my BT Mighty Mouse become skippy when MacPro running intensive applications. Example, I was editing my photos with Aperture while I launch Visual Hub to convert a divx to Apple TV H.264, the mouse point become very skippy or sluggish. when Visual Hub complete the encoding the mouse is back to normal. is this an interfance or cause by running the CPU too hard?
I'm going through the same "issue" actually so I hope I can save you some time.
It's a grounding issue. You can experiment:
- Touch your Mac Pro system while you're moving the mouse, or;
- Touch your keyboard while moving the mouse
If the mouse calms down and doesn't try to escape , then you have the source of the problem.
I've read a lot of discussions on this, with people replacing their mice constantly, and even doing a full re-install. So if the above works, then your solution is in figuring out how to deal with the ground-ing problem.
What's more surprising is that Apple hasn't addressed this (it seems) for some time now. With all the gyrations customers go through, you'd think there would have been some type of solution (a recall perhaps?).

I have just installed iTunes for the first time. When I run the application I get a "iTunes not working" message. Operating system Vista (32 bit). I have tried reinstalling with all firewalls off, but still no success. Have other people had this problem?

Date format becomes incorrect when you run check option on portal
Hi,
We have a report which has Date variable in selection screen. When we enter selection as interval and then when we click on Check option before executing the report, the date format becomes garbage.
Here is an example:
This is what I enter in Date variable :
Date : 01/01/2001-01/01/2010
After that when I click on CHECK option, the system automatically converts the first date into garbage value i.e. 01/01/2001 will be converted to 1//20/01/0
This only happens when we run report in Portal 7.0 When we try to run similar report using default web template of BW 3.5, it works fine.
Has anybody faced similar problem ? We are on Portal Java SP13 with Patch 6.

I have used the SimpleDateFormat for formatting with the pattern as, "MM/dd/yyyy" and it is working fine if user enters 4 digit year.
However, for a entry with 2 digits for a year e.g. 04/10/07 when i parse the date using SimpleDateFormat,it is giving me date as 04/10/0007.
Is there a way by means of which i could force the user to enter 4 digits for the year?
I have tried using dateStyle attribute of <af:convertDateTime> tag with 'shortish' as its value, it converts a 2 digit year into 4digit on the browser side & displays on the screen e.g. if user enters 04/10/07 it will appear as 04/10/2007 on the screen however, in value change listener method, i could see date as 04/10/0007.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

Keyboard plus mouse become sluggish when phone connects
Both my keyboard and mouse become extremely sluggish whenever my phone connects via bluetooth i have a w800 i am running 10.4.3 also they remain sluggish even after i disconnect my phone and turn my phone off.
Based on the information you provided, the radio signals may be conflicting or there maybe issues with the ports that are being used.
If the signals are conflicting you can try using a different port, using wired devices, or moving the wireless devices away from each other.
Also try these steps below:
Update your Mac at http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n106704 to Mac OS X 10.4.6 or later, if you haven't already done so.
Install the Apple Keyboard Update 1.0 at http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/applekeyboardupdate10.html using Software Update http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n106704 or by downloading it from the link above.
If you've updated to Mac OS X 10.4.7 or later, you DO NOT need the Apple Keyboard Update 1.0. (If the keyboard or mouse becomes unresponsive, you may be able to unplug it and plug it back in to restore functionality until any needed updates have been installed.)

