BT Sport Bill

Background
I took out BT Sport in August last year, I then took out BT's telephone and broadband service which went live in mid-December 2013.  I then rang BT on or around the 23rd December after receiving a bill from them to give them my direct debit details for telephone/broadband and to get rid of the separate BT Sport contract as I was now entitiled to it free.
What's happened
I let BT take another payment for BT sport on the 15th January to cover any shortfall, I then cancelled the direct debit.  I
followed this up with an email on the 7th of February as I hadn't heard anything from BT, which I only got an automated response to and then again with another email on the 22nd February which I got no response to.  I then wrote to them earlier this month and got a phone call back, I explained to the gentleman when I originally called and he agreed to credit the account and close it.
Latest
This morning I received a final bill for £18 odd, even though by my calculations BT owe me a small amount, I then rang BT to query it and I was practically accused of telling lies as the guy couldn't find a record of the call I made in December.  I've no reason to lie I was entitiled to it free anyway so why would I pay for something when it was free!  I then asked for to speak to his supervisor as the guy wouldn't budge and then they hung up on me.
I do not know what to do next, does anybody know how to get a complaint taken seriously at BT?  I'm actually not that bothered about the few quid they owe me, but I certainly don't want to pay them any more for their mistake.

  • Bt sport billing problem

i have bt broadband and so applied for free bt sport in july. august i got a bill for my "free" bt sport. i spent 4 hours in queues and on calls to bt to try to sort out. bt had created a 2nd account for me for bt sport and billed me. bt was going to sort by merging the accounts. september, another bill for "free" bt sport. spent ages again trying to get bt to sort out their mess..."accounts will be merged". today, bill for "free" bt sport.  now in a queue to the 4th person today in bt trying to sort out the bt mess. i'm not very confident of it being sorted. before i cancel my bt accounts and services (i have just ordered infinity) wonder if someone can permanently sort out this problem...still in a queue as i type this! :-(

sorry CraigS, i spent 4 hours on calls and in queues to bt in august, i was then told that the accounts would be merged, the ammount charged would be refunded and all would now be ok. in september the same happened and was assured that it wouldn't happen again. earlier this week bt called me to advise that infinity was available and ask if i would like to upgrade, the person who called said that "you've got 2 accounts...i'll sort that out". today the next bill arrived for the 2nd account for bt sports. i think the 3 unsuccessful attempts to solve the mess that bt created have caused me enough upset and frustration, not to mention the waste of my time...3 hours today was enough, i've cancelled the 2nd account along with the bt sport as they couldn't merge it with my main account. i'm now contemplating whether to cancel my unfulfilled infinity order and the rest of my bt account, phone and broadband as bt seem incompetent. the worst of today was when i got put through to an offshore bt person who couldn't even grasp the situation. it is with a heavy heart, as i only left bt at the end of february after 38 1/2 years with bt/post office telephones, that i think about stopping my bt service. there is no ownership taken for these problems and so they carry on causing customer dissatisfaction.

  • HT3702 i have a complain about the bill for Al-Jazeera sport channel, and when i open my pushapse hystory to cmplain a report problem the box not open to write my complain, i want my money back, i don't want to renew my account with al-jazeera sport.

my problem is my bill payment for Al-Jazeera sport channel, iwas trying to cancel  my account in your apple store with al-jazeera sport channel, but in place of desubscription, i see you make a new subscription for 2 bill one 9.99$ what i don't want to renew it, and one for 34.99$ what i already have thia account for all this year and i don't need or i don;t to renew anymore, so please can you cancel this payement bill and reply me this bill of money to my credit card. and stop renew my account with al-jazeera sport. Thanks and sorry for desturbing.

  • BT Sport incorrect billing - help!!!

I signed up for the BT Sport add-on for Sky on 10 July.  I have phone and broadband with Plusnet (which is owned by BT).  I was told that payments would be taken retrospectively.
Yesterday BT took £18.10 from my account, which bears no relation to either the £15 sign-up or the £12 monthly payment.  It also predates the availability of the service.
Can anyone explain?  I've got absolutely nowhere with the (Indian?) call centre.

The BT Sport channels launch on Aug 1st at 6pm, but BT don't seem to be charging for that partial day. My latest BT bill contains an advance charge for BT Sport from Aug 2nd (plus a matching credit). BT have always charged me in advance for the fixed price services.
For eight days advance charge it would be 8/31 * £12 = £3.0967 which I assume they would round up to £3.10. Add the £15 activation fee and you would get £18.10.
So my guess is they have charged you in advance for Aug 2nd to Aug 9th because your next bill date is Aug 10th?

