BT sport on sky platform

Moving into a new property and Looking to buy BT broadband to include BT sport and have it on the sky platform but i have not yet had either installed, do i need to have the sky installed before the broadband so i can add BT sport straight away or can i get the broadband installed first and add BT sport to the sky platform at a later date once that is also installed?
thanks in advance for your help

If you are going to watch it on the SKY Platform you will need to have SKY Installed before you can order it because you will need the SKY viewing card number.

  • Cant get BT Sport on Sky?

Can I get a BT Sport on Sky Platform without being a sky subscription customer?
I have sky as freesat platform and had old viewing card and get all the free channels fine, I regestered the card online but on day the BT Sport the card was not activated.
I spoke to BT customer support as was also having problem getting online viewing working too (a problem with verifiying my account after having it merged so I could use BT Sport online), this has now been resolved and BT Sport online is working fine (starting working fine yesterday), after this conversation I got a new viewing card through post apparently from SKY although not sure how or why,  this card is now registerd with BT Sport as viewing card to use apparently. Did BT Sport instigate this as SKY denies sending one out?
However I am getting message that it is incorrect card for box message on have to subscibe channels and the BT sport ones, yesterday I tried the pair box with card as suggested by BT Sport help sections online, entered the info and still no inprovement. Do I need to wait bit logner for this to work?
In between times I also contacted sky about the card, and they seem know nothing the new card and it's not registered on their system.
I tried reregistered old viewing card on BT Sport but it says card not currently active and check if i have newer one.
I'm not sure what i can do next, should I wait bit longer for the paring to complete or do I need to do something else?

    That's what they said
It came after had accounts merged, I had originally registered my old viewing card and this was mentioned in the email when started new year contract with newly merged account.
However since then the new card has been registered with BT, im not sure how this happened don't remember mentioning this new card number to anyone at BT, however may of tried registering new card online at some point, hard to remember now after all that has happened since does get confusing as was having problem of verifying me as account holder on newly formed merged account. So trying lots of things to get things working.
Thing is I can't reregister the old card with BT online now, it says its not active.
I'm not sure whether I should persue trying to get the old card reregistered or try getting this new card working, as not been SKY subscriber for over 6/7 years, never had a new card even when they said may lose channels a few years back, the old card is very old a blue one. New one is white.
For all I know neither card may not be active one (as far as sky are concerned), as you can watch freeview sky without card if you dont do any updates. I assume the card reloads channels available on it should a reset or crash occur and need to update box? Not that I'm and expert on these things
Just another thing, would I need box connected to phone line for new channels to be added?  I know it allows you to use interactive services and is required if you have subscription with multi-room, but not sure if needed for anything else, I could temporarily connect one if needed, but phone port is on opposite side of room to tv, so having permenant connection would be tricky, reason why one is not connected atm.

  • When can I watch BT Sport via the Sky Platform

I have just sent the following message via the BT 'email us' form, but then I received an email back saying that it could take up to 10 days to respond . Given that I only have another 3 days to cancel my order (if necessary) I thought I'd try and find an answer on here, so here's the message. Thanks in advance...
Please inform me of the DEFINITIVE date on which I'll be able to activate BT Sport through my Sky HD box.
It is (in theory) already active for viewing online or via the app, but I am so far unable to link my Sky viewing card because of an "outstanding order" on my account.
I have spoken to various members of your staff (both on the 'phone and via LiveChat, for which I have the transcript) and I am being given contradictory answers. These answers have varied as follows.
    1. I will be able to activate it as soon as I place the order for BT Broadband (so I placed the order without delay on 17/08/2012).
    2. I was then told this would be 24 hours after placing said order, so I waited.
    3. Thirdly I was told that I could activate it as soon as I give you my MAC key (so I did this on 19/08/2012 as a direct result of this advice, even though I could be charged by my previous Broadband provider for using the key within 7 days).
    4. When that didn't work I was told to wait 24 hours after using the MAC key.
    5. Finally I was told that I would have to wait until after my BT Broadband goes live on 10th September.
Answers 1-4 have turned out to be false, and as I am now starting to lose faith in the answers provided by BT, I don't hold out much hope for answer 5.
Considering that my reason for ordering BT Broadband was so that I could get BT Sport via the Sky platform, I am increasingly under the impression that I have been mis-sold the product.
Could you therefore please tell me EXACTLY WHEN I'll be able to activate BT Sport via the Sky platform.
    Thank you

