BT infinity usage Router details v. BT website (My...

Question

Can someone please explain why there is a huge difference between the usage my BT Infinity router reports back compared to the BT (MY BT) website?
On the BT, My BT website, my usage since the start of this month claims to be as follows:-
Recent data usage
Used
Remaining
13.23 GB used
26.77 GB remaining
40.0 GB until 31 Oct 2011
Product: BT Infinity Option 1 Allowance  : 40.0 GB per month
My router reports this and this is for the last 29 days!!!!:-

Hi. Welcome to the forums.
Although the router can give the stats, it may not be completely accurate. It can reset, and it seems the connection time may not actually relate to the usage.
It might be worth checking daily for a while in order to compare the figures better, not forgetting that the online meter is midnight to midnight.