Right....Before I phone that number...Do you know how long it will take them to answer it? No idea........and.......is it one of those BT numbers where the person transfers you to someone else, then they ask you to hold on for an eternity.. and some woman keeps telling you "we are sorry for the delay, we are very busy" and then the line drops? Probably.
Do you think this would be a good place to phone and write to:-

No. As already stated, you can only cancel by phone on number upplied by BT.

  • Check you are set up to watch BT Sport via the app...

    Hello all
We’re aware that a number of you are having problems accessing the BT Sport app. We’re looking into the specific scenarios some of you have described but we thought it would be useful to post up this general guidance as well.
Check you’re ready to watch on the app
If you have ordered BT Sport to watch on BT TV, YouView or Sky you should be set up to use the app as well. All you need to do is download it. You can do that by going to the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
If you want to watch on the app or online only, not on TV
If you are a BT Broadband customer and you just want to watch BT Sport online or via the app (not via TV) you need to activate it first. To activate, just log in to My BT, scroll down and click on BT Sport and follow the steps. If you have more than one account number in your My BT profile, remember to switch onto the one your BT Broadband is billed to.
    Thanks

Well, it's the 10th September, and my BT Broadband is finally activated; but still no BT Sport via the Sky box
I've tried to link my Sky viewing card to mt BT account online, but I just get the message
"Good news! You've already got access to BT Sport. Watch online at btsport.com or via our Apple and Android apps. If you'd like to talk to us about upgrading your BT Sport Pack so you can watch via your TV please call us on 0800 731 0286."
What? I don't want to watch on a computer or phone. I want to watch it on my TV.
Anyway, I called the number, waited on hold for 26 minutes before being cut off.
    What is going on?

  • I can watch BT Sports & ESPN on TV, but nothing "L...

Can someone please shed some light on my subject problem, as BT helplines (for the last week) have been about as useful as a CHOCOLATE TEAPOT!!!!
What confuses me, and probably the BT helpline, is the fact that I can view old BT Sports & ESPN video stuff on my computer - but no "live" broadcasts. All I get is the error message err: VC025
but BT's following steps to fix the issue don't work!:
First make sure you’re connected to the internet
Refresh the page and try again
Log out of the app and back in again
If this doesn't work, you could try clearing the app's data and cache.
Even more confusing, is that I can watch Sky Sports LIVE on my computer (which my son pays for) - so somewhere along the line it appears there is a problem with BT!
However, unless BT get their act together, I will be contacting my solicitor, as BT have taken my money under false pretences, as I've paid £49 (one-off BT Vision activation charge, plus £5 per month for BT Vision Essential). Also, my service was activated 3 days ago (at least 5 days after it was scheduled), and that was because I rang up to complain that I could not receive their Sports package on my TV - and was stunned when they admitted that they had forgot to activate their signal to my Freeview TV aerial !!! Also I am confused by what they describe in their billing ( BT Vision Essential ), when they have sent me a YOUVIEW Box, which I think I have correctly installed.
Also being a small BT shareholder, I'm naturally worried about BT's future share price, when all the bad publicity regarding this blighted launch of their TV & Internet Sports service starts to make "the City" wobble , and BT's share price to head south :-(
Any suggestions on how to get my BT Sports.com internet service to work, would be very welcome :-)

Eeeeeer...... tvwatcher, I can assure you  I'm not in a "black spot"! ......... far from it, as I am on one of the highest hills in South East Essex, and can choose from Southern, Eastern & London TV signals - get Norfolk's coverage as clear as crystal, and to add salt to your wound, one of my roof designedl aerials is hanging by a bit of string in the loft
And I hope you are not calling me a liar, as the BT Customer Service guy (who was English - not Indian), did say " We omitted to switch on your BT Sports & ESPN service to your surface aerial" Wot perhaps he meant to say, was "We forgot to switch on the tv signal (to everyone) in this reception area!"
If you could be on the other side of the fence during the day(with BT Sports Customer service), I'm sure you would hear many more "unbelievable" conversations, as the average wait time to speak to someone, must be an all-time record in the UK, since phone-in customer service was first introduced in ........... 1970's???
BT's C.S. teams must be under an all-time record pressure, as the product launch appears to have been planned on some remote Carriibean island, where the customers numbered ONE MAN & HIS DOG!
As a small BT shareholder ............. I fear the worst! However, no doubt some white knight in shining armour, will be hired @ immense cost, and ride into BT Sports' Customer Service current mayhem on a pristine white horse (a seasoned SKY TV man, for instance), and get things organised with a SUPER plan of action, with achievable timelines, so that all will be sorted in a couple of months .......... hopefully

  • BeIn Sports To Be Added Monday. Redbox Instant Launches. NFL Ticket To Be Up For Grabs.

