BT Sport Online

I have browsed the ridiculously complicated BT Sport website, flicked through these forums and contacted BT Sport and BT Care on Twitter (who just redirect me to the useless BT Sport website)
Can somebody please help me with this simple question:
I am a BT Infinity customer, all I want is access to BT Sport on my computer or my iPad. Do I need to opt in, or just log into the app/web player with my BT ID?
Thanks.
Owen

No, you only need to opt in if you have BTTV or want to use the Sky platform. To stream from the internet, you only need to sign up to MyBT and use the same log-in details for BT Sport online.

  • BT Sport Online: ERROR 3142 / VC019 Please help!!!

Hi, hoping someone can help. Trying to watch BT Sport online, but to no avail. The error code we get is 3142, err: VC019. We have tried latest and older versions of silverlight, using IE10, firefox and chrome. We are using Windows 8 on a HP ProBook 4340s.
I initially had a different error code, but as a long shot I updated the sound drivers and now the error code has changed to the one above.
The service seems to be poor with many people having problems getting access to play it online. If anyone can help me, any advice would be greatly received, so I can start watching BTSport online.
    Thankyou in advance!

  • Watch BT Sport online with a sub account?

Hi, is it possible to watch BT Sport online using a sub account or can it only be watched with the main registered email address?

Welcome to the forum. It's only available with the main account holder's MyBT sign-in details, which are chosen by the customer so may or may not be the primary email address and/or password. No other MyBT identity will do, though one additional device may be connected at the same time using the account holder's.

  • Why can't I activate the BT Sport Online Player

I simply want to actiivate the BT Sport Online player for use on my laptop. When I try to activate it I get a technical error. Speaking to someone is a joke, the FAQ's don't apply and the response to my email was a generic one about ordering BT Sport. As far as I can tell there must be an error with my account but getting very frustrated in getting a resolution.

  • BT Sport Online Not Working

    Hello,
I'm trying to watch BT SPort online but when I login and click on a programme an "install Microsoft Silverlight" box appears. When I install it, a message says I already have Silverlight installed. The page then just sits there and I still can't watch BT Sport.
    Can anybody help?
    Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Is Silverlight enabled? In Internet Explorer look in Tools > Manage add-ons; you'll probably have to select "All add-ons" in the drop-down under "Show".

  • Error CON-0104 - Can't order Sport online or by Ph...

I've been a Vision and Infinity subscriber for a while and use my ESPN viewing card all the time. I've been trying to order Sport since July but can't complete the order. Every time I try online I get "CON-0104" please call us. Every time I phone I get "Due to unprecendented demand for Sport... Please try later" Is there somethign I can do to complete my order online? It really shouldn't be this hard.....

Give it a couple of days to see if the problem clears itself. If it doesn't try the BT Care Team; they are the moderators of this forum and should be able to help.

  • Streaming Sport Online

I am trying to use an online television station (www.willow.tv) which is currently not supporting MAC. System requirements for the site are Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 with Windows Media Player 7.1 or higher and the site is running off "Akamai" web technology. Was wondering if anyone has had any success getting these types of sites working using Windows Virtual PC or whether there are any other possible solutions out there?
    g5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Well before I moved to infinity I had good online streaming of Bt sports for 3 weeks  over 5.7Mb ADSL with a windows 7 PC.
Since moving onto infinity the streaming has generally been very good ( although like many/several others there was an issue probably with a Bt server the other Saturday)
I've no personal experience of Vista --  I know the old windows Xp computer I occasionally boot up is much more likely to have issues with streaming even with infinity.
If inifinity is available to you - then particularly if the price is the same as your existing broadband then I would say upgrade -- some of the Bt migation to Infinity offers actually make no change to your existing contract charges.
As for taking up BT TV then if you have infinity the Youview offer is well worth considering  - £49 for activating the box and a £5 or £7 month  Essentials/Essential Extra over a 12 month period with the Youview box being yours to keep. PLus you would get opportunity to use/subscribe to other Youview players.
(yes you could consider the BT Vision  + box if you wanted immediate recordability of the Sports channels or if you weren't able/didn't want to have infinity or if you require Sky Sports 1&2)
Also you don't have to do everything at once --- I actually migrated from Adsl to Infinity  - then (I already had a BT Vision+ box service with TV)  I changed to a Youview box as a second stage  then I opted to take the Extra IPTV channels on the Youview box as a third stage.

