BT pairing with Garmin Nuvi 2310

Hi everyone
BB Curve 8520 v5.0.01036 - BT v1.1
Garmin Nuvi 2310 - BT v5
This is my first BB, I wish I bought one years ago.  Its great.
I do have a problem pairing with my satnav.  The satnav turns off once the connection is made.  I have read other posts but nothing refers to the Curve 8520.
One post said the the different versions of BT could be the problem?  I have emailed Garmin to see if they can supply an older version of their firmware for BT.  Does anyone know if the BT version can be updated on the BB?  Both the Garmin and BB have been updated using their software/websites.
Any help on this is appreciated, Allan.

I have a new 8520 and a Nuvi 660 which I've had a couple of years. Paired easily with no problem IRO using the Nuvi as a handsfree device in the car.
The Nuvi is running BT sw 3.4. and the BB same as yours.

  • Problems Pairing with Garmin Nuvi 265W

Bought a new Garmin Nuvi 265W GPS. Set the unit up. It paired immediately with iPhone and worked without issue. Then as a last step in the setup I registered the Nuvi with Garmin. Big mistake. During the registration Garmin wrote something to the Nuvi and toasted the iPhone pairing. Unit goes into an on/off do loop. Resetting and restoring doesn't help. Unpaired the iPhone and deleted it from the Nuvi so at least it's back working. Garmin doesn't know why what they write during the registration process causes the problem and said there is no way to go back. I've got V2.2 on my iPhone. Anybody have a similar problem and know of a work around to get the pairing to work again?

I bought a Garmin 265WT recently and could pair my iPhone 1st generation to the unit but it would constantly reboot the Garmin unit. After reading all the support forums and upgrading to the latest software releases on both my iPhone and Garmin 265WT
I could not get the problem resolved running the below software/firmware:
    iPhone 2.2 and 2.2.1
Garmin 4.8 with Bluetooth Firmware 1.7
I finally called Garmin and they shipped me another unit. The new unit worked without any problems even with older software and firmware. Seems as if the reboot problem might be more than just software and firmware related.
My iphone at this point is running 2.2.1 but the below software and firmware revisions of the new Garmin 265WT worked:
The new unit came with software:
    Software Version 4.40
    GPS SW Version 2.38b
    Bluetooth SW Version 1.65
This worked no problem with bluetooth. No reboots....
    I even upgraded to:
    Software Version 5.0
    Bluetooth SW Version 1.7
The unit still worked no problem. I can only suspect the issue here is hardware related in some cases. So for some people the upgraded software/firmware may work. But if you are running both iPhone 2.2.1 (1st Gen Phone) and the latest software and Bluetooth firmware and still have the problem I would call Garmin and have them replace the unit.

  • Problems pairing with Garmin Nuvi 1310 sat nav

I have been trying to connect to a Garmin Nuvi 1310 sat nav. It set up first time, however when I switch off the sat nav and then turn it back on my phone will not connect automatically. I have to remove it from the list on the Garmin and start all over again. Surely this can't be right, my old iPhone re-connected automatically everytime. Is there a setting I need to adjust?

  • 1.1.3 Update Doesn't Work with Garmin Nuvi

I have been using my iPhone with a Garmin nuvi 680. So far it has worked very well as a hands-free speaker, that is untill last night when I upgraded to 1.1.3. Since the upgrade my Bluetooth connection to the nuvi is shot. I get an initial connection, but every minute or two it warns me that my phone has been disconnected. You can imagine that this gets quite old after a dozen or so warnings.
I have unpaired my iPhone and paired it again to no avail. I have reset the iPhone and I will try again. What else should I try?

I restored my iPhone last night and reloaded my latest backup. That didn't fix the problem at all. Next I am going to try restoring and starting from scratch. Maybe that will work better.
What I am thinking I'll do is do a clean restore, no backup just a new 1.1.3 iPhone and then test the Bluetooth with the nuvi. If that works, then I'll load all my info back to the phone manually. If it doesn't I'll restore the backup and wait for a fix.

  • Bluetooth with Garmin Nuvi 670

When trying to activate Bluetooth capability on my Nuvi 670, I get the following message.
Please set your Bluetooth phone to 'Find Me/Discoverable' mode.
In searching the help screens for the iPhone, I cannot find how to set my iPhone to this mode. Can anyone help me?

