BT ID web app or page issues

For the last month, I cannot access my BT account online due to a "Web App" or page requiring me to setup / link to a new BT ID.
I have tried on numerous occasions to setup / link with BT ID automatic app process however at "Step 3" where you put a new password, etc, I complete the fields and the page refreshes to blank fields and it won't allow me past step 3.
There is not even an option to bypass the "BT ID" linking process so therefore cannot access any of my account information online.
Is / has anyone else experienced this and knows of the issue / solution?
Can please BT assist with why I cannot suceed through Step 3?
Any information welcome as going paperless certainly has its issues if I cannot checked my account / billing.

I am sure there are people out there still having problems.
After numerous calls with broken promises from BT to call back I eventually got the first line support to put me through to a "very busy" 2nd line IT help.
I think I was fortunate that the first respondent helped me to FINALLY completed creating my BT ID. It seems it is a known issue but I am surprised that I don't see more complaints! I am also surprised that the first line support doesn't have a big sign in front of them reminding them of this bug.
Certainly if you follow their suggestions for a "strong" password, YOU ARE SCREWED! It seems that BT ID would fail if you include symbols and numbers in your new password!!! The first line support obviously didn't know this. Creating a new "weak" password without numbers and symbols seems to work and I have successfully created my BT ID (Hurray!)
I have to say, for such a dramatic forced change on their customer, the testing involved must have been minimal. I saw quite a few complains about this on the web and I am hoping that this is the unpublished reason and is the solution to whoever is still having issues.
Another possibility is my previous failed attempt was also when I tried to create the BT ID via the "My BT" link. My successful attempt was done via the email link (it may or may not make any difference but something else you can try).

Office Web Apps Server 2013 issue

Dear All,
I am encounter problem when I try to open document from my browser. Prompt message will pop-out when it try to preview a document:
"sorry, there was a problem and we can't open this document. If this happens again, try opening the document in Microsoft word"
When I check in Event viewer, there is an error display:
"Could not contact WOPI End Point. Error details - 'Unauthorized url - http:bla.bla.bla....."
Kindly advise on how should I resolve this issue.

the problem stems from the fact that users can go the file menu from the word view and choose to download the document (which is what we want), unfortunately it looks like the link redirects via /_layouts/15/download.aspx which also presents a login
prompt. Much has been written out there about doing direct links for documents via /_layouts/download.aspx to address multiple login prompts when the document is opening in word (from IE).
I've tried nearly every combination of recommendations (disabling client integration, browser file handling (permissive/strict), ViewFormsLockdown feature, web.config modifications with options and propfind verbs and more) all to varying levels of success,
but never totally getting rid of the prompt. It has been stated that because the downloads.aspx inherits from Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.Download this will not allow anonymous access. We really want to use the word view from the Office
web app and have the file download functionality work from the menu there ... can anyone suggest an alternate fix? I might be wishing but will appreciate any guidance offered ...

Office Web Apps 2013 installation issue in HTTPS

I'm trying to install Office Web Apps Server in HTTPS mode but keep getting an error. When I run the command New-SPWOPIBinding -ServerName owaserver, it says "WARNING: The server did not repspond. Trying again (attempt 1of 5)." When I go into Event
Viewer, I see this error for each attempt:

How to add a custom web apps root page?

I saw in Jan 2013 System Update the following:
"Render a custom page when accessing the root URL of a Web App. For example, if you have a “blog” Web App, the items can be made accessible at /blog/my-blog-post, and you’ll have the ability to customize the /blog page"
Could someone point me in the correct direction for instructions on how to make use of this feature.
Couldn't appear to find a link from the Blog release notes to anything, and also tried trawling through support and forums for a suitable post.
Closest I found was one about using sub-folders for web app items.
I've tried adding a page in website admin, with the same URL as the web app, but it simply throws an error as it clashes with Web App url.

Hi Mike.
Because a folder can have a index.html Web apps in the past you could not access that ability. You had to make a page and you could not SEO call it the same as your web app.
SO
Your web app is called Blog.
You can now make a folder in your root called Blog.
In that folder you can create a page and give it a url of index.html
Now when you access the a web app directly - www.yoursite.com/yourwebapp or www.yoursite.com/yourwebapp/index/html you will access that index page.
You can also put other pages under that folder if you want too.

Iplanet 6.0 web-apps.xml config issue..!

I would like to know the reason for marking webapps_enable="off" or "on" in server.xml.

In server.xml, the VS tag needs to also include the id of the virtual server, i.e.
<vs> is wrong, it should be something like:
<VS id="server.iplanet.com" connections="group1" mime="mime1"
aclids="acl1">

Loading PowerBI workbooks in Excel Web App / SP Online issues

I have a number of PowerBI reports hosted on Office365 through SPOnline. These workbooks are viewed using Excel Online. I am travelling through the Netherlands at the moment and none of the larger workbooks (¬20mb) and above will
open, though they worked fine in my home server location (Asia). The smaller workbooks still open fine. I get a "connecting taking too long" error from the Excel Web app. I hope that this issue gets resolved as I would
expect these BI solutions to be available to global users no matter where they're hosted from.

Office Web Apps Farm Connection Issue SharePoint 2013

I have servers owa1 and owa2. Owa1 is acting as host and owa2 I joined to office web apps farm that’s is to owa1.
Both these are in office web apps farm and load balanced. Now my question is: From SharePoint Server when I connect , how should i connect while execute PowerShell command in SP server, in the syntax
–servername parameter what should I specify do I need to specify the FQDN of the server name or host name (officewebapps.jdax.corp.local, this is host record created in DNS by mapping to VIP Of the load balancer (owa1 and owa2).