Well, it's the 10th September, and my BT Broadband is finally activated; but still no BT Sport via the Sky box
I've tried to link my Sky viewing card to mt BT account online, but I just get the message
"Good news! You've already got access to BT Sport. Watch online at btsport.com or via our Apple and Android apps. If you'd like to talk to us about upgrading your BT Sport Pack so you can watch via your TV please call us on 0800 731 0286."
What? I don't want to watch on a computer or phone. I want to watch it on my TV.
Anyway, I called the number, waited on hold for 26 minutes before being cut off.
    What is going on?

  • No Multi-Room for BT Sport on Sky?

I was wondering why BT Sports have no Multi-Room avaliable? I find it a constant disappointment because Someone may be watching something else on the one TV and I can't watch it on my other Sky box. Can you please create a Multi-Room where I can watch BT Sport on my two Sky Boxes? Many Thanks.

  • Does BT Sport On Sky Auto Cancel?

I've been a subscriber through SKY since BT Sport started but have now changed to BT for my Fibre too. I remember when first signing up BT Sport was mentioned and i said something along the lines that i already had it through SKY (i relly can't remember the exact way it was worded).
Now obviously as i should now receive it for free through the app/PC i don't need it on SKY anymore and can save myself £16.50 a month, so will it automatically finish on SKY or is there something i need to do to cancel it? Thanks.

I would be proactive and cancel to make sure. Try. 0800 432 0025

  • BT Sport without sky subscription

    Hi
I have recently cancelled my Sky subs and just going to pay for the £10 a month ability to record but wanted to still be able to view BT Sports.  Reading online and speaking to advisors leave s me wondering if it will actually work or not.  I have read that it should work if you have freesat from SKy but im ot sure if it will work if i have just got the record facuility enabled.   I wont find out until June when i get cut off.  Can anyone advise?

  • BT Sport on Sky

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but is it still possible to get BT Sport for free if the BT Infinity package is in my name but the Sky viewing card/subscription is in my partners name at the same address?
Any help with this would be appreciated.

A very interesting question. I would say yes. From discussion I have had with BT reps, in order to sign-up for BT Sport, they only need a viewing card number, no details about subscriptions are required.

  • BT Sport with Sky Multiroom

So the nice man I just phoned at BT tells me that BT Sport isn't available on sky multiroom. I thought he was kidding. I've got BT Broadband, (Unfortunately - Most reliable Internet connetion my left bum cheek) so the service should be free anyway. Alas, I even offered to pay for the additional box to be registered but apparently it can't be done. So can someone explain what the technical reason for this is? It's hardly an uncommon set up for a household to have more than one sky box, so surely this problem was not an oversight? I half expected it to be a money spinner for BT but for once I couldn't even pay you for your poor service.
In any case, you've given me the choice of watching the Liverpool game over your dreadful internet connection or the pain of watching Celtic with my dad in the living room. Saturday ruined.

It's BT's choice not to offer Multiroom, not Sky. Sky do after all
If BT's excuse is that it's too expensive, they should levy a charge so they break even - simples.
It's not BT's choice. A commercial agreement is needed and one cannot be reached at a price that makes economic sense.
BTW "simples" just makes you sound like an idiot.  Have you ever thought of trying to act and speak like an adult?
Of course one could be reached if BT had the will to do it. It would obviously cheaper than a full 2nd package which BT have also failed to offer.
BTW an ad hominem attack is the last resort of a lost argument
In this case it's just a matter of finding people who quote a puppet from a TV advert in the mistaken belief that it makes them sound clever or pithy, ever so slightly immature and shallow. You're one of about a million posters who do it across the web, there's nothing profound, wise, sassy, original, or witty about it.
A deal has not been reached because the negotiations have failed to produce a price BT are happy with.
That might change, but it also might not and people may find that this is one of those instances in life where stomping feet, posting stroppiness on forums and threatening to go elsewhere won't produce the result they want.
As for a second subscription, without the access to Sky's multiroom authentication system there's no way BT could be sure the second cards were being used in the addresses they're registered to. There's zip reason for them to take the chance.

