BT Hub 2.0 going off constantly
Hi
We recently have had an upgrade to our "local" network as the email described that I received, but since then my BT hub "clicks" all the lights go out and then over a few minutes comes back on, sometimes with the broadband light flashing orange for a while before turning blue again, it does this about twice an hour and is getting really annoying. The connected counter in the hubs settings is always displaying the connected time as minutes rather than hours & days.
I have rung BT help, but they seemed to be more interested on how I connect my laptop to the hub and how many phones in the house we have rather than sorting the issue. Can anyone other some suggestions as it wasn't doing this prior to the upgrade.

Navigate to ADSL Settings or use the A-Z at the top right of the home page and scroll down to ADSL Settings and click on it

Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

Then someone here may be able to help and offer more advice.

Have you had a quick look through the forum for all the other posts regarding this, or read the newspaper or watched TV in the last couple of days?

The wifi on my iPod keeps going off. I go to settings, turn wifi back on and click on my home hub in choose a network zilch!!! message pops up 'Unable to join the network'!! Can anybody please suggest a solution. I am not really a tech type but if given clear instruction I may be able to solve this menace. Thanks
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

Text message sound going off randomly
The sound of an incoming text message is constantly going off on my phone. I am not receiving new messages. I checked and it does not appear to be my other apps. Any ideas?

Internet going off all the time
My internet has been constantly going off and on for months now. It always happens in the change of the seasons when it is getting warm. Ive had comcast internet since 2011& it has happened every year. The technicians come out and tell me theres nothing wrong with my modem or anything in the house. They put a request for maintenance to come out and check the pole . Nothing ever changes. Its so aggravating to pay for a service that never works correctly. When it works, its wonderful. Spring and summer months are awful! Last week makes 5 times the technicians have visited my house since May! Its about time for somebody at the cooperate level to do something. All my neighbors have already switched internet and tv providers- do I have to switch too!?

*High Speed Enhanced - DSL Light keeps going off and on, Losing Internet *
Issues
My DSL light starts flickering and then my internet light goes off. The DSL then comes back on but internet does not reconnect. This happens 3-4 times each hour.
My max download speed is capped at 3MB even though Im available to have 5mb
This has only happened recently i was able to get consistent 5.8 MB download for 9 months.
I've had 2 technicians come in to check my line speed and it both clocked in at 3 MB download. They thought my line i was on was over capacity so they asked them to switch my port. But still seeing the same issue.
Im out of options here, I have a 3rd technician scheduled but im not confident this is going to get fixed. I guess last resort is for them to check the physical line to see if there is something wrong from central office to my residence?I have to constantly turn off and turn back on the router to get the internet to come back on. This is incredibly frustrating when Im working. Any suggestions here?
This has been going on for the past month and no end in sight.

8.4Your noise levels are terrible, something is going on with the line. Your downstream and upstream speeds are not even at max bitrate. For a 3Mbps line, which is the least you should be running on a range extender card, you should be at 3360/864. If the DSL drops out you'll have to reset the modem to get the Internet light back on, either that or logging into 192.168.1.1 and manually reconnecting the line. Bottom line you have an issue with the line, call Verizon and get a service tech out ASAP.

Alarm incorrectly going off since Daylight Savings Time
My alarm is always set for 6:30AM Monday through Friday.
Since Daylight Savings last week, my phone has consistently gone off at 5:30AM, and the 6:30 alarm doesn't go off. If I set a later alarm, say for 6:31AM (in addition to the 6:30AM alarm), my phone will go off at 5:30, and then 6:31... disregarding the 6:30 alarm.
I have deleted my alarms and then rebooted the phone, and then added the alarms back in. Unfortunately, my phone keeps going off an hour earlier than it should.
Last night I set an alarm for 6:31AM and deleted the 6:30 alarm, and my phone went off at 5:31, disregarding the 6:31 alarm.
Any ideas on how to fix this, or am I doomed to wake up at 5:30 the rest of my life?

The iPhone, and ALL smart phones are highly complex devices. There are several hundred different programs all interacting with each other, in addition to the phone operating system.
This software is constantly being changed and updated. Certain versions will be stable with certain applications. Updates can cause bugs (like the clock not working).
I am a pilot. I do not use the navigation programs on the iPhone. I use a FAA certified navigation system, because I need something more reliable. -
my iphone 3gs signal constantly goes off network. I've tried updating, restoring, reseting, new sim card, etc. Is it the actually phone that could be the problem?