BeIn sports will be added to the fios guide on monday where customers who have the ultimate hd package will have it there available for them to watch as part of the package. For people who have the spanish package they will be receiving the second BeIn sports channel in spanish. There is a third BeIn sports channel in french but no american tv provider has it and it is only available in europe. If you do not have the ultimate hd package you have to get the sports package to get BeIn sports. The channels are not like the gol tv channels which carry the same exact games where the difference is that one channel calls the game in english and the other calls the game in spanish. The BeIn sports channels are different in the games they broadcast with totally different lineups and if you want an idea of what they have to offer then check out their website that has the listings for soccer games, tennis matches, rugby matches, boxing, golf, volleyball, basketball and motorcycle races where BeIn is currently negotiating the additions of more sports programming to be added to their channels. If you want to confirm this call verizon's billing department as they are now telling everyone that BeIn is set to be added on monday so that they can get people to upgrade to the hd lineup or at least add the sports package. Now it will be interesting to see if verizon is going to go the route of other providers where they too might end up dropping gol tv like comcast and directv did. Redbox instant just launched too. It is $6 to stream movies onlines, $8 to stream and you will also get 4 dvd codes to rent at a kiosk or $9 if you want to stream online and rent 4 blue ray dvds with 4 codes. Another interesting thing that has happened is that direct tv has announced they will not be renewing their contract for the the nfl ticket so it will be up for grabs for whoever wants it. Now everyone is saying that comcast is going to do everything they can to add it with time warner also a possibility but if verizon wants to add a lot of customers then they better start planning right now to make their move to add the nfl ticket. I find it to be very interesting that all customers are set to get a price increase on tuesday the day after BeIn sports is added to the guide so even if those customers who may never watch the channel will never know it  they are in fact in their own way paying for the addition of BeIn sports. Now as a reminder i will say that i was the first one to mention that verizon would be adding BeIn sports to their lineup where verizon did something that they would normally not do which is to actually admit that what i said was true a month after i had revealed that info on here. It will be interesting to see if anyone even remembers that or would i have to bring back that thread from august to prove a point that my info was correct? Pac 12 network HD is also on the way too.

    celticpride wrote:
I received an email from verizon today saying that in april they will be dropping G4 and adding esquire  tv on channel 191? not sure of channel number or if the new channel will be in HD. BTW will verizon have all the nba league pass channels in HD and dual feeds like directv next year?
Just so we're clear, Verizon isn't dropping G4 - G4 is going away. It is no more. It's being converted into the Esquire Channel. It's not a matter of Verizon dropping one for the other. So before people start a million threads whining about "Why is Verizon dropping G4?!" I hope they know the facts.

  • Can you get a bill without having a line?

Hi Everyone, first post and looking for some help as Im sick of the call centre lies!
I have come on here as a last resort... As I have been fobbed off so many times I have lost count.
My problem is I moved house in June 13 and despite BT promising to connect me by installing a line and promises of 8mb Internet, it fell in to the all to difficult category. So BT and me mutually agreed that the contract would be cancelled and we would owe nothing but a couple of pounds from the last bill... So no line, no telephone and no Internet at my new place. No problem.
However, BT still persist in billing me every month for Internet and BT vision, despite countless calls and promises from Raj in India, Jewel in billing, Clare in" BT the home of sports" and the most fascinating of all the "Chat facility" which quite frankly is rubbish and manned by buffoons! I need advice in how I deal with this.
Not only is it taking up my time but my patience is is wearing thin, because I havent  payed the bills the email's are now starting to threaten action... I mean what are they going to do cut me off!  But on a serious note I do not want this to effect my credit rating and my chances of signing back up with BT if I move again.
So any advice on where to start so I can speak to the same person who has access to the "systems notes" who doesn't hang up and preferably speaks in a dialect I can understand and they can understand me, who doesn't promise call backs that never happen and offer to refund money I haven't paid?
Really simple problem you would think? Stop billing me for a service I have never had, I'm not a customer, I have no BT Line and you BT are harassing me.
    Where do I go next?
    thanks

  • Trying To understand My Final Bill (not a rant :) ...

