  • Verizon to offer $100 bill credit on new lines activated? Is this true?

All over the internet, cellphone websites like AndroidCentral are reporting that Verizon is now offering $100 of credit for every new line activated from Feb. 7th to 28th. I just added 2 lines recently and was curious if anyone has heard anything about this offer or if anyone has successfully received the credit?

I just talked to Verizon, the supervisor talked to the marketing team, he even looked at the image himself that has been circulating.
They said they have no such promotion going on. He said his marketing team has been receiving other phone calls about this also, asking about this "promotion/discount". He said he would note this down and have the marketing team look into it.
The only promotions they have in their system are the waived activation fee promotion on new lines and also the trade-in discount promotion.

  • Phone Line Activation

    Hi
i am moving to a new house on the 26th May - I have requested the service from BT and they were going to activate on the 7th June which although slow was managable - now i get notified that the activation will not take place till the 25th June due to Sky still having the line activated from the previous owners, i am assured they have cancelled and are getting a new line in their new house. However i cannot really do without Phone or Broadband for that long. is there any way to activate sooner or get Sky to free the line up?
The BT Lady who informed me said there is nothing they can do but a whole month of no phone - its not heard of.
Please help as this is going to cause a lot of problems

  • Need access code for off line activation for Photoshop Elements 13

Have access to internet. Program installed okay. Have Adobe ID. Click on "Sign In". Next window says "Please connect to Internet and retry". Click on retry and get same thing. Check clock and date on computer and that is correct. Tried off line activation but don't have response code. Clicked on "Generate Response Code". Can't get one. Purchased Photoshop Elements 13 and can't use it. Any suggestions?

Adobe took down the CS and CS2 activation servers, but they put up a version of CS2 for those who previously had a license to it.
You will need to download the software from here, and use the serial number given on these pages. Follow the directions on this link, and you will soon be up and running again.

  • If you can't deliver, don't promise! Late phone line activation

So I moved into a new flat and ordered sky broadband where I spoke to some very helpful advisors on the phone and everything was paid for swiftly. Setting up and paying couldn't have gone more smoothly and I was very impressed with the service.
However...I was told with complete assurance that I would receive my router on Tuesday 30th June (yesterday) and I would be up and running by Wednesday 1st July.
It was only despatched yesterday (rather than Friday which I was told) and having checked 'Tracked my order' it suddenly says my phone line won't be active until 7th July.
I've already rung Sky and they said its out of their control for when the phone line gets activated and they give an estimated date which 9/10 is right.
My complaint here is if its NOT a definite date then why tell tour customers that it DEFINITELY will be up by a certain date if you can't actually guarantee it? I have exceeded my mobile data now thinking I would have home internet by today (1st July) but now having to pay for more data as I've been trying to sort out
    A) why the router was despatched late
    B) why on earth the phone line won't be active until a week after the promised date
I understand part B is out of sky's control, however I feel that if you can't guarantee the activation date, do not lie to your customers and tell them it will definitely be ready! I would have rather you say that it will probably be ready on this date, however there is a small chance it may be a week or so later.
I am much displeased with being lied to, and as such am now being charged for using mobile data as I expected to have my broadband up and running by today. But now I have to wait a week whilst running up even more charges on my phone for necessary reasons I.e not checking fb
I hope you take my advice into consideration and stop giving your customers false hope when you cannot deliver what you tell me with 100% assurance.

  • RE: Line Activation

    Hi all,
We recently had our landline disconnected due to non-payment (Our fault, though we weren’t informed of the missed payment till a week after the line went down) and understand that it requires activation before we can move on.
Seeing as our ISP (Was Freeserve/Wanadoo, now Orange) has been messing us around recently as well, we’ve opted to search for a new Line/Broadband package.
On the BT website I’ve noticed the More Broadband and Calls package which seems perfect for us, but am unsure and where I stand in regards to the re-activation.
If we do go for a 12 month contract, does the full £130 charge
    still apply?
I’m just asking this as the logic seems to be slightly out of balance. Surely a whole new line would cost more than re-activation?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dan