  • Watching bt sport online

Hi, Im new to this, Ive ordered the BT sport to watch online. Ive registered it but now when I log in it keeps coming up with ""Sorry you can't access the BT Sport App and online content because a BT ID created by.......... is the account holder""
what am I doing wrong please

The account holder's sign-in details are the only ones which will work. "My profile" at top left on the MyBT home page must contain your telephone number and state that you are the account holder.

  • Broadband Usage watching BT Sports online using BT...

I have been charged for going over the 10GB limit. We do not stream apart from watching TV sports via the application at home where we have BT broadband.
I phoned BT this morning and they say, watching BT sports via the APP COUNTS TOWARDS USAGE. I have read the terms and as you say this does not count towards usage:
"How much broadband can I use?
Also, great news if you're a sports fan. Any content you watch or stream via the BT Sport app and online player using your BT Broadband connection will not count against your broadband usage limit, so you can enjoy great live sport without the worry."
Who should I contact with this issue, as BT customer services say watching the APP counts towards USAGE and therefore I am being charged for exceeding the limit.

  • BT Sport online from a PC running Windows XP can i...

Is anyone managing to watch BT Sport on-line from a PC which is running under the Windows XP operating system?

The difference between the test video you can play and the BT Sport stream that you can't  is I believe that BT Sport has DRM.
It seems Silverlight error code  6030 is
This content requires an output protection which cannot be enabled on this machine
This error is raised via the MediaFailed event whenever a license contains an unsupported license protection. This error is raised before the MediaOpened event has been raised.
One "solution" suggested  for 6030 problems  on another forum for another product
6030 - Uninstall Microsoft Silverlight from your computer then reboot it and then install an older version. To do this Google "old silverlight" and find and  install  say version 5.0.61118 . Make sure you have automatic updates turned off on it so it doesn't update itself to the latest version.
Now I have no  personal experience of this solution and you should always  exercise caution in downloading from site.
    A google search on
    silverlight error message list
should show you the other product forum link where the error codes are listed  with a  possible solution.
(I believe a direct link to that forum is contrary to thiis forum rules - hence  the guidance as to how you can get there.)

  • BT Sport Online Player - Blank Login Page

Logged in, click BT Sports 1, 2 and ESPN but the page goes blank and the tab at the top flickers from "login page" to "connecting" and back again. But the main page remains completely white blank.
I'm on a Mac if that makes any difference.
    Why no work?

On a Mac, are you using Safari (with Silverlight plug-in) or Chrome browser? Chrome is not supported.

  • BT Sport to be available Online, without subscribi...

    Hi,
I was wondering if there are plans to allow people to subscribe to BT Sport Online Player without subscribing to a BT Broadband package. I interested in just subscribing to the Online Player, but no offer is available to do this.
Will this be an option in the future?
I feel your limiting your audience, by not letting anyone purchase the BT Online Player on a subscription basis.

My folks contacted BT and were told they needed new Powerline Adaptors but also needed to be signed up for BT TV.
So, they signed up, despite being existing Broadband customers and despite having enjoyed BT Sport via the aerial for the last six months or more.
mmm... I'm not sure I would have been quite so quick to rush into signing up to any new contract.
In normal circumstances you do need to have your account registered for the BT TV service in order to receive the BT Sport channels on the BT TV box. New customers have to sign up to either TV Essential (£5) or TV Entertainment (£7.45).
However, some existing customers are on older TV packages. Some are even on an old package that was effectively TV PAYG and had fixed costs of £0 per month. I'm not sure if there were any limitations on who could add the free BT Sport via the TV aerial.
It would be strange to be able to receive the BT Sport channels via the TV aerial and viewing card without being on some sort of TV package and hence the BT TV service being registered for the account. Is it possible that was an old TV PAYG type deal?
I think you really need to identify exactly what the situation was before the new contract was started. It's possible the new contract was unnecessary, but I can't really give an answer to that.
I would also go back and look over the original e-mail. Did it give any small print or links to terms and conditions saying that some customers would have to take out a new BT TV contract at additional cost? The change was being driven by BT and the customer wasn't asking for any change.