    Hi all,
I have recently switched my broadband and phone to another provider and as i was switching within my contract i am being charged as i a expected.
As my final bill is not broken down in detail i do not know why it does not tally with what i had calculated using the costs provided HERE.
I want to ring up to dispute the ammount but also want to make sure i have all my ducks in a row before i do incase i have missed something obvious.
Here's the run down, i am well outside the original contract period but it was extended by 12 months when i got BT Sports. Confirmation email says this was on 16th June 2013. I realised when it was too late that i extended it by a further 12 months when i increased my cloud storage to 50gb, confirmation email says this was on Aug 9th 2013. So i assumed that my most recent 12 month contract would have expired on Aug 9th 2014.
I am/was on BT Total Broadband Option 3 with unlimited evening and weekend calls. The switch date to my new provider was 12 May 2014. By my maths i make this just under 3 months was left to run on my contract. Using the link i put above i expected my final bill to be (rounding it up to 3 months to be safe) 3 x £15.25 = £45.75.
My final bill came to £135.28. Alot more than anticipated. If anyone is willing to help explain where i have gone wrong if i have or tell me where BT have gone wrong so i have my facts straight before i ring them up it would be most appreciated.
I am sorry that this is not the most exciting post in the world.

I thilk you'll have to ask them.  The only things that I can think of are:
They think you have renewed your contract again at some point, or
They are charging you cancellation fees for other services as well.
There was a lot of mucking about at the beginning of this year with services that used to be free, but BT started to charge for them.  However you could avoid paying by signing up for (yet) another 12 month contract.

  • Can I Watch BT Sport On My BT Youview Box WITHOUT ...

    Hi
I hope I have a simple question that has a simple answer!
I have a recently supplied by BT Youview box(Humax I believe). BT line rental and BT Broadband as well. I am in an area that does NOT get Affinity.
Can I get BT Sport on my Youview box? If so, how do I go about it?
I used the online chat assistant(32 minute wait) and the person there said I could-but as we got further in to the conversation she said she didn't know how to enable it as she was actaully from the billing department and didn't know how to do it :-( She said she'd pass me on to their techincal people to help me and she'd call me straight away. She did this and asked me to close ALL BT windows on my computer before she could pass me on. I did this. Only to find I had been put in a queue for some Bt helpline :-( After 38 minutes of being told BT were very busy, but that they would get to my call as soon as possible-the call simply disconnected. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, not sure why they treat customers like that but it certainly makes you think twice about migrating to SKY :-(
Anyway, I've spent ages on the phone and the computer trying to enable BT Sport without success. All I really want to know is: can I have BT Sport on my recently supplied BT Youview box with BT Broadband on a BT line? If I can, how do I do it? If not, will it be available to me any time soon?
I hope I have given enough info to help answer this simple question but if not PLEASE don't hesitate to ask for more detail.
Many, many thanks to anyone that can help clear up this frustrating issue for me :-)
    Heraldic

Thanks for that. The thought of trying to get back through to BT again fills me full of dread :-( I think I'll pass on that and give up hope.
    Thanks again for the help.
    Telboy62 wrote:
You would really have to speak to BT about that. (sorry). They would have to release you from your current contract and restart you with a BT vision box.
My fear is that they would charge you for the Youview box you currently have as it only becomes "your" box after you have completed a 1 year contract.

  • Bt sport free in october

it really makes me agry when companies like sky and now bt sport pull stunts like this as the paying subscribers get absolutely no discount no free airtime or anything if it was not for enjoying the rugby coverage i would cancel my subscription immediately

Off topic, but the answer is they do already. Bills show BT Sport as a charged service, but contain a balancing refund. They say they don't intend to change that but won't guarantee it. This article is now several months old but is still valid as far as I know.
BT would be crazy to start charging BT Broadband customer for BT Sport. Right now it's one of the few things keeping BT customers from moving to Sky or Talktalk, especially with the January price increase and the charging for previously free services like 1571 and caller display.

  • How do you cancel BT Sports?

I'm currently on Sky HD but I'm cancelling it as the majority of programmes I watch are on freeview.
I signed up online for BT Sports back in May but I've changed my mind & don't wish to go ahead with it anymore.
How do you cancel this before the season starts?

    OneManTagTeam wrote:
Just a follow up. I rang up & cancelled & got my £15 refunded to me. I also got another bill for around £5 a few days after I cancelled but that gas been cancelled too.
I really see no reason for the high activation fee & bills before the service has even started
BT have to pay Sky when the card is activated to receive then channels. It makes sense that they'd charge you at the same time.
