BT letting me down

I realise that this topic will have been raised before but I am totally frustrated with BT. I have bought a new built house but just after paying a reservation fee found out there were problems with media service provision. Moved in on 11 July 2014 and still without landline, broadband and TV (other that awful freeview). BT said they would connect us on 4 September 2014. All the hardware arrived on time and everything looked good when tracking the order with my online state of the art (**bleep**) dongle. On 4 September nothing happened. No engineer, no phone call to explain, NOTHING. I rang BT on my mobile (which cost me £9) and just got told they couldn't connect me beause there was a problem with the cabling from the exchange. WHy didn't they tell me??? I was patronise by someone in the call centre in India. Everything would be OK , not to worry etc. I then recieved a message to say that the cabling would be complete by 19 September and installation would be two weeks after this!! It is now the 22nd September and have heard nothing from BT. My guess is that the date will have been put back further. I am really shocked that such a large company as BT should treat a customer like this. Terrible and the level of customer sdervice iin the call centre is worse than terrible. Why can't they tell the truth from the outset? Three months now without landline (which is essential for changing address online and ringing 0800/0845 numbers), no broadband (which is affecting my ability to my freelance publishing work) and no sport on the TV. Intolerable. How do you get to someone at senior management level? Appears to be impossible as they all hide behind call centre operatives and computer screens.

    Hi Andy, yes it's a paid Upgrade...
    First you need to research all the problems people are having with the higher OSX versions, & make sure you have a bootable clone of what you have just in case.
    then you must get 10.6 if they still have it, install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least, more if you can afford it)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)

    Yes, the passwords are the same now. Verizon made a big push a while back to give customers a single login. They merged everyone's accounts, not because it is more secure, but because they think customers will find it easier. No, there is no way to change just your email password.
    And no, there is absolutely nothing wrong with using Thunderbird. Many of us have it configured for verizon.net addresses, and it works just fine.

    You need to be sure to lower your HT multiplier to 3 if you're going to go above 250 ht. Just remember to keep the HT but running right around 1000 (the product of your ht multiplier multiplied by your ht speed.
    For instance, if you're going to run your processor at 2.4Ghz your HT will have to be 267 Mhz. With the default HT muiltiplier of 5 that will give your a HTT of 1335 Mhz which is way to ohigh. If you lower that down to 3, it'll be 798 which is much closer. It is a toss up between 3 and 4 depending on if 4 is stable (267*4=1068). I ran my Neo4-F at 1068 HTT and 2.4Ghz for a long time with no stability issues.

    I have purchased and downloaded Paloma Faith - Fall to Grace delux edition. Track 5 Let Me Down Easy doesn't work. Is there anyway I can down load it again? The rest of the Album works fine.

    Delete the faulty track from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track file to the Trash. Then download the track again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:

  • Ipad 32gb wifi, got too hot error, let cool down, then blue screen, won't reboot or power on

    a friend's ipad got the too hot error message earlier this afternoon, despite the device never having been used outside and having been inside in a 68 degree house at the time. was being used to watch YouTube videos primarily.

    then they got the blue screen, and now the device won't power up, acknowledge power cord plugged in, or reboot at all. no apple screen, no slider, nothing.
    i'm guessing the device is totally bricked.
    anyone have any other suggestions, before we call tech support (it's a company-owned device, not personal, and only purchased in september 2012 so still under warranty).

    Hi Buddy! Well I was up 'til 5am and NOTHING changed on the indicator lights OR the computer...gave it 'til I got up today (11am ish) and still NOTHING!(Just my power bill going up LOL) However, if I turn it off, back on, off, back on THEN press alt+f10 BEFORE it starts 'circling' I get: "preparing repair" right away which gets my hopes up BUT nothing.OK.  So I have gone to look at the option of buying repair discs like you suggested, but the bleeping store web page keeps coming up "sorry ...we are aware of this problem...we are working on it" all in red ink. Yup, right, like you have great customer service too, yeah? grrrrrAnyhoo, wondering about this:a) could something be LOOSE? A neighbour told me her son had the EXACT same model and problem and just the RAM was loose.  He had to pay $$ a technician just to fix that which took about 5sec.  Could that be the case here? Something loose?b) Should/could I open the computer and check myself? What does the RAM board look like? Can I find a diagram somewhere that shows me a map of the inside of the computer?  I am a craftsperson (jewelry) and I am quite confident I have the tools to open it and look inside...What do you think?

  • Ipod service let you down too?

    I bought a 40Gb ipod last year. Now 2 months out of warranty, the ipod stopped working. I used all the tips available online but was frustrated to find that there was no direct helpline number.
    I spent a lot of money on my ipod and for it to just pack up after one year has made me very angry - especially as there is very little support online.
    I took the ipod to a local store where I was told the thing had suffered complete hard drive failure!
    I think Apple's post sales support is appalling, I feel very let down by what I thought was going to be a quality product and I now I will never buy anything with the Apple symbol on it again - especially if it stops working and be told "sorry, it's two months out of warranty, there's nothing we can do".
    I know of at least 2 of my friends who have had the same problem and wanted to know how many other people had wasted their hard earned cash?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    Hard drives do fail, and it really isn't a fault of Apple because Apple does not manufacture hard drives. When using the iPod daily, as with any other devices, things will eventually wear out. Sometimes sooner than later. Sorry it had to be sooner.

    I recently had trouble when opening Creative cloud to update Photoshop, illustrator..etc. Every time i went to open it it gave me an error message so i uninstalled cc. I  went threw the adobe chat support to reinstall cc, the guy sent me a link to download it. I just now went to open it and it will only let me install cs4 or cs6 on the programs i need it only shows about 2 of the programs being cc.     What system? Did you actually run the cleaner tool? Are you sure you are not looking at the filtered section at the bottom of the CC app to access previous versions?