If the panic is reproducible, I suggest you boot in safe mode and try to reproduce it. If you can't, uninstall the modifications, one at a time, according to the developers' instructions, to see whether you can determine which is at fault. A conflict between modifications may be involved. Reboot and test after each uninstallation.
Start with the Razer driver.
Back up all data before making any changes. -

Glad I have found this site, as I have been having so much trouble with BT Broadband.
Have reported it so many times approx a dozen if not more, had a engineer who found four faults.
Basically still the same problem, broadband goes off, this happens up to twenty times a day, have started keeping a diary.
also Vision box freezes then goes off.
I feel we are paying for a service, we are not receiving, and which we have not been for months.
everytime we phone up, they say they can not find the problem.
Contract comes to a end in march, and i wish to leave, infact would like to leave now,as it has become infuriating.
Does anyone else have this problem with BT,?

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or use a-z, if netgear enter 192.168.0.1) and run btspeedtester (MAC users may have problems) bt speedtester and post the results .
are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?

I have had my iPhone 4S for a while and it's worked perfectly. Messages were going through fine and everything. I went on this morning as I had a text from someone. I opened the text and the screen just went back to the homepage. It has never done this before so I tried opening it again. The same happened again. I opened a recent text and I can read the old messages fine, it's just as soon as I click to message/text them back it just goes off.
I tried with Facebook mailing and the same happens, it just goes off. And when I go on safari and try and type something in it goes off.
I don't know what to do. I have tried turning it off and on and that didn't work. I have tried resetting network connections and I just don't know what to do. I am currently trying to software update to the iOS 7.0.4 to see if that has anything do with it. As before I clicked to text the person back a carrier question came up and it has come up before, could that have something to do with it?
Please can you help me?Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore. Try each of these in order until the issue goes away.

Macbook 13.3 white, the screen goes off and only comes on when screen moved
Hi.
I have the macbook 13.3 in white, early 2009 model. The screen keeps going off and the only way I can get it back on is to move the screen back and forth. By the looks of things this is a common problem and it's usually related to a cable between the screen and the logic board.
My question is, how easy is it to open the mac up and get to this cable to re-connect it properly?
Or do Apple repair this FOC due to it being a popular problem?

MarkMy girlfriend has a white macbook that is just over the year warranty. We were going to get the Apple care, but forgot as we got the computer at Best Buy and didn't expect to have problems. I've always previously been a PC guy and had never had problems with my Dells. They all still run and work perfectly but are just obsolete in many ways.
I'm very disappointed with the Macbook. The screen freezes and fades to white and you have to move the screen to get it to work. The computer is still running fine, it just seems like a connection to the screen that is the problem. I brought it to the "genius bar" and they went down and opened up the computer. When I got it back they advised it might be the cable for the screen or the screen itself. He went on to say Apple will not just fix that problem, the only option is to have Apple do a $470 (I believe that's what I was quoted) warrantied overhaul of the entire machine. They don't just fix the problem, they go through the whole machine for $470 and its warrantied. He said a computer repair shop could probably fix the problem cheaper. My problem is that this was a fairly expensive machine that is barely over a year old and its having a problem that it seems many people are having and their only solution is to spend half the money of a new one to fix something as small as a cable that is definitely their fault. I do not think the screen needs to be replaced or the logic board as when you pinch the screen and angle it, it works amazingly. I opened up the machine just to take a look and it seems that the cable for the video goes through the hinge and there is a pleat inside the hinge shaped to contour the outside of the machine when closed that tugs on the cable slightly. I also saw that there was some missing screws that the "Genius Bar" may not have put back. They told me they unplugged and inspected the video cable and the computer worked better for a while which leads me even more to believe there is something wrong with the cable and the hinge design.
I think Apple should fix this problem. This problem that is becoming more and more common and it is definitely a product defect. We are paying a decent dollar for these products compared with PC laptops out there. I'd like to see some decent service. This is not a $470 "one fix fits all" problem for the customer, this is an easy fix for the company to make on faulty products. It will cost them little and its the right thing to do. I predict more and more people will be complaining about this problem in the coming year. They should not be able to profit on this flaw after so recently profiting on the machines.

Ok, so if you haven't worked it out, this is my first post. My problem is all in the title, but once more won't hurt..
I have a bluetooth trackpad which has been attached to my mac mini for a few months now, with only the occasional connection lost, connection found saga that everyone seems to go through. Earlier today, I used the trackpad to upgrade to OSX 10.8.1 nd when the computer rebooted, no trackpad could be found. I've put fresh batteries in, I've tried rebooting the mac mini, I've checked sys preferences and am currently using an old usb keyboard which is v flimsy so forgive any typos please.
The light comes on about a second after the on button is pressed, (whether the button is held down or not) and then goes off after a second, still no trackpad is found..
Why?!!!!No, not paired to anything else, fresh out the box connected to the mac mini I bought at the same time, never been paired with anything else.
I think it's a hardware issue. As I don't seem to be able to get it to turn off. -
please help i am going off my mind since i updated my iphone 4 when i go to sync it tells me it can not be used as it requires 10.6.3 or higher
my mac is running on 10.6.8 and i upgraded my itunes to 10.5 everything seems to be in place but the phone is not even being recognised in