  • BT Sport through Sky Box question?

I am thinking of getting BT broadband so I get the free BT Sport HD through my Sky box.
My question is do I need a Sky subscription for it to work?
I am now out of subscription but my sky box still works and I have my viewing card number still..
    Thanks

I can answer that in this miasma of confusion. You don't need a Sky sub. You won't be able to record of course.

  • Trying to activate BT sport on Sky

    Hi
I'm guessing a lot of people in the same boat. Have joined BT and account is activated. I have bt sport on iPad but BB connection speed is only 2.4MB/S so basically unwatchable. Have tried to order BT sport via my sky viewing card, waited 24 hours and no joy. Tried to reorder only to find that I can watch online ( which I knew already) but need to call them. Service is pretty poor and guessing ill have a few hours on the phone! Any ideas on how to fast track this system?

    Hi Dedonmel,
If you send me in your details using the link forun in the "About Me" section of my profile, I should be ale to get the BT Sport package added.
    Thanks

  • Question about integrating BT Sport in Sky Sports

Hi, I've recently moved house and am looking to get BT broadband/BT sport + Sky Sports. But since I'll have to register and have BT broadband installed first (for the phone line) before I have my Sky Sports set up will I have to add another 12 months to my 18 month BT contract to have BT Sport added to my Sky TV?
    Thanks
    Solved!

No, the condition for free sports is that you have at least 12 months remaining on your BT Broadband contract, which you will have.

  • BT sport through sky

I've just changed to BT BB and phone line and am trying to order the free BT sport to activate. I'm following the links on MY BT to activate but it takes me through the sequence and then says sorry technical error? Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or how best to solve it?

It's very expensive! However it works and best of all menu contrast is superb for my failing eyesight I could no longer use BT Vision area due to a very poor implementation for those who are partially sighted. BTTV is very poor for those with visual or audio problems.

  • Please could someone tell me where I can get info on how to use my controls when watching live sports on sky go on my IPad mini !!!

Could someone please tell me where I can info on how to use the controls I.e live pause, forward, rewind etc when watching live shows on my ipad mini please.

well, i can't really tell if i am only allowed one connection with this isp. basically, whenever i plug in the ethernet cord, all of the information gets filled in in the ethernet section of the network, except for the router info. there is router info filled in on my sister's computer whenever i plug the cord into her computer, though. does that mean i can't also use the modem for my computer? sorry, this is both my first time using a mac and my first time using anything other than dial-up, so i'm pretty lost. thanks for the info you've given me thus far.

  • Anyone signed up to BT Sports Channel via the Sky ...

I remember see a few posts from people who said they'd noticed a decrease in their Infinity DL speed after signing up to BT Sport via the Sky platform. How \ why that should be the case, I dont know but one or two people reckoned it was because of the demand likely to be put on the network if people view the sports channels via the net instead.
Have many people experienced this slow down after signing up or was it just an isolated coincidence?
Im interested in signing up for BT Sport channels via my Sky box but, dont want to experience a slow down of my Infinity as a consequence.
    Thoughts?

I don't think there can be any connection... the BT SPort service starts 1st august anyway and will be Satellite fed, unless you use on demand catchup... (if that's what you were thinking).
But my speeds have not degraded at all since signup, they are still climbing upwards as I am in my 10 day settling in period (installed 30th May)

  • Ordering BT Sports free over sky - do I still get ...

Have been looking at getting the new home hub 4 and getting bt sports free on my sky platform.
However, as we are already on bt option 3 (unlimited broadband) and can't get infinity as on exchange line, we can't upgrade to infinity, so the only option is upgrading via having the bt sports over the sky platform, which we want.
But, by upgrading this way and getting bt sports for free over sky, would we still get our new home hub 4 or would I have to pay the £35 as we can't upgrade any other way apart from the bt sports option.

if you get BT sport added to your SKY package the it will just be another satellite channel on the menu - it is already there.  you don't need  a new hub
