BT Infinity Availiabilty Information (School)

I trying to get BT Infinity into a local primary school where I work as network manager. Its proving a very frustrating experience !
Our BT Exchange (Woodbridge Suffolk) has been enbled for FTTC and the local street cabinet (Woodbridge Cabinet 1) is showing as accepting orders. The school is within 150 metres of Cabinet 1 fed by underground cable post code IP121PG.
If I do an BTW address check it shows that FTTC is available with an estimated speed of 80Mbps (Primary School, IP121PG).
On this basis we have been placed two orders with Service Providers for FTTC. Each time a new PSTN line is installed but when the service provider tries to order Infinty they are told by Openreach that FTTC is not available on the installed telephone number.
This is confirmed using the BTW checker on the telephone number. Latest line installed 01394******
The last time we had a line installed I got the engineer to check whether there would be any issues providing FTTC. He verified that the new line termnated in Cabinet 1 and that there were spare tie pairs to the adjacent FTTC cabinet.
As a School its important for us to have fast cost effective broadband and FTTC looks an ideal solution for a small primary school. On the face of its it would appear that Infinity should be available to the School. If there is a technical issues with getting Infinity it would be useful to understand what it is so we can try and resolve things.
So far neither Openreach or our Service Providers have beeen able to provide any useful information on the issues we have experienced. I have even emailed Joe Garners office twice and received nothing other than an acknowledgement of my communication.
If anyone can offer some help I'd be really grateful.

Most of the schools round us (be that primary or secondary) use the JANET education network which also links the schools systems to the LEA at the local council (eg to allow the LEA to block certain sites and to create a VPN and Proxy network between the schools systems and the councils)
Though from the BT Wholesale database, it seems to be a database error. However as a school, the school should be using a education or business communication service, rather than BT Infinity (which is for residential customers)
Also please can you edit the number for the security and safety of the school

Why can't I access a list of details like noise ratio and attenuation any more. Clicking on troubleshooting says that these details are.available and may be needed if the helpdesk is contacted, it used to be possible to get to it from a link at the top of the event log but since a reboot of a couple of days ago this link has disappeared.

No I am running the the latest firmware on the hub5 my reference was to adsl not infinity the information is available infinity but not on adsl the only info given on adsl is connection speed and connection time is in the actual hub logs

Poor advice ends up with having an 18 month contra...

After being a very happy VM customer for many years, we recently moved to a non VM area.
We moved to a brand new build on a very small development of approximately 40 homes. I was the last to move in. Although I had spoken to residents that had Infinity, BT informed me that the only service available was upto 17mb BB. So I signed to phone line & BB on a 12 month package. The Openreach engineer turned up installed everything and actually told be I could get Infinity. Low & behold over Xmas I checked online and I could get the upto 76mb package. However as the 12 month contract is only available to "new" customers I had no choice but to sign up for 18 months. As although I'd only been with BT for one week I was not new!
Now, call me a cynic but I can't help seeing this as a back door method of locking new customers in for longer than the usual 12 months.
Has anyone else had similar issues?

Yes, I have rebooted it. I think, because the screen was totally dark. Software is fine. The store just said it has to be a hardware issue and hardware does not get fixed. Apparently, it just happens to some iPads and no clue why.. It is working fine at the moment. So, I will wait till the screen goes totally dark forever to buy a new one.

In addition to what Ken said, I would suggest that you give Edge Animate a shot as well.
Creative Cloud is available as trial version for 30 days and almost all creative software is bundled with the Creative Cloud. Tutorials are included for each of the products on the respective sections of the website. For instance, this site Website builder | Download free Adobe Dreamweaver CC trial gives you access to the trial version as well as tutorials.

In some folks' version of the world, you have plenty of ways. YOu have the aforementioned services, you have iCloud, all you need is an internet connection and you're good to go. And that works perfectly...if you always have the internet.
If you want more non-internet dependant ways, then the best way to let Apple know is to send them feedback. They don't monitor or respond to this forum (Beyond removing rule breaking posts) but they do at least log feedback. However, the lack of a file manager will always be an obstacle. There are some apps out there that have at least a pseudo file manager - as in the ability to move documents into multiple other apps. I have Readdle Docs which I can use to download and move things around with, but again, back to the internet or wireless.

BT Infinity and loss of caller display information

I have BT Infinity installed on my telephone line and getting some good results with speed.
However, ever since I have had this installed I have had intermittent issues with my cordless phones displaying caller display information.
Where as before the BT Infinity installation I uses to receive either a telephone number or the name of the person (if stored in the phone memory) now I am receiving 'unavailable' atleast 50% of the time..
Has anyone else got this issue or has managed to solve the problem?
It cannot be a reset issue as I have wifi issues and restart the HH once a week or so!..