Edit: Removed the rubbish and got to the point
Just a question regarding the sockets. After typing in my address on the order form, I get the message:
"We've found a phone line at this address that's not being used, but we could easily activate for you. Choose an option below that best describes the main phone socket in your home - this is usually where phone wires enter your home, often in your hall or living room."
Now I am pretty sure that we have BT sockets (will check when I get home), but we haven’t used the main socket for a long time and am unsure as to whether it is damaged or not.
However the internet was working and we could take incoming calls up until we were disconnected, which leads me to believe that there is no damage, and the line simply requires activation). Are there any tests I can perform to ensure that this is the case?
When dialling on the upstairs phone (We always used the upstairs phone exclusively, as the actual phone that was downstairs broke and we never bothered to replace it), we get a robotic voice telling us that the number can not be found. Does this give any indication of the phone lines condition?
Apologies for the extended question, but want to be 100% sure of everything before getting involved in a long term contract.
    Many thanks,
    Dan

  • When is the line activated?

I had the BT engineer come over to connect a new line to my flat. He worked for almost an hour. He gave me my phone number and left.
I need that line for broadband, I'm not planning on using it for the phone. But when I went to order a broadband package, the provider (not BT) told me that they cannot connect it. I'm assuming the line's not active yet.
How long does it take for the line to be activated?

If a line has been recently provided it can take up to 48 hours for BT Wholesale system to be updated.
Your prospective Broadband provider would query this system before accepting the order.

  • Off-Line Activation

I am trying to activate my new CS6 on an off-line computer. The printed material sends me to:"www/adobe.com/go/activation", and the screen directions are to: "Adobe.com/go/getactivated" BUT the first leads to generalized support with no obvious link for my problem and the second link doesn't work. Where am I  REALLY supposed to go? How do I get activated with an off-line computer?
    Thanks,

The following steps should allow you to complete offline activation process:
Go to the Serial Number Validation screen.
Click "Having trouble connecting to the internet."
    Click Offiline Activation.
    Click Generate a Response Code.
    Write down the Request Code.
Goto a online computer and navigate to www.adobe.com/go/getactivated.
    Click Offlice Activation.
SIgn in with their Adobe ID.
Enter their resquest code and click Generate.
    Write down their Response code.
    Goto the offline computer.
Enter the Response Code obtained from the website.
    Click Activate.

  • Line activation confusion

    Hi
I recently moved into a new property with a stopped BT line (dialtone present but unusable for calls). From checking on the BT products website just a few days ago, it seemed to be the case that the line merely needed re-activating - a fairly speedy process incurring no charges.
However, when I eventually went to sign up, the situation had changed. I was now told that the line still needed re-activating, but quoted a £30 new line connection fee (discounted from £130 with 18-month contract).
There is still a dialtone on the phone, so I'm just exasperated that the solution is no longer quick and simple. Has the line been disconnected from the exchange?
    Thanks for any help!
    Matt

    Hi Matt76,
Thanks for the post and welcome to the forum.
It seems that our system is not picking up that the line in your home can be taken over without an engineers visit.  This is why it is prompting a full line provide.  Your phone may well have a dialtone which indicates it is still active.  The only thing that I can think of is that the active service is not owned by us BT Retail.  This means that it would be likely that we will need to arrange an engineer to get you on to service with BT.
Either way I can check this for you.  Please drop me an email to the email address in my profile. (click on my name and you will find the address under the "about me" section). Include your full address including post code and the link to this thread.  I will see what I can find out.

  • Line activation

    Hi,
Just ordered BT line after moving in. Tried with SKY for a month which was a disaster due to them cancelling twice.
So last owners moved out and cancelled a month ago.
Ordered BT yesterday and they say 13th March.
Does anyone know why it takes 2 weeks to activate when its just a takeover of the line and remote activation ?
Also is there any way of speeding this up. We need to order BB afterwards so two weeks to wait on top of 1 month before is 6 weeks without BroadBand. Getting withdrawal !
    thanks in advance !
    M

It does depend what you are requesting....
Suprisingly it isn't always as easy as 'taking over the line' as there could well be physical work required on providing your service. The old occupiers may have taken service with them or been on an LLU circuit etc etc....
10 days is good. About 6 years ago I had to wait 4 weeks for one new provision & 3 months for my second line provision due to lack of copper pairs. On moving back to BT a year or so ago I had a 7 week lead time for the WLR circuit but a 5 day lead time for a Fibre fitting outside and another 7 days for the internal work.
But Fibre is a completely different animal.

