Did you already try to reset the iPod by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data.
If this does not work, try to reset the network settings in Settings/General/Reset. After that you'll have to put in the passwords for all known networks again.

Hello my battery power has a x on it and the lights are not working and its making a noise - Please assist

The Battery icon with the "X" indicates that your computer does not detect a battery and is operating on electrical power from AC since your computer is plugged in. If your battery is installed but not detected that indicates a problem: 1. the battery is dead; 2. the battery connector is not functioning properly. You mention that there is no response from the indicator lights so it could be either of the two possibilities. The noise is not a good sign. Best to shut it down safely while you can to prevent any possibility of damage and get it to an Apple Genius Bar or Authorized Apple Service Provider to discover the nature of the problem

I have two computers (1 PC and 1 iMac) and one iphone, the PC and the iphone are synchronized but I cannot copy or sync the contents to the iMac. How can I copy the contents? Can I connect the PC to the iMac so that I can use the PC as a hard-disk? Will that affect the system to work smoothly?
    Thanks

  • I have a new Epson wireless printer connected and the iPad recognizes it but it won't print. What is AirPrint and how do I connect it?

I have a new Epson wireless printer connected and the iPad recognizes it but it still won't print.  What is AirPrint & how do I connect to it?

    Patti-
Is your Epson printer on Apple's list of AirPrint capable printers?  See <http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356>.
If it is an AirPrint printer, then your WiFi router may not correctly handle Bonjour data required by AirPrint.  Contact the router's manufacturer to see if there is a change to its setup or a firmware update, that will make it work.
One other possibility is that there could be a print job stuck in the iPad's print queue.  Double click the iPad's Home button and a row of recent Apps will appear along the bottom of the screen.  Scroll across and see if the Print Center is there.

  • My Mac Mini was not sending a signal to the monitor. I powered down using the power button and now it will not start. When i power up I get a strange 2 tone sound, like a warning alarm. The fan starts, and the light comes on, but no screen

My Mac Mini was not sending a signal to the monitor. I powered down using the power button and now it will not start. When i power up I get a strange 2 tone sound, like a warning alarm. The fan starts, and the light comes on, but no screen.
I have tried with a wired USB keyboard and mouse using a single screen. Powered up with option pressed. No change.
    Reset SMC  no change

Run the Apple hardware test to see what it tells you. Run the extended test when prompted, which can take awhile.

  • My macbook won't turn on, it makes a whirring noise like it wants to turn on, and the light is there, but won't turn on. What could this be?

When I turn my computer (which is an older 2009 macbook pro) on it makes a whirring sound like it wants to turn on, and the light flashes, but the screen and everything else will not turn on. It is fully charged. What could this possibly be? And if its something I can buy to fix, how much money may it cost me?

    If you are confident enough
make sure you are not wearing anything that generates static, ground yourself or at least touch a radiator or something that goes to earth to remove any static discharge
    remove the bottom casing/cover
disconnect the battery which should just be a plug into the main logic board (some MBP's have a shield over the battery connector)
Whilst the battery is disconnected - presss and hold the power button for 5 seconds or so to reset the SMC
Remove both RAM modules if present and reseat them
then temporarily replace the botom case/cover without screwing it on and test
If that does not resolve the issue, try one RAM module at a time in each RAM slot

  • The lights are on but there's nobody at home

I have a BT Home Hub 2.0 which is three years old and has largely been OK.  In the last week or so the broadband has stopped working maybe 5 or 6 times a day.  The blue light is on but there's no broadband either to our hard-wired desktop or to the wireless devices.  I have to re-set the hub in order to re-establish the connection.  Twice I have had to re-set the hub more than once in order to re-establish the connection.  Phone line is fine and filters are all new.  Any ideas?

  • Software update says not connected to the internet...but I am!!