  • Can't access the Online Player, nobody can help

I am at my wit's end.
I am an Infinity customer, and all I want is access to the BT Sport Online Player.  This seems to baffle absolutely everybody at BT.
I can't activate the player online, since it constantly gives me an error. Why you need everyone to manually activate a free service is beyond me.  Just do it for us.
After a few days of this error I call up, and must answer the automated question.  I say "BT Sport".  This puts me through to the BT Sport (sales) team.  I did this on Sunday and the helpful agent said they'd add BT Sport to my account and I'd get a welcome e-mail within 15 minutes or at most 24hrs.
It's now Tuesday and nothing is working still, so I call up again. Again I'm put through to the sales team because of the useless voice recognition system.  The guy says he can't help me at all being on the sales team, and gives me a new number.
.... The new number goes to the exact same place; merely a robot asking me to state my problem.  I say "Technical Support" this time and am put through to an automated robot that tests my line and calls me back.  The tests are done (I assume) and I get the call back.  The robot says they can't solve my problem (without anybody asking what the problem was) so I'm put through to a human.
This person is from the landline technical department and has nothing to do with BT Sport, so puts me through to someone else.   I don't know where this was, but they listen and seem to try to do something... but then just transfer me to someone else. This is, you guessed it, the BT Sport team!
I explain to the guy that I've been passed around for ages and want this fixed, and he seems confident that he can.  After a few minutes of "looking into it" he puts me on hold. The hold music plays and I wait, before suddenly being put back into a "queue"....
... for 45 minjutes, and nobody answers. I hang up in anger.
Enraged at this point, I call back to the BT Sport team.  The poor lady on the other end takes the brunt of my frustration but reiterates that they are just a sales team and can't help me at all.  She gives me the number for "tech support" which is just the same number I was given before (08001114567) that just goes to the voice thing again.  I explain this and she's very sorry but otherwise totally out of ideas.
Can anyone tell me what to do here?  This is the most ridiculous experience I've ever had with customer service and I've no idea what to do.  I can't believe that it's so difficult for BT to just Activate my account for BT Sport so I can use the Online player.
    Solved!

No, it says I must activate it.  Which I try to do via the link, hit the checkbox confirming my account, but just get the same cryptic error over and over. It says this:

  • Check you are set up to watch BT Sport via the app...

    Hello all
We’re aware that a number of you are having problems accessing the BT Sport app. We’re looking into the specific scenarios some of you have described but we thought it would be useful to post up this general guidance as well.
Check you’re ready to watch on the app
If you have ordered BT Sport to watch on BT TV, YouView or Sky you should be set up to use the app as well. All you need to do is download it. You can do that by going to the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
If you want to watch on the app or online only, not on TV
If you are a BT Broadband customer and you just want to watch BT Sport online or via the app (not via TV) you need to activate it first. To activate, just log in to My BT, scroll down and click on BT Sport and follow the steps. If you have more than one account number in your My BT profile, remember to switch onto the one your BT Broadband is billed to.
    Thanks

Well, it's the 10th September, and my BT Broadband is finally activated; but still no BT Sport via the Sky box
I've tried to link my Sky viewing card to mt BT account online, but I just get the message
"Good news! You've already got access to BT Sport. Watch online at btsport.com or via our Apple and Android apps. If you'd like to talk to us about upgrading your BT Sport Pack so you can watch via your TV please call us on 0800 731 0286."
What? I don't want to watch on a computer or phone. I want to watch it on my TV.
Anyway, I called the number, waited on hold for 26 minutes before being cut off.
    What is going on?