  • CS5 on-line activation fails on second computer.

I have been running CS5 for years on my old computer.  Just bought a new laptop.  Still have all CS5 documentation including serial number.  My copy of CS5 is registered with Adobe.  When I loaded CS5 on the new computer and tried to activate it, the activation failed repeatedly.  My purchase agreement states that I can load CS5 on two computers.  Tried to use the phone number for phone activations, but Adobe apparently no longer allows phone activations.  While I have been dealing with this matter, Adobe has somehow apparently downloaded A NEWER (CC?) version of the CS programs onto my new computer.  The icons have all changed, and when I attempt to activate now, the prompt box displays a serial number that is completely different from my CS5 serial number.  I need to talk to a real, live knowledgeable support person from Adobe.

Hi there, I just checked your serial number and can confirm this is not an issue with your activation count. You still have activations remaining.
I do, however, think that there is some confusion on your computer with which version is trying to get activated. To fix this, I recommend running the Cleaner tool: Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 to remove the existing Adobe products and then re-download Design Premium for Windows here: Download CS5 products
It's just like starting from scratch to prevent version confusion...please let me know how this goes!
    Thanks,
    Madison

  • I just need the line activated!

I registered for a home move on saturday, it said that because I have all of the equipment and there is a line in my new flat already, that they would just activate it on the 1st of October. I received an email today telling me that I would have an engineer out to isntall my new service on the 19th of November... nearly 2 months away. I called BT and they said they would just try and move my installation sooner, and would call me back.
last time I moved with this service I moved onto a line that hadn't been used in 8 years, and there was no problem although they couldnt transfer Infinity as the line wasn't new enough. It took them 1.5 weeks to transfer my service, they didn't come out and instead did it all from their service centre, by literally just turning the line back on.
This time I have the same situation, but instead they believe they are sending me new equipment (which I already have), as well as sending an engineer to turn it on. Again, last time I moved they said that they were sending an engineer but didnt bother to tell me that he wouldnt actually be coming because they wouldnt need to be at the property (one day of full work out of the window for nothing).
They speciifically told me when I requested the home move that it would be the 1st of October, only to email me today saying I had to wait 2 months.
What do I do? I need it for all work purposes. As does my partner. I have the equipment already, I have the line, I just need them to flick the switch on. Why do I have to wait 2 months for that?
I have tried to be polite on the phone with the people I have talked to. I'm not sure how long I can keep up the understanding tone for...

  • Moving Home, line still active in another name.

I am moving home and trying to have a phone line connected. However, BT say that the phone line is still 'active' at the premises and the previous occupant will have to be contacted to have the line deactivated. Here's the rub, the previous occupant died some 3 months ago. BT refuse to have the line deactivated simply on mine or my landlords say so and that only a relative of the deceased can authorise them to deactivate. Another however, they are quite willing to 'transfer' the line to my name providing I take out a 12 month contract with them. How is this possible? If they can't deactivate the line, how are they able to transfer it to me providing if I take out a contract with them? This sounds very much like restrictive practice and I would like some advice on the matter.

    Hi chrisjpr
BT can't just deactivate a line they can however apply for a transfer like most providers so if the line is active in someone elses name or with another provider then your order is progressed as a working line takeover ,BT or whatever provider you choose to go with will attempt to take over and notify the occupier if any and if after 11-14 days they don't reply the line is taken over into your name, this is standard process so not BTs fault,if the person is deceased BT can't just take a 3rd partys word for it unless a authorized person acting onbehalf of the account holder calls to notify BT to advise of the deceased and request the line be ceased, they have to go down the proper channels and allow the lead time set by the regulator that said it is unfortunate that the person is deceased but your 11-14 day lead time for having a line active/transfered in your name is nothing in comparison to the previous occupant being deceased, puts things in prospective I say, bite the bullet my friend and wait