Office Web Apps Server Name issue with Sharepoint 2013

I have a POC Lab setup for SharePoint/OfficeWebApps with SSL offloading. I am using IIS reverse proxy for my SSL offloader. Most systems can connect to SharePoint and OWA through the Loadbalancer and create documents as desired. The
configuration is as follows:
DNS points:
sharepoint.contoso.com to the reverse proxy address that handles sharepoint.
owa.contoso.com to the reverse proxy address that handles owa.
My OfficeWebApps farm uses an internal and external url of
https://owa.contoso.com and uses ssloffload.
My SPWOPIBinging connects to owa.sharepoint.com (through the reverse proxy) and is configured with the external-https zone.
The name of the OWA server is nyc-owa1.contoso.com.
The issue is as follows:
If I flush my dnscache before connecting to
https://sharepoint.contoso.com, and then use OWA in sharepoint, my client DNS cache will list sharepoint.contoso.com, owa.contoso.com AND nyc-owa1.contoso.com!
Where is is getting the name of the actual owa server?
If I simulate an Internet client that cannot resolve the internal name nyc-owa1.contoso.com, but only the public names of sharepoint.contoso.com and owa.contoso.com, the client cannot successfully edit a new or existing file with OWA, the browser hangs with
Java errors ('SYS' is undefined etc.)
When I add either the real IP address of the server nyc-owa1.contoso.com OR the reverse proxy address for nyc-owa1.contoso.com to a hosts file, the client works normally.
I would like to know how the client is getting the OWA server's name and how to control that behavior.

Where did webapp help go? there is no documentation to do with web apps in the new help pages???

hi, when i login as a partner, when i click on the help and support, the new help pages have nothing referring to web apps.... even when you search, i can find some old knowledge base pages on adobe, but why is web app help pages missing from the new help pages?
what gives?

Web app's are not being dropped.
The support change over has just been done badly thats all. Pushing to get this sorted myself so stay tuned.
Web apps are not only staying but down the line will have a full revamp so you can do things like build your own custom blog with them if you wanted to. After that the ability to compile them and sell them on and a BC market place are all things that have been mentioned.

How do I install web apps to my iphone?

I read on the apple web app support page that you can now download more apps into your home page. However, the vague instructions either do not work or the instructions were posted prematurely and I have something else to do first.
I a, told, in a nutshell, to go to the web app page on my phone then view the app and click on the plus sign and it will prompt me to add a button to my home page.
Uh Uh, that just does not happen. There is a bookmark prompt but no "add to home page on iphone".
When I go to my "about" settings my system version is 1.1.2. When checked, it tells me I have the latest version but is there not a 1.1.3 out there? How do I get it?

True (as did I). Some have noticed that have USB 1.1 that prior syncs with iTunes 7.5 (or lower) seemed to have a lot of issues with freezeups. With 7.6 it is claimed that it works great with USB 1.1 now. So to just play it safe (especially if you have USB 1.1) upgrading iTunes to 7.6 really cannot hurt you. Plus it is iTunes 7.6 that allows manually mananging files with your iPhone with 1.1.3 on it...so you should want 7.6 anyhow. Not to mention if you want to be able to work with the new Retals feature of iTunes, you will need the update.

Is there a web-app item creation limit? Because i have a very slow saving problem and sometimes not working, hanging

We run a real estate website on Business Catalyst.
I created around 50 web-app items ( properties ) at the moment without problems.
But now it starts to slow down, when i trie to save the web -app item, the save preload keeps running ( hanging ) at 50 procent of the time.
It is also hard to scroll true my web-app item pages, also hanging problem.
Does anyone have / had a simular problem?

We experience big performance problems with BC's v3 interface ever since they switched to Amazon last December. You are lucky if it's only slow uploading, we, meaning our clients and us, experiencing very often the editor timing out when saving or uploading, the wheel of death starts turning and does not stop. It does not happen with the development editor or sftp.
We have opened several tickets but the BC support is absolutely useless, they always reply that they could not replicate the issue.
Our clients and us are completely fed up with this issue, sometimes losing your work, sometimes just being unable to get it done, but BC does not seem to get this under control, or they put the EU data center on a low cost backbone....
If anyone has a solution, we gladly take it!

How can I pre-populate a web app input form with data from a webform in the CRM?

Scenario:
A customer fills a registration webform. The customers data is stored in BC CRM as usual. This step provides a lead to marketing unit and the team makes a follow up. Upon completion of internal processes. The workflow initiated by this customer filling the registration form is approved.
Th user is sent a 3rd-party notification with a url to enable the user complete the registration process by entering the information into a web app.
The Issue:
The client is requesting that he doesn't want the the customer to re-enter some of the information that has been captured in the registration form again since it will be laborious for the user to do this. He wants the system to store this customer data already in the CRM and pre-fill the web app form so that the user just submit the data, so that the item can be in the appropriate web app as web app item.
Question: Is this possible? Can this be achieved via js. How should I go about it.

For each option you would need to only have a custom text field for that item. This is where the otpion for each gets populated with javasript.
Each option is your own html that is a select with options as web app items. A list layout of your web app items is just a select with text and value of that item.
Your tricky thing is to setup the matrix of rules to define what shows and when. You can do that with data source association between web apps if it is a 1-1 relationship but if it is 1 to many you need to form script matrix to define what happens on each change.
It depends on the details but thats the core of it.
