Bt sport free in october

it really makes me agry when companies like sky and now bt sport pull stunts like this as the paying subscribers get absolutely no discount no free airtime or anything if it was not for enjoying the rugby coverage i would cancel my subscription immediately

Off topic, but the answer is they do already. Bills show BT Sport as a charged service, but contain a balancing refund. They say they don't intend to change that but won't guarantee it. This article is now several months old but is still valid as far as I know.
BT would be crazy to start charging BT Broadband customer for BT Sport. Right now it's one of the few things keeping BT customers from moving to Sky or Talktalk, especially with the January price increase and the charging for previously free services like 1571 and caller display.

  • Ordering BT Sports free over sky - do I still get ...

Have been looking at getting the new home hub 4 and getting bt sports free on my sky platform.
However, as we are already on bt option 3 (unlimited broadband) and can't get infinity as on exchange line, we can't upgrade to infinity, so the only option is upgrading via having the bt sports over the sky platform, which we want.
But, by upgrading this way and getting bt sports for free over sky, would we still get our new home hub 4 or would I have to pay the £35 as we can't upgrade any other way apart from the bt sports option.

if you get BT sport added to your SKY package the it will just be another satellite channel on the menu - it is already there.  you don't need  a new hub

  • BT sport free weekend on iOS

    Hi.
Unfortunately I'm out of the house and would like to watch some of today's sport as part of the free weekend. Is there any way I can do this via the app even though I am not a subscriber? For instance, is there a temporary login I could use to access the app for this weekend only?
    Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. Alas, it's only available on TV.

Surely you will need a BT Vision subscription too?

  • Why is BT sport not free via Youview?

Though Bt has made BT sport totally free for BT broadband users via Sky if you want to watch via Youview you have to subscribe to a BT TV package. Why is this?

Sounds as if your minimum period contract has ended, and you may find that you've lost other special prices. You have to renegotiate a fresh minimum period to keep BT Sport free and get the best deal - call the Options Team on 0800 800 030.
This is from the BT Sport Terms and Conditions:
The Options Team should be able to tell you if the charge for BT Sport has been introduced for any other reason, like an error.

  • Getting the Free BT Sport

    Hi,
I pay £15 a month for BT Sport however I placed an order a few weeks ago to get my Phone and Broadband with BT.
The Phone Line switched over on the 5th but the Broadband been delayed to the 13th.  I have tried phoning to explain that I have 2 BT accounts and wanting the BT sport free, but no advice and they got confused.
I've paid BT Sport to thr 16th Nov so I should get a refund for the 5th-15th Nov and hopefully I don't get billed again.
How do I get this fixed.

Try Billing Live Chat in the morning and keep a copy of the conversation. If they don't resolve it report what happened back here (without posting the whole conversation).

  • How do I cancel BT Sport

    Hello Community,
I have the luxury of receiving BT Sport FREE via SKY due to me being a long standing Broadband customer with BT.
Being in my senior years and always looking to reduce costs, I may decide to leave BT when my present contract expires on 27th March 2015.  In the meantime, I wish to cancel BT Sport as I never use it and it may cause complications later down the line should I decide to leave BT.  I received a letter recently stating that if I did not renew my contract with BT on said date then I would be charged £6.75pm for the privilege of receiving a channel that I do not watch.
I just do not want the hassle at my time of life.  Can anyone help me please?
    Thanks in advance.
    iansally

Try calling 0800 345 7310, select option 2, say "cancel BT Sport" or similar when asked why you're calling.

  • BT Sport. Have I just been conned into new contrac...

Today, I received a mail saying my bt sport free subscription was bue to end in late September and if I wanted to keep it, I would need to renew my bt broadband contract for 12 months.
Fair enough, I like bt sport so decided to renew. Now Ive been sent confirmation of my NEW contract starting today and not late september when it was due to end.
Shouldnt the renewal have been from the renewal date in september and not today?

    curiousfellow wrote:
But what if you're on a price plan for the 12 month contract but the 'renewal' is at a higher price? That means you're actually paying MORE SOONER.
If they do start charging you more sooner (by ending a discount early) then they are going against their own terms. The following is from the BT Sport legal stuff and I think applies to renewing in order to qualify for BT Sport.
Broadband Special Offers – If you've got a broadband special offer, you'll keep it on the same terms you originally agreed to – including when it ends. The basic price of BT broadband stays the same: and that's what you'll pay when any special offer stops.
However, as I mentioned before, it seems that you have now lost the chance to negotiate a new deal towards the end of September and will just go onto basic pricing as your original contract stated. If you feel you were misled on this then you could try submitting a complaint via the Contact Us link on the top of the page. You never know they might let you discuss a new 12 month deal which would still qualify you for free BT Sport but possibly on a better price/discount.
It might even be worth just phoning the Customers Options Team on 0800 800 030 and explaining your situation. You never know they might be in a generous mood.