I think I've found a solution.... Though I'm a bit reluctant to post it already because I'd really like to see if it works over time... Anyway, here is the interesting post I found by Mr. Caliostro:
... sure, go into your Airport Utility application, inside Utilities inside Applications. Click on Manual Setup when your TC appears in the window. Click on the Wireless tab. You will find a pulldown menu there called Channel. Select your channel & Update your TC settings. I set mine to channel 1 to try it, & it made a tiny improvement. How close is your TC to your mac? Does the interference reduce if you ove further away? Perhaps swapping from 802.11g/n to 802.11n or vice-versa, may help? (depending if your setup can work on 11n-only). Perhaps switching from 2.5ghz to 5ghz or vice-versa may help? both 11n & 11g can work at 5ghz as well as 2.5ghz... Let me know how you go!
I set the 5GHz channel to 48 and the 2.4GHz to 1. Of course I changed these settings completely randomly since I don't know anything about these things but it actually seems to work pretty fine! No more sluggish mouse during Time Capsule back ups! -
Mighty Mouse works but doesn't grab within applications
I have been a happy and privileged user of Apple products for many years now, I just upgraded to Snow Leopard and suddenly my wireless mighty mouse went funny on us. It moves around, you can grab programs and go into main menu but when you're in the application or menu...it doesn't grab and do what it is supposed to do. I have two wireless mice...both do the same. Changed the batteries as well...same thing. Re-installed software driver...no difference, Rebooted Bluetooth...no result either, did not find anything within preferences either. Called Apple Technical center who was unable to help. Has anyone experienced similar experience and eventually found a solution? Thanks in advance

Welcome to the discussion board!! If you've recently converted to Snow Leopard you might want to double check the mouse settings in System Preferences > Mouse.
For the Mighty Mouse setting the left side to "primary button" and the right side to "secondary button" is probably what you are use to.
Make sure the "double-click" slider is not set too fast. That might be why you can't "grab" anything. Set the slider no more than 3/4 up to fast. A slower setting might serve you better.

What happnes when we run any Application Engine Process
Hi All,
I have been trying to find the exact flow after we run application engine program either from PIA or from command line and got few resources also which explain what happnes behind the scene but due to mix explanations I am still not clear about it.
Could any one please explain in steps the flow behind the scene after we run a application engine?
To be more specific, Like when we run it, the process name along with other parameters(runcontrol, sessionid, process intance) must be written into some table and then Process monitor displays that process and updates its status frequenlty.....

I run the application in a computer without measurement studio because my application is stored in a web server and I access to the application downloading it from a web page of that server.
Have you included the lpk file with your control? I've attached the tool you'll need and here is a nice link that goes thru it step by step.

I have LabVIEW 2013 SP1 (32-bit) installed on 64bit machine everything was fine untill i tried to create an installer for my LV application the install build finishes with no error but when i try to test the installer i get the following error:
My installer includes the NI LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 2013 SP1, and my application excutalbe runs fine with no errors. at this point i have no idea what is causing this error and i couldn't find any asnwer in the forum that can help so any hint will be appreciated.

1. I created a new fresh project and added the files to to it and built the executable and installed from it.
2. I reinstalled the windows installed as it was suggested here
3. I also tried editing the project file using Notepad by removing the build informaiton and started fresh with new build.

Arch completely freezes when I run certain applications
Arch completely freezes when I open Steam or when I attempt to play a YouTube video. They will open, but shortly thereafter Arch will freeze entirely and the only solution is to hold down the power button on my computer.

As for the problems with the Nvidia drivers, I have no idea. Although, after a quick search on Google, I've found that apparently I'm not the only one with similar issues.

EDIT: I now have the Nvidia drivers installed. I used a patch that I found deep within the Nvidia forums. Now I'm going to try the applications out to see if they work.

A network related or instance specific error when I run VS2005 application
I am new to programming, I am a system and network engineer so not much understanding in coding. I have an application which has been created in VS2005 .net which has an sql database. The SQL server version is 2000 which is running on Windows 2003 serer.
This application is running fine on existing Windows XP machines. But I have tried to installed on new Windows XP, 7 and 8 PC's but all the clients getting error "A network related or instance specific error.........error 40 could not open a connection
to SQL server. I have tried to connect the sql server with an UDL file and I can connect successfully. Also installed VS2005 and able to connect the SQL server successfully but some reason the application cannot connect to the sql server. My exe.config connection