    Hey RMUNSON01,
Going to the Settings> General> Bluetooth makes the iPhone discoverable.

  • IPhone and Garmin Nuvi 660 pair!

Thought I would mention that the iPhone successfully pair with the Garmin Nuvi 660 via Bluetooth, AND all of the address book entries (including multiple numbers) gets transferred to the Nuvi for use. Great feature to dial while on the road without even taking the iPhone out....

I have not had any problems; I get in-and-out of the car and each time the two devices have successfully paired. I once turned off BT for a while in the iPhone but had no problems when I turned it back on and then later got in the car to go somewhere. I keep my Nuvi plugged in all the time -- maybe that makes a difference? Do you unplug your Nuvi when leaving the car and then replug it when starting out again?

  • 6110 paired with Nuvi 660

    Hi All,
I have had the nuvi for some time and have been through many nokia phones with it. My problem is my new 6110 will work as a hands free but will not let me access my phone book or messages. They are connected via bluetooth.
I found a link on the euro web site that provided a contact manager to solve the issue with other phiones but I can't find one for the 6110. Any assistance greatly appreciated. I am constantly in the car and this feature is very important to me and I also like the phone and don't wanna have to return it.
    Cheers
    Rob

     UPDATED FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS
Incoming Calls to my Treo are displayed on the nuvi as three lines. The first line displayed is the message "Incoming Call", the second line displayed is the complete phone number, the third line displayed are two blue buttons, one says "Ignore" the others says "Answer". When I touch "Answer" the nuvi display changes back to previous display (Map, menu, etc) then there is a click through it's speaker as if it is hanging up, but the phone call is not answered. As the Treo continues to either ring or vibrate and display incoming call, the nuvi will change back to it's Incoming Call display with the options to Ignore or Answer but with the same results. This continues until the Treo displayed Missed Call message.
PS I have also reported this issue with Garmin and will cross post on AT&T forums

  • Would a rear view camera work with a garmin nuvi GPS

If I buy a garmin nuvi with Bluetooth would a Bluetooth rear view car camera work with it.

Only a few garmin models allow a back up camera to be connected. Check the link below for what garmins have this option.
    https://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId=%7B22ca4500-2009-11df-d1b4-000000...
The Garmin 760LMT is the only one I could find on BestBuy.com that has this options.

You will also need a cable and a back up camera for it to work.

  • Blutooth turns off after pairing with GPS

I am able to pair my iPhone with the Garmin nuvi 265WT and connect successfully between GPS and phone. However, about 15-20 seconds after pairing, bluetooth on the iPhone turns off momentarily (2-3 seconds) then turns back on but the GPS loses connection with the iPhone. With one exception, this happens evertime I again attempt to pair the devices.
I have the recent iPhone update and the iPhone is on the nuvi's approved list of compatible phones. Anyone having the same issues or suggested fix? Thanks!
    Cliff

I can suggest a work-around that appears to work with my nuvi 765t and iPhone 3G. After pairing has been successful, make sure the phone is turned on and in bluetooth discovery mode. BEFORE you turn on the nuvi 765T. Mine will reconnect in that instance. To me it suggests that the problem lies with the iPhone 3G and its discovery mode. Because of the God awful battery life issues with the iPhone 3G I am guessing they do not allow the phone to stay in Bluetooth discovery mode.
It's odd, however, because the iPhone 3G same phone will link every time with my nuvi 680 without having to go through the mickey mouse stuff. Why not just use the same Bluetooth firmware in the 765t as you have in the 680?

  • MBP Bluetooth connection to Garmin nuvi

    Good morning, everyone!
I am trying to figure out if it is possible to pair my MBP (C2D) with my Garmin nuvi 660 gps unit. Rather, I've been able to pair the two devices, but the nuvi expects to be paired to a phone, so it doesn't recognise the MBP or any files I try to send. Basically, I want to be able to send image files and mp3's to the nuvi.
Does anyone have any ideas on this? (I've also posted this question on a couple of gps boards.)
    Thanks!