Hi Ickle1999,
Welcome to the forum and thank you for posting. There is nothing in the Infinity Broadband that should stop your caller display from working correctly. It could be a case that the numbers that are showing up as unavailable has simply been blocked by the person making the call.

Could I login to my iCloud ID on my school's iMac without leaking my personal information to others?

The qustion is just as the title decribes. I have a Macbook Air but sometimes I need to use my school's iMac since only the latter has some software needed for my courses, thus I am wondering if I can login to my iCloud ID on school's iMac so that I can get easy access to my calendar and mail online.
I am running OS X 10.8.3 on my Macbook Air, the school's iMac is using OS X 10.7.4

Just go to icloud.com and access your calendar and mail on the website, Make sure to logout before you close the browser.

What can I do if 2 Imac were stolen from my school with my personal information?

My two Imac were stolen at my classroom. It was a federal program and has my personal information as a guardian of the equipment. Both of them has a password for login. They can login and see all in the computers? my accounts? students information? Can i block each computer?

You should be able to go the apple store and they can tell show you how to get the location of your products. They can also show you how to erase all your personal information on your products as well. Then also make sure you file a police report. I live in Anchorage, AK and we have a store here that gives free lessons on all the Mac products. I hope this helps.

If you are in the US then you can only use the US store (you can only use the store in the country in which you are in), for which you will need a US billing address on your account - and as far as I know debit cards are no longer accepted as valid payment method in the store, they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts about them being declined.

How are schools updating Apple Apps via app store without sharing AppleID information?

Wondering how other schools and districts are updating Apple Apps in the Mac App Store. Initial updates were done with a institutional AppleID that is not shared with the users. Tried checking the updates via Terminal with softwareupdate -l and the results is only iTunes and not the other apple apps like Pages, iMovie, Keynote.
Anyone have suggestions on getting the updated apps to the workstations?

OK so I finally managed to find some time to call Apple Support on this matter.
Apparently it is because I downloaded the apps some time ago and that these were associated with my old email.
If they are free apps (mine were - LinkedIn, Facebook, and a couple of others), you simply delete these from your phone, then reinstall them from the Appstore on the phone - easy! To delete an app, simply hold your finger on it until it 'wiggles' then click on the X in the top left corner of the app icon. Then simply boot up appstore and download the new version.
If you have Apps that you have paid for, then I suggest you give them a call and see what they can do for you as I didn't need to cover this off with them.

HT2534 The New iTunes does not have an option to create a Apple ID without putting a credit card number in - I need to be able to do it without entering information in as it is a school iPAD and cannot have any link to a credit card (school or personal).

Welcome to the Apple Community.
To be able to download free apps without a recognised method of payment or gift card.
Open iTunes and navigate to the app store. Select a free app to download. A simple way to do this is to scroll down to the top free apps box on the right hand side, hover your mouse over the first item and click on the free button that appears when you hover over it.
A pop up will open asking you to sign in with your Apple ID click "create new account", click continue to create your account. Check the box to accept the store terms and conditions and click continue.
Enter your email address, password, security question, and date of birth, click continue. Now, you will be asked to provide a payment method. Note now that the last option says "none".

BT Infinity Installation Problems

We had an appointment to have BT Infinity installed on Tuesday 19 February, but the engineer informed us that he could not locate the green box due to local roadworks. After he left, we quickly located the green box ourselves, which was perfectly accessible. Unfortunately, our BT Home Hub was automatically switched off at 12:00, and we are now left with no Internet at all bar an extremely weak WIFI network. As I regularly work at home and have two children who need the Internet for school and university work, this is clearly a frustrating situation, particularly as the engineer could have completed the installation on Tuesday.
After this point, we have regularly spoken to various people in both Indian and UK call centres. Tracy first attempted to contact the original engineer, who phoned back and ensured us that he was organising a replacement engineer to arrive before 18:00 on Tuesday evening. By 18:00 nobody had arrived, and we have then spoken to Judy and Maddie, both of whom guaranteed phone calls which never transpired. Nenu yesterday evening promised that our case had been escalated, and that we would have a confirmed appointment time by 18:00 this evening (Thursday). Once again, no phone call came, and tonight we were informed that a mistake was made and we will not be informed of an appointment until next Monday 25 February. This appointment could then be three weeks away from then.
As this was BT’s fault, the customer service, which has consisted of excuses and blatant lies, is completely unacceptable. We see no reason to believe that we will receive a phone call next Monday, and can see this vicious circle simply repeating itself. We have repeatedly been placed on hold and have wasted hours on seemingly futile phone calls. As you must understand, we require a priority appointment ASAP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
