Had BT Infinity installed last Friday and now cant access secure sites such as my Bank to check my account or Credit Card site to check latest outgoings. My laptop accesses but PC doesnt using the same router. Any suggestions please.

Seen this hundreds of times, the most likely cause is CMOS battery in your PC running flat, it means that whenever you unplug your PC it loses the date and time.
SSL certificates are valid for date periods and your PC things it's not in that date period.
First thing to check is your Date/Time

Safari and iTunes having problems accessing secure sites

I've been having problems with iTunes not being able to access the iTunes Store. I can browse the store but can not add anything to my shopping cart. I decided it was time to see if Safari was having problems with secure sites and sure enough I discovered that it can not access secure sites either. The only way I've been able to access secure sites is via Firefox.
A typical scenerio is that I can not log onto my Apple ID. As soon as I click on the "sign in ID" link I get a pop-up stating that a secure connection to store.apple.com can not be established.
So far I've tried clearing the Safari cache and deleting site keys from my stored key chains. Nothing helps.
I'm running Safari 1.3.1 and iTunes 4.9.

Can anyone help?

Firefox shows Errror Code "ssl_error_bad_mac_read" when trying to access Secure Sites

When I try to access secures sites (URLs with https) Firefox shows me the error code "ssl_error_bad_mac_read".
This problem '''only''' appears '''in Firefox not in Internet Explorer''' and it '''also''' appears when I use Firefox in '''Secure Mode'''.
The problem appeared this morning for the first time, until yesterday everything worked fine and I didn't install or update any new PlugIns, Addons, Firewalls or something like that.
I tried to make the SSL-Test from Boston University you propose on your help page and couldn't access that page either.
I use Firefox with the version 5.0 and would be glad to receive any hint to solve the problem.

Open Firefox -> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Advanced -> Encryption
-> Protocols section -> Put Checkmarks on both options
-> Certificates section-> select Radio Button Option 2 -> Click OK.

Reset Safari -- Now I Can No Longer Access Secure Sites Or iTunes Store.

Hi, A few days ago I reset Safari (I'm still not sure why... boredom??). Well, now I'm paying for it. Now I can't access secure sites (such as gmail, bank accounts, etc.). in Safari. When trying to access a secure site I get an error window that reads something along the lines of: "Safari can’t open the page because it couldn’t establish a secure connection to the server." Even more annoying, I can't access my account on iTunes or access the iTunes store. When trying to do so an error window pops up that reads: "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. The requested keychain was invalid. Open keychain access and run Keychain first aid, then try again."... Did all that. No help. Incidentally, all my keychains are now gone).
I tried accessing the secure sites through Firefox, which still works fine. But the iTunes problem persists no matter what.
Has anyone else been encountered these same problems or know what I need to do to fix them? Any advice would be appreciated. I'm stuck!

Help can't access secure sites?

Hi i've had this ongoing problem for the last year where by i can access sites fine with the web proxy as long as they are not secure sites like hotmail etc... i think it must be something to do with the ssl settings and having a certificate. Has anybody run into this problem and is there a workaround so you can make your own certificate so clients can access secure sites?

There isn't enough information in your post to answer your question directly.
For starters, what error message do you get? That will go a long way to identifying the problem.
For example, it could be that your proxy is not configured to handle SSL traffic. It could be that your machine isn't configured to use the proxy for SSL (there are separate settings for HTTP and HTTPS proxy servers).

Installing OSB on Oracle Linux is just the same as installing on any other supported linux and is described in Installation and Configuration guide. Just stick with the directories and procedure described in install guide and you should be fine.
For media server choose a physical host due to performance considerations. I think it is mentioned in docs somewhere.

Strange WLAN issue - can't access secure sites

I've just bought a Toshiba L100-120. Everything is fine except the following.
I can't access secure sites with the built-in Intel 3945abg device. Other sites are OK.
If i connect LAN, everything is fine. If I insert my PCMCIA-wireless card, also everything works. The only problem is: to access secure sites with the Intel wireless device.
I already changed the drivers, I tried everything. It's very strange :(

Im a little bit confused. Do you mean the secured WLan or secured internet websites????
If you cannot enter the secured, encrypted WLan you need to enter the right key.
In other case if some websites are not displayed you could try to change the IE privacy settings for the Internet zone.

If you mean the listing of internet streams that seems to have disappeared for many users of older iTunes versions over week ago. Probably some update at Apple broke older versions. No idea if it will ever come back but you can open stream URLs you find on the web and save them in playlists.

