BT Infinity - Is it available for me or not? (New ...

Hello,
I recently moved to Basingstoke and the broadband speed is terrible!! My profile is set at 2500kbps, which is much lower than my previous address, where I used Virgin Media and was receiving around 15000kbps! In fact, I think I've been spoiled because my current service from BT is just painful.
I'm desperate to speed my internet up and discovered BT Infinity.
The house is a new build (on a new road, with a new postcode) and when I check the postcode on the FTTC availability checker online, it says that I can't get FTTC BUT when I check the postcodes of the roads around me, they CAN get FTTC.
Is there a mistake with the checker or has my road been excluded? also, I'm not sure which street cabinet I'm connected to. Can anybody tell me how to find out?

I have just tried that all I get is my currnet Broadband speed with no indication apart from register of interest for Infinity.
A lot of work has been done in the cabinets localy and yester I received a leaflet addressed to staing that Infinity uo to 40MB was now in my area.
I would like to get some indication as to what Infinity speed I could get compared to my current 5.5MB (or less)

Hello All,
I have created few properties like ReqNo (takes Integer) and ReqDate (accepts Date).
I have set the above 2 properties as manadatory. Created a Group and added his goug in 'allgroups' such that I see a tab wherein I can fill in these properties.
My questions is:
<b>Is it possible that these properties are only available for files and not for folders</b>. The reason being that even if I create a new folder, I need to fill some values in the above two mentioned properties.
These properties need to be mandatory and cannot make them optional.
Please help me solve this mystery.

Hi Ritu,
If you only want the property to be available for files and not folders you only enter data into the "Document Validity Patterns" field in the Property config.

10.0.8 is no longer available, except in the trial version. The current sale version is 10.0.9. Apple has never sold older versions of their software, only the current version. That's not going to change in the near future.

Best practices for disabling an employees account, but leaving mailbox available for others while not accepting messages

I'm sure that other organizations have some policy for this. In our case, we want to keep the mailbox available for others to still access, but disable the user account and remove it from OWA.
In this case, I've disabled the AD object, disabled OWA from the features, and set the mailbox to only receive emails from a dummy mailbox (so that no new emails are accepted).
This all works fine and senders receive a NDR that their mail was rejected, however I'd also like to set a friendlier custom NDR to call the office instead when any sender attempts to send email to that recipient.
What would best practices, suggestions be for this behavior?

According to your description, the user object in AD has been disabled.
In this case, the mailbox cannot mostly likely be accessed. Thus, maybe OOF couldn’t help you.
If I misunderstand your meaning, please feel free to let me know.

Record button only available for AUDIO TRACK, not for AUDIO INST.

Hi -- For some reason Logic Express 7.1.1 is only giving me the opportunity to record enable tracks that are AUDIO TRACKS. All of my other tracks (mainly software synths) using the AUDIO INSTRUMENTS don't have the ability to record.
I opened previous files where I'd recorded on these tracks, but even on older files, the option still is not there.
Any thoughts?
As for setup, I just have an MAudio keystaton attached via USB, and it's playing the software instruments fine. Also, I sometimes have an MBox hooked up (although not right now.) I updated this recently for TIGER, and I didn't know if this messed it up.

don't know if on Logic express there's the key command 'Capture Last Take as Recording'.
If yes,during playback you can play anything you like on your keyboard and by pressing the keys that you have assigned for this key command you can have everything that you played as events on the specific audio instrument as if you were in record mode.
If you move the SPL the new information will delete the previous one.

I can't turn on airdrop on my iPad retina display. Is this feacture available for iPad or not?

I have read many users say this feacture is not available in older versions of iPad, but I have the newest one (retina display) and airdrop feacture is not present neither.

New movies available for purchase but not rental?

I know this is the content owners and not Apple, but it's extremely annoying to have to wait almost a month to be able to rent a recently released movie, especially when I can rent it from other sources.

It makes perfect commercial sense currently - people eager enough to get the movie on release will pay to buy it (in SD), and they'll later maybe rent in HD.

Why is Infinity no longer available?

A few weeks ago my village suffered theft of the trunk telephone cables, and so I looked into Inifinty as those already with the service maintained thier internet connection (just no phone). As I'm on ADSL with another provider using a static IP, I didn't immeadiatly sign up (I wanted to get external hosting sorted and a MAC code). Having convinced my wife to go for Infinity, and resolved my own blockers to transferring, when I came to sign up for Infinity last night, it is no longer available for my phone line, or a new line. Why is this? Is this purely a capacity issue, and if so are there any plans to upgrade equipment in cabinets that are now full?

I would be very surprised if fibre cabinets are Full yet.
Are you sure that your old local green street cabinet has a newish green fibre cabinet in close proximity to it.
When you first looked into infinity, did you input a TELEPHONE number (forget postcodes, forget addresses) into the BT wholesale checker did it say infinity was available to you.
Your exchange being enabled is only the first step to Infinity, your cabinet must be upgraded for you to recieve it.

Confusion as to when BT Infinity will be available...

I'm new to the forum so if I do anything wrong/say something idiotic I will apologise.
Now for the past couple of months I have been keeping an eye on whether or not Bt infinity will be available in my area. To my delight I saw on the website that it would be available 31st March 2012! Since then I have had no luck obtaining why it has been delayed or anything. I have checked on samknows and it says BTFTTC is currently available.
Post code is DN5 9SF
All checks seem to indicate that it is either available or "should be available".
Is there anything that I can go onto to check for a release date?
Any help would be appreciated as I am willing to leave Sky for this.

Sorry, you're not currently able to get BT Infinity. This may be because your area has not been enabled yet, or your individual line does not support super-fast broadband. Register your interest and we'll let you know if this changes.
This is what it comes up with when i check the telephone number. Yet the exchange checker says Doncaster North Should be activated March 31st. Same as Openreach websiite. www.samknows.com mentions it should already be active =S
Could it just be a delay in the service? Because i know Digital Region is already available (I know that's a local thing though)

Infinity available... then not

Infinity should be available on our exchange by the end of this month.
Prior to last week the checker reported that Infinity was unavailable/not planned.
Last week it started to report that it was coming soon and I could expect a d/l speed of 21.1Mb/s and u/l of 5.3Mb/s, so I registered interest (not for the first time).
Today the checker is reporting that it's unavailable/not planned, yet when I check the address for a house one street away the "coming soon" message comes up.
Should I prepare to be one of the disappointed people who will have to go without?

I am at 10.7, lion. I am trying to update xcode from 4.1 to 4.2. app store says I have an UPDATE available. when i click on it, it says the message in the thread topic.
I have tried
1) , signing out of app store, ending itunes, re-sign-in
2) rebooting
3) deleting xcode
nothing works. when i send support email to Apple, they tell me the SAME thing the message does.
I only have 1 userid at apple.
does anyone have a solution for this?
by the way, NONE of my free or purchased apps that have the UDPATE indicator will actually update . they *all* produce the same message (thread title)
