How do I add a photo to day one

I can't see how to add a photo to a day in Day One since the last update. There used to be a camera icon at the bottom of each day, now there is not.

There is - at least for me. It's the center icon at the bottom of the text entry areaa just above the keyboard.

I have a mid 2007 iMac w/ mac OS X Lion 10.7.5. My time machine (LaCie) is not responding through firewire port (since day one). Did an update mess this up?

I have just recently realized that my time machine has not backed up in a couple of weeks. I am using a LaCie external hard drive that I purchased with the iMac and has been plugged into the firewire port since day one. When I try to establish a connection it only gives me airport utility. When I look through network connections it shows that my fire wire is not connected or at least it doesn't find anything connected.
I have also been getting a start up disk message off and on that I need to close applications due to no more memory? (or something similar to that).
Just curious what might have changed. Did an update re configure something? Are these two issues connected?
I have always loved my Mac for the fact that it just always worked. I'm not super savvy with computers and the settings so I'm not the kind that just goes in to tweek things. This is the first real issue that I have had with it. I would think that it was the fact that I upgraded to lion but I did that quite a while ago.

It isn't the fw in Network you want o use or look at, that's for something completely different.
My first suspect is the Power Adapter on the LaCie has gone.
At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware>Firewire, what is listed there?

If your Firewire or USB isn't recognizing any device. A solution which has worked for some whose hard drive became invisible in 10.4 was simply to follow these four steps to reset the Firewire/USB bus:
1. Shut the machine down.
2. UNPLUG the power lead to the computer and any firewire/USB drive or devices.
3. leave it for 10 minutes.
4. Connect back up and reboot.

Your location is determined from a location database which contains the MAC addresses of routers and their physical location. A MAC address is a unique number which is built-in to all network devices when manufactured. The database is built and updated by actually driving around and mapping router locations.
Since you just moved the location of your router has not been updated in the database and when you use Maps you will see your old location.
If you go outside your house you can be correctly located because your iPod sees other routers which are in the location database. Note that you do not need to be connected to a router for your iPod to see it and obtain its MAC address.

Inbuilt speakers, microphone & SD card reader slot is not working from day one

I bought my HP mini (model no. Hp Mini 110-3009TU; Sr. No. CNC02139GY) on 14th august 2010 from Home Comforts, MP Nagar Bhaopl, Madhya Pradesh, India. I bought it without any operating system and installed Linux [Ubuntu 10.04 (lucid)] on it. I'd like to inform you that it has two problems form day one.
First problem is with inbuilt speakers & microphone, which are not functioning. However my headphone are working with this laptop. So I believe there is no problem with sound related driver. I think it is a hardware problem.
Second problem is in SD card reader slot, which doesn't read inserted SD card.
I've gone to HP service centre situated in MP Nagar, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. Experts over there said that they'll have to formate existing operating system (Linux) and need to install Windows to 'check' whether the said hardware(speakers, microphone & SD card reader) are working or not. Otherwise I've to bring one more laptop so same brand and same model, then only they can check by replacing parts.
Both the options they'd given were ridiculous! I didn't understood why they are forcing me to install Windows?
If HP is also selling laptops without any operating system, then it means the costumer is free to install any operating system of his/her choice. And why should I bring one more laptop? Doesn't your service centre equipped with proper instruments and expertise to check hardware of a laptop?
Pretty girls working in your service centre were totally unaware of card reader – how does it functions?
Even they didn't had any SD card to insert and check.
One among them told me in soft voice: “Sir, you'll have to purchase one 'Jack' for this.” When I inquired further what is 'Jack' and why should I have to purchase it when all other laptops doesn't need such jack? She gone mute as my inbuilt speakers.
Even if I do allow your service centre to install Windows to try out whether speakers, microphone and card reader is working or not, its sure 'experts' at your service centre will install pirated version of Windows. Is it not a malpractice? Does HP allow its service centre to do so??
And further, even if I ignore your malfunctioning for my benefit, could your service centre assure me that inbuilt speakers, microphone and card reader will function properly in Linux as well. Because I would like to continue using Linux.
I request you to look into the matter and tell me what to do.

