BT Mouse won't connect at all

I've had my BT mac mouse for almost 1 year now. At first, it worked just fine. Then, it started losing connection, and I would have to go to Set up Bluetooth Device on the little BT icon on my menu bar in order to get it to re-pair with the computer. As time went on, it disconnected more frequently. Now, it won't even connect. The search recognizes it, but just spins it's wheel when the Passkey is trying to exchange until I cancel it. The mouse does the flash, flash, pause, but it stops after a few minutes. I've already replaced the batteries twice. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kimi

Hello kimi:
Welcome to Apple discussions.
It may be that the mouse is faulty. If you are near an Apple store, you could take it in to have them check it out. Alternatively, you could also call Applecare and indicate you have a warranty issue (hardware is warranted for a year). They probably will send you a replacement.

  • My magic mouse won't connect to Yosemite 10.10.2 I've tried 2 different mice with the same outcome.

I have an early 2013 MBP with Yosemite 10.10.2. Connectivity with the magic mouse has steadily gotten worse, now it won't connect at all. I've tried connecting with two different mice, one about 5 years old and one about 2 years old, both with the same result. Any one else have this issue?

  • Charger won't connect in all the way.

Hey, I have a fifth generation ipod touch. The charger won't connect in all the way. Plus it won't charge at all. I don't remember doing anything to it at all. My dad is usually the one that charges it for me in the morning. Do you think he put the usb the wrong way and forced it. I'm not sure why it's like this. I had a warranty thing. I never filled it out is it to late? I just got this about a few months ago.

    Plug into what?
The iPod? The Ligntning connector plugs into theiPod ither way.
    A USB port?

  • HT1695 I just bought an iphone and an ipad, the ipad connects to my BT Homehub fine but my phone won't connect at all.. any suggestions?

I just bought an iphone and an ipad, the ipad connects to my BT Homehub but my phone won't connect at all. The phone has connected to other networks fine... any suggestions?

When and where was the iPad/charger purchased? It's covered by a 1-year warranty.
The problem may be the USB cable.

  • First BT keyboard, now BT mouse, won't connect

Yesterday my Apple BT keyboard wouldn't connect. Flashing green light on kb. Changed batteries, no difference. Deleted pairing. When creating new pairing, it sees the keyboard but can't receive the pairing code. I read the forum here, figured I wasn't alone and that there'd be a fix reported here shortly, and decided to be patient.
This morning my Apple BT mouse also won't connect. Deleted the existing pairing, but it won't connect to create a new one. Both mouse and keyboard are about 18mths old. It's not batteries or battery contacts - both are in good condition.
I'm running Apple Bluetooth Software Version:     1.6.0f2 on Mac OS X 10.4.2 (8C46)
    Halp!

    Hi Alan:
I had a similar problem (once) with my BT keyboard. I tried all the trouble shooting things but it got to the point where it gave me a code but then would not accept it. Here is what I tried (may or may not have 'fixed' the problem. I shut my computer down. I unplugged all USB devices (this is a workaround for a missing BT - not your issue). I walked away for awhile. I restarted, repaired the devices (the keyboard code was accepted, and the problem has not returned).
As I said, I have no idea why this worked - and I do not believe in magic!
I do not think both devices would be faulty - although anything is possible.

  • Apple Magic Mouse won't connect

I have a magic mouse and it won't connect to my macbook pro retina display. I dont know where there is a file i need to delete and if i need to do that where and how do I find it. Thank you.

Be sure Bluetooth is turned on.
Has the mouse been connected to something else?  If so, it needs to be deleted from that device first.

  • Mighty mouse won't connect after reboot

    Hi all,
I updated my ~3 month old Mac Pro with the latest security update on 11/13/2009, and went home for the weekend. Returning on Monday 11/16/2009, I found that my mighty mouse would not connect to the Mac. I'd had intermittent connection issues previously, so I rebooted to no avail. Investigating further, I found that if I click on the Bluetooth menu and select the mighty mouse and click Connect, the Bluetooth icon flashes to connected briefly then back to unconnected. I can repeat this ad nauseum with no success. If I go into Mouse preferences and select Set Up Bluetooth Mouse, and then turn the mighty mouse off and then on to initiate pairing, the setup window will find the mouse. I then click Continue and it attempts to connect, but on the first try it always fails. If I then repeat the discovery and connection process again, it will pair successfully. After that the mouse works normally. However if I reboot my machine, the pairing is lost when Mac OS comes back up. This always happens with the mighty mouse, and maybe 50% of the time when I perform the same procedure with my wireless keyboard. I then have to go through the semi-successful pairing process again. I've tried various fixes including deleting the com.apple.Bluetooth.plist and rebooting, but nothing has solved this. This also happens if I try to use a magic mouse I bought for my Macbook Pro on the Mac Pro. I haven't had any bluetooth problems on the laptop.
This was addressed in another post but the original user marked it as answered after Apple had him pair the mouse with another computer and then with the first. Tried that too, doesn't work for me.

    Hello d:
Try making the BT devices "favorites."
Go to system preferences>bluetooth. Highlight the device. Click on the little gear and "show more info." Click on the gear again and make the device a favorite.

  • Mouse won't connect.

Hi. My wireless "Mighty Mouse" will not connect to my Macbook. Please respond A.S.A.P. Thank you.

