea), then you can transfer itunes purchases from the ipod - without syncing - File>Transfer Purchases
At your risk, you can try a 3rd party program ( not endorsed or supported by Apple).

  • Homehub 2 reboots on connection to hub manager

Using firefox/ie8, over both wifi and lan crashes the router.  Have used all of bthomehub.hom and http://192.168.1.254/ and 192.168.1.254.  I have rebooted laptop/hub reset hub for < 15 and > 15 seconds and used a second computer.
    None of these work.  Suggestions?

there is a know problem with hhv2 that when you access the adsl stats the hub sometimes reboots - it is currently being investigated by BT tech support - and has been for what appears ages

  • HomeHub 5 Rebooting/Restarting Every 15 Days!!

    Hi All,
Apologies if this has already been covered but I am at my whits end. I have had Inifinty 2 for over a year now and my HH5 seems to restart every 15 days as if its on a timer.. I recently had an engineer out as my line went iffy as my max speed reduced by about 20mb and the max available was showing incorrectly too. He put my line on to some new pairs up to the cabinet... The speeds are fantastic as they aleady were and my line was back up running in no time.. Sure enough though.... 15 days exactly later and the hub restarted itself albeit the speeds stayed the same... What on earth doe the HH5 do this for or is there something wrong with my line?? I would love to get to the bottom of this as surely these restarts will affect my speed.
      Info from the router:
Whilst typing this i notice that my hub restarted itself again last night to apply the firmware update.. ending 204... perhaps this might mean the end of the restarts
    Any advice gratefully accepted

Another poster {DavidCo} recommend to set the dhcp lease the max 21 day setting on the hh5 to see if that helps.
    15 days is pretty good for the hh5 & shouldn't really attract the dreaded dlm's attention. {Unless its on a counter phase ?}
Good guide on how the dlm works from BTRetails sister isp pluesnet  . http://community.plus.net/library/browsing/fttc-dlm-what-it-is-how-it-works/
If you don't want to loss the lines connection when the hh5 updates ( or what ever other mischief it gets upto ) You need to use it in tandem the an openreach modem as "guru ray_d"  often highlights .
That way the hh5 can concentrate on just being a router , rather than an all singing 'n' dancing all-in-one.

  • After any security update (EFI), my macbook reboot constantly and start OS without installing the Update. i dont know what i have to do

Hello people. i need some help. i bought my macbook pro the last april 2012. i tried to update everytime i can, but always i have problems: the installer start normally, but the problems start when my system tell me i have to reboot. i press "reboot" and after that my mac reboot 3, 4 o 5 times, and the grey bar doesn't change or move or anything and OS after the 5 times of reboot, start normally, but without installing the update.
sorry for my english. its not my native language.
    greetings.

ok....try this.....this is the long version.........
open disk utility and verify and repair your disk permissions......once the errors are repaired, shutdown your macbook and do a PRAM reset....
once you're up and running, turn bluetooth off and make sure your macbook is plugged in your AC outlet...
    try updating your efi again.....
not quite sure what those sounds you're hearing are...

  • Q10 all of a sudden is rebooting constantly

This happened 18 months ago and my carrier Rogers replaced my unit after 18 months. The same thing is happening again. Initially it would reboot after texts and I have maybe 5 SMS threads on the go. Some have images in the thread. On Saturday I did a complete backup and restore as I did not want to go through the hastle of a factory reset and then setting all my permissions again etc. the behavior still persisted after the re-install Just plugged it in to charge and sync and it rebooted. I do not want to ask for another replacement unit from Rigers as it locks me into a 2 year extension of my contract I believe and caries a minimum $50 fee. Ideas ?

Hello, wilwoods wrote:On Saturday I did a complete backup and restore as I did not want to go through the hastle of a factory reset and then setting all my permissions again etc. the behavior still persisted after the re-installIf the problem is not hardware, then it is possible that the very corruption you needed to eliminate is present in the backup file, in which case it gets dutifully restored to the device when you conduct the restore from that backup file. Manual full reconfiguration is the only way to rule that possibility out. I'd suggest a full OS reload and no restore from backup...see if the behavior is cured...if so, then you know it's not a hardware problem, and can continue with putting things back onto the device. If it begins to fail again, then you know the cause...the last thing you put onto the device.wilwoods wrote:
Just plugged it in to charge and sync and it rebooted.Have you found any consistency to the cause of the reboots? For example, with my Q10, it reboots if I set it onto a table in just the right way...dropping from only a centimeter or so, flat onto it's back. Or setting down onto the table but with a little too much force. It doesn't take much for mine, but that causes a reboot unless I carefully and gently set it onto the table. I have not spent time diagnosing further since my Q10 is not my daily driver. But, the first thing to suspect (if you as well have some consistency to the behavior) is that something is loose inside the device. The only thing you can affect is the battery...so the first try would be cutting a business card to the size of the battery and wedging that between the battery and the back cover of the device. If it's the battery that is slightly loose, this might help it stay in place when the device is jarred. Otherwise, if OS/software has been ruled out as causal, then the problem is something else inside of the device that is loose...and there is nothing more that you can get to in order to try any remedies of your own. Plus which making such an attempt would mean opening the device, which normally would void your warranty, so it's not recommended to try. Good luck and let us know!