I have the same problem. I think that neither of the companies have the will to solve this issue.  I have always been a fan of Nokia, so this is really disappointing.

  • Accessing Txt from Garmin Nuvi GPS fails

I have a W508 and I am using it in the car with a Garmin Nuvi 300 GPS.  Originally it worked fine.  But now, the GPS freezes every time a new txt arrives.  It starts to access the phone and then just hangs.
    Any ideas anyone ?

I figured that it might be the number/size of messages as well.  So, I deleted almost all of them (except 7).
Now it fetches everything.  The twist is that it displays messages I have already deleted.  It will not display new ones that come in.  How the heck can it display deleted messages ?  I am guessing that either its accessing the sim (which may still have them) or they are saved in the gps.  I will try refreshing the sdcard followed by pairing/unpairing.
    Thanks

  • IPhone and Garmin Nuvi GPS

Besides my Motorolla headset, I managed to pair my iPhone to my Garmin Nuvi 360 GPS with no problems. This particular Nuvi model as well as some other Garmin models have Bluetooth built in. The benefits of this device is that besides the wonderful Nuvi GPS features, the device is also a car kit with speaker and microphone. What I found quite remarkable was that during the pairing, the entire phonebook I have on my iPhone came over as well. So, when someone on that list calls, their name comes up on the touch screen. Or if you want to call someone, either click through or search the directory on the Garmin. Very cool.
    Powerbook   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

iPhone works with my Garmin Nuvi 360 via bluetooth, downloaded address book and all, but after a day or two the connection stops working (iPhone says they’re paired, but Nuvi doesn’t show phone icon) and I have to manually set up the connection again. Anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks.

  • Palm Pre and Garmin Nuvi 765T

I have a Garmin Nuvi 765T and am trying to pair the pre with it.  However, the Garmin can see the pre but connection fails.  The garmin attempts, I guess, to use the passkey 1234 but the 2 never connects.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

I also have a Pre and as you mentioned, the Garmin sees the Pre but cannot pair (the pre never asks for pascode (1234) input.  It worked flawlessly on my Samsung Instinct.  The address book was transfered nicely!
Interestingly, I started with a 265WT and it synced with the Pre w/o problems.

  • IPhone with Garmin Zumo 550

For those unfamiliar, the Garmin Zumo 550 is a motorcycle oriented GPS unit that offers an "all-in-one" interface including bluetooth to a cellphone so you can make/receive calls from the Zumo interface.
Good news! The Zumo connected to the iPhone and paired with it via bluetooth. The make/receive calls from the Zumo (using the iPhone as a gateway obviously) works great. AND, the Zumo retrieves the Address Book from the iPhone in realtime, so you can browse it from the Zumo. Interesting note - when looking at a contact with multiple phone numbers on the Zumo (remember, this is simply talking to the iPhone in real-time - not stored on Zumo), it will show a contact and say "2 phone numbers", so when you click the person's name, it then shows the various numbers with appropriate "mobile", "work", "home" icons!
    Awesome!!

When a call comes in, does the iPhone send the caller ID information over bluetooth to the Zumo, in order to display it on the GPS screen? Would seem handy to be able to "screen calls" on the GPS without necessarily having to have two devices within eyesight, especially when on a pocket rocket.
I love my Garmin 378 (large GPS for auto and marine, but alas, no bluetooth), so I might be interested in the Zumo depending on what else it supported re: the iPhone. Thanks for the "heads up" (pardon the semi-pun).

  • E65 and Garmin Nuvi 215

    Hi y'all
I just bought a Nuvi 215 which i love - first proper gps and i dont know how I
    lived without before!
I have got 2 problems regarding connecting with my E65
    1) I cant get the phonebook/contacts on my phone to show on the nuvi.
I have searched the forum for solutions - I cant get my phone to send the
marked cantacts to the gps - i get 'sending failed' message on the phone.
Have tried downloading the 810 contact app but it is in a permanent state of 'processing'...
2)When I hang up a call on the nuvi the volume has been reduced to
almost nothing even though its still on the 70% on the volume menu.
This also happens when the phone first pairs with the gps, and seems to
do it at random times too.
    Any help will be appreciated!
    thanks,