    Hi Noam,
Open System Preferences/Bluetooth and delete the mouse from the Devices window. Restart your Mac.
Close the slider on the back of the mouse. Restart your Mac, open the slider on the back of the mouse. Open System Preferences/Bluetooth and re-pair the mouse and see if that helps.
Check the battery levels. System Preferences/Keyboard&Mouse and click Bluetooth. When it gets down to one green tab on the left, time to change batteries. You CAN use rechargeable batteries.
Make sure interference isn't the issue. http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/tutorials/article.php/1379911
I can't have my TV remote (not Bluetooth) within 3' of my wireless MM. Completely disables it.

  • Wireless Mighty Mouse won't connect with MacBook Pro in Bootcamp

I recently swapped my Bootcamp-partitioned hard drive from an older Core Duo MacBook to a late-2007 Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro.  I had no problem using the wireless mouse with the MacBook.  I'd click on the Windows desktop once it booted up and it worked flawlessly.
But on the newer MacBook Pro it won't stay connected.  I have to pair it with the Windows Bluetooth control panel each time I log in.
I'm not sure if this is connected to the issue or not, but I'm not able to use the trackpad and buttons on the MacBook Pro keyboard either.
I've seached the discussions without any success.  Advice anyone?
    Thanks in advance.
    Patrick

Well, by some stroke of dumb luck it finally connected. I slid the on/off switch open until the green light started to blink, when the mouse connected I opened it all the way and decided to work.

  • Mouse won't connect, 2 flashes

Anyone know what it means when the mouse flashes twice, pause, twice etc?
My Apple BT mouse has worked flawlwssly with my 12" PB for 2+ years, now all of a sudden it refuses to connect - new batteries, on-off, clicky click click, the most i can get out of it is occasionally it looks like it's connected for a second then the PB says 'connection lost' and it goes back to the 2 flashes, pause, 2 flashes. The problems happen to coincide with setting up a BT headset on the machine last week, but would that really cause an issue? Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

    Hello niccas:
Since the only variable seems to be the BT headset, I suspect you have identified the cause of your connection problem. This Apple help information explains that the blinking pattern indicates the mouse is discoverable:

  • I updated to iTunes 10.5 and now my 3GS won't connect at all!!

Is there any solution to this? I updated iTunes 10.5, restarted my computer and device. Removed and reinstalled iTunes 10.5, restarted all devices and still nothing. iTunes will operate fine as long as I do not connect my phone. As soon as I do, it starts attempting a connection and then freezes up, spinning candy! Any advice?

The same for me: iphone 3gs with itunes 10.5 (on OSX Lion). Connecting the iphone the software hangs until I disconnect the iphone. I tried to wait even 30 minutes but nothing changes. Either I force iTunes to quit or I disconnect the iphone and iTunes goes on working correctly. I updated the software with the latest version, restart both iPhone (pressing both buttons) and my iMac. I also reinstalled iTunes. Nothing has changed.
Hope and wait for a solution...

  • Keyboard and mouse won't connect to iMac

This morning, I suddenly lost connection between my 27' iMac and the wireless magic mouse. I had just scavenged a pair of batteries from a remote control the other day and while I wasn't notified of low batteries this morning, I assumed those new batteries must be dead. So I replaced them with shiny new ones and.....nothing. Using keyboard navigation, I tried to re-connect but nothing would work. My next step was a restart. This is where the computer lost the keyboard. So, again, I replaced the batteries in the keyboard and went through the initial bluetooth setup assistant procedure when trying to restart without a keyboard. It would find the keyboard, connect to it and then immediately loose it. I never got enough time to enter the password confirmation the setup procedure gives you. I found an old wired keyboard and mouse and got logged in and I've been playing around with the bluetooth setup assistant with no luck. Both the mouse and keyboard go into "discoverable" mode when turned on (blinking green light) and the assistant sees them but will not connect. For the keyboard I get the message "the pairing attempt was unsuccessful. This configuration of Mac OS X and Bluetooth software could be invalid or unsupported." I'm running 10.6.7, update as prompted and haven't done anything out of the ordinary on this machine recently.
    Any ideas?

    Paul,
I don't think you did anything wrong.  I think it was just "one of those things".  Things should be OK now.
Give a shout if they aren't.

  • HP wireless USB mouse won't connect.

I have an HP wireless mouse that uses a battery and USB to connect. It connects fine with my Windows but can't be found with my Macbook Pro. Any suggestions? Thank you.

It still doesn't connect. I plug the USB into the port, switch the mouse to "on" and then hit the connect button. Then a light on the mouse, below the scroll wheel, blinks orange.
Have you tried new batteries in the mouse?
Have you tried putting the receiver in the other USB port? Along with new batteries in the mouse?
Could be the USB port you have the receiver plugged into does not properly power the receiver.

  • My third party keyboard and mouse won't connect to my MacBook Pro

I recently purchased an Insignia keyboard and mouse combo. I'm trying to connect them to my MacBook Pro and they refuse to respond. On the box and online it said that this combo was Mac compatible. I am running OSX 10.9.4.

Sorry i should have mentioned that; i already have installed the drivers. I have the little boot camp console thingy and the display became to the right resolution after installing the drivers, so i know i have. Its something else, Windows based i think.