Error Message: Your account does not have broadband:
Try this it worked for me.
Log into my BT account - choose to update account details. Make sure that your current telephone number is listed. Mine was blank, once I inserted the number I was able to go to the order page for BT Sports (Free Order)which is now working on my Laptop and Tablets. Hope this helps.

Did you find where to enter your phone number? Did you enter it? (This worked for me).
Otherwise what does "not working for me" actually mean? Are you having the same problem as this thread talks about, or a different problem?
    Thanks

  • BT Sport never gets activated

    Hello
I had BT broadband installed on 16th Aug and expected BT sport (free HD as I ordered before 1st aug) to also be available on my SKY platform, it is not.
I have rung BT every day and speak to 3 or 4 people each time who pass me between departments - average length of call is between 40-60 mins. I have given my Sky viewing card number every day and I am assured it will be activated within 24 hours - it never is.
The situation is frankly ridiculous and very frustrating as no one seems able to complete such a simple order. I have lost all confidence in BT already
Is there anyone who can help me, I have spoken to over 15 different support people thus far
    thanks

  • BT Sport 2015/16 Season Query

I'm currently weighing up whether to move from Sky back to BT. One of the main considerations Is whether or not BT will offer BT Sport 'free' with BT Broadband. I assume BT have yet to make an announcement regarding this. Does anyone know when BT are likely to announce this or indeed have any inside info on what they are likely to announce.
    Cheers

  • Help in receiving BT Sports

Hopefully someone will be able to assist?
Quick question is, if I buy a BT Youview box (from Dabs - not BT), will I be able to receive/watch BT Sports, already being a subscriber to Infinity2 for Fibre BB?
To explain the circumstances, I used to have a TV, connected to an old Sky digibox with a 'once only' sky card in, plus a PVR. By linking the sky card to my BT account I could watch BT Sports. A few weeks ago the immersion tank decided to blow, flooding the house from top down, in the process killing the (old but surviving) entertainment system.
So, I am in the process of trying to 're-generate' my system, but obviously in the most efficient way possible.
Ideally I want freesat (previously received through the old sky digibox), plus freeview, but also the ability to watch BT Sports.
I was intending to purchase a BT Youview box to act as the conduit for both freeview and BT Sport, but don't know whether this would work without an additional subscription?
Failing that I would be looking to buy the Sky freesat system, so that would get me freesat and BT Sports, then buy a separate PVR with freeview.
Any help and advice gladly accepted.

    scointer wrote:
Unfortunately to receive BT Sport channels on any YouView box you need a BTTV subscription (min £5 a month). If you are thinking of buying a box though why not sign up to BTTV for £5 a month plus a one off £35 activation charge, you will get the latest G4 YouView box (by far the best out there) and after 12 months the box is your's even if you cancel the subscription..
    http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=27270
P.S. Dabs is owned by BT
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dabs.com
Obviously if you stopped the subscription you would lose bt sports but it is fairly certain it will start to cost in 12 months time anyway
Other than that you could buy a £30 chromecast device and cast it onto your TV or use the sky method you describe.
Slightly unsure why you feel you need freesat and freeview.
scointer, many thanks for the response. To be totally honest I am asking on behalf of my Dad, who had the set up as described.
The estate he lives on has 'piped' satellite and digital tv - ie no personal minidishes/aerials. In answer to the freeview AND freesat question, by all accounts if he recorded on one (either freeview or /sat) the quality of what he was watching at the time dropped or vice versa. I am thinking that this may possibly be due to the age of his equipment, and possibly the way it was connected. I will do more digging on what he actually needs - understanding at his age he needs it 'just to work'!
I am thinking the Sky freesat route is the way to go - i.e. simplest, then add on a PVR and DVD player.
His main concern is he needs the Sky/freesat so he can watch BT Sports, free due to his BB contract.
I have heard that chromecast may not be fully up to the task in hand, in that the picture may lose definition when connected up to a full size TV. I guess there is only one way to find out - might have to look into one myself...
PS - Realised DABS is a BT product - but it does some awesome deals at times...(just bagged around £240 worth of gaming kit for a little under a £100!)!