Can anyone help me please? whenever I try to use Software Update (from either the apple menu or System Prefs-network) I get a prompt saying I am not connected to the internet, but I am as I can launch Safari.
The prompt also asks if I want to run a diagnostic on the network, if I accept and follow the instructions I get a window saying there is nothing wrong with my connection.
Why can this be? Can anyone throw some light on this for me?
    Many thanks, Robert

  • Brand New Satellite L55 Laptop - The Lights are on But Nobody is Home - Help!

I bought a Toshiba L55A5385 15 Laptop about a week ago. I opened it up and other than finding the new Win8 interface a little annoying, everything seemed to work fine. I transferred a ton of files onto it from my old laptop over the course of a few days and everything seemed fine.
I am currently on a "vacation". I decided to bring both my old laptop and the new Toshiba so I could get used to the new one and make sure I had everything transferred over. I took it out of my suitcase, attached the power supply cord and opened the lid. I pressed the power button and it lit up like normal, but nothing EVER flashed on the screen. It is black. Not a peep. Like it's not even attached. So, lights on, but unusable.
I spent a couple hours googling and I found a quite a few threads that looked like they could be the same issue, but none of them had definitive answers. I HOPING that someone here can help me. PLEASE tell me I didn't buy a piece of crap!  (My first Toshiba)

See picture on how to reset for models that have an internal battery.
Tech support phone number is here : 1-800-457-7777 they just need model and serial number when you call.

  • The lights are on but nobody is home

ok so i booted up my iBook the other day to find this problem, all the spiffy lights come on and i get the chime, the screen is lit up but nothing really happens.. i leave it for a while and i get an icon in the middle of the screen. I've tried the OS X discs but they spin up but don't boot.
    http://www.monkey-junkie.com/stuff/DSC01020.JPG
that's a piccy of the icon. Any ideas on what is wrong and what is my next action?
    Thanks

    Papayafreak:
Command, Option, P, and R is the correct combination. Sorry
However, I am glad that you heard the chimes.
which did make it chime again and holding option made it go to a page with a refresh buttons and a next button, neither of which did anything.
If not boot volume icons appeared on the screen, it means that your boot volume is too badly corrupted to boot the computer. It may even indicate that you HDD is failing.
the disc doesn't boot up when i try, just the same thing.
You noted the above in an earlier post. Did you mean that you are unable to boot from the install disk or the internal HDD? If you are able to boot from the install disk, I would suggest trying to Repair Disk. If you are not able to boot from the install disk try the procedure outlined in the article Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck.
In addition, if you do not have an up-to-date backup, we need to take care of that before proceeding much further.
    Good luck.

  • Why isn't my mouse opening anything when I click on it? It's moving around and the batteries are fine but it's not opening anything!

My mouse is not working with my computer. The batteries are good. The cursor arrow will move where I want it but when I click, nothing happens! Ugh! Is it thecomputer or the mouse? How can I fix it if the mouse doesn't work?

I was having all kinds of crazy mouse and trackpad problems after installing Lion.Reset PRAM and that helped briefly. Then found out my main battery was bad. Now that I have replaced it my mouse  and track pad are behaving.  It may have been coincidence or it may be that Lion is more sensitive to battery issues?
Worth checking your battery as this can cause all kinds of problems apparently.....

  • The lights are on but no ones home!

This morning I updated my firmware. I let it run while I was getting ready for work and when I came back the imac was asleep. I tried to wake it up, which it did but the screen stayed black. I could tell the Mac was awake as I could open iTunes using the remote. I tried shuting down using control-eject-enter and then starting up again which it does but the screen stays black and the power light stays on. Tried starting off CD but nothing shows.

  • The battery icon says "Not Charging" and the light on the charger isn't lighting up either?

I fell while my macbook was in my bag. It was already dead but when I went to put the charger in it wouldn't light up. To my surprise it still turned on but it said "(Not Charging)". I unplugged it multiple times and reset the PRAM and everything and it's still the same. It's as if I always need my macbook to be plugged in for it to work and not charge at all. Is it the internal battery? What else could I possibly do to resolve the issue?