Accessing secure sites with 3rd party router

I want to use my original router "Buffalo WBMR G54" with BT and have been for a short while but cannot access online banking or barclaycard online, works ok with home hub. Tried both firefox and IE8, pages just hangs on both browsers.
Any techies around know why this is please? My Buffalo worked fine as a 3rd party router with talktalk

First check your Firewall is not blocking SSL port 443.
This thread contains most of the information you may need to change you PC MTU value, I don't think the Homehub MTU value can be easily changed?

I had BT Infinity installed on the 19/3/12 and have currently been getting around roughly the same down speeds as my old BB package at 20mbps (roughly averaging out between 15mbps and 19.xx Down) My upload speeds are really good and have seen a clear change, now sits at 8mbps upload compared to the 0.94 on the old package.
Now since I have only had it installed just over a day ago I have seen nowere near the speeds I was expecting, or told.
(the engineer tested the line on his device and said i should get the full down and up speeds 40/10 or around 39.9 ect)
The engineer however never did no do a speedtest infront of me on my PC.
At some point through the installation he had to change the hub for a different hub ( something to do with a faulty batch and the wifi not working ) - fair enough so i doubt that would affect my speed as im using a cat5e connection to the hub from my pc.
Im not sure becuase its only been a day and a bit that my speeds are slower than expected and something needs to settle at the exchange or some switch that needs flicked thats causing the problem or what?.
On another note, my father has been using wifi on his mobile and picks up speeds of around 2-4-8mbps, while on my mobile i achive 15mbps + and we were standing at the same range from the hub.
Is this down to the multi channel (set to automatic)? should i try changing the channels to see if he can get better wifi connection?

Hello, i have this issue, and can't open settings>display, it just swaps and goes black for half second then back to settings menu,
I have tested soft reset, but to no help
It was so from the start when i installed it

Yes, latest sw, and no updates on apps, that option have never been accessable since i opend the pakage and installed the phone, on last weekend on sumday, so yes it is something wrong, cant access extras+info neither, it must be related to software, they would take the phone and send it to Nokia, that is ridicilous, they should just swap it for a new one when it was that failure out of the box

Safari user name and password for secure sites

I just sent the following to "Mac OS X Feedback"
Some secure sites like brokers, e.g., Ameritrade, do no allow autofill in Safari for the user name and password. In fact Safari does not even ask if you want to remember the user name and password just entered for such sites.
I would like to suggest that something be done for users in such cases:
1) A dialog box comes up warning that this website does not allow autofill.
2) A suggestion is made as to what network setting needs to be changed to allow autofill to work
3) A fix in Safari to take care of this problem
4) Add something to Safari help

Think about what would happen if someone gained access to your Mac, say while you were briefly away from your desk or whatever. They launch Safari, go to the login web page of (for instance) your bank & discover that autofill has helpfully filled in your user name & password so all they have to do to get access to your accounts is click the login button.
From there, they can transfer all your assets to some other account (theirs!) or invest in FlyByNight.com or whatever -- they can do anything your password lets you do with any password-protected account ... anything!
Take this a step further. Say you have enabled auto-login to your primary account at startup, or have used an easy-to-guess account password for it. Someone steals your computer ... & with it potential access to all your online accounts with autofill entries.

Unable to access secured site for some

Greetings.
I have setup a secured website on a 10.4 server. The site is the default page in the WebServer\Documents folder.
I can access it fine from work and have had others access it without issue from computers at their homes using typical ISPs. However, when I try to have other access it from other locations using the same login and password, such as a business with its own networks, they are unable to connect. They get back an error message saying the password is in correct.
Everyone can access the site when I have the security settings turned off.
I have set up a realm to handle accessing the site. I have the following also enabled:
WebDAV
IP addess is set
domain is set
I am using Port 80
Realm authorization is set to "Basic"
Performance Cache is on
I DO NOT have the following on or active:
SSL
SSI
I am sure I am missing something else.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Open the terminal window in the iMac and enter the following command:
traceroute \[domain name here\]
That will trace the route from your computer to their site and you will be able to see where it stops. There are a number of things that might cause this kind of problem:
1. The website is down
2. There's a network problem between your ISP and them
3. They are blocking your IP address or your ISP for some reason
4. Content filtering or the firewall in your router is blocking the website

Safari 3 not accessing secure sites

I am still using Safari 3 (3.2.3) and in the past few days I haven't been able to access secure web sites that I had been able to previously (such as an on-line mail server, bank account, etc.). When I attempt to I get a message like this: "Safari can’t open the page “https://mail.xxxxx.com” because it couldn’t establish a secure connection to the server “mail.xxxxx.com”.
It won't even let me log in to Twitter. Any ideas?