Since upgrading to ios7 my ipad does not seem connected to icloud. I'm signed in to the same account on all devices, but none of my documents are there (on ipad) and my diary app says icoud is not enabled. I've tried signing out of icloud and back in, rebooting every apple product I have, turning off the icoud buttons for documents (in settings) & back on again, wringing my hands, stamping my feet and so on, to no avail. I'm not a techie, so I'm sure there's stuff I haven't done. My iphone 4 is fine. I've never used pages over there, but it went and started downoading my documents right away, as did numbers. This iPad was under warranty and Apple was contacted for help resolving the above problem. Several trouble shooting techniques were tried unsuccessfully. In the end it was necessary to reset the iPad to factory settings and restore it. Apple could not tell what went wrong in this particular case. Thankfully, it's working once again and other owners have not had a similar problem.

I have downloaded the app Day One on my Mac dekstop - how can i get it to show on my Macbook Air?
On the icloud on my Macbook Air? When I open Icloud on both devices the only icons I have are mail, contact, calendar, notes, reminders, fine my imac and iwork. I have no icon for apps or photos.

Is there a way to move a Day One journal to iBooks?

I used to use an app called myMemoir for journaling. There was an option to move the contents to a PDF and then into iBooks. I did not see a way to do this in Day One? Are there any Day One users who know how to do this?

Whether or not that app has any way to export to PDF or .epub format is something you should be able to find out easily from the people who make it. If not, there is no way to read its stuff in iBooks. Everything I see on the product page, including the first customer review, indicates there is no PDF support.

i subscribe to ITM like two years ago and of course, the service began scanning my collection and match all my song. At the moment, i have 7598 matched songs and 1378 uploaded. Now my question is: how can i restart my itunes match and library like day one and let itunes to rescan my all library and maybe be lucky and discover that all the uploaded songs will be matched???
During these years, i formatted my mbp maybe 3 times and everytime i copy my mp3 collection and after the format re insert on itunes...maybe everytime i did this, itunes match start like was the first time or maybe not?
Or just how can i recheck my uploaded songs?

I don't think this will solve your problem as iTunes Match remember that a track has been previously uploaded. It is unlikely that this will result in tracks being matched.
You could try and remove just the uploaded tracks using the second library method. Once you see the tracks with iCloud status as removed in your original library, try converting tracks from mp3 to AAC or vice versa. Itunes Match may recognise change but match is not guaranteed. Reripping original CD on different format may also work.
By the way, you have around 85% of your library matched. This is a very good match rate. So I suspect to may be wasting your time.

The Day One option to attach a photo will not give me the option to open iphoto to import photos. It offers me Adobe Reveal, ichat icons and iPod Photo Cache - none of which I use. I am using the 1.7.2 version of Day One on my MacBook Pro, version 10.7.5.

Day one of my new MacBook Pro & I desparately need help with calendar and email

It's day one of my new relationship with a Mac, and I need help! I'd like to use microsoft exchange to sync my calendars to iCal & my emails the way I currently do with my iPhone 4 and iPad 2. The problem is that all I get are error messages. They either say that communication with the server cannot be established or communication to ports 80 & 440 cannot be established. One account I'd an ssl and the others are gmail. Please advise!

nd Viewing App. Video will not work

Well today is working, makes me look foolish, not the first time.
When I had trouble the error message was that the script had script errors. When I dismissed or ignored the video never started.
That's ok I have enjoyed the tutorial so far, best I have used.
Before i tried to learn flex 3 and gave up trying to use a database. My daughter wants me to build an e-commerce site for her homemade jewelry, so maybe it can be done in flash 4. Dreamweaver says you can connect to a business model that let's you build an e-commerce site, but I think it has not come out yet.
